Installing Shockwave player on Windows x64 for IE9 x64

My computer is running Windows 7 Home Premium x64.
I have upgraded my (32-bit) Shockwave player to version 12.1.3r153, and it appears to be working for IE9 32-bit, and Firefox 28 (32-bit).
I was fairly certain that in the past, I had downloaded and installed a 64-bit Shockwave player for a previous version of Shockwave, but I can't be 100% sure of that.
I'm trying to upgrade/install Shockwave player 12 (64-bit) on this computer for use with IE9 64-bit, but I cannot find the Shockwave 12 64-bit install package download. It appears that there is not a 64-bit version of Shockwave player 12 available.
Where can I download a 64-bit version of Shockwave 12 for Windows 7 x64?
If this is not available, have they abandoned 64-bit for Shockwave?
Is there an older (but fairly recent) version of Shockwave available in a 64-bit version?

There has never been a 64 bit version of Shockwave. You are perhaps confusing it with the Flash Player which does have a 64  bit version

  • Installing Flash Player on Windows Vista for Dell

I am trying to install the lastest version of Flash Player on a computer system that has a specific version of Vista on it. It has the version that is specific for Dell computers. I have administrator permissions on the computer but it says that it doesn't have proper authorization. I have tried downloading the update and right clicking it to run as administrator, but it still gives me the same issue. What advise can you give?

Download and run the offline installer from http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html#mai n-pars_header
If you continue to have problems, can you post the exact message you are getting (or a screenshot of it).

  • I had installed flash player on Window 8.1 for 32 bit and now I have to change it to 64 bit.

I had installed flash player on Window 8.1 for 32 bit and now I have to change it to 64 bit.

I don't understand what you are saying: you change Windows to 64-bit?
Just reinstall Flash Player, and it will automatically install both 32-bit and 64-bit players on a 64-bit system.

  • Cannot install Flash Player in Windows 8.1

Tried to install Flash Player in Windows 8.1 (32 bit).  Used all the instructions; i.e, disable saftey, enable scripting, etc. An install box says Update KB2934802 is already installed.  Searched computer for KB.....02 and Flash Player.  Says none exist.  Any suggestions?

Ever since Windows 8, Flash Player for Internet Explorer is written by Adobe ONLY. It's embedded by Microsoft, and you cannot:
    - Update it
    - Download it
    - Install it
    - Reinstall it
from here. You MUST update Flash Player ActiveX (for Internet Explorer) through Windows update. But... Using Windows 8.1 means you were forced to update to IE11, which has it's own problems and they can be summed up in three words...
    "User-Agent Strings"
That doesn't mean a lot, I'm sure, but it's the root of your problems, and Flash Player has nothing to do with it.
Microsoft "rewrote" the User-Agent Strings for the abomination they call their latest and greatest browser. User-Agent Strings are what websites use to identify the browser you're using and provide the proper content for it's browser engine, like ActiveX stuff, and Flash or HTML5 video. Thanks to the geniuses in Redmond, WA, the User-Agent Strings for IE11 (which has a Trident engine), ID it as either "Gecko" (Firefox) or "Webkit" (Chrome). Problem is: when the site the directs to the content for one of these two engines, the Trident engine in IE can't intepret it and the site then sees IE as an "unidentified" browser.
The problem with an unidentified browser is that the plug-ins in that browser aren't recognized either, so even though you're up to date, it says you need the latest Flash Player when you use IE11. YouTube... has converted to HTML5 video so if it doesn't detect Flash Player, it can display HTML5 (MP4) video which requires no plug-in to play. Facebook can't do that, because HTML5 doesn't apply to games... only video.
Microsoft has no plans to "fix" the mess thay've created because they think it's a great idea to block you out of the websites you visit.
They recommend using "Compatibility View" and pretending that you're using an older verison of IE... Problem with that is that it's seen limited success, and you have to enable it for EVERY page that has problems... individually.
The REAL solution, like the original problem can also be summed up in three words:
    "Use another browser"
    Firefox (from Mozilla)
    Opera (from Opera)
    Safari (from Apple)
    Chrome (from Google)
ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.

  • Print to Go stopped working after install of KB2992611 on Windows 7 for x64 system

A large number of critical and importatnt Microsoft security related updates showed up on 11Nov2014 that were installed. Subsequently several failures happened after the restart (i.e. IE would freeze when started, Print to Go
stopped working - indicated that there was no connection to the Internet, the PrintToGoLog.txt  had much more detail).
Other BB playbook users reported similiar problem after one of the updates KB2992611 was applied,
After KB2992611 (Security Update for Windows 7 for x64 system) was uninstalled, Print To Go functioned properly. Unfortunately, I.E still failing. Firefox is OK.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi,
I recently updated by Q10 to the latest Rogers 10.3.1 software release, and was going through my apps to verify they were all still functional.  I found that Print-to-Go was not working. As I do not frequently use the app, I do not know if the recent device software update is the cause.
After a bunch of searching around the web, I came across two possible issues:
    1) SSL 2.0 setting within the Internet Options settings on my PC
    2) Windows Update kb2992611
My PC is running Windows 7 64-bit Pro, with latest Print-to-Go driver and BB Link installed.  The problem I encountered is that when printing from the PC the pop-up window would fail to load the page that allows you to sign in to Blackberry ID and verify the link to your device. The https://ptg.blackberry.com page would return a server error.
Enabling SSL 2.0 within the Internet Options on my PC appeared to fix this problem, as I was able to access the BBID login page. However printing documents would still fail.
I then uninstalled Windows Update kb2992611. This fixed the problem. Print-to-Go functioned as expected, and documents would appear on my device.
I then disable SSL 2.0 within the Internet Options on my PC, and there was no effect. Print-to-Go still functioned.
I then reinstalled Windows Update kb2992611 and Print-to-Go appeared to work (ie you could sign-in with BBid), but printing of documents would fail and give an error message. Uninstalling the Windows Update again fixed the problem and PTG would work fine.
So, it appears there is a conflict between Print-to-Go and Windows Update kb2992611.
Will Blackberry be updating their desktop PTG driver so that it is compatible with this Windows Update?
The Windows Update addresses a security issue, so I'm not comfortable leaving my PC with this update not installed.

  • Correctly installed Flash Player 11.5, prompted for new instalation

    Hello everybody,
I have a Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and running a IE9, latest Firefox and Google Chrome.
I installed Flash Player 11.5 correctly, checking the version on Adobe.com.
Now, after using Flash Player on Youtube and other websites, I started getting prompted to install Flash Player 11.5.
First I canceled the process, but then the window came up again and I reinstalled the latest Flash Player 11.5.
At the same time, all the websites using this content were still working.
Please tell me what to do, because that Pop-up Window keeps on showing up to tell me to reinstall, while the Flash Player keeps working without any problems.
    Thank you

I'd experienced it on both Mac and Win 7, after second or third installation, it stopped popping up. It must have been a bug.

  • Can't Re-Install Flash Player at all and now Can't Re-install Shockwave Player

I am helping a user who states his Flash Player vanished, when trying to download the latest version we are getting:
    error message: "Installation failed. www.adobe.com/go/tn_19166"
The system is running Windows XP Pro and Internet Explorer 6. I have tried all of the troubleshooting and tips/tricks found here and via searching with Blackle. This user has to use all sorts of types of flash players to do his job and needs to get Adobe's running again. I have tried everything and he is NOT willing to reimage the pc yet. Can anyone help???

Try uninstalling Flash Player first, then do a clean install
    download the FP uninstaller from http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_14157 (save to disk);
    download the offline ActiveX installer http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe (save to disk);
close all browser windows, then run the downloaded uninstaller, followed by the installer.
The offline installer for Shockwave Player is here http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/shockwave/default/english/win95nt/latest/Shockwave_In staller_Slim.exe

  • Installing Flash Player on Windows 2000

Thanks to numerous past discussions, methods have been found for installing Flash Player 11.2.202.235 on Windows 2000. See this thread, which explains how to use HxD Hex Editor to make a simple change that will allow installation on Windows 2000:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4428785
The original post goes into fine detail with illustrations. Here's a quick redux:
    - Download the latest Adobe Flash Player (IE or non-IE) for Windows 32-bit systems.
    - Download HxD Hex Editor hereabouts (VirusTotal rates it clean):
    http://mh-nexus.de/en/hxd/
    - Unzip and install HxD.
    - Launch HxD and open the Adobe Flash Player Installer, something like:
    install_flash_player_32bit.exe
    - Hit F3 for HxD's search function, and search for SetDllDirectoryW
    - On the right-hand side of the HxD display, change SetDllDirectoryW to GetModuleHandleW
    - SaveAs install_flash_player_32bit_Win2k.exe or similar.
    - Quit HxD and run the modified Flash Player Installer. It should install fine on Win2k.
This worked for me using Flash Player Installer 11.2.202.235, both IE and non-IE versions.
This is a hack and is not officially supported by Adobe.

I installing the Adobe Flash plugin ONLY by my own hand. Sadly, Adobe did not come up with zip archive with just the plugin dll file, but I install - copy the DLL - and uninstall. Then manually delete the remaining files and just use the DLL or the installer.
To make the installe work at Win2k, the very same hack is need - hack the Flash Util file the same way, as the dll - change in it the SetDllDirectoryW to GetModuleHandleW and that it is!
If someone want, there is Flash Util and Adobe Flash as DLL files, hacked with W2k:
    http://rapidshare.com/files/3122942562/Flash%20Players%20for%20W2k.zip
    http://depositfiles.org/files/max4wif3c
    http://www.sendspace.com/file/z2t9j2
Archive contain Adobe Flash unpacked (ready to copy into Firefox) with their utility files hacked for W2k in these versions: Flash Player 9.0.124.0, Flash Player 10.0.32.18, Flash Player 10.1.85.3, Flash Player 10.1.102.64, Flash Player 10.2.159.1, Flash Player 10.3.183.29, Flash Player 11.2.202.235, Flash Player 11.3.300.273, Flash Player 11.4.402.287
Interesting thing. Fullscreen video won't work on YouTube (only white screen, sound go ok) with Firefox v3.0.14 and Adobe Flash higher version that 10.0.32.18... Strange, strange
(could be that the Firefox is kinda old, but it is weird that v10.0.32.18 works flawlessly and just v10.1.85.3 not at all in fullscreen... I also use relatively old Forceware drivers v45.28 on crap GF2MX400 card :-) )

I buy the ipod nano, but i don't know how to save the music my ipod nano by itunes, because i cannot install the disc on windows ME,PLEASE HELP

Sorry, but itunes cant be installed onto a windows ME machine, it is too old an operating system. You can:
    1) Take the nano back if its within your stores money back time and buy another player thats compatable.
    2) Upgrade to a better OS, windows XP is usually the one thats most available.
    3) Install another player. Through one of Bruce Hoover's posts i learned of XPlay2, a free trial program downloadable from MediaFour.com that will let you do most things with your ipod that itunes would, including updating and restoring software. The only thing you cant do is buy from the itunes music store.

  • Installing Flash Player on Windows 7 Professional 32-bit IE closed but still requests closing

Windows 7 Professional is using Internet Explorer 11.0.9600 with update 11.0.15.  Installing Flash Player 16.0.0.305. Starts installing and stops at 72%, advising that Internet Explorer needs to be closed and then try again.  In Task Manager IE is not open.  Tried going to the Active X download and ended up at the same error.  We installed Windows 365, if that impacts the installation, though it has not stopped any other installations done after installing 365.  Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

First, confirm that ActiveX Filtering is configured to allow Flash content:
    https://forums.adobe.com/thread/867968
Internet Explorer 11 introduces a number of changes both to how the browser identifies itself to remote web servers, and to how it processes JavaScript intended to target behaviors specific to Internet Explorer. Unfortunately, this means that content on some sites will be broken until the content provider changes their site to conform to the new development approach required by modern versions of IE.
You can try to work around these issues by using Compatibility View:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view#ie=ie-11
If that is too inconvenient, using Google Chrome may be a preferable alternative.
