It give me this error "error 2738 could not access VBScript run time for cutom action".??????
    Can anyone help me please?
    How **bleep**.

Impossible to say without more details other than "I can't install". If you'll post full details, including whether you're attempting to update from the iPad directly or from iTunes on a computer, where things are breaking down, what error messages if any you're getting, and any other details pertinent to your issue, then someone can perhaps offer suggestions.
    Regards.

  • Since installing new software update, my iphone 4S no longer is recognized by itunes

I installed the new software update to my Windows PC and my iphone and now my iphone 4s is no longer recognized by itunes and I cannot sync.  I already attempted unintalling itunes and reinstalling it - it didn't work.

    Hello KatieJean123,
It sounds like your phone is not recognzied in iTunes anymore. I recommend the troubleshooting steps from the article named:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1538
Here is an overview of the troubleshooting to be done:
    1. Update iTunes
    2. Check the USB cable
    3. Verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is installed
    4. Restart the Apple Mobile Device Service
    5. Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed
    6. Check for third-party software conflicts
If the issue persists, try uninstalling iTunes and its associated apps with either of these two articles depending on your operating system version and its associated softwares:
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows XP
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1925
    Or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the best,
    Sterling

  • Cant install new software updates

    Hi,
It seems I cant install any software updates from apple. When I click the install button, nothing happens.Normally the Admin password screen comes up but its not.
    Anyone have any advice?

Cutting to the chase, I think the best solution to this problem is to make a really good backup with TimeMachine and then do a clean install os Leopard, and then to update Leopard, and then to use TimeMachine to restore your files.
I tried Archive and Install. At first, I attempted to preserve user preferences. But the installation of Leopard hung. Looking at the logs, it hung after the system had installed, and as it was in the process of trying to restore the user settings. I then tried Archive and Install without preserving user preferences. This appeared to work, but several files were corrupted. Most obviously, files that had recently been edited with Microsoft EXCEL 2008. I then deleted the Archived files and restored all my user files from TimeMachine. Problem solved.
I wonder if the combination of Microsoft Office 2008 and Leopard 10.5 is somehow toxic.

  • Does Software Update CAUSE crashes, or come up AFTER crashes?

Over the past 6 months or more my machine has only hung (i.e. requires a press of a hardware button to restart), about 3-4 times. Each of those times, when I restart the first thing I see is the Apple Software Update screen. At least a couple (if not all) of those times the second thing I see is the Microsoft Office Automatic Update Screen.
I was in the office over the weekend, and no IT guys were around, and the OSX SERVER crashed (which knocked me off the internet, and also off the file server). When I restarted that machine, the first thing that came up was the Apple Software Update.
    The question I have is:
    * Could the Apple Software Update application be causing my crashes, or
    * Am I seeing a feature where OSX says "hey you just crashed, let's check for updates now, even if it hasn't been a week (which is what your preferences say I should wait)".
Does anyone know? I've asked my IT guys here, and they've gone back and forth on it.
    Thanks,

Why speculate? Chances are, if you look in the system console, you can find some information that might shed some light on this problem. The console is located in the Utilities folder.

  • How do I install new software updates on my mac?

my itunes and iphoto keep telling me I need a software update and I try to click on the software update button on the top left screen and it tells me to "install and restart" when I click that it JUST restarts and wont install anything. How do I update my software?

What version of the OS X are you running? Go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac and report the Version back here.

  • Why won't my MacBook install new software updates?

When I click on Software Update it says "Install 11 items." Among them are iTunes 10.6.3, Safari, Garage Band Update, iPhoto Update and so on.
When I click "Install 11 Items" it doesn't install anything. It says I must restart my computer to finish installation. So, I restart. Afterwards it asks for my password, I figure for installations.
But nothing is changed, and when I click updates I get the same 11 program updates. This has happened at least seven times in the past seven tries.
Plus, my battery is stuck. It won't come out of the computer. Though the abve issue is most troubling.
    Thanks.

Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion) is a purchased product, you can get it from the Mac app store. If your MacBook can support it though you may want to wait and purchase Mac OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) which will become available sometime later this month. It will also be a purchase, but it is not necessary to get Lion first, and it is going to be $20 rather than the $30 for Lion. You can find out if your MacBook will run it on this page.
That security update can be found here. The Java update is available here. You can search for other updates on this page.
I don't know why the installer is not performing as it should. It is highly unlikely that the battery has anything to do with your installation issues.
    Best of luck.

  • Problems with Java 1.5+ after installing new "Software Updates".

I downloaded the regular 'software updates', now my macbook pro won't open Vuze, instead coming up with the message " Cannot launch "Vuze Installer". No compatible version of Java 1.5  available." Then it won't let me "Open Java Preferences". What do I do???

This is silly. Just because you don't know Vuze doesn't mean there's no problem with this update. My friends are having the same issue, of course we are looking at possible problem from Vuze's part but we cannot really say this update has 100% nothing to do with Vuze's launch failure, can we?
P.S. Since Vuze is not banned by law, it's still legal to use it. It's up to people if they want to use it for good or bad.

  • After installing new software updates, my internet pages don't load

Yesterday I was prompted to "new updates are ready to install", so I did. But now my internet pages either don't load when I click on a site, or are really slow loading. Anyone else with this problem?

Are you using Safari? There have been some issues with Safari 5 and third-party plugins. Disable any plug-ins you may have installed and restart your Mac.

  • ITunes.  After installing new software, what does "restore iPod" mean?  Does it mean to restore all games and data to the new software or does it mean to "undo" the software update?

iTunes.  After backing iPod to computer and installing new software, what does "restore iPod" mean?  Does it mean to restore all games and data to the new software or does it mean to "undo" the software update?

You can restore your iPod to "New" which will erase every thing and install fresh iOS software or you can restore to a particular backup that you have previously created. In this case, your iPod Apps & data will appear as per the backup. Note that some content is not in a backup and will need to be synced back to the iPad from the iTunes music library or from, for example, the iPhoto photo library.

  • HT5622 Actually um trying to update new iOS 7 for my iphone 4 but when i press the button to install new software suddenly it appears why " iOs 7 failed verification because you are no longer connected to the internet " even my phone is already connected

hie there Actually um trying to update new iOS 7 for my iphone 4 but when i press the button to install new software suddenly it appears why " iOs 7 failed verification because you are no longer connected to the internet " even my phone is already connected to net

I tried powering down and re-starting the iPhone (as suggested at http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275). This seems to have cleared the "...not connected to the Internet" problem, and iOS 6.1 is now in the process of downloading.
Thanks very much for your feedback.
