Installing Elements 12 from Purchased CD

Should I uninstall the trial version of Elements 12 before installing my purchased version from CD?

Support for Raw file processing is provided by the Adobe Camera Raw plugin which is used by Photoshop Elements and Photoshop.
Camera Raw is regularly updated to provide support for new camera models as they hit the market.
The Lumix DMC GX-7 has been supported since Camera Raw 8.2 (current version is 8.3). Photoshop Elements ships with Camera Raw 8.1.

AFAIK, you cannot update trial versions. So once you enter your serial number into PSE12, click Help > Updates to download ACR 8.3 and you'll get GX-7 Raw support..

Windows:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
Mac:
Library/Application Support/Adobe
Once done please try installing Elements 10 and it should work.

Cannot install Elements 12 from reatil CD get shared technology error!

I tried to install elements 12 from the retail CD. It installs almost to end then stops with an error about shared technologies. I tried all of the diagnostics that I found here ASA found no errors. I could not locate any log file to inspect. Program uninstalls after error ihas occured.
Any suggestions.
I stopped anti-virus programs.
Tried rebooting
ran ASA
searched manually for log file
none of these worked.

After error message, install program does an automatic rolback deleting files, and I am unable to locate any log file.
I have checked in " C:/Program files/common files/adobe/installers ". I searched both by name and last modified date.
I checked directory where program was going to be installed. Could not locate any log file to analyze.
Where else can I look?
Very frustrating!

How do I install Elements 13 from the diskdrive on another computer?

I bought a hardcopy of Elements 13. I want to install it on a Windows 7-desktop pc.
However, this pc does not contain a diskdrive, therefore I want to install it from the diskdrive on my laptop.
Both computers are in my home-network. I do have administrator rights. @From the desktop I can see the contents on the disk. I can even start to run and it is possible in the startscreen to choose installing Elements 13.
Then, the resulting message is: "the specified file cannot be found"......
How do I install the software?

Your best bet is to download it and install it that way. You can download the trial and use your serial number to activate it to full use (there is no difference between the trial and the full version other than the missing activation).

An alternative would be to copy the installation to a USB stick and plug that into your desktop

This is PSE 13? If so, it's not a bug, it's a feature. The new adaptive grid view in the organizer, where you see the thumbnails edge-to-edge, doesn't do stacks or version sets. Press. Ctrl+D/Command+D to get back to the old detail view instead.

Well, first of all is this a boxed version? If it's a download your serial number is invalid because downloads are single platform while boxed serial numbers work on both.

How to Install Elements 12 from Download onto MAC

I have a new MAC and not over familiar with the OS (10.9.2) i have just downloaded Elements 12 but can't figure out how to install it. There is a setup.exe file but that won't run on MAC what am i missing or is there a separate MAC version i should of downloaded vice a windows one ?

For mac you should have a file ending .dmg not .exe (this is the windows download). Just use the trial: http://www.adobe.com/go/tryphotoshop_elements and license this version with the serial found in the Adobe portal (Find your serial number quickly) Have fun with the software!

Data1.cab missing when installing elements 12 from download

I though that i hadcessfully donloaded both the *.Z7 ffile and the *.exe file. It took quite some tim unpacking all the files but one thing i noticed that the numbers of cabinets don't make sense. It runs from 1 to 15 but data4.cab is not there. now that data4.cab i just the one the installer seems to miss. i didn't get any error message. perhapsd i will try unpacking them again/.

After that initial error, I moved the two downloaded files to a local disk (they were on an external disk before) then I ran the executable, now all files were correctly unpacked and installed. Just for information: I was not unpacking those files manually, the installer unpacks everything to a seperate folder only then can the installation beggin. It was during installation that the installer asked for DATA4.cab.

I answered your questions in error. I'm trying to find out another problem of my own on Elements 12, but I can tell you that unless you start with Elements 12 you will not be able to modify photographs in 13. I've found that out the hard way. I've lost my Elements 12 and am having a hard time downloading it back on to my system. 13 is useless without Elements 12 to back it up. BOOoooo. Trying to get a human to talk or chat to you in this system is a big problem at best. Good luck!!

The serial number which commences 1057 (24 digits) is usually inside the box. Try pulling out the white cardboard inner-box. The serial number is usually found there, not on the DVD wrapper.
Or if you purchased on-line check your confirmation email, which may contain a redemption code.
