Installing downloads to change default font size???

Hello all,
I am in desperate need of some guidance on the proper way to install a download from the market place. I am blind as a bat and cannot see the default font on any menu. I found "Font Changer" and it said in the description that one would be able to have some control and be able to change font size to be larger and more readable. I found sense analog clock which is big enough for me to read (Thank Goodness) and handcent for texting so I can at least read the texts coming in, although at this point texts come in and I not sure yet why, probably a default setting, but type is to small to read! So let's just say that I am kinda a dummy when it comes to this Droid Pro and making it a user friendly phone. FORMER BLACK BERRY USER!! I am trying desperatley to keep this phone and not end up returning it...out of frustration of my inability to be able to see or read the phones menus, etc.  I guess I am just trying to find a relatively easy way to find, install, and use the ability to make bigger fonts on phone!! I welcome ANY advise or direction!! I just know I NEED HELP!!
Thank you very much, I am really glad there is a forum for us here who are not quite up to speed.
Sincerely.
Eugene, Oregon

Hello ^^ I used to use an app called Go SMS. It was a messaging app that you could customise and stuff. It's easy to change the fonts using that if you want it for just messsages ^^ I used to use ADW Launcher and ADW Launcher X too and I can't remember but I believe you might be able to change font size there? I know you can change the size on the home screen. But since I used the droid 1, it slowed my phone down so I stopped using it all. But I think if your phone has a larger processer it should work find. I think. OTL Good luck!

    Hi there!
    I have a problem with my macbook pro MC700. I got 23' monitor, keyboard and mouse connected to it, but system fonts are too small and it's hard to read em, how can I change font size? In windows7 even default fonts are bigger and there is an option to control em making even bigger for easy read and so on, where these settings in mac os x 10.6.8?

    For things like filenames, you can adjust that in the View Options screen for the Desktop or any active folder. You can access View Options via the View menu, or by pressing Command-J
    There is no setting to adjust the size of the font used in the menubar.
    Some programs allow you to adjust default font settings - check in the Preferences for each program for that setting.

    Hello, I am using the POI API to generate an Excel workbook. Is there a way to apply a font size over the entire workbook? or at least on a sheet by sheet basis? For instance, it seems to always default the size to 10, but I'd like it to be 8 pt.

    I was a PC/linux user and have switched to use Mac lately (MBP Snow leopard 10.6.8).
    Everything's been running perfectly on Mac so far and I really like it, until I have to run some programs on XQuartz/X11 (XQuart 2.7.0).
    The default font size in the Xterm is too small. And I hate it that I have to change it everytime i open a new terminal (via vt fonts menu, ctrl+right-mouse click).
    Is there a way to change the default font size "permanently" in XQuartz/X11 ??
    This may be a stupid question to ask in the developer forum but i cant really solve it.
    There's only config. file ~/.Xdefaults they have mentioned so far on Google but i really cant find it regarding to the directorty.
    Thank you very much in advance.

    You would be surprised to find out that is not like this, to get your account blocked you really need to do a lot of damage and posts are not removed unless they are illegal, and *always* it needs more than a person to delete something. That's a site managed by the community, not by some people put in place by a company.
    It is always acceptable to link to external resources as long these resources do provide additional usefull information. Clearly the thread on that side contained much more information than the one here. I observed people linking from there to this forum, but it's not so common, and that's not due to the policy, just because here is more chat and less usefull information.... you will not see endless threads of replies on with "yes, I have the same problem" there.
    Shortly, this is "discussions" and is quite different in approach than the SE model, where everythign is aimed towards getting the be answers UP and removing all the nonsense.
    I wish that Apple would invest more in discussion, and going towards making this more practical.

  • How do you change default note size font

    I accidentally posted this for iWork previous to 08, sorry. I want to change the default font size for all notes in a file. I realize you can change them one slide at a time by using Cmd-+or-, but I don't want to have to do every one separately since I'm just trying to record a narration. Likewise I still have no answer to how one sees presenter notes on the slide while recording a narration! Help!

    Thanks, Sam. Yes, I could easily change the individual slides, too, but there seems to be a rather large hole in the program, if you're promoting this for kiosk use or even just being able to send to possible interested parties without being present and therefore you want to narrate it. AARGH! Is there NO one at Apple who even occasionally looks at it's own forums! And it's not in the Knowledge database either.

  • How can I stop Mail 5.2 changing my default font size in my signature in outgoing mail

    I have my default font size for messages and signature in messages both set as Century Gothic 10.
    When I send an email the message and signature font both appear correct in my saved "sent" email.
    However the receiving computers receive my email with part ot the message text in Times New Roman 8, and the signature appears in Century Gothic 13!!!!!
    I notice many others have had this problem but I have not seen a solution. Please help. The emails look very unprofessional.

    "Indicate that an email message isn’t junk
    Click the Junk folder in the sidebar.
    Select a message, then click the Not Junk button in the top right of the message window.
    The message is moved to your Inbox. Subsequent email messages from the same sender are no longer automatically marked as junk."
    Elsewhere in Apple's help system, they say
    "You can also use the Mail app to mark messages as junk so that later messages from the same sender are automatically marked as junk:
    In OS X, select the message and click the Junk (thumbs down) icon in the Mail toolbar."
    They do not say that you can use Mail.app to unflag junk ("report false positives") by clicking the Not Junk (thumbs down) icon, but they also do not say that you cannot. I'm not sure whether that works.
    Frankly it makes no sense to have to log on to iCloud to do this, when the very same features (i.e., "Mark as Junk" and "Mark as Not Junk") are built into Mail.app -- but don't reliably appear when messages are falsely marked as junk.
    Bottom line: Although I love my Apple products, this is another one of the many features that's been broken for years -- and somehow just isn't imporant enough to Apple to fix.

  • I can't get into the settings for fonts. How do I do that to change the font size?

    I had downloaded the latest updated version of Firefox and I ended up syncing it to my Android phone. I went into some kind of settings dialog and accidentally changed my font and text settings and now I can't read any of my Gmail that's in my account on my desktop computer-it's too small. I'm trying to figure out how I can get into the content settings (I have the print out of what I'm to do once I get into the 'options' on the content settings page, but I don't know how to bring up the content settings menu/page). I use my desktop PC for work purposes and I can't use it with the font and text settings the way they are now. I also read where questions are being answered, but no one knows how to find the answers to the questions people are asking. How do we get to the answers that people give us about the question we have asked?
    I hope you can help me ASAP so I can change what I need to ASAP. I work on my pc 24/7 for work and it's not helping me when I can't read emails and I can't fix the problem.
    Thanks!

    Hi!
    I followed the directions that were given to me in this forum. The only difference on my desktop PC computer after you click on the three lines at the top right of the screen after signing into your g-mail account, it will bring up the menu and you click on the 'Options' tab. I'm on G-mail and I'm running windows 7 Home Premium; there wasn't a preference tab and the percentage was already set at 100%. It takes you straight to the options menu. You then click on the 'Content' tab if it's not already open, change your font and font size to what you want, and then click OK. It reset those items for me and now I can read my emails. I noticed if you change the font type and size to something other than Times New Roman-size 16 (default font & size), you may have to change the size of font to a higher number (i.e. Arial-18 font size). You just have to adjust them for your preference if you want something other than Times New Roman-font size 16.
    Thanks for the help and info. It worked.

  • Change application font size in Thunderbird 3.

    How can I change the font size in Thunderbird 3? The bold fonts are to bold and the general font size is to big I think.
    I have tested with creating a chrome folder in the default profile. The userChrome.css looks like this. But it didn't work.
    * Edit this file and copy it as userChrome.css into your
    * profile-directory/chrome/
    * This file can be used to customize the look of Mozilla's user interface
    * You should consider using !important on rules which you want to
    * override default settings.
    * Do not remove the @namespace line -- it's required for correct functioning
    @namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* set default namespace to XUL */
    * Some possible accessibility enhancements:
    * Make all the default font sizes 20 pt:
    * font-size: 20pt !important
    /* Global UI font */
    font-size: 6pt !important;
    EDIT: Seems like the bold font is a more global problem. This is from Firefox
    I have installed the ubuntu patched fonts. My ~/.fonts.conf looks like this.
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <!DOCTYPE fontconfig SYSTEM "fonts.dtd">
    <fontconfig>
    <match target="font" >
    <test compare="more" name="weight">

    Yes of course. My bad.
    Here it is. Some of the entries don't have a corresponding entry in conf.avail. I accidentally deleted 10-autohint.conf from conf.avail when I meant to delete it in conf.d. Ho do I get it back?
    Have tested lxappearance to change the font in GTK applications. Works, but the boldness is not looking very good yet.

  • Want to change the font size but add-on not recognised

    I want to change the font size on my e-mails but this is done by an add-on which Windows does not recognise. It's something to do with codecs - can anyone help please.
    Cheers
    Graham

    Changing the font in emails you compose and read can be set in your Thunderbird and does not need an addon.
    Tools > Options > Display
    More info on fonts:
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Font_settings_in_Thunderbird
    There is an Addon which can be used called ' Theme Font & Size Changer 7.7 ' :
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/theme-font-size-changer/
    * Download to desktop or 'downloads' folder.
    * In Thunderbird, 'Tools' > 'addons' to open up add-ons Manager in a new tab.
    * click on the daisy wheel icon and select 'Install addon from file'
    * locate and select the .xpi file you downloaded and click on 'Open'.

  • My default font size is set at 18px. Is this the default default font size for all users of ff 3.6+?

    I was developing a site in ff when I noticed other browsers were rendering the font size smaller than in firefox. Upon investigation I discovered that my ff 3.6 default font was Adobe Caslon Pro Bold 18px.
    I have never deliberately set this. My understanding was that all browsers default default font size was 16px.
    Has ff default font size changed from 16px to 18px?

    You're welcome.
    You can also see preferences that have changed as bold (user set) values on the about:config page.<br />

  • How do I set default font size?

    Some programs (most importantly for me, Thunderbird) use a default font size that is too small for my eye comfort. Some (such as Firefox) allow me to change the font size, but Thunderbird does not (though there is a menu item to change font size, which does not work).
    I gather that such programs are using a default system font size. So I would like to change this. Some Help articles suggested that I could do this from the Font Panel, but they give no indication where to find the Font Panel. I cannot find it in System Preferences or via the Spotlight.
    I am using OS X 10.4.7
    I am computer-literate, but new to the Mac, having had this computer for about a week and a half.
    P.S. In Thunderbird -> Preferences -> Fonts there is an option to configure the fonts used by Thunderbird. The settings affect messages, but not the main window with the message list. However, at this point I'd really like to set the system default so all programs that use the system default will be affected.
    Thanks.
    Daniel

    This still does not work.
    I tried all of them.
    Theme Font & Size Changer
    Big Buttons
    Default FullZoom Level
    NoSquint.
    It only works for that page of that web site, as soon as you leave you start all over again.
    Can't we just say Firefox messed up and needs to revert to the way it used to work without have to do ANYTHING to adjust any sizing.
    This is utterly ridiculous.
    It's a web browser for GOD sakes...not the OS. It shouldn't be doing anything but displaying web sites with NO INTERVENTION by the user for each and every page.
    Why are programers always looking for ways to take a working product and make it useless???

  • How do I change the font size on Adobe Reader 8.1.2

    I recently purchased an HP  laptop running Vista. It came with Adobe Reader 8.1.2.  I can't change the font size in a form that I am filling out.  I can cut& paste a different font size into the form but not change the font size.  Someone said that it is a free download so I won't be able to change the font size. Does anyone know a fix?

    To change the font size in PDF forms, one needs to have Adobe Acrobat rather than Adobe Reader.

  • Can I change PDF font size in ibook

    I downloaded a PDF file into ibooks but the font is too small. I don't want to zoom in because then I have to move the file left to right right to left. I would like to change the font size and the document should repaginate itself. Is that possible? otherwise how can you read a full pdf page in the iphone screen?

    Generally, one of the reasons people use PDF is because it doesn't repaginate. So complex, graphic-heavy layouts stay how they were designed.
    So if the PDF file doesn't offer the same "aA" icon that an ePub file does, I don't think you can upsize the text. (I don't have any PDF files in iBooks at present to really test this, but Apple's KB here says users cannot change font size with PDF: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4168 ).
    Look for a text or ePub version of the PDF, or Tip #5 here suggests you might be able to convert it yourself:
    http://www.macworld.com/article/153615/2010/08/automator.html
    otherwise how can you read a full pdf page in the iphone screen?
    some people are more willing to strain their eyes than others. I've managed it.
