InstallShield 3.0.111.0

Hi,
i have been trying lately to package a very old application that we have, Poetica v1.5. The problem is that this application use InstallShield v3.0.111.0 to install itself. Here are the steps that i use right now:
1- Copy the files to a temp folder. Ex.: C:\Temp\Poetica
2- Launch a Windows application.
%SYSTEMDRIVE%\Temp\Poetica\setup.exe -s -f1 setup.iss
3- Since i can't just move file/folder it seems, then i do a copy of the differents shotcuts to where a want them.
4- Finally, it's time for a clean up of the temporary files and folders.
The problem is that even if the application itself has finish installing, a process of InstallShield 3 is still keeping a lock on my %SYSTEMDRIVE%\Temp\Poetica folder ! So i get an error with my bundle installation each time. So is there a way to circumvent this problem?
Any help will be very appreciated!

Oracle Server 11.2.0.1.0 64-bit fails when invoked from InstallShield

I'm trying to install the Oracle Server 11.2.0.1.0 64-bit on Windows 2008 SP1 from the InstallShield 2010.
The installation is silent. Invoked by command line:

The problem is that when the command is invoked from command line (cmd), the installation is successful.
However, when the same command is invoked from under the InstallShield, the installation fails on Architecture requirement check:

The questions:
1. Why the requirement checks give different results when installation is invoked from CMD and from InstallShield?
2. Why the requirement checks are done despite the parameters "-ignoreSysPrereqs" and "use_prereq_checker=false"?
3. What should I do to get the installation pass (either remove the check or make it satisfying)?
PS. The 32 bit Oracle Server installation on Windows 2003 works without problem when invoked from InstallShield.

Please use 2008R2 if you want to install 11gR2 versionThank you for that update. Possibly it will help me to solve another trouble.
Regarding the problem I described, the issue is that I install Oracle Client 32 bit prior to trying to install Oracle Servier 64 bit.
The Oracle Client setup had started RemoteExecService.exe 32 bit process. And the process remained running after the installation completed.
The Oracle Server setup utilizes the running RemoteExecService.exe process. Since the process is 32 bit, the architecture requirement check had failed.
I've added to my script killing the process
taskkill /F /IM RemoteExecService.exe
before invoking the Oracle Server installation.
That way the Oracle Server setup starts another RemoteExecService.exe process and the new process is 64 bit.
The architecture requirement succeed.

I use my bh-111 with my windows phone, my laptop and my wife's android jellybean phone without issue but the ipad mini will not find it, any ideas?

UK Payroll : /111 Splitting

Hi Experts,
The issue is regarding with wage type /111 and related PCR.
We have one customized wage type 1234 in IT0014. As per the requirement it should calculate percentage of /111 and percentage will be given in IT0014.
For this we have written one customized PCR, working fine. However whenever EE salary changes (increase) in retroactively /111 is splitting twice (In RT table it is showing both cumulated value) and WT 1234 is calculating percentage on first part of /111.
Ex: Employee April’14 month /111-pensionable pay are £1000 (Monthly salary is also £1000) and April’14 payroll has been run, WT 1234 value is £100 which is 10% of /111.
In May’14 the EE Monthly salary increased to £2000 with effective 15.04.2014. While running retro for April’14 in May’14, WT /111 are splitting into two parts. One is £1000*14/30=£466.67 & 2000*16/30=1066.66 at processing level (in RT it is showing 1533.34, Correct value). Based on increase of /111, the WT 1234 value should be 153.34 (466.67+1066.66=1533.34), however in RT table I can able to see only £46.67 which is calculating percentage on the first part of /111.
As per the requirement my WT 1234 value should be calculate on final value of /111 rather than first part of /111 even though retro process happened.
I have enter my PCR in ZGL0 sub schema I have also tried to add this PCR after GPENS, but no luck.
Request you to help me am I missing anything.

Print Excise invoice in Series grp 111 using J1IP for Billing document 1234

I have an issue in which I create Sales Document>>Delivery Document and after that if I save my Billing Document a message pops up like:
Print Excise invoice in Series grp 111 using J1IP for Billing document 12345
And Excise Invoice gets generated automatically without J1IIN, to which I can view in the display mode in J1IIN.
I wish to Create Excise Invoice by using T Code: J1IIN not automatically.
I have checked all the number ranges and search the forum extensively but couldnu2019t found a possible solution.

The system creates the excise invoice in the background.
Dependencies
If you want to make use of this function, you must also define the default plant, excise group, and series groups in Customizing for Excise Duty, by choosing Business Transactions -> Outgoing Excise Invoices -> Maintain Default Excise Groups and Series Groups
SPRO>Logistics General>Tax on Goods Movement>India>Basic Settings-->Maintain Excise Groups.
Under the Outgoing Excise invoice tab there is a check box (Excise invoice during billing)

When I start Bonjour for windows it identify de printer, but when i continue my printer is not in the list, I used the browse buttom and selected the .inf file that is contained in the driver and Bonjour collapsed everytime

What model and firmware is the 2TB TC?
What firmware is the AE?
Does the AE get good signal from the TC in its current location?
Signal can only be extended that is received intact.
Is it extending on 5ghz? As I remember it a Gen2 AE is only single band, although you can choose either 2.4ghz or 5ghz.
I am fairly sure you are going to tell me your TC is AC model..
I would do a couple of things..
1. Fix the wireless name, make it short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
2. Fix the wireless channel for 2.4ghz so it is not going to jump around.
3. Get real results from the AE in its current location for signal strength.. this is really only possible on v5 utility. And that is a double pain with Mavericks because you cannot use it.
Apple have removed all the useful diagnostics from the airport utility. There is next to nothing left. So you need to use the computer and its diagnostics to find signal levels in the location.

Can't install recon 3d fatal1ty pro on win 8.1 (stuck at installshield wizard 0%)

Hi, I haven't been able to install the drivers or the panel software for my creative recon 3d, I tried every solution in the forums:
removing video card (as it has audio drivers), disable onboard audio (bios and windows), tried with both disable, and nothing, the setup stays in the installshield wizard at 0%.
I run it from cd, and downloaded several times from the webpage, as an administrator, and nothing.
my setup
i7 4770k water cooled, asrock fatal1ty z87 killer, 16gb ddr3 pc14600 ram, gforce gtx770 GPU, sdd 256gb as main hdd with win 8,.1 64bit,pioneer bd-r206 unit, sata card controller (which i removed while triying to install the recon 3d, 850w psu GOLD.
I also tried deleting the creative temp folder and nothing, it always stays on installshield wizard or as a background process even when closed (after a first run after resetting) please advice.

Man I am going to be honest with you, I had the same issue tried everything to fix it. The last resort was doing a clean install of OS, its a pain but if you do it wipe your SSD drive clean make sure of that man. After doing this my sound blaster z worked, I also had the recon 3d and it worked as well after doing this. Hope this helps man.

Please ensure that the Intel Matrix Storage Manger was included into the Win XP setup.
During the installation of XP, setup will ask you to include the 3rd partly sata drivers.
Then you should press the F6 button und could include the Intel Matrix Storage Manager from the external USB FDD drive.

Creating an automated silent install of Acrobat using InstallShield Tuner - Part 1

For anyone who has tried to use the InstallShield Tuner application you'll know how buggy the program is and be aware of the lack of support from Adobe. After 4 months working on and off I managed to get a (mostly) working silent install. I thought I would share my findings with everyone so as to help prevent a few headaches.
Note I am based in England and some of my comments may not apply to US customers.

Acrobat 6.0.1 Admin Install Point Creation & Maintenance
Creating the Install Point
1. Copy files to the network share that will be your Admin Install Point.
For Acrobat Professional these files are on the Acrobat CD
For Acrobat Reader you will need to download the latest version from www.adobe.com. Adobe is using a new compression package called Netopsystems FEAD Optimizer to deliver its Acrobat Reader application. To extract the files double click the downloaded .exe file and wait until the actual Reader installation begins. The uncompressed files are temporarily stored in %system root%\Cache\Adobe Reader 6.x.x\ENUBIG. Copy these files to the network share.
Once the installation files are copied to the network share select them, right click, choose properties, switch off read-only attribute for all files (inc sub folders).
2. Install the InstallShield Tuner 6.0.1 from Adobe Acrobat
(http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/deployment.html)
3. Install the software that you intend to create a .MST file for (Acrobat Reader or Pro) and update it to the same version number as the Tuner (6.0.1 at the time of writing). The latest Acrobat can be downloaded from Adobe as can patches for Acrobat Professional.
Note: After further investigation his step may not be necessary.
4. Due to a bug in the InstallShield Tuner the PCs language and regional settings must all be set to English US. (START Menu Settings Control Panel Regional and Language Options). Set everything to English US.
5. Run InstallShield Tuner 6.0.1 for Adobe Acrobat and when prompted choose Rdr60ENU.itw (for Acrobat Reader) or AcroPro.itw (for Acrobat Writer Pro). These files can be found in the location you specified in step 1.
Acrobat Reader Configurataion
1. When prompted choose Create a New Transform
2. Select Adobe Reader 6.0.1.msi as the base .MSI file
3. Give the .MST file a name
4. Click Create (this may take a minute to process)
5. Configure your install options
6. File - Save
Acrobat Writer Pro Configuration
1. When prompted choose Create a New Transform
2. Select AcroPro.msi as the base .MSI file
3. Give the .MST file a name
4. Click Create (this may take a minute to process)
NOTE: Do not click on the Organisation Product Properties field. If you do the installer will return a transform error when you try to deploy Acrobat. Instead enter these details in the Abcpy.ini file and via the command line. (See step 5)
5. Amend the Abcpy.ini file as below:
ISX_SERIALNUMBER=xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx (where xxxx is your serial number)
USERNAME=xxxxxxxxxx (where xxxx is the users name)
Company name should be entered from the command line (See Installing Acrobat Writer section below)

Ok, I'm not the sharpest pencil in the box. I'm distributing Elements 6.0 from a server and having user go to Start, Run and typing \\servername\project folder name\setup.exe but keep getting the error "Incorrect command line parameters. I'm trying different variations in the command line field in Tuner such as: setup.exe /s /v/qn What am I missing?

Hi,
I'm just new to the RMI field of JAVA. I'm trying to write a program that import the math.jar file in the server side. And the client end can invoke the methods of math.jar and get the value.
I got the error messages as below:

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/mathwhizz/Heron
It can work well if I use source classes(*.class) directly instead of importing math.jar. The failure only happened when I try to make use of jar file. Thus I guess my setup and configuration should be ok. Is there anything I should be very careful if I try to run RMI and import a jar file in the program of server side ?
Do I need to use JNLP and web start application in this issue?

Can't open raw files in cs5. When I try to download updates I keep getting download errors ? I have a canon 5D mark 111 ?

I am currently running CS5, on windows. I can't open any raw format files in photoshop (I took some photos with a canon 5D mark 111). I went to updates tab to try to update cs5, but I keep getting download errors and am unable to update. Any ideas on how to fix this ? Trying to edit some wedding photo's I took.

Adobe currently offers two versions of Photoshop:
CS6 (perpetual license: pay once, own forever: no upgrades)
CC (Cloud version: subscription only: all upgrades are free)
CS6 is superseded software. Adobe is no longer working on it. However CS6 is still being offered for sale for those who want it. However, since CS4 is not eligible for an upgrade to CS6, you're faced with paying full price for CS6.
The CC option requires a monthly fee but it's the current version. It's the next major version after CS6. New and enhanced features are added to CC regularly.
If neither the full priced CS6 nor the Cloud CC version are for you then the free DNG converter is your other option so you can continue using CS4.
You download the free Adobe DNG converter http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/extend.displayTab2.html
Then you must open all 5D Mark III Raw files in the converter and convert to DNG. That adds an extra step to your workflow. Then you can edit the DNGs in CS4.
Quality-wise DNG files = Raw files. Raw files are manufacturer and camera specific. DNGs are open source. Any software which reads DNG files can read them.

Capturing 720p to mac from JVC GY-111

Hey
I have been working with a JVC GY-111 camera and FCP5. When I go to capture the footage I have the problem of the camera being recognised etc. etc. and I have been using DVHScap to capture it and then Mpeg streamclip to bring it into FCP as a quicktime movie. This has all worked well but there are some problems with this system.
Firstly the footage that is downloaded is always out of sync with the audio and this is a pain as it seems that frames have been lost throughout the capture and there each clip has to be synced up individually which is very time consuming.
Secondly there has to be a better way to do this. It takes too long to capture all the tapes like this and then replay them all in Streamclip
Does anyone know a better way to capture from JVC GY-111 series of cameras and if so what is it?
Secondly can anyone tell me why the frame are being dropped or how I can try to solve this sync problem

yeah but the FCP software doesn't recognise the camera I have to capture it in the complicated way above to try to get it onto the computer and then I have to bring it into FCP. The problem is that when the footage is captured as a quicktime file it is already out of sync. I think it is something to do with the stop/start points or something
