Now, this is a bit wired - I had similar problem just a couple of days ago, but reinstalling xorg helped - not this time.
I have tried everything in my power, to solve this, but I was unable to do so.
I tested Arch for couple of days now and dedicaded to stick with it, as I really like BSD-style configs, pacman and rolling rele. model, but I had too much unvanted packages in my old Arch install, so I dedicated to re-install it, this time with SLiM and XFce 4.8.
I have black/blank screen when using intel driver on my Arch install, (HP Pavilion DM4 laptop), BUT - when I close and re-open laptop lid everything is working fine?

This is the same problem I have with an HP Pavilion g6x. Unfortunately, it has nothing to do with slim, xfce, X, etc.--it's kernel-related.
I am pretty sure that our devices are reporting incorrect lid statuses. I can't remember where I read about this originally, but the fix pertained to this patch https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/72251/ .
I'll see if I can patch my kernel sources appropriately for my laptop and recompile tonight; I'll let you know if it works.

The internet goes out and I have to reset network setting each and every time. This is only a temporary solution which by the time I release the line with Spring or leave the apple store the issue is back. Sprint indicates that it is a know issue with the Iphone 5 and apple says it is a network issue as Sprint's network is not up to par with the Iphone and can not meet the expectations on the Iphone 5.
I have attached a few picture, as you can see it clearly says I have 5 bars and 3g available but I have no connections what so ever.
This issue affects all data and so I can not send or receive picture messages, use apps, or access the internet. The data goes in and out intermittently and it seems the phone chooses what I can and can't do.
For example I can watch Youtube or Vevo videos but I can not access Facebook or Instagram.
Is anyone else having this issue?
I will soon loose my patience....

Also, I am trying to connect my Mini from the mini-Displayport to the Displayport of my Dell U2410 monitor. The image is very grainy,even though it is set to the correct resolution: 1920 X 1200 at 60Hz. If I use HDMI to VGA input, the image is much clearer. Is there a way to get the Displayport to work?

Open /Applications/Utilities/Console.
If necessary, choose View > Show Log List.
system.log is at the top of the FILES section.
Try searching it for hot words like DEBUG, FATAL, and aborted.

Hi. I have 3 different casemate hard cases and i have been experiencing same problem.

"No WiFi" problem appeared randomly, no resetting will fix.

I have not done any firmware updates to my 8GB iPod touch since 1.1.4 (with Software Update). Seemingly randomly, several days ago, my wifi option is greyed out sand says "No wifi". I've reset the network settings, reset/erased all contents and reset to factory defaults. Nothing will fix it. I've Googled this issue and haven't seen many people who've resolved it, so I assume it's a hardware issue. Additionally, I cannot restore my Software Update since installing iTunes 7.7. iTunes gives me an error message (-4).
I bought this iPod Touch around October/November of last year from Best Buy. I no longer have the receipt, but it's been less than a year. I'm going to take it to an Apple retail store to swap it out, and I hope they are understanding considering this seems to clearly be a hardware issue.
Does anyone else know any tricks short of exchanging it that might work?

The Apple service rep said it's hardware related, which makes sense since I tried everything with no success. The only option is repair or replace.

i know that asus was working on an updated BIOS to fix the GPU issue, and according to the last post in this thread on the asus support forums (http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx?id=20090627114124765&board_id=3&model=G71Gx(BestBuy)&SLanguage=e...), rev. 1201 seems to have done the trick.
i checked the asus support website (http://support.asus.com), and i found that there is an even new version of the BIOS - rev. 1302. i would recommend moving to this BIOS upon unboxing your G71GX.
i have updated the BIOS on both notebooks and desktops before, and the process is fairly painless. i found this link off the asus support site (http://support.asus.com/technicaldocuments/technicaldocuments.aspx?root=198&SLanguage=en-us), and it describes how to update the BIOS. i would recommend having a conversation with your local geek squad if you're not comfortable doing the process yourself.

you still have the option (before your warranty expires) of purchasing an AppleCare Protection Plan, which will provide an additional two years of coverage. Once your warranty expires, you will no longer have the option of purchasing AppleCare.

Still getting Display Error in PE8: "Display performance will be poor due to Incorrectly..."

I recently updated my OS from Windows Vista (32-Bit) to Windows 7 (64-Bit). When working with PE8 in Windows Vista, I would receive the following error (signified by a red X in the lower left hand corner of the screen) whenever opening an existing project or creating a new one "Display Performance will be poor due to incorrectly operating graphics card or driver!" To my consternation, I'm getting the same message after updating my OS with a CLEAN INSTALL of Window 7 64-bit. I have the latest, stable Nvidia card driver 196.21 and have installed the latest patch from Adobe 8.0.1. I'm interested to see if anyone is having this reoccurring GPU-incompatibility problem after installing the new patch.
Any solutions that don't involve simply turning off GPU playback are much appreciated.
As this is not a "workflow" problem I don't see the need in displaying an exhaustive list of all of my Computer assets. However, here are the basics.:

That could well be a reason. However, if history is any indicator, Adobe is always tight-lipped about any plans, or works in progress, until they are ready for "prime time." Recently, a lot of podcasts and blog-spot pieces began appearing on changes in PrPro CS5. Many of these are directly related to GPU acceleration with certain nVidia cards, and a totally new render engine, Mercury. Still, other than some observations from select personnel, and a few demo videos, the complete details have not come forth. Also, there has been caution that Mercury might NOT make it into CS5. Only time will tell. So silence is not new from Adobe, and there could be various reasons for it, from re-coding being an impossible task to the patch/fix not being quite ready for release. PrPro CS4 got three significant updates, plus updates to Encore and AME. It was only about one week before those releases, that a single word hit the fora.

I am running OS X Mavericks 10.9.5 on MacBook Pro Late 2013 with Retina display.
I had installed then removed an application KUsrTSK.app (Kaseya). I noticed this week in Console following process repeatedly running:
com.apple.launchd: (com.kaseya.AgentMon) Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds
I have tried to look for this command in /Library/LaunchAgents and did not find it.
Someone suggested to run following command in Terminal:
launchd remove com.kaseya.AgentMon
but no such process was found.
At a suggestion I have downloaded and run EtreCheck.app and have put the detailed results below hoping that it would be helpful for someone to suggest a course of action.

I have a MacBook (Intel Core 2 Duo) whose screen will not light up!

I have a MacBook (Intel Core 2 Duo) running on Mac OS 10.5.8. Recently, my display screen will go "nearly" pitch black. "Nearly" because I can still see the outlines of the windows and apps in the background. For a while, I was just restarting my computer or opening and closing it until the screen came back on. Then, my friend told me to use the dimming function to fix it. So far, it has worked, but only if my computer is on brightness level 0-2. Obviously this has been terrible for my eyes and is not a permanent fix.
I've been trying to find out what piece of my Mac is going to need to be replaced. I think it's a video chip, but I'm not sure.... Has anyone else had this problem and can they tell me how much it cost them to fix it? Thanks! (I'm in Japan with a U.S. bought Mac, so my problem is a bit compounded, but here's hoping!)

If that doesn't help, it could be the graphics card.

Macbook screen dying problems - display or connector?

Hey there guys, I have a serious problem with my Macbook (2007, old style) and have had it for quite a while, but it's getting worse it seems and it's stopping me from using 1 half of my screen effectively, there is a flickering line down the left hand side of the screen which is either green or purple and when I move my display it flickers and sometimes engulfs the entire left half of the screen. Now a new problem has arose as the screen turns into an odd kind of negative effect (it isn't fully negative as it is not countered out by making the screen go actually negative).

Now I have been to the Apple Store with this problem, but as my Macbook is out of warranty it would cost £330 for a new display, but I'm thinking of trying to fix it myself and as I see it it can be 1 of 3 problems:
- Display is broken (buy a new display)
- Connector is loose (reattach)
- Connector is broken (buy a new connector)
So my question is: do you reckon this is a display fault, or connector fault?

Personally I find my MBA to work perfectly for what I use it for which is mainly school related work; Word processing, data processing and internet browsing.
There are plenty of comparisons you can find between the MBA using a SSD to the MBP without one in an attempt to show which is faster but there's really no way to accurately compare them. A better processor and GPU will increase performance in some applications while in others an SSD would give a better output. It depends on whether what you're doing can take advantage of all your CPU's potential, and possibly use the GPU to help compute, as well as what it's actually doing and whether the HD comes into play often or not.
The MBP has a faster processor and a better GPU. While this translates into more graphical and computing power it does have a slower HD read/write. On the other hand the MBA has a slower GPU and CPU but the SSD does make up for some of that with extreme read/write times allowing for faster data transfer.
In the midst of all this technological babble I'll just say that you would most likely get more out of the MBP than out of the MBA. The SSD is great but it does decrease your storage amount by a good deal. However, the sheer power of the i7 makes the MBP a monster of a machine and the MBA still using a Core2Duo makes it slightly weaker overall, purely in my opinion, as I'm not looking at any spec sheets.
