Installing mac in macbook after using windows 7 in it

earlier i installed windows 7 in macbook pro, now i want to install mac again,
i removed the hard drive, formatted it fully, made it an unallocated partition
now when i insert mac disc, it pulls it out again, and its not booting mac disc for installation
dont know whether there is something wrong with the partition system
need your assistance

Did you use the Boot Camp Assistant app to create the Windows partition and start the Windows install or did you install Windows natively without any version of OS X on the system?
If you used Boot Camp then OS X is still on your hard drive. At a restart or statup after shutting down hold down the Option key to get the boot selection screen and then select the OS X partition, usually Macintosh HD.
If you wiped the drive completely before or during the install of Windows then you will need either the original system reinstall discs that came with your Mac, if it came with discs, or use the Online Internet Recovery system if your Mac computer came out after June 2011.

for the 2013 versions of macbook pro should I purchase 32 bit windows or 64 bit version to be able to install it on macbook and use windows with bootcamp?

Then you might check at any of the other university book stores or software stores or any computer store in town for the 64-bit version.
If you want to use the 32-bit version from the school (you probably get it for free or very cheap) then you could purchase Parallels and run it as a virtual machine concurrently with OS X. There are some caveats:
    1. You have to purchase Parallels (there may be an academic discount.) List is $79.95.
    2. Your computer needs minimally 4 GBs of RAM, but realistically 8 GBs would be better.
    3. Parallels creates a pseudo-drive on your hard drive. It could easily require 50 GBs of disk space.
Accommodating these might be more costly than buying 64-bit Windows 7. And, if you look online you may find them with an academic discount (or may be able to order it through the school.)

You'll need to erase the drive by booting up holding command-option-r keys into your Recovery Volume.
Use Disk Utility to erase the disk and then Internet Recovery. That will take a while.

I have Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 installed on Windows XP 32 bit, Windows 7 64 bit, as well as Windows 8.1 (previously 8) and no problems.
Are you installing the program from installation files (purchased as a download to a Windows or Mac computer??) or from installation disc labelled for Windows?
After the program is installed, then you install the Premiere Elements 9.0.1 Update and work from it.

Two. You can daisy-chain two ATD together. Doesn't matter what you're running.

  • How do i install mac OS X onto my windows pc

It's possible, but the staff was doing so against company rules in a attempt to make a hardware sale.
If you fell for it, you would had to either pay the employee to do it or directed to a website and illegal copies of OS X to do so.
Then it would be Snow Leopard most likely and not Mountain Lion, reinstalling it would be a pain and likely AppStore software wouldn't work.
There is a computer geek community that does take a lot of pains to install OS X onto generic PC's, but it's a hassle for normal computer user folks.
Some geeks like to push OS X on generic PC's in a rebellious "we can do anything" sort of thing, but it's counter productive to most users needs to have the machine "just work" as expected without getting intensely complicated.
There are a few Linux distros that have the OS X look and even do a lot more fancy things with rotating cubes of screens etc., but the problem is the lack of software.
There is OS X and it has a decent amount of software, but Windows by far has the most and it's OS versions last a decade or more, not like OS X versions which only last a year and Linux versions that last anywhere from 6 months to 5 years.
So Windows "won" by being the farmer and Apple wins by being the pioneer.
If you don't like a lot of change, then Apple isn't for you.

Good place to look for software:

And for free alternatives to some popular software packages:

(If you see an ad there for something called MacKeeper, ignore it and on no account install it - it is malware.)
And there is of course also the App Store!

  • Making a USB install disc for macbook air using a windows PC!

Ok i have an iMac and a macbook air, so this guide here seems good for me right?
How to Create a Mac Snow Leopard USB Installer Disk
The problem I've got is that my iMac superdrive is skewed, it just won't read anything (disc is new etc but the drive won't work with pretty much ANY disc at all, and i mean any, just spits them out after a few seconds of trying to read it).
Anyways, can this process as described in the URL above be done using a windows based pc? i also have one as a media centre in my room and it has a working dvd drive..... if so what do i need to do? this is driving me insane! i cannot afford an external superdrive or any other external drives at the moment nor is the iMac in warranty and nor do i have the ability to take it anywhere.

Its a long one to explain but the superdrive in the imac works when it wants, and fortuantly last time it worked with the OSX disc that came with the imac! amazing, i made the usb installer and then when booted with macbook air it stated it cannot be installed. I did a little digging and discovered that it was because the imac came with one of those grey OEM discs and are not able to transpose to another machine at all, this is officially from apple and what others have used, hence my need to then get a full snow leopord disc.
The disc however unlike the other OSX grey one will not read at all
also what i mean is can i use the drive from the windows machine to make the usb install disc not using windows itself....?

  • Install Mac OS 10.3 using a Windows old HD.

Hi, I bought a cheap iMac G3 with 4GB HD, I never open a Mac's Computer but I changed the HD for a 40GB without problems, it still have a original Windows instalation. When I boot the Computer I just see a screen blinking a folder and the mac's logo even I press down <C> with MAC OS 10.3 CD inside the drive, so I turned back the HD for the original but the blinking folder keep on show me. Can someone help me?

If it has a 4GB hard drive, it is probably a tray-loader iMac (the optical drive loads on a tray instead of the disk going into a slot).
Did it work normally with the 4GB drive initially, before you tried the swap?
Were you able to boot (using the C key startup) that 10.3 installation disc initially, when the 4GB drive was in there?
    Possible problems:
Is the 10.3 installation disc a retail disc? If so, it should be black with a big silver X, and it should come as a set of three discs. If it's one disc, it is probably a DVD that came with another Mac model, and it won't work on your iMac. For one thing, your iMac only has a CDROM drive.
When you put in the 40GB drive, did you set the jumpers on the drive for Master? It may be set for Cable Select, and that will not work. On the tray-loader, there are two IDE buses, one for the hard drive and one for the optical drive, so the hard drive should be set for Master (with no slave drive present). I can't explain why it no longer works with the original drive if it worked before.
If you manage to get the 10.3 installation disc to boot, and the 40GB hard drive to be recognized, and your iMac is a tray-loader (not a slot-loader), you will need to partition the hard drive so that the one you install Mac OS X on is the first partition and is under 8GB in size. But first things first... You have to be able to boot the 10.3 installation disc before you can do anything else.

  • Canon Pixma Printing from a Macbook Pro using Windows XP Home machine

Using my windows xp home machine as a print server. I have a Canon MP480 printer
Installed bonjour on the xp machine.
    Installed the printer and drivers.
    Shared the printer on XP.
Installed the driver on the MacbookPro.
Added the printer using Windows print sharing.
Prints to XP machine so that the print job shows up in the queue on the windows machine.
Printer starts to get ready to print.
    It never prints.
This is a common printer because they give it away at the Mac store when you buy a new Macbookpro.

Hello and welcome to Apple Discussions.
Usually when you select to add a Windows shared printer (Add Printer > Windows) you get prompted to enter the Windows user name and password. After entering this information you will then see the printer share name. If you are not getting prompted for account information after selecting the sharing computer then your Mac may have cached or saved a previous account used on Windows. Since you mention Guest for a previous attempt, maybe this is being used by the Mac and if that is now disabled on Windows then this could be a cause. So check your Windows accounts to see if the Guest account is still enabled.
The other thing that you can do is open Keychain Access on the Mac and look at the 'login' keychains. Your details for the connection to the PC could be saved here so you could delete this entry and then try adding the Windows printer share on the Mac again.
Once you do manage to see the printer share there is another matter that you need to be aware of. For some printers, the vendor created printer driver does not work when connecting to a Windows shared printer. For these types of connections you need to use either the Gutenprint or PrintFab driver suite.
Gutenprint is preferred because it is free a version is included with Mac OS X 10.6. The one major issue with Gutenprint is that very new models of printers are often not included with the latest release. In this scenario it is necessary to try to find a compatible model for the respective vendor, but this can use a large amount of ink and paper before achieving a successful result.
So this can force you to use [PrintFab|http://www.printfab.net] and the creators do a very good job of keeping up with new model releases. There is a cost involved with the software (€49) but there is a 30 day trial so you can at least test that it works.
