Installing EBS R12 for Educational purpose ???

Hi there,
I Want to install the EBS R12 for an educational purpose, or in another way just to demonistrate the Installing of it for Students, So is there is a way to install it in one farm without having server hardwares requirements(written below)?? and what about licenses Screen can I skip it ? (which i don't have for sure because im not a company), and Is there is a way to get a meta link support Account without being a company ?? or how much it cost if i want to buy it ...
anyway im welling to install it in this Software & hardware requirements :
Win server 2003 ??( does it need perl installed to Apply some perl scripts ?)
intel core2due 2.0 X 2 with 1.5 GB ram , HD as they wrote from 76GB - 161 GB ( please aproximate the size it needed for this installation due to lack of space )

The beta is unlikely to have any bugs that would affect a student type usage. The fact that
it's now in Beta would lead me to believe that the full release is not far away - after all,
it is the same codebase - they just take things out!
You can deploy, distribute and even sell your apps developed on XE.

Trying to Installing EBS R12.1.1 on Windows XP 32 Prof SP3

For the last one month I am trying to install EBS R12.1.1 on Windows XP 32 Professiional SP3
with the help of different post from this Forum, so thanks to all who belives in sharing knowlegde.
Now i am at Step 3 of 5
at 53% of

Linking error in OElinux 5.4.1 while installing EBS R12.1.1

i am installing EBS R12.1.1 in Oracle enterprise linux 5.4.1
i have done all pre steps and created stage area . while insatlling the EBS it shows ERROR

Please make sure you have xorg-x11-libs* installed.
Oracle E-Business Suite Installation and Upgrade Notes Release 12 (12.1.1) for Linux x86 (Doc ID 761564.1)
Also, for "libXtst*" please make sure you run the steps under "Link to Motif library for Oracle Application Server 10.1.2 (on Oracle Linux 5, RHEL 5, Oracle Linux 6 and RHEL 6 only)" in the same doc.

Installing EBS R12 on Windows Vista Basic

I am trying to install EBS R12 media pack on my computer having Windows Vista Basic.
I could have the installation pass 2 steps out of 5.
But while performing the third step, it is failing with the following error:

I have seen posting about the installation of EBS R12/i11 saying it does not work with Windows Vista (64 bit). I went ahead and tried it anyway to see what kind of errors I get and to confirm if the errors I get are consistent with other people using Windows Vista. FYI, my installation went as far as 99% complete of step 2 of 5 before it errored out. I checked and noticed that many components of EBS have been installed with status equal zero which is good.
When I got the "TNS-12541: TNS: no listener", I went to Windows services, located the Oracle TNS service that was created by the EBS installation and tried to start it. Then I got this error: "error 1053 the service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion". I googled the error message and the resolution is: "To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1.". I have tried this but it does not work because my Windows Vista uses a higher version of .Net Framework 1.1. I have done more research but to no avail. However, it is fun as I learn many things about the EBS intallation and Windows Vista.
By the way, these are the steps when I run the rapidwiz on Windows Vista. Click on Start => Click on command prompt => right click on command Prompt => select run as administrator => CD to the path where the rapidwiz reside. Somehow if I use the regular command prompt the installation will die on step 1 of 5 even when I log in as administrator.
In your case you are using Windows 2k3. Make sure your OS is not 64 bit. Whenever you get an error and it does not say much, google it to see the resolution and make sure you read the Installation Guide. Hope this helps.

Error Installing EBS R12 - Win 2003 Server Standard R2

This is my 8th try to install EBS R12 and got same error.
OS - Win 2003 Server Standard R2.
used CYGWIN, MS Visual C++ 2010 and Strawberry Perl.
Used Oracle E-Business Suite R12 Installation Steps on Windows XP followed all steps......finally same error......

Install EBS R12 in Windwos 2003 Server - Post-Install Checks Problem

I have successfully installed EBS R12 to a Windows 2003 Server. But after the Post-Install Checks, the report showed that only 'Login Page' is failure.
Login Page:

I tried using SQL Plus & Oracle Form to connect the Vision database. I can see the all the Vision schemas.
The problem is I could not run the main page of

What I can do to figure out this problem?

Starting from Oracle E-Business Suite R12, Apache no longer comes as a standalone Windows service.
In order to start Apache (and other iAS components) you either start 'Oracle Process Manager for SID_hostname' service from Windows services.
OR
Use 'adapcctl.cmd' located under $INST_TOP/admin/scripts
- To start Apache: adapcctl.cmd start
- To stop Apache: adapcctl.cmd stop
- To check the status of Apache (Alive/Down) as well as other iAS components: adapcctl.cmd status

I installed virtual pc 2007 on it. I planned to install EBS R12 on linux rhel 4.6 so...
I tried installing Linux RHEL 4.6 using the ordinary CD installer, but when I finished the login screen resolution
is not correct, I see big colored bars and the text are so big. How do you resolve this?
I my installer not compatible with virtual pc 2007? is there different linux version made for the virtual pc?
Can you help me find docs on those who have successfully installed EBS on virtual pc?
Is ubuntu linux also supported by EBS R12? I see some sample install but Im not sure if this is ordinary/normal

Sometimes, Rapid Install failed to complete the post check and you will have to start the application services manually and click on the retry button to finish the installation.

However, I would recommend you go with a software which was test before (I did manage to install Oracle Apps 11i/R12 on RHEL/OEL 4 and 5 running on VMWare with no issues).

i guess.It is not supported. I have also seen couple of documents covering the installation steps on this OS, but I am not going to say it would work.
I would suggest you go with a certified Linux OS on VMware, and see if it works. Or, mention more details about your previous installation so we may try to fix it.

You will have to perform a complete install of 12.2.0 with 11.2.0.3 database, then perform a database upgrade to 11.2.0.4. You cannot use an existing 11.2.0.4 install.

Fresh PROD database will include seed data, but no user data (which you will have to populate). VISION includes seed and sample data for fictional Vision corporation.

Hello. This post is the continue for previous post "Questions about Installing EBS R12".
While installing EBS R12 using "./rapidwiz", the Install Wizard gets to "CD Locator - Select root directory of required Rapid Install Disk. Enter location for the disk labeled. Oracle Applications Rapid Install - Database Disk 1"
I browse the directory where Database Disk 1 is located (file name: V15680-01_1of3/oraAPPDB/Disk1). Then click "OK" button, CD Locator Windows come up again and again. The Install Wizard doesn't proceed !
The above issue means some files in stage area directory are corrupted. Thus, I have deleted the stage area directory (zip files and unzipped files) and try to download a fresh EBS R12 from Oracle Edelivery to install again.
Now, the problem is that when I empty trash (EBS_R12) in Oracle Linux 5, the 3 files (V15680-01_1of3.zip, oraAppDB, oraDB) cannot be deleted from the trash, the error message is:
"You don't have permission to modify its parent folder."
The file V15680-01_1of3.zip is Rapid Install Database Disk 1 on which the install Wizard stop while installing EBS R12.
Can any folks help to solve the issue on file "V15680-01_1of3.zip" ?
that is, how to empty it from Trash ? How to have the Wizard go through it when install again ?

The window titled « Install Oracle Applications - Welcome » is displayed but empty;
I Click [ X ] at the top right corner;
The windows titled « Oracle Applications Rapid Install Wizard Alert » is displayed, asking « Are you sure you want to exit ? » I say [ Yes ];
On the Terminal, I press Ctrl C.
I choose Ubuntu that is easy to use. I tried and abandoned Oracle EL5 and Solaris.

Encounter error when installing EBS R12.0.4.6 on OEL5.2

Hi,
I met a problem when I installed EBS R12.0.4.6 on Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.2.
The installation was interrupted in the step 2 of 5. It showed RW-50004 error. Then when I clicked retry button, the installation continued until the post-instll checks. Only the Enviroment File and DBC File passed the check.
Following is the error logged in the log file:

Some educational site are behind the times. At times, they require software that isn't available on the ipad. You should visit an apple store and try the educational site with the ipad. Considering that you have an iMac, I'd lean in the direction of the iPad.
