Installing OBIEE 101341 using Advanced installation option

Hi All,
I am trying to install OBIEE 10.1.3.4.1 using the Advanced installation type. The option says it requires "Oracle Application Server 10.1.3.1.0 or greater". I installed Oracle Application Server 10.1.3.3 and tried installing OBIEE. It asked me for the installation directory and when I pointed it to right directory of installation it comes out and says this "Please specify a valid Oracle Application Server 10g installation location. A valid Oracle Application Server 10g installation must have Oracle Container for J2EE (OC4J), Oracle HTTP Server, and Oracle Process Manager and Notification Server (OPMN) installed. The default OC4J instance must be named home. "
1. Did anyone else come across this error?
2. I see all the components mentioned in the error message installed on my computer using Oracle Universal Installer. What is the deal with "The default OC4J instance must be named home." Can anyone make sense out of this?
Thanks in advance. Any help is much appreciated.

If the advanced installation does not work you can always do a a basic install and deploy OBIEE in OAS manually. This is documented in the OBIEE deployment guide.

  • Install "use typical installation options for a stand-alone primary site" All SQL Prerequisites Failed. Checks SQL before SQL is even installed?

So I select the install option to "Use typical installation options for a stand-alone primary site" which says it includes installation of SQL 2012 SP1 on the local server.
But then during the prerequisite checks it fails every SQL check.
Is it just me or a giant catch 22? Am I missing something here? How is this over looked if it is what it looks like? Why even have this simple install option if it can't work?

Take a look at my R2 install guide. This is for a stand alone primary. As Torsten states you pretty much need SQL installed and configured correctly prior to running the ConfigMgr install - along with  a few other pre-reqs.

  • Th"advanced installation" option screen never showed up in ASM runInstaller

I tried to install ASM in it's own home by invoking the oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/oui/bin/runInstaller.
    This is what happend:
After the initial OUI welcome screen, click NEXT, it jumped right to "Specify Source Location" screen... yet the "advanced installation" option screen I was expecting has never showed up.
Anyone know what's wrong and how do I get to that "advanced installation" option screen so that I can check it first?

Never mind. Re-downloaded the server software and solved the problem.

  • Install WRT54G router, using the installation CD

I am trying to install a WRT54G router using the installation CD. The Easylink Advisor freezes when I choose the router type, and won't continue. Can anyone help?

Thanks for the offer. I finally did that this morning, and the router works correctly.  It would have been nice to be able to use the CD as I understand the assistant has other capabilities to make changes easier. I guess Linksys doesn't want to fix the problem.

  • MAC Mouse and Keyboard Do Not Work, when I am trying to re-install the OS using "Command R" option

I am trying to re-install MAC OS 10.8.2, but when I hold "command R" I am asked for the firmware password, but the keyboard and mouse do not work.
If I only select "option" during the boot up process it will ask me for the firmware password, keyboard and mouse work, but I can only select the HD option.
Can someone advise what is the problem here, and your resolution.
I have tried different commands "option + command + R' with no luck.

I tried what was provided on the link, but it is not working.
I hold it down, before the gray screen and the chime, but it only prompts but the firmware password.
I tried based on the specific order in the support document and at a random press and hold.
    No go any other thoughts?

  • I think I chose the wrong Installation Option - Now what???

I installed Leopard right when it came out and love the new OS. But, at the time I did not know what the various installation options meant or implicated. So, I chose the first/default "Upgrade OSX" option.
Now, I have not been having any specific problems, but I think my computer should be faster when loading certain apps and toggling around between spaces, dashboard, and multitasking. The more I read about the installation options, I feel that my mac would run better if I reinstalled Leopard using another installation option, like Archive and Install.
Is this a true concern? Should I reinstall using another option to operate at full potential? How do I go about doing that... same as before? Any help or suggestions is appreciated.
    Phil

    Hi Phil Mutz;
So far I have used Upgrade to install Leopard on five Macs, two of my own and three for friends. So far all of them are all operating just as they were with Tiger. From my experiences with Leopard, I suspect that your problem is elsewhere on your system rather then how you installed Leopard.

  • DB Version Error when install SOA Suite using with DB 10G 10.2.0.1

    Hi,
I am trying to install SOA Suite 10.1.3.1.0 in Windows XP environment where an Oracle 10g database 10.2.0.1 is pre-installed. When I try to use Advanced Installation, the system says that my database version should be 10.2.0.2 or higher. I couldn't find any 10.2.0.2 version or higher for Windows XP on Oracle download site. There is only 10.2.0.3 for Windows Vista. Anyone knows whether there is a workaround?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jeff

Hi, I met this problem some weeks early. I wrote a conlusion about this:
Update Oracle Database 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.2 on Windows XP
When I install Oracle SOA Suite 10g Release 3(10.1.3.x, soa_windows_x86_101310_disk1.zip download from http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/soa/index.html), a error occured. Because the version of Oracle Database on my laptop is 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.1). Then I download the update patch p4547817_10202_WINNT.zip from metalink.oracle.com and install the database without installing the starter database and instance (orcl). After this, use p4547817_10202_WINNT.zip to updata Oracle Database 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.2 and then use DBCA to install a new database and instance (orcl).
    Summary:
    1. patch: p4547817_10202_WINNT.zip downloaded from metalink.oracle.com
    2. only install Oracle database software, don't install any database or instance
    3. use p4547817_10202_WINNT.zip to update the database software
    4. use DBCA to install a new database
    Question:
    1. how to update when there already exist data in database?
    2. Oracle database express edition isn't stabile enough? Because there are always some error appear during SOA Order Booking demo using.

Check to see if ANO is linked in with SQL*Plus by running the following:
    cd to oracle_home/bin
    adapters sqlplus
If after running the adapters command and ANO does not show as being linked in,
    perform the following:
    1. Change directorys to oracle home/sqlplus/lib
    2. Run the following unix command to relink SQL*Plus:
    make -F ins_sqlplus.mk install
    3. Change to oracle home/bin directory.
    4. Re-run "adapters sqlplus" to verify that ANO is now linked in.

  • Can we install tomcat using BO installer files

    Hi Everyone,
We want to install Business Objects with Tomcat but on 2 separate servers. Tomcat in one and the rest of the BO Servers in another. Can we use the installer files provided by SAP to install just the Tomcat? If yes what should be the right order, install BO servers first and then Tomcat? Your help and suggestions would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi
The sequence to setting up a split deployment is to first install the BO Services and CMS on one server (note: deselect the WACS option) and then secondly setup the Web Tier (using the bundled Tomcat software) on the second server.
PS: I prefer rather to use the custom installation option as then you have more control over the components been installed.
After installing the 2 servers, you will have to adjust ceratin configuration files on the tomcat server to point to the correct CMS.
    For example:
if ypou have the following servers:
    - Server 1 (i.e. bodev) for the BO services
    - Server 2 (i.e. webdev) for the Web tier
After the installation the web server will have references to the CMS as follows: webdev:6400, this will have to be changed to bodev:6400 where the CMS is located.

    PLEASE HELP.!!!!
    <Personal Information Edited by Host>

    Hello Negaz
When you uninstalled iTunes, did you uninstall it by using the article below or just uninstalled iTunes? The best practice is to remove not only iTunes, but also other associating software in the order that the first article give. If that does not work, then check out the second article for more troubleshooting options for connecting your iPhone to your computer.

    Hi bitofagiggle,
I am not familiar with mac machines, based on what I know, there should be more settigns that need to be configured before the installation of Windows, I suggest you contact the manufacturer for further help regarding how to make Windows to upgrade smoothly.
