Integrate UCM 11g with SES 10g

Hi all,
Does anyone know if it is possible to connect SES 10g with UCM 11g? In the certification matrix of ECM 11g it says:

Does this mean that SES 10g cannot be used as full text search engine with UCM 11g?
Another related question: I seem to recall that starting from UCM 11g documents are stored in the database instead of on the file system by default. Is this true, and does this also require an 11g database version? I cannot find anything about this in the installation guide.

Unfortunately we're dealing with a Windows stack, and SES 11g isn't out yet for Windows.
Regarding your second point: you guys at Fishbowl really have a solution for everything ;-).

Even though i am not tried with your configuration settings but looking at your error message it say "No server defined for FUILD_CURRENT_JOB_STATUS".
Have you done setup for IBR using Providers at Content server(Here you will mention you IBR server details)....?

UCM 11g with IRM 11g

hello ,
i need to know if i can configure ucm 11g with IRM server 11g ??
in 10g we have two components "**IRMIntegration IDC and IRMIntegration IBR** "
i dnt know if i need same components to do the same integration in 11g version ..

As I mentioned earlier, you would need to modify the Hot Folders application to do what you wanted. For example, I know of a customer who has had it modified so that the original creation date and author of the sealed file is unchanged from the original file. So this kind of modification is possible. You would also have to do extra modification to have UCM manage the document first (for example indexing the original and potentially creating extra renditions).
If you seal the documents individually and store them in UCM, you will not be able to full-text index them because a sealed file is a black box to UCM. Your indexing would be limited to user-supplied metadata fields only therefore (DATABASE.METADATA in UCM terms). There might be another method whereby you use something like the ZipRendition component to store the unsealed version of the file for full indexing, but I don't know enough about UCM to go into this deeply without doing some research.

Not able to login UCM 11g with the users created in weblogic

Hi,
Users which I am creating in the weblogic server not getting reflected in UCM 11g.
I am able to create the user successfully in weblogic. I am able to login to UCM using weblogic user and other few users created sometimes back.
But all the new users which I am creating now, not able to login to UCM.
I am using embedded LDAP in the weblogic.
Please advise me to recover from this issue.

Hi Mukesh ,
Check on UCM server if the JPS provider is showing the status as Good or not .
If not then that is the reason for this . In that case stop ucm server , stop wls server , restart WLS and once it is up and running then start UCM server .
After that test to see if the issue persists .

UCM 11g & IRM 11g integration

Hi All,
Can anyone explain the mechanism to integrate UCM 11g with IRM 11g? Even if you can provide pointers to relevant documentation, it would help. We have done integration on 10gr3 version of both products but not sure if same methodology will apply on 11g version too.

UCM 11g and SDL translator Integration

My requirement is when i checkin a content in english (default language), the content should be translated to multiple languages (which will be captured from the check in screen itself) and translated content should again be checkedIn to the content server.
Im planning to write a custom service which will invoke the translation tool to translate the content.Again, after retrieving the content i will checkin the content using intradoc api.
Is lingotek software a translation tool? Is my requirement can be achieved with lingo software?
If yes, How can i invoke this from my service. Is there any java APIs are provided from lingo? Can u share me some useful link .

CCX7.0 Database Integration with Oracle 10g through ODBC

Good Day…
We are up to integrate CCX7.0 with Oracle 10g, CCX7.0 documents show the way to integrate the CCX7.0 with SQL server, but mention nothing about Oracle 10g, anyway...
I tried to check the ODBC options, there were many options, I tried to select any Oracle related choice, just to find out Oracle should supply the driver for it. In the forums, people say it’s an Oracle Client, but what will this client do? Am I going to connect though it to the oracle database server or is it going to query the database to my CCX server? What am I going to use in this case, user DSN or system DSN?
If there any tips or recommendations I will be grateful, as it is my first database integration.

I have here some questions, sorry if some of them sounds silly
1)       Is there a certain Oracle Client version? or and Oracle Client will work for me?
2)       Do you recommend system DSN on user DSN?
3)       “…. available to any device on the system” as you said in your reply, what do you mean by "device" and "system"? Sorry, but this will help to clear the picture to me
4)       What will this Oracle Client exactly do? Is it going to build an SQL table on my CCX server that query the information from the Oracle Server?
5)       My customer has already implemented database integration with IPCC3.5, how can I check the current configuration of the Oracle Client, and what things else should I check before proceeding with the integration?
The reason I want to understand this because there is a lot of database integration is requested from us, the CCX scripts can be used to query data from SQL tables, I read a lot about this –waiting for the implementation phase- the lucky me, the first integration I faces is with Oracle.
Anyway, who said learning is easy.

Start UCM 11g and IBR on WindowsServer 2008 during startup of the server

Hello,
I did install ucm 11g with an inbound refinery on a windows server 2008 64bit. The ucm and ibr are supposed to start automatically after the server is being turned on.
1. I did put the startWeblogic.cmd and the startNodeManager.cmd inside the Autostartup directory. The weblogic and the nodemanager are being started fine in a dos console.
2. I tried to start the ucm with the following command startManagedWeblogic UCM_Server1. Then it asks me for a username and password and then it throws a java exception and the UCM_Server1 is not being started.
The current status is that the weblogic and nodemanager will be started automatically and the UCM_Server1 and IBR_Server1 have to be started manually.
What is the usual way to startup the ucm automatically? Should I create Windows Services?

The best way is probably a Windows Service. Here is Oracle documentation on how to do this.

You could also try the Windows Task Scheduler. I have heard this works well (although a Windows Service would be better).

UCM 11g and Weblogic SQL Authenticator

A bit lengthy question about UCM 11g using WLS Security providers for user authentication.
There's a lot of stuff on the web about integrating UCM 11g with WLS AD/LDAP authenticators. However there's literally nothing about integrating it with SQL-based authenticators. Does it mean that using WLS's built-in providers other than AD/LDAP is not supported ?
I tried configuring my Custom DBMS Authenticator - it works fine. I can see my users/groups and membership info read from the DB in WLS Admin Console. The users can even log in to the Content Server but their WLS groups are never mapped to UCM roles/accounts. I tried reordering the WLS authenticators so that the DBMS authenticator is at the top but this does not help. Does this mean that group -> role/account mapping works only with LDAP ?

I did another exercise and defined the contributor group in both the DefaultAuthenticator and the SQL Authenticator and created two users 'default' (int the DefaultAuthenticator) and 'sql' (in the SQL authenticator). Both users are members of the 'contributor' group (in the respective Authenticator). If I log in as either of the users they all have the proper principals/credentials set in the javax.security.auth.Subject instance (the 'contributor' is a principal and a credential in both cases). However UCM maps it to a role only for the 'default' user.
Is it possible that the JPS provider somehow bypasses the javax.security.auth.Subject abstraction? Do you know of any related docs available online ?

If you know the technique how to create File Cabinets - UCM Commit Profile for 10g, it is almost the same. You may have to upgrade your ODC, though (I have noticed there is a new tab available)

Oracle 11g compatibility with oracle 10g and 9i?

Problem elaboration is as follows
We currently have an application which requires oracle 10g(10.2.0.3) client to connect to database from user desktops. As
part of new application development the oracle 11g clients need to be installed on all the user deskotps.
The complete application software along with oracle client 11g has to be roled out on these desktop as part of
implementaion of new application besides the existing application(The application software is packaged along with oracle
10g client).
We would like to understand if there is any software provided by oracle using which we can switch between different oracle
versions while accessing the respective applications simultaneously. Also are there any known bugs/issues in running
oracle 10g client and oracle 11g client together on the same user desktops with different oracle homes?

Oracle 10G/11G with JBuilder

Hi Gurus,
I am new bie in the Java development world. I am looking for purchasing a laptop on which I can install Oracle (either 10G or 11G does not matter) and JBuilder as the project on which I am going to work on uses JBuilder tool.
I have two questions
1) Is Windows 8 comptaible with Oracle 10G or 11G ?
2) Also can I install JBuilder on a Windows 8 Laptop ?

AD Integration with UCM 11g - Selecting users from multiple OU

Hi All,
I have integrated AD with UCM 11g and able to login with AD username/password to UCM application.
The one problem I face, the users of this application are scattered in different OUs in AD. Like OUs are created for different locations and users are present in that OU. I'm unable to select all the users of this application from different OU's.
Like the users are present in below OUs.
OU=Users,OU=America,DC=compnay,DC=net
OU=Users,OU=Canada,DC=compnay,DC=net
In User Base DN - What should i give? When i give any one of the above I get the users properly.
Also is it possible to select users by querying a security group in AD and getting all the members (Users) of it. Because in our application we have only three roles (mapped to the corresponding three security group in AD), and all users of this application are assigned one of that role. So, I could get all the users by querying the security group. But I do not know if that is possible.
Please advise.

Just put User Base DN: DC=compnay,DC=net
This will pull all users from both OU, along with some unwanted entries like computers on the domain. Another, possibly silly proposal, would be to create two Ldap authenticators with different User Base DN. Both should be on the top of authenticators list with Sufficient flags.
