Installing Photoshop Without Original Disk

Okay...This is kind of complicated. I got Adobe Creative Suite 2 a few years ago and have been using it ever since (only the Photoshop). Then I bought a new MacBook Pro, and I want to install it on here. And the Photoshop I have is the CS2 Premium version, which comes with like 4 installation disks. So I entered one of the disks, entered the serial number, and then it said to please enter the first installation disk. Well...I don't have it anymore. I'm not really sure where it is, lost somewhere in my house. So is there anything I can do? And I no longer have access to my old computer in which it was originally installed on. HELP!

You can see if your serial works with the tryout version:

    Yes.
    Download Photoshop Elements products | 13, 12, 11, 10
However, the real issue is why the program is not working. Did you install anything recently?
When you tried to re-install from the disk, did you shut off the antivirus program temporarily?
Have you tried a system restore to a point in time when the program was working properly?

  • How to re-install photoshop without a disc?

I bought a new HP laptop 2 years ago with Photoshop elements pre-installed.  I had to re-install Windows and lost Photoshop.  How do I re-install Photoshop without a disc?

if you follow all 7 steps you can dl a trial here:  http://prodesigntools.com/tag/ddl
    and activate with your serial.
if you have a problem dl'g, you didn't follow all 7 steps.  the most common error involves failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).

  • Re-install Photoshop without the disc or registration number

My computer is starting to run really slow and it consistently freezes up when I run Photoshop and other applications. I want to reset my computer to its factory settings to get rid of any virus or other bad programs that were installed. However, I do not want to lose my PS application. It was purchased, not a free pirated version. But I no longer have access to the registration number or the disc. How can I re-install Photoshop without the number or the disc?

Wyldfire7 you can find your registered serial numbers on http://www.adobe.com/.  You can find additional details at Find your serial number quickly - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html.

  • Installing Programs Without The Disk Drive Icon Loading On Desktop

    Hey,
I am super anal and don't like any icons on my desktop and I am wondering how, when installing programs, you can install them without the disk drive icon being left on the desktop?
    Thanks.

Oh, right, sorry, one thing I didn't mention. I DO like to have CDs and DVDs and such show up on the desktop when I (seldomly) have them in my computer.
So, is there any other way? If I uncheck the CDs and DVDs line then this solves the disk drive icon but also gets rid of my CD icons.

  • Selling PowerMac G5 without original disk?

    Simplified:
Just moved - disks are packed away somewhere - need to sell computer - have a TIGER install DVD
How much value do you think would be lost by me not having the original install disks?
My plan is to do a clean install of TIGER on the computer.
The only thing they would not get is the hardware test disk.
    Your thoughts?
    D.

    CRUD!
I have spent all week looking in boxes for my original disks and/or my retail TIGER disk to no avail.
    So...
    Should I...
    1 - Buy original disks
    2 - Buy Tiger retail
    3 - Buy Leopard retail
My plan is to clear the hard drives (a 250 and a 500) and install the OS before I sell it.
Is this what you guys have done before selling yours or do you keep all your apps on it. I guess if I did that I could sell it without the OS disks.
Your thoughts are appreciated as always.

  • Installing Photoshop without a CD

How do I install Photoshop CS3 without a cd?  I have downloaded it and have my serial number, but when I try to install, it always asks me for the install cd. How do I install it without the cd and with just my serial number?

Download a fresh installer from here: Download CS3 products
It should ask only for a previous serial number if this is an upgrade.
Download Photoshop only, and not Photoshop Extended unless you have a serial number.
Before you install, use the CS Cleaner to remove any errant files or registry entries.

  • Installing Windows without Leopard Disk

Just wondering if there was any way I could install windows without the leopard disk. I'm at work right now and was hoping to install windows vista but my leopard disk is at home.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
If you have a copy of Windows Vista with you, you can use Boot Camp Assistant to create a Windows partition and install Vista on it. The only point is you cannot install the necessary drivers at this time since you do not have the Leopard DVD.

  • How can I install CS6 without a disk drive?

    Hi there!
I recently purchased the Creative Suite 6 Design and Web Premium addition.
The sales person at the store assured me that despite not having a CD drive in my Macbook Pro there would be a way to install/download the suite with the product information in the box.
So far, all I have been able to acheive is recovering my serial code. I am compeltely at a loss of how to even begin to start the install process without the a disc drive.
Is this possible or did the sales person send me down the wrong road?
    Thanks in advanced!

  • Installing OS 9 on PowerMac G4 without original disks

I wish to install Mac OS 9.2.2 on my PowerMac G4 that I recently bought second hand. It did not come with any discs. I have downloaded installation guides from the Apple support site.
I have loaded OS Tiger (10.4.11) using a retail DVD and software updates. Additional information is: Processor - 1.25Ghz dual; Memory - 2 GB; Graphics card - ATI Radeon 9000 Pro; Airport Card; PCI cards have been temporarily removed.
I have followed the instructions on the install disk and get the message:
“This program cannot run on your computer. See the documentation for more information.”
    The documentation reads:
    “Compatibility information
    IMPORTANT
    • Mac OS 9.2 supports Mac OS X compatible computers
You can install this version of Mac OS 9.2 on any of the following computers: Power Mac G4, Power Macintosh G3, PowerBook G4, PowerBook G3 (except the original PowerBook G3), iMac, and iBook.” [bold is mine].
The same statement is made on both Mac OS 9.2.2 install discs that I possess – one for eMac and one for PowerBook G4, both 2002 vintage.
I am aware of comments made by Don Archibald, Kenichi Watanabe and Grant Bennet-Alder that specifically contradict the preceding statement and, after my experience, I’m of the same opinion as them.
So . . . . . In the absence of a PowerMac G4 Mac OS 9 install disc, how does his plan sound?
I also have a Mac OS 9 retail disc and, thanks to insert_coin, from Barcelona I managed to find the updates to move from 9.0.4 to 9.2.2.
I create an OS 9.0.4 System on a disc and upgrade this to OS 9.2.2. I can probably do this with my PowerBook G4, which already runs Classic with OS 10.4.11. Another alternative is a PowerCenter Pro M180, but this involves either SCSI discs or large file transfer through the network.
I recollect from older OS that it was possible to custom install and select the machine that the OS was to be run on . . . but I’m probably dreaming about OS 6.0.3.
I then attach the disk to the PowerMac G4 and move the OS 9 System Folder to the PowerMac disk containing OS 10.4.11. Opening an OS 9 application (e.g. Control Panel) will, I hope, start Classic (provided the preferences are O.K.).

    Hi, fencerjohn -
    Welcome to Apple's Discussions.
Your plan is feasible, but there are some caveats.
    • The install disks for OS 9 that you have, for versions 9.0.4 and both 9.2.2 disks, require that the machine be booted to OS 9. Although this usually means booted to the CD, that is not mandatory - as long as the machine is booted to OS 9 (such as from its hard drive), the installer program will probably work. However, if the version on the CD is too old to support the machine whose OS 9 is running the installer, the installer app will probably refuse to run.
    • All default OS 9 installs (including upgrades using download updaters) are tailored to the machine which is running the installer. This means that an install performed on one model will probably not be able to boot a different machine.
There is a solution for this. All retail OS 9 Install CDs, and most OEM ones (the ones labelled Software Install, not the ones named Software Restore), have the ability to perform a Universal (boot any Mac) install of OS 9. Perform a universal install of OS 9.0.4, update it with universal installs of the needed updates, and it should work fine when transferred to the other machine, provided that the final version is one supported by that machine.
    • The last sentence brings up a potential problem - that your G4 MDD 1.25GHz model will not be supported by the download update for OS 9.2.2. Apple KBase Article #HT1835 - Mac OS 8, 9: Compatibility With Macs indicates (via note "(3)") that this may be the case.
To do a universal install -
    1) Boot the machine to the CD if necessary, then run the installer. Step through the pages in the installer (choosing the correct destination volume in the process) until you get to the "Install Software" page, the page with the "Start" button on it. Don't click that button.
    2) Click the "Customize" button at the bottom left of the page.
    3) On the new page, click the pulldown menu to the right of "Mac OS 9.x", and select "Customized Installation..." from the list offered.
    4) On the next new page, at the top is another pulldown menu labelled "Selection:" - click that menu and select "Universal Installation".
    5) OK that page, then click the "Start" button.
These instructions may apply to the OS 9.1 download update, do apply to the OS 9.2.1 download update, but do not apply to the OS 9.2.2 download update.
If all you need OS 9 for is to use it as Classic, then it need not be an install that is boot-compatible with your G4 MDD. If this is the case, then there is no need to do a Universal Install sequence for OS 9 and its updates.
