Installing batch 10.1.0.4.0

Hi,
I installed the batch 10.1.0.4.0 to my 10g db 10.1.0.2.0 at single server (no RAC)
to make it as backup server for my running RAC db
after installing the batch , it ask about RAC,
I need to Install the batch to work right within single machine
thanks much

you should bypass steps for RAC configuration, then it will apply for single instance only.

Reza

  • Post-Install Batch File Won't Run

Ok here's the deal. I have created an application that needs a little "cleanup" after the installer finishes. To handle this operation, I created a batch file and told the LV installer to run it after the installation. This works fine on every computer I have tried it on ---
    Except One
Thinking that there might be a problem related to the commands themseloves, I added echos to a log file to save any errors that might occur and to save basic information like paths. However on that ONE computer I don't get the log file even being created, which says to me that the batch is not being executed. However, If I go to the installation direcctory and run it manually, it runs, it does what it is supposed to do and it  stops.
The computer this happens on is a corporate laptop that is configured interms of security and permissions like every other corporate laptop.
I am officially confused. Any ideas? WAGs? Suggestions? Recommendations?
    Mike...

I remember years ago when this feature first came out I tried it with a batch file and I thought it didn't work, and that it only supported running an EXE not thing else.  Since then they apparently fixed that.  So my only suggestion is maybe to try to run an EXE instead of a batch file?  Of course it sounds like it is working on other machines so I doubt that is it.
What about UAC?  You say it is a corporate machine so I doubt you can, but maybe lower the UAC to nothing and see if it works.  Of course if it doesn't that probably isn't a good solution.
Anti-virus running?  Some have a log of the things it blocks, and it might list the fact that it prevented a batch file from running.
The only time I ever used this feature on an EXE I don't remember it not running on the dozen or so PCs I used it on.

  • CS3 InDesign & Illustrator Install Exit Code 7; Other CS3 Apps Install Fine

I feel like I'm beating a dead horse... (no offence to horse lovers out there - it's just an expression)
I'm having trouble performing an silent install of the CS3 suite from a network share on Windows 7.  I've read through a number of posts on here, one of which was a 3 page post on this issue where Mac & Win 7 users alike posted failures, successes and how they got there, and another about removing the OS check feature from the application.proxy.xml file (which didn't work for me; unless I did something wrong...?)  Unfortunately for me after trying much of what was suggested, I'm still facing a brick wall.
All these machines are Core 2 Duo's clocked at no less than 2.2GHz, have 4GB of RAM, have over 100GB of free disk space and are running fully updated/patched installations of Windows 7 32-bit (x86) with Office 2007 Enterprise.
When I try to install the suite silently it fails with 'Exit Code: 7', which according to the CS3_Deployment.pdf means "Unable to complete the silent workflow."  If I take out the "--mode=silent" switch, the GUI launches and installs fine.  I took a look at the compressed log file & searched for "Return value 3", "ERROR" and "FATAL" for clues, but its vague and nondescript.  I didn't copy/paste the entire log in this post for brevity's sake, but you can check it out here:
    Condensed Version: http://pastebin.com/eFKpe9wK
    Unabridged Version: http://pastebin.com/MQDeQZmF
Instead, however, I do want to touch on just a few things from the log:

I've got some initial questions that pertain to what's in the log file:
The areas in bold:  Since the same install also fails on Windows XP machines, what does this mean exactly?
The areas in italics: Can anyone expand on what that means?
The underlined areas: What 'Policy' is this referring to: Setup's own internal policy (like the OS check) or something else?
Here's what I've done so far:
Went through the 'Run a silent installation of Adobe Creative Suite 3' document
Went through the 'Troubleshoot installation with install logs | CS3, CS4' document
Used the Adobe Support Advisor to go through the logs, but it always says that no problems are found.
Recreated the install & uninstall XML files, twice, via the "setup.exe --record=1" method for each application & the entire suiteNot that I think this is important, but I was never prompted to enter a serial number when creating the .XML files.
Renamed the XML files for each application (e.g.: Photoshop-install.xml; CS3Suite-install.xml; Flash-remove.xml etc.)
Copied the XML files to a common folder on a network share (e.g.: \\path\to\Adobe\Design Premium CS3\Adobe CS3\XMLs)
Created install batch files for each application, including the suite, that install via the following command"\\path\to\Adobe\Design Premium CS3\Adobe CS3\Setup.exe" --mode=silent --deploymentFile="\\path\to\Adobe\Design Premium CS3\Adobe CS3\XMLs\Photoship-install.xml"
Tried the installs with & without the "--skipProcessCheck=1" switch but there's no change.
No applications are running during the installs.
Verified my application.xml.override file was in \\path\to\Adobe\Design Premium CS3\Adobe CS3\payloads\AdobeDesignSuitePremiumen_US_Volume
Verified I didn't have any strange characters in my application.xml.override fileI deleted and manually retyped all double quotes just to be sure.
I noticed that the "installSourcePath" property in the install.xml files created point to a local location rather than, what I would expect to be, the installation source folder where I copied the contents of the DVD to.  On a whim I changed it to point to the copied DVD files but that didn't seem to help either so I changed it back.
    FROM: <Property name="installSourcePath">C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Installers\498b43b77cac072081a5692bfc52804</Property>
    TO: <Property name="installSourcePath">\\path\to\Adobe\Design Premium CS3\Adobe CS3</Property>
Aside from Acrobat Reader 9.4.0, Adobe Flash Player 10 (ActiveX & Plugin) and maybe Shockwave 11, these machines never previously had any other Adobe products installed.
For what its worth, uninstalling Acrobat Reader 9.4.0 doesn't seem to help either.  I didn't try removing Flash Player or Shockwave [yet].
Using the install XML files I created via "setup.exe --record=1", when I run installs for the individual applications silently [via batch files] one at a time, all applications install fine except for Illustrator and InDesign: Exit Code 7.
This may further help suggest my application.xml.override file is fine.
Even more interesting is that I get the same error on Windows XP and Windows 7 machines alike.  (See the image below taken from an XP machine; the same happens on Windows 7 machines so it doesn't appear this problem is OS specific.)
Other than removing Flash Player, Shockwave and ripping out our Anti-Virus solution (Sophos), which is going to be difficult, is there anything I've missed?
Anyone have suggestions on why Illustrator and InDesign don't install?

I spoke with Adobe Support today and was directed to this support article:
    CPSID_84332 - http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/843/cpsid_84332.html
Although this article speaks to CS5 installations, even though I thought I made it clear that I was working with CS3, I decided to give it a shot anyway.
The first comment passively suggests troubleshooting [all] "install errors using Creative Suite 5 install logs", which links you to CPSID_84451 - http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/844/cpsid_84451.html.  But again, its CS3 I'm having trouble with and I've already linked, what I believe to be, a more appropriate CS3 [and CS4] log troubleshooting document in my first post.
Step 1 requires restarting "your computer in a minimized state before running the installer." - This isn't at all optional nor ideal when we're talking about silent installations, especially when they can take place in the middle of the day - its highly distruptive, or deployments in general.  Plus, I'm not interested in developing a package that will perform the steps outlined and then undo everything.  Its important to note that this isn't a one-off problem: every machine that needs to have CS3 installed experiences this problem.  But for what its worth:
I did as instructed in the troubleshooting documentation but it didn't work.
No other applications fail to install, and all but these lone Adobe CS3 apps install fine; what gives?
Step 2 is to perform a repair installation of the Windows Installer.  (FYI: Windows 7 ships with 5.0, my version is 5.0.7600.16385, and for the record there doesn't seem to be a redistributable download available at this time.)  I can't use this as part of my silent installation package because it calls you to run `sfc /scannow` which is time consuming and, if something is found, often requires a reboot.  Fortunately for me, "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."
Step 3 is to preinstall Adobe Air and the AdobeHelp payloads:
AIR isn't part of the CS3 DVD, it has to be downloaded & installed silently (via -silent -eulaAccepted if you don't have the redistributable package); this was done but didn't help.
There isn't an 'AdobeHelp' payload, only 'AdobeHelpViewerAll', which will not allow a manual instalation so I can't do that.
In summary, these tips unfortunately did not solve the problem.

  • Cannot create an OracleConnection programmatically with C#

Using Visual Studio 2008 and C# on a Windows VISTA SP1 development machine. I have installed the latest InstantClient and the additional SQLPlus files on the dev machine then followed install instructions to the best of my knowledge.
I am working on a windows application that uses ODP and I also want to use the Oracle 11g ODAC 11.1.0.6.21 with Xcopy Deployment for the clients. I have run the install batch file with the "all" command and used the defaults, then I added the paths to the windows system path varible. I want to use the EZCONNECT connection string. I keep reading the following :
"All you need to do is add/modify this to your sqlnet.ora
    NAMES.DIRECTORY_PATH = (TNSNAMES, EZCONNECT)
And now you can use the following syntax to connect
    sqlplus user/password@//host:[port]/service name"
but I do not see this in the XCOPY deployment instructions. Am I missing something? Do I need to create this sqlnet.ora file and where does it get put if it is needed. Or is it needed at all?
Update : When I try to create a new OracleConnection in C# code, I get a "Connection string is not well-formed" error.
This line of code is failing with the error : Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleConnection cn = new Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleConnection( "SCOTT/password@MyServer/ORCL")
I have tried this connection string in both of the below formats with the same results:
    1) CONNECT SCOTT/password@MyServer/ORCL
    2) SCOTT/password@MyServer/ORCL
I did download the SQLPlus that matches this version of InstantClient and it does work with this command line :
    1) C:\oracle\sqlplus.exe SCOTT/password@MyServer/ORCL
I am able to query the Emp table in the Scott schema and get records back. What am I missing here? Why will SQLPus work and my applicaion not. Do I have to do something on the sqlnet.ora file with EZCONNECT as the above post states.
Need some help from you Oracle gurus out there. I know some of you have run into this. Thanks...

Hi guys to keep from cross posting, I would like to point this thread to this thread which has a solution but not an explanation.

I wish some of you Oracle gurus could explain to me why the EZCONNECT format connect string will not work from within ODP.Net after viewing the above thread. Thanks...

  • Automatically create user private library

    Hi,,

Was it possible to automatically create the Private Folder in the previous OCS version ?

  • How to email all BPs who received an invoice this week

I would like to send an email to all BPs that received an invoice between two date ranges. I can write the query, but how do I get B1 to send each one an email with their information?
    Thank you

    Hi Sal,
there is no mass (e)-mailing function in SAP implemented. We have an addon for layout design & printing, that allows to install batch jobs and auto email marketing documents.
e.g. Instead of printing invoices, we are automatically sending all invoices by mail.
Instead of this, you could create a small macro that query your records and use e.g. outlook for mailing a template.

  • Could my recovery media be damaged? Would new media help me?

I've received no help with this problem as posted previously, so I thought I'd try again...with a different tack.
    Previous post: http://laptopforums.toshiba.com/t5/Windows-Vista-XP-Win7-beta/Help-Windows-never-completes-Factory-R...
Could my restore media created from the disk partition, be somehow damaged? I've done this install with this machine half dozen times and the actual Windows portion always seems to complete properly...but when the final Toshiba Information Systems piece runs...things seem to just freeze after the 2nd or 3rd restart.
There must be a portion of the install batch files that are not completing. For instance, the pointers to B2.bat & splash.exe are not being deleted from the all users startup folder, and they should be at some point...so the system starts...and either hangs forever (I let it go 7 hours once...) OR the machine just reboots after 2 or 3 minutes & either hangs or reboots...again...etc.
Hang condition can only be closed by powering off the machine manually...not a good thing in setup.
As stated in the other post, I can run the machine with no problems in safe mode or with BartPE. Runs just fine & will stay up for hours...with no issues. However...PE or Safe mode is not the way to use these machines...
My question to those who know this machine brand better than I... Will a new set of media fix this?
    HELP!!!
    SetiRich

    Thanks Techman & Defender,
I ordered the disks (they're not expensive) and will try the WinRepair suggestion in the meantime. Pretty sure it's not mem or disk issues, since I've tested memory with MemTest 2.01 (2 passes...no errors) and the disk with BartStuff off a BartPE disk I keep around....5 hours of continuous pattern writing & reading & ... No errors there either...
Actually, I think it may be that the disks I created somehow where flaky..Also I created them while in safe mode, the only way I could get the machine to operate...other than with the BartPE disk...so it would seem (?) that most of the major h/w issues are OK...anyway..I'll let you know which & how things go as I continue my experiments with this device...

I can use RAA to login in the express server.
but i can't user batch manager.
    The error message is
"The Selected Express Server Does Not Have the Batch Job Manager Server Installed"
i've searched metalink and found some Solution.
    Note:125933.1
    NOTE:1013698.102
the problem is still exists,i can't resolve it.
    anyone know the problem?

I would recommend that you work with Support on this. However, it does sound like you only need to install Batch Manager on the Express Server side.

  • Cc debug flag "-g" performance impact ?

    Hello,
I am compiling c and cpp programs using "cc" and "CC":
    $ uname -a
    SunOS name 5.10 Generic_127111-06 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-V490
    $ cc -V
    cc: Sun C 5.10 SunOS_sparc 2009/06/03
    $ CC -V
CC: Sun C++ 5.10 SunOS_sparc 2009/06/03I use the option "-g" to enable debugging when using dbx.
I would like to know whether there are impacts on the performance of the binary if this option is used ? and whether it is safe to install batches compiled with -g on a production environnement ?
Thank you very much for the reply.

For C++, if you use no optimization, the -g option disables inlining of functions declared inline. The -g0 option enables inlining of functions declared inline. You cannot step into or see the source code of a function that has been inlined.
The C compiler inlines functions only at high optimization levels, independent of the -g option.
For C and C++, the -g option does not otherwise affect performance when you use no optimization.
If you compile with -xO3 or above, the -g (and -g0) option disables some optimizations, and the details vary with the compiler release, and possibly with compiler patches. The effects are often minor. Tail-call removal is one example. We are working toward not disabling any optimizations with -g.
At high levels of optimization, the optimizer can inline functions on its own, whether they are declared inline or not. You cannot step into or see the source code of a function that has been inlined.
You can distribute code that has been compiled with -g, but some details of your code will be exposed to anyone with a debugger. (Not the actual source code, of course.) You can use the "strip" command to remove the debug data before shipping the application. The code will be the same, but the descriptive information used by the debugger will be removed (and the file will be smaller). Run the command "man -s 1 strip" for more information.

  • Help, how to install jvm and set the classpath using a batch file

    hello,
i have created my java application and now have to create an installable / batch file which will install the JVM on the users machine and also the java packages such as javamail and the class files that i have created . it also has to set the classpath.
i would like to know if anyone can tell me how to go about iti.e. how can i install the JVM using a batch file and then place the javamial packages etc in the apropriate directory .
or is it advisable to explain it to the user how to go about it in tht user manual.
and would also like to know that if i install the JVM will the path for the java.exe be set
or will i have to set the path explicitly from the "batch file" so that the user can run the application without and problem just by running the java command followed by filename from the command prompt.

    hi,
I have windows and I use it.
The only problem with the free edition is that you can only create 1 launcher and that during the installation you get 1 popup showing that the installer was created with an unregistered version.

  • How do i install ViewMail 7 as a batch process?

    Environment:
    ViewMail 7.0(2)
    Microsoft Outlook 2007
    MS Exchange 2007
    Unity 7.0(2)
    CUCM 7.1.3.30000-1
    Hello,
I was just wondering if there is a way to deploy viewmail to client PCs en masse. I have about 150 users that I need to install view mail on, and I would rather find a way of doing this as a batch process, as opposed to walking to every workstation and performing the task manually.
I have created a script that will allow me to install viewmail, but I have to specify the extension for each and every person, which of course, defeats the purpose of a script in the first place.
    Thanks very much.
    Sincerely,
    Deepak Dalal

    Hi -
Here's what I recommend - use your script as you indicated to populate the majority of common registry settings for ViewMail for all users - i.e. Unity server name, Record and Playback settings, etc.  For the extension, include this information in a user welcome note that gets sent to the users the morning of the phone cutover.  You can include a screenshot with instructions for the ViewMail General Options tab.  Users have to enroll in voicemail anyway and we have found they adapt easily to entering their extension number as part of the enrollment process.  From experience, we have observed that users have problems entering the Unity server name, either misspell it or enter the wrong IP address, which is why I recommend you include this information in the script.  Also, scripts can be deployed to a number of workstations using Active Directory Group Policy or via software distribution application like Microsoft SMS or Altiris.
    Sincerely, Ginger

    Hi,
Our firm using HP Printers and we need to deploy printer in Citrix Environment where setting does not save to the Base PC Image.
Because our Environment is Citrix (User Settings and Printer are deployed when user login).
Can we build the setting into the Base PC Image for All users?
Printer get install when using login.
Problem that I am encounter right now are:
    1. How to correctly identify all tray from each printer.
    2. How to set all paper tray to A4
I am currently using Powershell Script to install printers during login, all the printer driver has been installed to the Base PC Image.
But the trouble I have is when the script run to completion.
    It only added the printer.
I've been googling, but I can't find a way to detect printer tray or how to set all the tray to A4.
I don't mind using any type of script/batch file or even program.
Any of the following language is C#, VB.NET, powershell, vbscript or Event Access to HP API ?
    Our Environment:

Most of those printers are commercial grade printers.  It would be best to post in the commercial LaserJet forums.

    We use
BatchPatch for this sort-of thing.  You should take a look at it to see if it solves your problem.
