Installed PSE 8 and am now unable to access RAW files through Camera Raw.

now cannot access Raw files through Camera Raw click
on Editor and the photographs open in Editor.
I have tried installing the upda
te 8bi in the plug-in and there was already a plug-in there.
PSE6 worked fine on this system. Any help appreciated.
Firstly thanks to the people who
offered help. This is what I did and somehow the problem is solved. I installed PSE 8 on my old machine with XP and an old Xerox monitor and it worked OK. I uninstalled PSE 8 from the newer machine on Vista. Made sure all the adobe files for pug-ins had gone then reinstalled. I then tested the screen resolution of my monitor a HP w1907v, smaller resolutions made no difference but opening it up to max did. When I wish to open a RAW file click open click the photograph and in the bottom file format box make sure you are asking for RAW files to be opened and 'bingo'. This upgrade for PSE 8 has the latest CameraRaw on it but the problem was there from the first installation so perhaps it is a combination of screen resolution and making sure the file format for opening is specified. So after hours of effort a satisfactory outcome. I probably confused the issue by installing the plug-in when there was no need. PSE 8 will last me a long time!!!

I have version 5.7 and every time I opened it I was told that updates are available and to click on the icon to access these. Instead it just took me to the
adobe page with nowhere visible to update. I then sought to download lightroom cc and this is when I could not access the 'develop' section due to reduced
functionality It was apparent that my photos had been put in cc but no way to access them unless I wanted to subscribe.
I have since remedied the problem as my original lightroom 5.7 icon is still available on the desktop and have gone back to that. I do feel that this is a bit
of a rip off and an unnecessary waste of my time though.

What specific, exact version of Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) plug-in?
What specific, exact versions of Bridge and of Yosemite?

Difference in displaying RAW files, between Camera RAW 5.3 and default preview...
Weird problem: when I import new RAW pics from my Canon (EOS 450D), they are previewed by the catalog viewer in very vivid and live colors. However when I try to edit them using Camera RAW 5.3, the INITIAL image that pops up is very dull... How come there is a difference in the algorithm when doing the "default" preview and the one used by the initial view of Camera RAW ?
I want to have the same "start" image in Camera RAW as shown by the default preview...
(I hope this is a clear enough exposition of the problem...)

Misha.The initial image that pops up is a low resolution .jpg preview that is embedded in the RAW file.
The duller version is indeed your unprocessed RAW photograph. Processing should make it look just as good, or better, than that .jpg preview. -
I opened up my RAW files into Camera RAW to edit and then wanted to save as a JPEG.
It would not process in Camera RAW. Then I opened up the files in Photoshop CC to save as a JPEG and it said I didn't have permission. HELP!

I have just been trying to import photos from mine and my husbands cameras but nothing seems to be happening. I get the message to wait while they are being imported but after 10-15 minutes, nothing has been uploaded. I have always had updates downloaded when they become available and can't think what I may have done wrong.
I hope someone out there can give me some advice. My mac is running Snow Leopard and I love it.As a Test:

Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there? -

If you have a serial number for CS5 then you can download it via this link: Download CS5 products
Also, make sure that it is uninstalled from your machine, Windows: Control panel>> Uninstall a Program
Mac: Go>> Applications>> Utilities>> Adobe Installers>> Uninstall CS5.

Importing and opening Phantom Vision FC200 Raw files in Camera raw 8.3
Any ideas as to when Adobe will ship/update the CR 8.3 filters so they actually work? All I get now is a distorted grey scale image.

i'm using a Nikon D610 now and Photoshop Elements 10 won't open files in camera raw. How can I fix the issue? The version of camera raw is 6.7.0339
Hi,
The D610 requires camera raw 8.3 which is not compatible with your PSE 10.
You need to upgrade to PSE 12 (or later) or use the free Adobe DNG converter. The converter will take a flder containg your NEF files and converte them to DNG files. The DNG files can then be used by PSE 10.

I installed OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 and have been unable to access my photos on iPhoto - in fact, I have been unable to even get iPhoto to open. I read that I should download iPhoto 9.6.1 but have been unable to even find it. There was a suggestion about going to users and groups and creating a new user, then trying to go to applications, purchases, and clicking on "update" - that did not work. Help.
On OS X Yosemite 10.10.3, Photos for OS X has replaced iPhoto in terms of your main Photo application.
While iPhoto is still technically on your computer, it is not available as a separate download from the Mac App Store anymore, unless it is under your Purchased Tab in the Mac App Store
You can import your iPhoto Library to Photos and all events (iPhoto Events), albums, etc. etc. will be the same.
