Installed firefox 31 and now I can't get to our oracle enterprise manager 12c URL

Hi,
On Monday, I upgraded to Firefox 31 and now I cannot connect to our Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control Web site. I get the following error message:
Secure Connection Failed
An error occurred during a connection to lmoemxs101q.atl2.dc.sita.aero:7799. Issuer certificate is invalid. (Error code: sec_error_ca_cert_invalid)
The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem. Alternatively, use the command found in the help menu to report this broken site.
I am not sure what to do to get rid of this message. I need to use OEM to monitor our Oracle databases and I am no longer able to do this.
Please help.
Thanks,
Roya

Thanks. I made the parameter change yesterday and now I can get to OEM and monitor our Oracle databases. I sent the workaround to my fellow DBA's in our office, as they all had the same issue with Firefox 31.
You mentioned that this the "insecure workaround" and should be used temporarily. How unsecure is it, and is the a better workaround being worked on?
Thanks,
Roya

  • Downloaded Firefox 4 and now I can't get rid of the disk image.

I downloaded Firefox 4.0 on my Mac (Intel-based laptop) a week or so ago, followed the directions (moved the one image to the applications folder image), but now it won't let me get rid of the disk image. Trash won't let me empty it since Firefox is using it, and if I quit Firefox to do that , another one appears when I relaunch the program. Applications folder has Firefox 4.0 in it, but I can't make this annoying .dmg go away. What to do?

Try to trash the current Firefox application and do a new installation.
    * Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop
    * Firefox 4.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
    * Install the new version that you have downloaded
Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder], so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data.

  • I went to Firefox reset and now I can't get into my email.

I downloaded a Firefox update and then my Mozilla Firefox would not work properly. So I hit Frefox reset button and now all I get when I click on the MF icon is the basic starter page. I can't get my email page.

First of all you will need to know the address of your webmail. Can you search for that in your bookmarks or History.
You could probably even find the logon page simply by typing your email address into a google search.
If the problem is that you know the address but you are unable to login try clearing the cookies for that site and reloading using keyboard shortcut Ctrl+F5

Presumably you have tried with IE and that allows access to the webmail.

  • I added firefox 4 and now I can not get my e-mails or any thing else.

I am not computer savy and I need help>

The "Add-Ons" screen should tell you whether the Norton 360 toolbar is disabled because of incompatibility with Firefox 4. If it is then you have two options:
    - you can install the "Add-On Compatibility Reporter" plugin. That will let you enable the Norton toolbar even though it is not supported, but then the toolbar might not work as expected (and it might introduce other problems as well).
    - or you can wait for Symantec to release a compatible version of the toolbar (recommended)

  • I somehow accidentally installed 'Fox Tab' and now I can't get rid of it. Any suggestions?

Every time I type words or an unrecognised URL into the address bar I get [http://search.foxtab.com this] this. My default engine is Google so I have no idea what this is or where it came from.
It isn't coming up in my list of Extensions or Add-Ons.

Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cache (and Clear History). You could also try turning on Block Pop-Ups on the same Settings page.
Also close Safari completely : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
You could also try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Just installed Firefox 18 and now when I hover over bookmarks they get blacked out, why ?

Just installed Firefox 18 and now when I hover over bookmarks they get blacked out, why?
Windows 7 ,Lenovo G580, 8Gb Mem, 4GB AMD radion graphics card, no other changes other than installing FF18

in this case the obvious other candidate would be an incompatible extension - can you disable them one-by-one to find out which one is interfering.
alternatively you could try to reset firefox (this will keep your bookmarks & passwords): [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems]]

  • Downloaded update for Firefox and now I can't get rid of AOL.

Downloaded update for Firefox and now I can't get rid of AOL. I have tried to delete anything associated with AOL and when restart Firefox.....there's AOL again. I even reinstalled Firefox.......there it was again.

Where does AOL show up -- home page?
I think the first thing to check is whether you have any AOL-related add-ons. These might override your regular settings. You can review and disable ALL nonessential or unrecognized extensions here:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Extensions category
Note that in most cases, you need to use the Restart Firefox link to actually deactivate the extension you chose to disable.
Next, to fix your home page, try the steps in this article: [[How to set the home page]].
If there is a problem with your search providers being switched from Google to AOL, try this extension:
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/searchreset/
    Any improvement?

  • TS3899 I just installed the latest software update on my iPhone this weekend (9/22/12), and now I can't get email. I've restarted and closed all my apps to no avail. I'm able to get email on my laptop, so it's not a problem with my provider. Any ideas?

Originally we were getting the error that the phone could not connect. Then, after deleting the account multiple times and re-adding it again, the error message CHANGED to having to log in to Yahoo and authorize.
When we went to Yahoo in a regular browser and logged in there was an alert telling us about connection attempts so it disabled mobile/iphone connectivity. It required that we change our password FIRST.
Then, we went in to Manage Apps and Webpages and saw that iPhone was not there but Facebook was.
After all of this went back to the phone and deleted then re-added the account again and SUCCESS!
It now also shows up on the Yahoo Manage Apps and Webpages.
Hope this helps someone else. Please consider giving me points if it does or like the post.

Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1
If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash
Install the App from the App Store.
Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.

  • I had to change my password for one of my Email addresses and now I can not get mail into Firefox.

I had to change my password for one of my Email accounts ([email protected]) and now I can not get the mail to go into Mozilla Firefox and I don't know how to change the password in Mozilla to get the mail into it.
I looked at how to change my password but the options you told me to use were not available. I clicked on tools then options but there was no sync tab or manage accounts either.

The login.salesforce.com website is using autocomplete=off to prevent Firefox from saving the name and password.
You can remove autocomplete=off with a bookmarklet to make Firefox save the name and password.

Your only option is to connect your iPhone to your computer via USB (as the diagram indicates) and restore using iTunes.
