Installed elements 13 on Mac Pro running yosemite - but can't find elements
Ive downloaded a free trial from Adobe, and it appears to install successfully, but I can t see it. Tried Finder and searchlight, but no sign of it. I then downloaded Lightroom to see if I could download that ok, and it was fine. This is a brand-new laptop, and has never had Elements installed.

It would "run" (more like Sunday stroll or walk) if you installed Snow Leopard in a VM. Especially if you have 6-core (and would help to have 6 or 8 cores anyway if you were able to and intend to make best use of nMP for video editing).
If you "classic" Mac Pro was 2009 or later, adding two AMD graphic cards, upgrading the processor to 8-core 3.xGHz would have gotten you a FCP-X capable machine and still dual boot and use Snow Leopard as needed.
Any Mac Pro can now use 1000MB/sec SSD PCIe blade to boot from and/or for scratch and editing to help improve work flow.

How do I pair Auvio ptb500 with Mac Pro running Yosemite?
I have Auvio PTB500, which plays exceedingly well when paired with my iPad. When I try to pair the same speaker with my MacPro running Yosemite, Bluetooth can't find the device. I tried removing and repairing all devices from Bluetooth on the MacPro. All those devices connected but there was still no recognition of the Auvio. Does it matter that I have other speakers connected to the audio output port on the MacPro?
It might. support is kinda slim for this so here's what I know. You turn on the Auvio, the bluetooth light on it should flash, then you go to your BT control panel on your Mac Pro, assuming BT is on, then you search for device and it should show up, then you click on pair. All I can say is disconnect the other speakers and give it a try.

How do I transfer 30 GB of stuff, mostly text documents, bookmarks and a few hundred photos from a MacBook model 1,1 in the black case, purchased in (2007?) running Leopard 10.5.8 with a 667 bus, 2 GB, 256 GB to a MBP 13" Retina running Yosemite 10.10.1? Using Migrate is out. Discovered after I bought it that the Seagate Plus Backup for Mac does not work with 10.5.8. OnetoOne recommends backing up my data before I do that, which seems like a good idea. Have a 801.11 n Time Capsule that also isn't working so that is not presently an option. Thank you.
The Seagate backup drive I bought doesn't support 10.5.8
The only reason I can see for that is it's formatted NTFS, which would likely be Read Only in 10.5.x, if you can reformat it MacOS extended, which would erase everything on it now, then that should work for your purposes. -

I have tried everything I know, but can't locate the catalog- I do not know where it is or what it would be named or what carbonite would call it. Also, the photos are not at the "same" location. I have over 22,000 photos and can't imagine trying to re-catalog. It is my life and of course, I need something immediately for a family funeral. Not to be too dramatic.... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Just installed ODT 11.1.0.6.20 but can't find Oracle Explorer
I downloaded and installed the latest ODT but there is no Oracle Explorer under the View menu option of VS2008. Installation went fine with no errors. I could see the new debugging options under the Tools menu option. I even uninstalled just the developer's tool and reinstalled it and it's the same.
On my PC there are VS2003, VS2005, VS2008 and I chose VS2008 only for the ODT.

"Oracle explorer" was the old way ODT worked. The current versions now integrated directly as a data source in the built in Server Explorer instead.

Upgraded by Mac Pro to Yosemite 10.10.1. Upgraded iPhoto to 9.6 now cannot open iPhoto.
I have a Mac Pro running Yosemite 10.10.1. I upgraded iPhoto to 9.6 and now cannot open iPhoto. I tried several times but have to force quit. I used the time machine to go back to before the upgrade but the iPhoto copy is just the same - blank screen with the little worm continually turning.
I do not know where to startDo you have a backup you can restore the pictures from?
Try a restart.
Do a backup, using either Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure files/data can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.
Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
Try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account. Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear and again when you log in. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don’t do them all at once.

Installed Myspace but can't find it.....
I installed the Myspace app to my phone but can't find the icon anywhere. I know it uploaded because it's in my applications list but the icon isn't on my home screen. I tired rebooting by taking out the battery and such, but NOTHING! Can anyone help? Thanx in advance.
Ok, so I've been struggling with this issue for months. I was looking around today on here and didn't find much information. But, I took a couple of different things and tried them. I'm not sure WHICH helped, but here is what I did and MySpace just uploaded successfully on my Blackberry Curve.
I deleted the MySpace Application from the App List (Options (The wrench)-Advanced Options-MySpace-Menu Button-Delete)
I restarted my phone
I changed the theme from the AT&T to the BB Dimension Zen (Options-Theme- BB Dimension Zen)
I logged onto my Browser and went to www.myspace.com
I clicked on the "Download MySpace for your Blackberry" or whatever it says
Before I clicked "Download", I checked the "Set Application Permissions" box.
I clicked "Download"
It took me to the Application Permissions
I changed the first two from "Custom" to "Allow"
I hit the back arrow on my phone
I chose "Save"
It started downloading
When it was finished, MySpace was listed under my Applications and is WORKING!!! HALLELUJAH! I'm not sure WHICH of those seemingly MANY steps made it work, but it did!

I have an Epson printer on a Wifi network. Windows 7 desktop is running the network, and my wife's HP Win 7 laptop prints to it just fine. My MacBook Pro running Yosemite won't detect it, and I do have the latest driver installed. I didn't have a problem when I had a Canon Pixma on the network, but when I replaced it with the Epson nothing seems to work. I go to add a printer to the queue and only the FAX function of the printer shows up - not the WS-4530 print function. Does anyone out there have any suggestions? Please??? :-)

I have a 2007 Mac Pro running 10.7.5 with dual core intel 2.66 with 13 GB ram. I want to replace my startup disk 250GB (which has all my apps) but has been lagging ( I thinks it's an original drive) with the new HD in bay 2 (4 T drive) which I installed this week. I tried to install lion onto it and it said I needed a newer version 10.7.3-I have time machine as my backup on an external. All the bays are full and I'd like to trade them out sooner or later to get more room for movies, etc. The last OSX disk I have is Snow Leopard and that was rejected as not new enough. Can someone help me with info on installing Lion on the new drive. I know how to make it the startup disk after, but I can't seem to load 10.6, 10.7 or 10.8 (not supported on my older mac pro.) ANNE ZFirstly, time to get rid of the 2 x 512MB FBDIMMs in there, they add more heat and use more watts then they add to the system. If you need more, and 4 or 8 DIMMs is ideal, Amazon has 2x2GB sets $22 - about 1/50th what I paid for 1GB new.
Buy a 250GB Samsung EVO SSD $129
Pick up Carbon Copy Cloner http://www.bombich.com to clone the system to the SSD
A sled adapter for the SSD from Icy Dock $14 Amazon.com
7-8 years overdue for new system drive! amazed it lasted this long. An SSD plus some WD Black 2TB drives or larger should do the trick.
you can also put the SSD in the lower optical drive bay and use one of the two ODD "spare" SATA ports for the SSD - an SSD is the best way to improve the performance of our old Mac Pro 2006-7 models.
When you downloaded the Lion installer that was when to create a flash type installer with Lion DiskMaker.
If you have put in a new-ish graphic card then OS X 10.6.0 may not support it. -
I am trying to install my adobe 5.5 on my mac pro running 10.10.1 but it will not run unless it has java SE6 but I have java 8 and I dont want to downgrade. please advise me how I can resolve this. I do not want to pay for a newer version of CS and I don't want to use the cloud .

My brand new Mac Pro running Mountain Lion crashes when installing updates or new software.
My brand new Mac Pro running Mountain Lion crashes and re-boots when installing updates or new software. I can only perform these operations while in the safe boot mode. I have reloaded OSX twice. Does not solve the problem. The machine is brand new. It replaced a previous MacPro that would not support the new Mountain Lion. When my new machine came in. I swaped the dirve out of my old unit into the new and ran the new Lion update. The machine has had this aforementioned problem since that time. Also, I had the Legacy version of File Vault running on the old machine/drive, which I also turned off(thinking that was the problem) but that did not fix the problem either.
