Installing a font not from Typekit in Creative Cloud

Is there a way to save fonts to Creative Cloud that are not from Typekit, so that they can be available whenever you sign in to CC?

No, that is not currently a Creative Cloud feature.
Fonts must be installed on each individual computer for them to be available to CC applications (or they must be Typekit desktop fonts).

  • Fonts not displaying properly in Creative Cloud files

    I just noticed that fonts are not displaying properly in my Creative Cloud files.  The strange thing is, they continue to display correctly in files I uploaded prior to release - it's just in files I upload now that the fonts are reverting to some generic display font.
    For reference, here is a file uploaded before release:

    The display problem also applies to downloads of the newer file as a JPG, PNG or PDF, although the fonts are still present in the downloaded original file.  With the older uploaded file, download as PDF is not available (presumably because this was a release feature), but download as JPG and PNG outputs a file with the correct fonts intact.
    This is a serious problem, because it makes previews inaccurate as well as making the download feature almost useless.  Was it perhaps an unintended side-effect of turning on download as PDF?

    On a related topic, here's another Illustrator file with fonts displaying incorrectly, but this time it also has problems with the download links - the options for PNG, JPG and PDF do not appear at all.

  • Fonts synched from Typekit do not show up in fonts list.

    My Typekit Account is showing two fonts (Muscle Narrow & Wide), amongst others, as being synched. However, the two fonts named are not shown in my Creative Cloud Manager nor in the list of fonts in my Creative Cloud applications. I have not had this problem previously. Does anyone know what the problem is?

    I'm sorry that you ran into trouble with this.  I've confirmed that the font selections you mentioned are added to your account correctly.  To make sure that I understand: all the other fonts are showing up in the Fonts tab of the Creative Cloud application?  Only Muscle Narrow & Wide are missing?
    If you haven't done so already, would you please try turning off font sync in the Creative Cloud application, wait a moment, and then turn it back on?  The option to do this is under the gear icon in Preferences > Fonts ("sync on/off").  Sometimes the app just needs a fresh session for the fonts to appear again.
    If that doesn't make a difference, please send your recent sync log files to [email protected] so that we can take a look.  I'll include that information at the end of this email.

    * under the Go menu, select "Go To Folder"
    * in the window that opens, type:  /Users/(username)/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CoreSync/
    Remember to replace "(username)" with your own account name.
    (Or if you are comfortable working from the Terminal, cd to $HOME/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CoreSync/)
    On Windows:
    C:\Users\user name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CoreSync\
    Attach the 3 or 4 most recent CoreSync-yyyy-MM-dd.log files to an email. Please don't send a zip file, as they often get flagged as spam.

  • Adobe 2014.1 Not Showing in Adobe Creative Cloud App

    Hi Folks,
    I previously opened a similar discussion. Re: 2014.1 App Updates Not Showing Up in Creative Cloud. The solution in the aforementioned discussion does not work in this new context.
    1. Reimage laptop with clean Mavericks 10.9 install, with Adobe CC preinstalled using CCP 1.4 and pre serialized.
    2. Enter my Adobe ID into Adobe Creative Cloud App. My Adobe ID has a valid CC subscription.
    3. Adobe 2014.1 app updates do not show up, except for Muse 2014.
    4. The Adobe Creative Cloud App did not think that Photoshop or any of the other Adobe CC Apps were installed, because I was given the option to "Install Photoshop"
    5. So, I "installed" Photoshop from the Adobe CC app. Still no updates
    6. Uninstall, reinstall. No updates.
    7. Checked for the existence of AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat in
    Location: <Startup Disk>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AAMUpdaterInventory/1.0/AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat
    This file does not exist on my system: it's just not there. So that fix will not work.
    8. And yes, I logged in and out of Creative Cloud, and Quit the Adobe CC app and restarted. No luck.

    I am not sure about the CC Packager so the following is more general:
    What version of PS do you actually have installed? 
    PS CC 2014.2.1 is the current version.

  • I have a unique problem with Typekit and Creative Cloud

    I've had CC membership for a few months now and have downloaded it onto first a laptop then a desktop. I'm having trouble on the desktop. When I try to access and download typekit fonts through an application or creative cloud, I'm getting a message come up saying "internet explorer has stopped working" and the typekit website does not open properly. I'm therefore unable to access or browse for fonts. The typekit website does not respond and a message comes up saying so. Using windows 8 I can access internet explorer through the Apps page, and browse fonts that way, but it is frustrating and inconvenient not being able to go direct to the website through an adobe application or through creative cloud. Anyone ideas why? Appreciate any help, thanks.

    Well I downloaded google chrome to my PC which is what I use on my laptop, and it seems to be working. Not sure why Internet explorer wasn't working but so far google chrome is.

    I'm sorry you ran into trouble here. The screenshot you sent over didn't come through.
    Right now, desktop sync fonts aren't available to everyone. However, read about getting early acces and how to sign up here: http://blog.typekit.com/2013/08/08/sign-up-for-early-access-to-desktop-font-sync/
    If you have signed up for early access and the fonts aren't syncing, make sure you're using the most recent version of the Creative Cloud app.

    There is no discount if you install fewer products, however you can purchase subscriptions to indivdual products versus subscribing to Creative Cloud. This page has more info about which individual products are available.

    Plans can be setup for either yearly or monthly, you can purchase 3 month subscription cards which can being used towards either yearly or monthly plans.

    The plans are a commitment for that duration. You can upgrade from month to month to yearly or downgrade to month to month after your year long commitment was up.

    If you decided to go with the Creative Cloud you could install which ever apps you choose. You might want to double-check individual product system requirements if you were unsure of a specific product.

    The 30 day trial applies to both individual or products within the Creative Cloud trial, so if you used the 30 trial for an individual product it would still show as expired if you tried to use it within a Creative Cloud 30 day trial.

    I'm having a similar problem, but only with jpg's. I have PS CS6, CC, and CC 2014. Other image file formats function normally with regard to the "open with" list. PS CC 2014 appears on the list. But with jpg's only PS CC appears on the "open with" list and 2014 can't be added by the browsing for it.
    The curious thing is that if I have any of the three versions of Photoshop open, click on Photoshop CC in the "open with" list, the image opens in whatever version is already open on my computer. This is true of all image formats. No matter which version I pick from the "open with" list it opens in the currently running program. I use only the latest version so keeping it open all the time is an easy work around. I won't uninstall any of the earlier versions lest more file association quirks result. it would be nice to have this matter fixed.

  • Psd file does not show preview in Creative Cloud Assets Activity Tab

    I've tried to share a psd file however the preview will not show up in creative cloud assets under the activity tab. It only shows a blank page icon. Although, you can view the file in the extract tab. However, this is a problem because I need to be able to share the file with the client to be able to view and comment on it, and be able to switch between past and current versions. Right now they are not able to do that.  I am using Libraries as well and have smart objects placed from my Library.

    I purchased the 9.99 deal that includes photoshop and lightroom 5. Photoshop already showed that it was updated and I installed it. Lightroom is not showing up on creative cloud.     Aes8611 please see CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/aam-lists-removed-apps-date.html for steps on how to resolve the Creative Cloud desktop application listing Photoshop Lightroom as installed.
    Also please make sure you meet or exceed the system requirements for Photoshop Lightroom at http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-lightroom/tech-specs.html.  If you do not meet or exceed the system requirements then you will not see the application listed in the Creative Cloud desktop application.

    I work with an Inventory module software and is responsible for software detection across several computers. Once an updated version comes up, I update our database with latest software details to get it detected if installed on any machines.
    The problem tracking updates with Desktop Creative Cloud Software are;
    1)We have to have it installed with the CC applications in-order to get the notification of the latest updates and have to check everyday.
    2)Only relates to the latest updates, so in-between we may miss a prior update unknowingly.Hence, the remote machines having those updates may not get  detected with the software version update which would create problem in reporting.
    3)For all CC products, there is no base or previous updates available for installation if we miss one.
    I went through the Adobe Products Update pages [Product updates] which holds good when it comes to Acrobat and Reader software which I follow to track down any newer updates but this is inconsistent when it comes to CC products like in After Effects CC, Dreamweaver CC etc...
    So overall to be very specific, is there any one channel I can follow to get the notifications only for the updates on CC products and then may be I can rely on Desktop Creative Cloud for installation if not available anywhere like in product update pages of Adobe ?
