Installer build error code-21 Labview 8.6.1

While attempting to build an installer I get an error code -21. What is the error and how do I correct it?

I also have this problem.  The executable build itself works correctly, but the installer fails to build.  There are a number of DLL dependencies, but they are all included and present in the build and in the installer Source Files.  I put CDK.EnableLog=True in my LabVIEW.ini and logged the error from the installer build process.  Here is an excerpt from the relevant section:

I've also tried the same with a simple test application and it build/installs correctly, so I know it is my project somehow.  One notable difference is that I previously had namespace conflicts in the executable build that were resolved by the following these instructions:

I hope someone can help.  I need to deploy this application soon.

  • Installer Build Error

    Hi,
I am rebuilding an existing Labview application (originally done in LV8.6) using LabVIEW 2011. The application works in LV2011 as stand alone but when I try to build the installer, I get the error for which the details are in the attached text file.
Please help figure out the issue.

The issue with installer build is fixed. It wasn't able to read the drivers from the CD drive because the CD drive had gone bad.
We replaced the CD drive and it started working.

  • Installer Build Error using LV Runtime Engine 2010

I had an executable and installer working that were built in LV2009.  Since then I modified my source code and saved as LV version 2010.  I rebuilt the executable, but when I tried to run it on the target computer, I got an error message saying that LV Runtime Engine 2010 was needed.  So I tried to rebuild the installer using LV Runtime Engine 2010 as an Additional Installer.  However, this build was unseccessful and I got a lenghty error msg that I don't understand (see attached).
    Thanks in advance.

In the additional installer page: I see the installer source location (see attached image file) as 'C:\CBESVN\PSUTS\Software\builds\PSUTS Installer\Volume' which is really my installer's source location. But I am not sure how this location got assigned. I have tried to create new build spec from the same project, still the installer source location stays the same. How do I get this issue solved?

  • Windows 10 SDK 10.0.10069 : The installer failed. User cancelled installation. Error code: -2147023294

I get this error when installing VS 2015 Community RC.  I'm installing on Windows 10 build 10074.  I tried uninstalling VS and tried performing the steps from other known issues... Change > Custom > Select feature > Update.
I also get the other errors as well...
Emulators for Windows Mobile 10.0.10069 : The installer failed. User cancelled installation. Error code: -2147023294
Emulators for Windows Mobile 10.0.10069 : The installer failed. User cancelled installation. Error code: -2147023294

Same issue here, on a Surface Pro 3.
I've tried all I can think of, including a full reinstall of the OS (10074). Basically it always fails with the errors below.
Launching VS I do have the UAP templates installed, but not the emulators. I can create a new Windows Universal app no problem, however it shows up as a Windows 8.1 type in the properties pane. Missing lots of references so obviously nothing builds.
Tried installing the tools separately (the ones linked by Paul Chapman in a separate thread). These installed fine, and gave me the emulators (at least in the drop down, haven't been able to verify they work as nothing else works). Proceeded to "repair"
the VS install after this and at that point the install completed without errors, however nothing still works inside VS. Then proceeded to "modify" and remove any Universal app stuff, rebooted and reinstalled, only to get the same error again and
    back at square one.
Tried, as far as I can remember, fresh installs from both the ISO and webinstaller (as there was some talk about the ISO containing older code and missing some tools).
Spent a week trying to get a Win10 rig up now, to no avail. Previous builds (with CTP6) would give me a UAP mobile install error, which seemed linked to Hyper-V not working, however Hyper-V was working just fine...
Oh, and obviously - No, I did not cancel the install myself.

  • Known Issue: Emulators for Windows Mobile 10.0.10069 : The installer failed. User cancelled installation. Error code: -2147023294

Some users are receiving the following errors after Visual Studio setup completes
Emulators for Windows Mobile 10.0.10069 : The installer failed. User cancelled installation. Error code: -2147023294
Windows 10 SDK 10.0.10069 : The installer failed. User cancelled
    installation. Error code: -2147023294

We've fixed this issue, and have released an update as of 7PM PDT 30 April 2015.
New installs of Visual Studio 2015 RC should expect to no longer encounter this problem, unless
you lose your internet connection during installation. (That is, this error now indicates that the Windows SDK or Windows Emulator setup invoked by Visual Studio setup has lost internet connectivity and cannot download necessary files.)
To fix the issue, re-run setup and select the features "Universal Windows App Development Tools" and/or "Emulators for Windows Mobile" again.
If you have already installed Visual Studio and encountered this problem, you can now modify your Visual Studio installation to successfully install.
Go to Program & Features, select Visual Studio 2015 RC, and select Change. Click
Modify, then select the features "Universal Windows App Development Tools" and/or "Emulators for Windows Mobile", and click
    Update.
Note that "Universal Windows App Development Tools" will be already selected. This is expected. Keep it selected, and click
    Update.
An alternate solution is to install the Windows 10 SDK and Windows Emulators separately. Go to
https://dev.windows.com/downloads/windows-10-developer-tools. Scroll to the bottom of the page and install
the Windows 10 SDK and Windows 10 emulators outside of Visual Studio setup.
    Thanks!

  • LabVIEW load error code 1: LabVIEW load error code %Id: %p

One of my VI crashed while trying to save some data to file, I then tried to save the VI afterwards, but message with Out of Memory popped up again and the IV closed down. So now I can´t open my VI, then I try I get the "LabVIEW load error code 1: LabVIEW load error code %Id: %p" message and I have been given no opportunity to recover an older version of the VI then I close down and open LabVIEW again!!! So my VI is lost or what?
This is a huge problem for me, hope someone can help...
    Regards
    Jesper

    Hi Jesper
For the future you should be good with LabVIEW 2012 (Normally realeased after NI Week in Austin in beginning of August). From what I know about this problem it have not been mentioned to be solved in a fixpack before release of LabVIEW 2012.
If you are reading in large files that uses more memory than avaliable and do wan't to avoid LabVIEW from crashing then you could add more RAM to your PC. If you are using Windows 32-bit you could try to edit the boot.ini file for Windows to allow Windows to allocate more memory to LabVIEW as explained in the following article:
Extending Virtual Memory Usage for 32-bit Windows
     http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361H-01/lvhowto/enable_lrg_ad_aware/
You could also try upgrading to Windows 64-bit this will allow much larger memory operations, and Windows 64-bit will let LabVIEW allocate more memory.
To use Source Code Control on your computer you will need:
    1) A Source Code Control server with space to store the backup VI's and previous versions on (this can be your own PC). All Source Code Control providers that follow the Microsoft Source Code Control API. We have a list of tools that we have been tested that can be found here (note that some is free and other is not):
Which Third-Party Source Control Providers Can I Use with LabVIEW 8.0 and later?
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/26EC5904169430CE8625706E00743997?OpenDocument
    2) After installing the server you need to configure LabVIEW to communicate with this server. In the article below under the section "Configuring LabVIEW to Call the Microsoft SCC API" you can see how to do this:
    Software Configuration Management and LabVIEW
    http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/4114
    3) You are good to go. Source Code Control uses the two most know functions "Commit / Check out." When you Check out a document you will be able to edit it, and when you then commit the changes then it will be saved with a new version number on the server. For each commit you will be able to select "Revert to previous version" to go back and restore a previous commited VI. You can use these functions on the VI it self or as I prefer from the Project Explorer.
Bisides the advantage of being able  to restore previous versions, Source Code Control is also a great tool if your are multiple users working on the same project. You will i.e. be able to be 2 or more developers working on the same VI at the same time and then merging your changes to one VI when you are finished.

    and so on

    Hi brockmaa,
It seems that the files it needs to include the VISA runtime are not being found on your system. Try re-installing the correct version of VISA you need from:
    http://www.ni.com/nisearch/app/main/p/bot/no/ap/tech/lang/en/pg/1/sn/catnav:du,n8:3.25.123.1640,ssna...
and try to build the installer again and it should be able to find the correct files.

  • Error code 30155002 Labview 7.1 PDA

    Hello everyone,
I had a problem with my PDA.
I developped a little programe and stored my datas in an array. Then I showed these datas in a 'PDA XY Graph'. After about 2 hours of mesurement, my PDA had an error messager : "Application failed. Error code 30155002. Unable to allocate the memory..." at that moment, I have stored 1574 points in my array.
I think that maybe the memery of PDA is limited. But I am not sure of that. So I would like to know what dose this error message mean?
And what exactely the tail of the memory of PDA.
Thanks a lot for your answers!
         Sincerely!
         Zhang An

    Hello Zhang An,
    What is your OS ?
The considerations to take into account are different if you are working with Palm OS or Pocket PC:
    Palm OS Considerations
The following considerations can affect the way you design a PDA VI for
Palm OS devices, emulators, and simulators.
    • Palm OS is not multithreaded and has limited memory for programs.
    • Palm OS does not use a traditional file system. It stores data in memory
chunks called records that are grouped into databases. Expansion cards
    use a traditional file system.
    • Palm OS implements all files as databases and can have a maximum of
64,000 records in each database. Each record can be a maximum of
    64 KB in size.
    • Each VI within a PDA VI cannot be larger than 64 KB because of the
way Palm OS links the applications together. However, a top-level
PDA VI can contain several subVIs whose total file size is greater than
    64 KB.
The size of a PDA VI on the host computer is not an accurate indication
of how large it will be when you build it as a PDA application. When
you build a PDA VI into a PDA application, LabVIEW notifies you if
the file size is too large. Break up the VI into smaller subVIs to reduce
    the file size.
    • There is a total limit of 64 KB on all front panel array data.
    • Applications are limited to approximately 160 KB of heap, or dynamic
memory space, for everything except code. The application uses some
of this space to maintain state, so not all of it is available for data.
PDAVIs immediately terminate if they run out of memory. You can
use the PDA Memory VIs to manage the dynamic memory space.
    Pocket PC 2003 Considerations
PDA applications are limited to about 32 MB of space for everything
except code. The application uses some of this space to maintain state, so
not all of it is available for data. PDA applications immediately terminate
if they run out of memory.
    hope this helps
    Best Regards
    Alexandre D

One common fact here these servers have all been deployed from a Hyper-V template, servers build with all roles and features then Sysprep'd and stored in the SCVMM library as a template to deploy from.
Any ideas as right now it looks like we have to rebuild all of our nodes.
    Regards

OK I think the CheckSUR log issue was a one off, I've now run this again against one of my other Hyper-V template IIS servers that has the same issue with Add / Remove role features and the log reports "No Errors Detected"

  • DPS APP Builder Error Code 1

    Hello,
I'm getting an Error Code 1 message when trying to download the test APP from the DPS APP Builder. I've tried re-building the document (a process that takes almost 8 hours in my case as our APP features 110 articles including almost 1000 images), updating it, generating new certificates and any other workaround mentioned in a previous discussion about this same subject. Nothing worked for me.
The only workaround I haven't tried is deleting the folio from ~/Library/Preferences/StageManager.BD092818F67280F4B42B04877600987F01 11B594.1/Local Store/dmp.
Apparently, there's nothing called "StageManager" in my MacBook Pro. Not in this route neither in any other route.
Any idea about how to solve this? (if possible without re-building once again the whole document) We can't wait until the error code 1 bug is fixed in future Adobe updates as we need to submit the APP to Apple next week.
    Thanks for your time.

    Anyone can help??
    Update my latest experimental results.
I found that issue was folio package related.
Because when I use another folio package to the same app item in App Builder, this error message does not appear.
But the original package in exchange, this error information occurs.
Are there helpful to solve this problem?

  • Quicktime Installation Failed: Error Code : -3

Whenever I try to install Quicktime 7.03 and iTunes for Windows, I always get this error. iTunes appears to install, but iTunes won't run. I really need to get quicktime installed. Someone PLEASE help me.

Yes, so helpful. Like we haven't been told the above solution many times over before and it DOES NOT WORK.
Called Apple today, apparently they don't even monitor the 'Apple Support Discussions' so we're only talking to each other, not Apple.
However, to call Apple support you need an i-pod serial number in order to recieve any support. I'll be calling back later today with a serial for them. After an hour of going round and round in circles (a manager even hung up on me) I was able to get someone to look through their knowledgebase for this problem. They pulled up the 'windows install cleanup utility' solution and nothing else. Said I'd need a serial no before they take it any further.
When they're pushing this software to replace things like Winamp, Windows Media Centre, and when non-ipod owners have issues and receive no support at all... is it really worth running I-Tunes?
Every other previous experience with Apple support has told me they're absolute retards. Like a warranty claim on a failed hard drive which lost its entire contents... apple service centre said it wasn't faulty. I guess Apple are keeping to old standards.
Here are some links to other threads describing the same problem... but remember, its not a major issure right?

    After reviewing the FAQ:

I uninstalled Photoshop CC and re-installed it, after doing so the installation started the patch but failed it..
