Installing Oracle Enterprise Manager Release 2.2

I kept on getting JREW error when trying to install Oracle OEM Release 2.2 on Windows 98 SE. We have Oracle Applications 11.03 installed.
Any tip or suggestions?

Are you using Pc with Pentium 4?
If Yes do te following steps:
1. Uninstall jinitiator -> oajinit.exe which come from your server when you run oracle apps for the first time (Ver should greater then 1.1.8.13 but this depend on your apps server).
2. Install again oajinit.exe, but don't used default directory. Change it to your oracle_home\jre11 (default dir) when you install Discover or Orcale report/form developer.
Note : This is happened because your jre11 dir has an old version of jrew.exe.
When your install your oajinit.exe it's update jre.exe & jerw.exe, also another programs.
Ok.

Jonathan

This looks like a follow up of Re: Error after installing Oracle Enterprise Linux (Release 5) on Dell T 110
Can you give more details what you are trying to do or trying to accomplish. Where are you trying to ping to?
It could be that you have not defined your gateway or DNS server for name to IP mapping. What is the output of
    # netstat -rn
    # cat /etc/resolv.conf

  • Installing Oracle Enterprise manager

I have on my cleint Pc dev10g is ;Oracle Enterprise manager; part of the 'dev10g' or else how I can install it

It depends on what exactly you want to do. First, Oracle Enterprise Manager is a term that refers to the Java Thick client console, and it can be found at the Oracle RDBMS client disk; this requires installation to be accessed.
There is a second Enterprise manager, formally named Enterprise Manager DB Control Console, which is the Web based EM Console. There is no install media for this, this is automatically configured on a per instance bases when you create a new database using the default procedure in DBCA.
Finally there is an Enterprise Manager Grid Control Console, which is an integrated management system and requires more than just an installation, it requires the install media and a previous topology analysis.

  • Install oracle enterprise manager

Hi, I have installed Oracle 10g wanted to install Enterprise manager please help me I'm new in this arena. I don't have cd, I have installed from Oracle side
    Ben

If you have created a database with the Database Creation Assistant, you have already installed Enterprise Manager. Just make sure the dbconsole is started.
    set/export ORACLE_SID=<dbsid>
    $ORACLE_HOME/bin/emctl start dbconsole
You can find the URL to access Enterprise Manager DB Control with the following:
    $ORACLE_HOME/bin/emctl status dbconsole

  • Problem installing Oracle Enterprise Manager

I install OEM on a windows 2000. When I run OEM configuration assistant to create a new repository, I got a error:
    lost database connection,
    ora-12547, TNS lost contact.
    I did it like:
    user: system
    passwd:

Thanks a lot. It's really frustrating with all these problems.

    Deborah,
I really don't think I installed Enterprise Manager Server. I have looked everywhere for the emca configuration assistant and it is just not there. I am running version 3 of oracle 8.1.7 enterprise edition, and I did not remember seeing enterprise manager server on the list of products that would be installed. I did remember seeing enterprise manager components. I am going to try and install again on a different machine and see if enterprise manager server is part of the install.

After that I suggested to you to post in this forum (more suitable I think for Installation issues) I read the links that you post. In the link of Mass Agent Deployment exists this note:
Installation Instructions: Follow the instructions outlined in the instructions.txt file to successfully install the Management Agent
could you find this file and follow the instructions?

  • Error installing Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control 10g Release 2

    Database version: 10.1.0.5.0 with CPUApr2008
OS: Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2
I'm installing R2 so I can then install R4. I get an error towards the end of the installation when it runs through the OMS Configuration.
    I get the following error:
    Configuration assistant "OMS Configuration" failed
The "D:\oracle\product\10.1.0\agent10g\cfgtoollogs\configToolFailedCommands" script contains all commands that failed, were skipped or were cancelled. This file may be used to run these configuration assistants outside of OUI. Note that you may have to update this script with passwords (if any) before executing the same.
When I open up the configToolFailedCommands file, it shows this:
rem Copyright (c) 1999, 2006, Oracle. All rights reserved.
    oracle.sysman.emcp.agent.AgentPlugIn
I don't know what the oracle.sysman.emcp.agent.AgentPlugIn does. Can anyone help me out with this???
    Thanks,
    ivalum21

Here is the error in the "installActions<date>.log" file:
SEVERE: OUI-25031:Some of the configuration assistants failed. It is strongly recommended that you retry the configuration assistants at this time. Not successfully running any "Recommended" assistants means your system will not be correctly configured.
    1. Check the Details panel on the Configuration Assistant Screen to see the errors resulting in the failures.
    2. Fix the errors causing these failures.
    3. Select the failed assistants and click the 'Retry' button to retry them.
I checked in the details section and it listed this as the issue:
    Configuration assistant "OMS Configuration" failed
The "D:\oracle\product\10.1.0\agent10g\cfgtoollogs\configToolFailedCommands" script contains all commands that failed, were skipped or were cancelled. This file may be used to run these configuration assistants outside of OUI. Note that you may have to update this script with passwords (if any) before executing the same.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
How do I fix this?? When I open up the configToolFailedCommands file, all it lists is "oracle.sysman.emcp.agent.AgentPlugIn".

  • Oracle Enterprise Manager installed but page is not loading

hi, I have installed Oracle Enterprise Manager on a Oracle Linux 5.8 box. version being Oracle.x64.11gR2. The installation was successful and I am able to start the oms services
via <ORACLE_INSTALL_HOME>/middleware/oms/bin ./emctl start oms. However, when I browse the location using browser
i.e. https://localhost:7801/em the page is indefinitely waiting for response. Any particular log files or any specfic pre-requisite I am missing that could be causing this. Kindly provide your inputs.

I don't think it's because of ageing out because:
    1. I am trying to view the plan almost at the same time that the statement is run.
    2. I am the only person running anything on the database. Shared pool is about 700M, SGA size is 2GB. PGA is 7GB.
What else would you need to know?

  • Configure dial-up connection in Oracle Enterprise Linux Release 4-3.7.11

Hallo!I have just finished installing Oracle Enterprise Linux Release 4-3.7.11 so that I can set up Oracle 10g on this Linux platform.
But first I need to set up a few configurations e.g enable my OEL connect to the internet via a dial-up modem.
I have used my modem successfully on openSUSE 11.2 and Ubuntu 9.04 but I am unable to use it on OEL.
My ubuntu configurations are as follows
    Connection Name:ZAIN
    Number:*99#
    APN:ke.celtel.com
How do I set up dial-up in OEL using the settings above?
Also, simple commands to restart the OEL such as shutdown -r now are not being found when I type them in the terminal. How can this be so?
    Thanks.

Use wvdial to dial out using the modem, authenticate, and have it launch the pppd daemon for creating an IP connection via the modem.
If you want to configure manually, you will need to edit the files pap-secrets and chap-sercrets in +/etc/ppp+. Then you also need a unique config file for your connection defined in the +/etc/ppp/peers+ directory.
These files are fairly simple to edit. The secret files contains your ISP authentication details. The peers file the phone number and account name (from the secret files) to use. wvdialconf should configure this accordingly though.
There's lot of details available on the web - suggest you google.

  • Oracle Enterprise manager not starting

I have installed Oracle Enterprise Manager on my virtual machine running Oracle Linux 5.8. I edited the virtual machine settings to contain 2 CPU cores, 8GB RAM post installation of OEM owing to slow response times from the server. This was done as per the pre-requisite recommendation from Oracle Installation guide. Also, prior to installation of the Oracle DB, I had the user group as dba instead of oinstall. I have now associated the oracle user to the oinstall group instead of dba. Now, I have powered on the virtual machine and started the database and the listener. Now when I try to launch the OMS service, I am not able to get the Management server up and running. The logs show the error on "PolicyStoreContainerNotReadyException" and says 'Failed to search audit definition for component JPS. Reason: oracle.secutiry.jps.service.policystore.PolicyStoreContainerNotReadyException. Kindly let me know what should I do to get the OMS up and running.

  • ORA-12154 Error After Install of Enterprise Manager

I have a new new laptop with minimal software installed. Everything was fine and I was able to connect to 4 different Oracle 9i databases.
This morning I installed Oracle Enterprise Manager (10g) and now I get the dreaded ORA-12154 error.
I now find a copy of TNSNAMES.ORA in three places. I have copied the correct version to the two new 10G locations and I have verified that all three copies of TNSNAMES.ORA and SQLNET.ORA are correct and identical.
Do anybody have any idea what else could be wrong?

I am certain the TNSNAMES.ORA file is fine as it is "pushed" from a central IT department. I have compared it to the one on a second computer (which has only 9i installed) in my office and they are identical.
I examined the Oracle 9i directories and there was no LISTENER.ORA anywhere. On the 9i only computer the command - C:\>dir listener.ora /s /p executed in a DOS window returned no files.
Everything was working fine until I installed Enterprise Manager 10g (10.2.0.2.1).
I have TOAD installed and it connects to both of the 9i development and production databases, so I know the TNSNAMES.ORA is okay.
It woudl seem that there is a conflict between 10g and 9i Developer/2000.
