Installing Proofing tools, fails

Hi, Wonder if anyone can assist. I am a contractor working for a Company.
The company are installing Office 2013, They have a SCCM package (VBS) for Office2013 deployment. There are a number of Parts to the deployment.
Some machines, are getting this error, when The Proofing tools setup is run.
"Microsoft Setup BootStrapper has stopped working"
How can I get round this error. It is causing a 30048 exit code on the reports.
What can I do remotely to resolve this remotely, as not allowed to interrupt the user
Sparkylad

I have discovered that the English proofing tools are not installed as part of Microsoft Office. Can I install them from the Install Discs or do I need to uninstall the whole operating system (OSX 10.5.5) and install from scratch?
Are you talking about the Office trial version that can come with a new Mac? MS Office isn't part of OS X, and there should certainly be no need to reinstall the OS in order to do anything regarding Office.

  • Unable to install MS Office Proofing tools 2013 SP1 even after installing MS Office 2013

    Hi All,
When I run the "proofsp1.exe" manually by double clicking on it, I get the below error message. Proofing tools has already been installed and I am trying to install Proofing tools Service Pack1.

What is the language of office you have installed?

Are you working on 32 bit or 64 bit version of Office?

At last I was able to install  "proofsp1.exe" using the below command line with User Interface.
    "proofsp1.exe" "PACKAGE.BYPASS.DETECTION.CHECK=1"
But not able to install it silently using the below command line
    "proofsp1.exe" "PACKAGE.BYPASS.DETECTION.CHECK=1" "/quiet /norestart"
Please advice how to install "proofsp1.exe" silently or without the

  • VMWare Tools Fails to Install - Guest OS Windows 8.1 - vSphere 6.0

    Hi,
I am having issues installing VMWare tools on a Windows 8.1 guest. I recently upgraded from ESXi 5.5 to 6 and used the automated upgrade. I logged on to one of my Windows 8.1 VMs and noticed that a glibc error was popping up related to VM Tools so I uninstalled and attempted a reinstall. VMWare tools now does not install.. Can anyone shed some light on this? I think it has something to do with cscript.exe, when I attempt to run it from a command prompt I get an error that the program or feature cannot start or run due to incompatibility with 64-bit version of windows. cscript located in syswow64 works, is there any way I can force it to use that?
    Thanks!

  • How to install Chinese (Taiwan) Proofing Tool

    Hi,

  • Office 2010 Proofing Tools - Language appears as not installed

    Hi everyone,
let me start by saying that I have searched throughout Google and especially these forums and still haven't found a solution to my problem. We have purchased (at work) 7 new PCs with Windows 7 (64-bit) Office 2010 AND Proofing Tools already installed. To
cut a long story short, I've gone through the Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs and added the Greek Language (Run From my Computer). After that completes successfully, when I go in the Office 2010 Language Preferences the Greek Language Proofing Tools
still show up as Not Installed.
I've tried all the suggestions in the forum (Registry tweaks, Control Panel) but nothing works. I have seen other users with this issue in various forums and I would really appreciate if anyone can provide any suggestions on it.
Thank you very much for your time.

Same problem here. I've just upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1, so I had to reinstall all of my software, including Office 2010 English language with added Italian proofing tools. Of course, when I reistalled, my Italian proofing tools were gone. I
clicked on the link found under the options\language menu ("not installed") and downloaded "Italian Proofing Tools 2013", which installed correctly (they show up in my Installed Programs). Unfortunately, Word still won't recognise the Italian
proofing tools, even though I've followed all of the previous instructions (keyboard layout enabled etc.). Can you kindly provide help? It worked perfectly under Windows 7. I'd like to clarify that I don't need the whole Language Pack, just the Proofing Tools.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Problems with Proofing Tools 15.0.4420.1017

    Hi,
I`m having problem with installation of Proofing tools 2013 version 15.0.4420.1017, thing is when I install it on Windows 8 x64 OS where Office 2013 presents I cannot identify that version 15.0.4420.1017 of proofing tools has been installed.
I did also SCCM 2012 deployment to my machine and it failed because of detection method where it is not creating uninstall registries but if I remove one which is already installed by Office 2013 then it installs successfully. Can you please suggest the way
how to check more if version 15.0.4420.1017 of proofing tools has been installed when old version presents as well as I`m not sure actually how to test it. Hope that question make sense.

    Hi,
Thanks for your post. If I have understood you correctly, after installing the latest Microsoft Office Proofing Tools 2013, you are not able to tell whether or not it was properly installed on your computer.
I have tested it on my machine. I have Microsoft Office Proofing Tools 2013 - Chinese (Simplified) 15.0.4569.1506
installed on my machine before. And then, I downloaded and installed the latest 15.0.4420.1017 version. Both versions appear in my software list in Control Panel, see:
Please check in Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features and see if you have both versions there. If the new version of Proofing tools doesn't show in Control Panel, try reboot your system and check again.
If I have misunderstood anything, please feel free to post back.
    Thanks,

  • Microsoft word proofing tools and privacy

    Hi,
I have a question about privacy... Just recently I was typing in a word document. And then just this morning, when I was working in another word document, a window popped up. It said something about proofing tools and "help us improve," and
it contained a snippet of something I had been typing the other day. It said it was asking for permission to send this text to Microsoft and improve the tool, and that I could delete any part of text that I didn't want to be sent. I just clicked X and exited
. I'm worried, though. I have used Word for many years and I've never seen this before.
Is this something that is supposed to happen to everyone from time to time? Or was it a virus or fake message of some kind?   Does this affect my privacy in any way? I'm just very surprised that it even contained something I had written a few days
    ago.
Sorry, I'm far from computer savvy and I'd be so glad if someone could help me answer this question and resolve my worries.

    Hi,
As per your description, I think it should be the Help Improve Proofing Tools
    feature.
The Help Improve Proofing Tools feature collects data about your use of the Proofing Tools and sends it to Microsoft, such as accepting or rejecting spelling or grammar checker suggestions, changing proofing tool settings, or additions to
    the custom dictionary.
Before any data is sent to Microsoft, a dialog box appears to ask your permission. At that time, you can delete some or all of the entries before the information is sent.
At Microsoft, we're working hard to protect your privacy, we only use this information solely to improve our products, not to identify users. If you are concerned that a report might contain personal or confidential information, do not send the report.

  • Unable to Use Proofing Tools in Portuguese after Installation

    Good Afternoon!
I am wondering if someone might be able to point me in the right direction with this.
Our computers all run Windows 7 x64 Enterprise, with Office 2010 Professional Plus.  I have one user, who has enabled her Portuguese keyboard and also needs to install the proofing tools in Portuguese.  Following the link within Outlook (Not Installed
link) brings you to a "dead" page.  I found the proofing tools online, in both x86 and x64 (we run 32bit Office) and tried installing them one at a time.  The installation will complete successfully, but they tools still show as Not Installed.
I contacted AnswerDesk and they gave me a new file to try and the same thing happened.  For troubleshooting's sake, I tried this on my own machine as well (same software, different hardware) and had the same result.  Tomorrow I am going to uninstall
and reinstall Office and try again.
Would anybody have a suggestion on what else to try?  I'm kind of at a loss, and I'm guessing it is some silly little thing that I am missing (like a random checkbox!)
Thanks in advance for any and all help and suggestions!

  • Please help: Utility used to install the update failed with exit code {0}.

    Hi,
I admit to being a relative newbie at Solaris 10 administration, so please exercise forbearance on my behalf.
I have just installed Solaris 10 11/06 on my laptop x86. Everything went fairly smoothly. I used the Installation Check Tool 1.2 to decide if my machine was adequate to run the OS and with the exception of a NIC driver, it was. I downloaded the sfe driver and configured networking and it seems to work exceptionally well. However, when I run Update Manager in JDS (the only way I know how to run it), it fails to update some of the packages. Sometimes, if I retry the same packages, sometimes it will eventually work. But it keeps failing with the following error on a consistent basis over the last several days:
Utility used to install the update failed with exit code {0}.
I hunted around on the web and the results were not promising. Is there a log somewhere that will give me the actual error or do y'all know of a quick fix.
    Thanks,
    Will

That is strange indeed, could you try downloading and
applying the unsigned zip to see if that works? The problem persits:

  • Attempting retail install CS6, but failed installation occurs every attempt on Win7x64

First off, appologies for this post, I'm a bit flustered.
New Win7x64 computer and an attempt to install retail CS6 have failed. I now get the following error message upon each install attempt:  "Installer failed to initialize.  File not found.  Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem".  I did, and with some internet issues I finally sent in a report.  I tried the Cleaner tool several times, no help.  I attempted to remove a registry entry as described in a "bootstrapper error" fix, but that particular "InProgress Key" does not exist.
I even attempted to download and install a trial of CS6, but upon attempting to install I yet again recieved the same error message.
    What is my next move?
As with anyone else with an issue, I just want to intstall CS6 and be on my way.  I also own retail LR3 and Nik Silver Efex Pro 2 (plug-in), but I will not attempt to install those UNTILL I can resolve the CS6 install issue.  I need all 3 of these programs, now.
Once again, thank you for any assistance that can be provided.
    Jason

I solved my issue with a work around that I can live with, but I still have questions about why my CS6 disk would not install originally.
Okay, I decided to create a new Admin User account and shut down AV.  In the new Amin user account I loaded the CS6 disk, I was returned with a":you must restart" error.  I did.  Re-loaded CS6, I got the installer, I got the ueula, I got the product key page, I finally got into the authorized product screen, then when trying to log in my log in stalled for 15 minutes.  Just a gray screen with no other options but to shut the install down with Task Manager.  I did, and waited for the program to end on it's own, and NOT selecting the End Now option.  I started the process again, got the the sign in and I stalled again.  The third time finally got me conected, and I was then able to instal CS6x64 on my New Admin User account.
Once finished, I checked the program, good.  I then shut down and restarted, but logged onto my original Admin user account.  CS6x64 is there and fully functional, and plug in Silver Efex Pro 2 was added no problem.
So I am pleased I got the install working and I can fully use the program as intended, I still have questions about the issues that would not allow me to install normally.
Thank you all for looking, and thank you Curt for your responces.  I think I will still call Adobe and run this by them.
Install Error Not resolved, but worked around.

  • Proofing Tool English 2013

    Hello,
I have Microsoft Office 2013. Since a few days, my spelling checker stopped working. It does work for Dutch, but it says that the proofing tools for English (and all the other languages) need to be downloaded. When I go to the page it sends me to, to download
the tool, it does install the tool and I see it in my 'Programs and Features' (Control Panel) but when I open Word it says the tool is still missing. I've tried to do this:
"Click on Start > Control Panel > Control Panel > double-click Programs and Features >
Click Microsoft Office 2010 Edition >
click Change > In the Microsoft Office Edition dialog
box > click Add or Remove Features > Continue > Expand Office Shared Features > click the icon to the left of Proofing Tools > then click Run all from My Computer > Continue."
However, in my Programs and Features, I don't have the Microsoft Office 2010. I do have 'Microsoft 365' and 'Microsoft Office 2013' in the list. When I click on them
and then click 'change' it gives me a choice for either a 'quick repair' or a 'online repair.' Both do not work...
    Would really appreciate some help.
    JJK

    Hi,
According to your description, you are using Office 365 via Click to Run version. If we go to Control Panel > Control Panel > double-click Programs and Features, it only has 2 repair option and no Add or Remove Features option.
The above method applied to Office 2013 MSI version, not applies to C2R version.  Thus,we can install Office 365  languages/proofing tool directly from the
    Office 365 portal.

It's recommended to download and install
Configuration Analyzer Tool (OffCAT), which is developed by Microsoft Support teams. Once the tool is installed, you can run it at any time to scan for hundreds of known issues in Office
    programs.
