Installing Photoshop CS5 requires Adobe AIR to be installed

Hey Guys (I'm new so sorry if I do anything wrong here),
I just installed Windows 8, and while it was very confusing I accidently deleted all of my programmes (I got confused with what the Reset Tab was) and when I went to go and install Photoshop Trial, it's telling me I need to update Adobe AIR because It's not available to my system.
I've installed it before, the only change was from Windows 7 to Windows 8, and I've seen other people with Windows 8 use Photoshop CS5? Please Help!?

I found out eventually I couldnt obviously, but before I found out I figured the "Reset Your PC" option would be like a system restore and would go back to Windows 7. All my Programmes got deleted, which I was fine about so I just went to go install them again but Photoshop is telling me I cant install it due to not having the system requirements. But the only requirement I believe I dont have is Windows 7, but like I said before... I've seen others with Windows 8 having Photoshop..
A system Image Backup, nope.. I dont. My friend told me that it was just a trial and I would go back to Windows 7 once the trial is up. (I should do my own research in future)
I hope this was clear enough, again it's pretty late and I'm just stressed over loosing everything. Thank you for getting back to me so soon also - Any other tips on how to maybe get it? I dont think I have any traces of Adobe left since all my programmes got deleted, the only other thing I have is Adobe Flash.

But every time i publish my flash project to the emulator, i get an error saying
"This Application requires Adobe Air to be installed" eventho i do have Adobe Air installed & updated
In case it matters i have the Runtime_Emulator_Froyo_20100930 installed and i use Vista SP1.

Installation problem any program that requires Adobe Air

Installation problem
I just purchased a new HP Pavilion Laptop running windows 8
If I try to install any program that requires Adobe Air I get a failure message that says
"Sorry an error has occured
The applcation could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. Try obtaining a new installer file for the applciation author"
I have version 14.0.0.110 of Adobe Air Installed.
I have installed all widows updates.
I have removed and re installed Adobe Air but the problem persists
Very frustrating problem, any help or direction is appreciated

Android - This application requires adobe air

I have made an android app and installed on the device.
i have searched the android market for the Adobe Air runtime and cannot find it.
when i debug the app it says
"This application requires adobe air. Install Adobe Air now?"
but when i click the install button the response back is
! Not Found
The requested item could not be found.
any ideas please.

i think it is something to do with installing the runtime from the cmd prompt
-e install -r <runtime.apk>

Several programs requiring Adobe AIR have stopped working and a new one I downloaded fails to install. The AIR installer says I'm rummimg ver. 3.8.0.870 trying to load ver. 15.0.0.356. CPU is a Dell XPS running
Windows 8.1. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

This can happen when the installer's certificate has expired and there's no time stamp in the signatures.xml file. Using the link above, please verify if the .air file has the right information and report back here. I see the time stamp in my install but I still get the same error message. I want to see if this problem is more widespread.

Photoshop CS5 requires "Force Quit"

Photoshop CS5 requires “Force Quit”
I leave Photoshop CS5 open with no active files loaded and return to find it unresponsive and requiring me “Force Quit”. Amount of time it takes for this to happen varies.
I’ve tried reducing RAM, increasing RAM, discontinuing Suitcase (someone mentioned font auto-activation plugin as a possible culprit).
I was going to reinstall Photoshop to see if that would help but am not sure about the best way to do so or whether there may be other issues. Also thought about updating to CS 5.5, but with CS6 around the corner, I’d rather wait. Besides, it may not be an application issue.

You mentioned trying a number of things... DId you Quit Photoshop and launch it afresh after making each change so that you were testing with a fully reinitialized copy? I mention that because not doing so can really muddy the water when trying to troubleshoot, and might cause you to miss things that actually help. It is sometimes a good idea to log out and back in again for each test.

Yes, your fonts are locked. This is a known issue with different older versions of Adobe products if they are mixed. You need to take ownership and set their permissions to full access. There is some article on it in the knowledge base, but you might just as well do a web search on a more generic level about such procedures. An abbreviated summary of how to is contained in this article on my page (Security section).

CS5 and Adobe AIR issue wih Help file

Photoshop and other CS5 apps; Mac Pro OS 10.6.5 -- everything up to date. Trying to use Help, Adobe AIR says installation is damaged. It apparently means the Help file, as AIR updates and installs OK. Same configuration on my Macbook Pro and Help works there. I copied the Help file from the laptop but still get the message.
So I'm trying to re-install the Help file -- I found the download but when I run it, it says the installer file is damaged. Where do I find that to download?

Sorry for the trouble you are having, and thanks for letting us know. The steps below should get you up and running (and update you to the latest Community Help AIR app which has some new features and improved functionality.
Uninstall the previous version of Adobe Help by removing and trashing the application from the Applications > Adobe folder
Delete the following directory: /Users/username/Library/Preferences/chc.4875E02D9FB21EE389F73B8D1702B320485DF8CE.1
IMPORTANT: Empty the Trash or Recycling Band to ensure proper removal of all files
Manually update the application at: http://www.adobe.com/support/chc/

Digital publishing with CS5 vs adobe air

i went to an indd user group meeting in nyc last night and the subject was using CS5 to create magazines for the ipad. as a strictly print kinda girl i'm anxious and interested in how this is all gonna work. they mentioned adobe air at one point and i looked it up (i told you, i'm a print girl) and i'm wondering what the differences are in air and .issue. in other words, after reading a very little bit about Air it looks like it does what indesign is doing for the ipad. i know not much about either so could someone explain the differences, why one is better than the other and when one would be used preferably over the other?

it was very interesting. just the number of people and the amount of anxiety in the room was interesting in and of itself.
what struck me, since i'm not in magazine publishing, is that this could, theoretically, replace traditional printing. why limit it to magazines? imagine direct mail and catalogues, brochures, being done this way and sent via email (altho on the other hand don't we have all that capability on the internet?) and once this is available on desktop macs and monitors, imagine the effect on events, is the technology there for a 15' long interactive media wall? but anyway, back to my original question, we outsource content here to another studio that uses Air to create touchscreens for tradeshow booths. so i've heard of Air but never used it. how does Air work? why would i use it if i could do everything in indd CS5? the one thing that did seem like an advantage, from what i read, was that Air didn't require a browser or application, it created a standalone app so that would seem like it would be device independent as well. can they be read on a plasma, a phone, an ipad?
i guess what i'm really wondering is if i'm going to invest the time to learn how to make .issue files and then find Air is the way to go. has anyone not been scarred by the betamax/vhs experience? if you have, you know my fear. : )

Hii, i want to develop applications for android using flash cs5, i have gone through blogs which gives me useful information regarding how to develop android applications using flash cs5.
i was tried to use adobe air 2.6. , but as we know adobe air 2.6 extension is still not released, so i think to use adobe air 2.5 for developing applications.

                                                        3. and most imp adobe air 2.5 extension(.apk) so that i can develop android apps using cs5.

Dreamweaver CS5.5 Adobe AIR Interface Still Generates 2.0 Namespace

Hello Dreamweaver Team,
I'm using Dreamweaver CS5.5 for Adobe AIR development using HTML/Javascript. I noticed that up to now, the Adobe AIR interface (AIR Application Settings... on the Site menu) still generates an 'application.xml' file with the 2.0 application namespace.
This is most likely because the "Adobe AIR Extension for Dreamweaver" I'm using (which is the latest available from Adobe) is not yet updated by Adobe for Adobe AIR 3.0.
When will the Dreamweaver Development Team release the Adobe AIR 3.0 Extension for Dreamweaver? Any ETA?

Nope. I haven't gone that deep into the Dreamweaver or AIR internals to know how to do that.
I simply manually edit the application xml file to change the version number to 3.0 before building the AIR file.

Could you try manually deleting the following folder: /Library/Frameworks/Adobe AIR.framework ? Once deleted, try installing again.

Why does Photoshop CS5 require me to run as Administrator?

I just installed a fresh copy of CS5 64 bit Extended Student and Teacher edition obtained direct from Adobe.
It installed fine and for the first ten or so times I used it it started without any difficulty. This morning it is refusing to start with an error message "could not open scratch file because the file is locked or you do not have the necessary access priveliges'.
(The first thing this morning it installed some updates - don't know if that has a bearing on the problem)
I CAN start it if I right click and 'run as administrator', but then the UAC dialog box comes up asking me to allow changes to my computer.
I have only on account, and it is an administrator.
I installed CS5 while logged in as administrator
I am logged in as administrator when I try to run it
If I look at the shortcut, it appears I have full access.
I changed my scratch disk location so it is not on my boot drive.
I believe I have the latest updates
I am running WIndows 7 64 bit, and the CS5 install was the 64 bit version.
While this may be a WIndows 7 issue, I don't understand why, if I am logged in as administrator CS5 won't start without the UAC nag dialog box. Is is something to do with it being the student edition?

Welcome to the joy of Windows UAC.
Even though you are logged-on using an account in the Administrators group, you are not normally running applications as an Administrator.
Therefore, if your permissions aren't set up properly to allow read-write access to the root folder on your scratch drive, Photoshop will not be able to access that folder.
