Installing PS CS 6 extended

I recently purchased the PS CS 6 Extended for Mac.  I have been a long time PS user (windows version).  When I called to purchase the upgrade I asked if I could upgrade to Mac using my windows version and I was told yes.
I purchased the upgrade, downloaded it, but when it came to the screen to input the pervious PS serial number I put in my last versions serial number.  I received a screen message that said "....the serial number is incorrect......."
Now what?  Do I have to contact live customer service for assistance?

  • Cannot Install Acrobat 9 Pro Extended - More Functional Product Available

I am trying to install Acrobat 9 Pro Extended on my new PC. I get an error that a more functional product is avilable on my PC and the install closes. I installed Framemaker 10 before attempting Acrobat 9 Pro Extended. I notice a folder in my files that is Acrobat 10 (but there is no icon or program option in the menus). Is this the problem? Do I need to uninstall Framemaker, then install Acrobat 9, and then reinstall Framemaker? Any help is appreciated.

Hi, yes, understood that they are different things. However, if I'm to
rely on the link provided on the first reply then does it follow that 9
Pro is also not supported on Mountain Lion? I have a MACbook here on OSX
Mountain Lion, and as I've also mentioned on my first post, I was able to
install 9 Pro and update it as well.
It really is just odd that Lion is singled out here. I also checked this
and there is no mention of problems with updating 9 Pro:

Sorry, but just trying to really find a workaround for this issue right
now. We though of using X Pro instead but, again, if I rely on the system
    requirements on this link -
    http://www.adobe.com/sea/products/acrobatpro/tech-specs.html - the OSX
version our user has is still not supported.

    Mac OS X v10.5.8 or v10.6.4

  • Moving Creative Suite 4 to new laptop. New download has 9 Pro, old install had 9 Pro "EXTENDED"

Moving Creative Suite 4 to new laptop. New download has 9 Pro, old install had 9 Pro "EXTENDED". Don't remember if my boss bought the "extended" as an exrta. BUT, when I go to Adobe and downlaod the "Extended" version, it says I have a better program already installed. IF this program is 9 Pro, then It is missing the 3D capture feature I was using to create 3D User Interactive PDFs of AutoCAD 3D models off the Model tab.   Any clue what I need to do?  Thanks,  Cliff

The version of Acrobat bundled with CS4 was Acrobat 9 Pro. Acrobat 9 Pro Extended was sold as a standalone product.
If you already have Acrobat 9 Pro Extended, then untick the option to install Acrobat when installing CS4, and you can carry on using the standalone copy. Acrobat and CS4 don't actually talk to each other, so installing CS4 won't affect your install of Acrobat unless you force the CS4 install program to replace it.

Hi, I am trying to install my Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended on my new Windows 8 OS 64 Bit computer. The CD does not have a scratch on it, it is like new. I get the error database is corrupted. Contact Adobe Support.
I went to the Adobe website and downloaded the updated installer, same error. I tried running the installer in Windows XP compatibility mode, it looks like it installed, but when I run I get database corrupted.
I could really use some help.

  • Install Acrobat 9 Pro Extended from Acrobat 9 Standard

I attempted to do an upgrade from Acrobat 9 Standard to Pro Extended having purchased the software from a sales rep who said I could do this as did technical support.
My system is XP Pro/SP2 32-bit.
During the install I ran into this problem. http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/401/kb401731.html. Being stupid I continued on
instead of stopping. Once I got to the section that I am asked to input the Pro Extended serial number and then my STandard serial number I ran into further problems. The dropp down menu asked for which current version of Acrobat, which of course for me was 9 Standard.
The problem was the drop down menu has no option for Standar only Professional.
Since the sales rep had told me I could upgrade I hadn't read the label on the Extended Pro box, which says it's only an upgrade for Professional If I had called in at that time I would have resolved that issue, but not the missing DLL.
I then found out I couldn't uninstall the mess so I did another stupid thing and did a system restore, which just compounded the problem. To make a longer story shorter I downloaded MS Windows Cleanup Utility and removed  Acrobat.com and Acrobat 9 STandard. I then downloaded WinCS4Cleanupscript and unzipped and ran it. So far so good.
Then I was advised to install Pro Extended as a trial and customer support would take care of the license issue. Ok, again so far so good.
I then attemped to install Pro Extended as trial and ran into a printer problem similar to what I had
encountered before, but not exactly the same.
"Setup can not copy file PSCRPTFE.NTF" and issues about printers not being Windows logo compliant I believe it was.
(I have a new wireless Brother HL-2170W laser and Canon MP830 inkjet and just updated the driver and firmware...maybe that will load the missing driver)
A this point the installation was terminated and I was advised to follow Adobe TechNote KB403613. The only item that I could possiblity help with this printer problem is the Hotfix kb-930627, but this is for a 64-bit system not 32? Do I download or not?
I also just found out that I still have some vestige of Pro Extended on my system though the MS Cleanup Utility doesn't list anything. Do I run WinCS4Cleanupscript again?
    a) How do I fix the PSCRPTFE.NTF issue with my printer(s)
    b) Do I download a 64-bit hotfix kb-930627to my 32-bit system...and will that solve the printer problem?
    c) Do I just ignore what's left of Pro Extended on my system or run Winc cs4Cleanupscript again. I can't run it directly from all programs, but if I click
on Acrobat 9 Standard under start it opens up or at least that's how it's identified.
    d) Anything else?

I might as well update my own question:
I followed the instructions given in the Adobe TechNote kb403613 after running WINCS4Cleanupscript.
However, I did NOT download the hotfix as that's for a 64-bit system. The phrasing of the hotfix wasn't very
clear to me, but I don't think when it stated XP Home or Professional meant a 32-bit system rather only 64-bit.
If anyone knows better let me know. I checked out that specific hotfix and said was for 64-bit OS.
    1) Created a new user account with Admin rights
    2)  I did the "intermediate troubleshooting" listed in kb403613 and found a few files to delete and I also ran the disk defragmenter.
Might as well catch any problems up front instead of waiting.
    3) There were several directories on the DVD but only copied Acrobat 9 Pro Extended to my desktop in the new user account.
    4) Ran msconfig and disabled all programs under the start up tab. Once you click OK a small window pops up
and you press restart. Remember to write down any programs listed in startup that are not enabled so you
can deselect those when you enable the startup menu again.
    5) On restart and booting up press F8 to get the start up options and select VGA mode.
    7) Once you in Windows log back into the account you created to just install Acrobat
    8) Open Acrobat 9 Pro Extended on your desk top and run the installer
    Desktop>Acrobat 9 Pro Extended>Acrobat9>Acro3D
    9) Run the install. In my case I selected trial version.
    10) I still ran into a problem with Windows Logo compatiblity issues with  my printers.
I could either continue or stop the installation, which I did to attempt to determine just what's
    causing that problem.
    11) there was some auto backout of files, but I still had to run MS Cleanup Utility again and remove Acrobat 9 Pro Extended.
Also ran WINCS4Cleanupscript though nothing there.
    12) I then did a restart and booted into normal Windows mode from VGA mode.
    13) Logged into my account and ran msconfig to enabled my startup menu and then deselected the ones I didn't want.
OK, I am back to square one. I checked the Windows Logo Product List and found my Brother HL-2170W is
XP, VISTA and W7 Windows Logo certified.
I checked my other printer a Canon Pixma MP830...well not so good. It's logo certified under Vista and W7, but not XP.
I had downloaded the lastest driver and firmware, but that didn't seem to help. I did email Canon. Now these printers had
no problems when I was running under Acrobat 9 Standard.
Right now my only option appears to be to just run the install and continue on when I get to the printer issue. Still don't know what
will happen when I get to the serial numbers. I am suppose to call support and they will fix activation. So I am told...

  • I can't install Adobe Photoshop CS4 extended at all

I downloaded Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended (Trial Version) from the Adobe.com website through Akamai downloader. Well, i tried to install it clicking on the set up, but it started to install and a few minutes later stopped and displayed a error message. The message, without error code identifications, just informed that there was an error during the instalation and Adobe bridge and another one could not be installed.
I tried again and it started, but when it was almost finishing another message appeared warning that "there was an error during the instalation(again no code error identification) and that Photoshop could not be installed.
I follow some tips like shutting down the firewall, AV,  but it didn't work. I used the system restoring so that i could completely clean up remaining files and tried to reinstall it, but again nothing.
    Has anybody any idea?
    Thanks

There is a difference between being the Administrator on the computer and right-clicking on the Setup file and choosing "Run as Administrator".
I know that John, when i said that i usually run the system as administator, i meant that i logged on as administrator. Sorry if i caused a misunderstood.
I decided to format the computer again. Perhaps, some problem during the system instalation may have caused this problem. After that, i'll try to install it and see what's gonna happen. I've decided to do it because If it is caused by an instalation error of the main system, it may  also cause hassles when using other softwares. But if it is not caused by an instalation error i'll come back to get help.
    Thanks for responding

  • PS CS6 installed instead of CS6 Extended

    Hi there,
I downloaded the installer for the trial of Photoshop CS6 Extended, however upon installing it and using the trial, I do not have access to the 3D menu or any other Extended features. When the program starts up, it only reads Adobe Photoshop CS6 and the About Photoshop popup in the Help menu reveals it to be CS6 instead of Extended. Have I taken a wrong turn somewhere? I had problems with the download manager too in that after signing into it with my account the download did not immediately start and instead I had to select Photoshop CS6 from the list within the manager. Any help would be much appreciated, thank you!

Are you seeing the 3D menu grayed out, or is it just missing?
Very occasionally we hear from folks who say the Photoshop trial does not expose the Extended features, where they really should be showing.
I don't ever recall hearing a workaround or why this might happen.  Did you download the software directly from Adobe?  Is there any chance it's set to run in compatibility mode for XP?

  • Installing MAC Photoshop CS3 Extended

I just purchased, for my older MAC runnning 10.5.8, Photoshop CS3 Extended. I received 1 DVD disk, but during the installation, the progress bar indicated I was installing 1 of 3 disks, and of course about a third of the way through I was prompted to insert the next disk, but I did not get one. Am I missing something?

  • I want to download re-install PS CS5, not extended

    Hi,
After a computer crash and (oops) lack of adequete back-up, I want to reinstall PS CS5. I figured the easiest way would be to download and install the trial and enter my serial number. Unfortunately the only trial available is PS Extended, which obviously won't accept the standard PS serial number.
As I'm travelling I don't have my disk with me. It's an upgrade disk since I've been upgrading PS since the fist version I owned (3.0)
Please advise if there's a way for me to simply download the standard version of PS so I can enter my serial number.
    Thanks

Unfortunately the only trial available is PS Extended, which obviously won't accept the standard PS serial number.
Why do you think so? There is only one trial and it covers Extended and Standard. The feature set is solely defined by the serial, not a specific installer. therefore downloading the trail and inputing your serial will/ should work. The only question of concern is the mention of the ugly little word "upgrade"...

  • Install order, PS CS5 extended and LR3 upgrades...

I just purchased PS CS5 extended (upgrade from cs3 extended) and LR3 (upgrade from LR1). Which product should I install 1st, or does it matter?
    Thanks for any suggestions.
    Dan

Install 3.2 first, remove CS3, then install CS5. This should make sure that the correct app path is in the registry so 3.2 can find the path to CS5.
The reason people are having to reinstall CS5 is because when they install it, before removing the older version, the uninstaller for the older version removes the app path from the registry. One then must either reinstall CS5 or manually add the app path to the registry.
Doing it in the order I gave you should avoid having to jump through a bunch of hoops.

  • Re: Moving Creative Suite 4 to new laptop. New download has 9 Pro, old install had 9 Pro "EXTENDED"

Thank you, I did get the EXTENDED loaded.
New issue now. This worked on my old laptop, just can't get it working now on new laptop.
OPEN an Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro EXTENDED PDF template.
    Multimedia tab
    3D Tool
    Create a window for it
    Select Capture 3D button
Open the AutoCAD 2008 Model space Window
    Click the PRINT SCREEN key
    Screen flashes
    Back to PDF hit ok
A User Interactive 3D model shows up in the PDF template.
    Done.
It seems as the Print screen key is not working.
I did notice a difference in the Extended-EDIT-Preferences-3D Capture- lists AutoCAD Application "path" with acad.exe on old laptop and senddmp.exe on new. ( I have not found a way to edit that to see it it would fix it)
Anything you can think of that I can do to get this working again?
    Thanks, Cliff

  • I am having problems installing adobe photoshop cs5 extended

    Hi,
When I install this version of photoshop, I type in the serial number which allows me to install the program, then once installed it asks for another serial number in which I type the same number in only to be told it is an invalid serial number.
I was wondering if anyone is able to help me figure this problem out.
    Thanks Leeroy

You've bought an upgrade version and you've entered your upgrade serial number.
The second serial number requested is one from an earlier version of Photoshop which made you eligible to buy the upgrade.
If you don't have an earlier version serial number then you've bought the wrong version. You need to return the upgrade version and buy the full version.
