Intel Turbo Boost Driver

Greetings
I have the i3-M330 chip on my laptop.  I was looking at laptops with i5-430 ( ? ) chips.  CNET stated that the later comes with Turbo boost.  But  seems the Turbo Boost driver is available for my chipset also.  Has anyone tried to install it on this chipset?   Does anyone have any preference between the i3s adn i5s?  I like my laptop alot since the video card is separate.  I am just curious how the Turbo boost driver works on i3s.  I remember the MMX technology was not very successful, and this Turbo boost seems like a similar attempt.  Any thought?

Please install the drivers as per the instructions from the following weblinks depending on the operating system installed on the system:

    Hello!
When I try to install Intel Turbo Boost Technology Driver from the HP solution&drivers page i get this error: This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software.
Can you assist me with solution how to fix this problem? Before I changed my OS from Windows 7 Professional (64-bit) - English to Windows 7 Professional (64-bit) - Slovenian I had no problems.
    Sorry for my bad English.

    dmarinov,
Short answer is you do not need the driver.  The driver is intended for laptops using the same CPU but integrated GPU only.  Since your PC has a discrete GPU (ATI), the TBT driver is not necessary.

  • INTEL Turbo Booster Device won't start on dv8t 1000 laptop

HP Analysis and device manager show this problem. Driver tests up to date.
What does this meaan and how do I correct it?

This is Turbo Boost Driver installing incorrect. The driver installation should have failed with Error 'This Computer does not meet the minimum requirement for installing this software'...
The TurboBoost Driver is required for Intel i5 and i7 Series Processors with Integrated Graphics on them...This Driver helps in 'TurboBoost' Graphic Processing Unit (GPU) Frequancy....Intel's Core i7-720QM, i7-740QM,i7-820QM and i7-840QM Processors, do not have Integrated Graphics on them...So this driver is not required... And The Processor TurboBoost feature works with Yellow Bang in device manager. Check below screenshot....So you can safely ignore the Yellow Bang for above stated processors.

  • Z87-G45 BIOS 1.2 Disables Intel Turbo Boost?

I just installed a new Z87-G45 with an i7-4770k. I installed BIOS 1.2 after getting the system running.
I wanted to test that the Intel Turbo Boost was working, so I went to download Intel's Turbo Monitor, but they helpfully let you know it isn't compatible with 4th generation I-series processors. So I downloaded the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility, hoping it would show the CPU frequency live. It shows the CPU frequency at a constant 3.50Ghz, although I don't know if that means Turbo isn't working or the utility just doesn't do realtime frequency monitoring (but then why does it graph it?) The option to enable or disable Turbo Boost is grayed out in the ETU.
I went into OC in the BIOS to find the Turbo setting and make sure it was turned on... and found out there was no Turbo setting. Intel Turbo is not located where it is described in the user guide for this mobo. So I dug around the OC menu until I found OC->CPU Specifications->CPU Technology Support; that screen shows Intel Turbo Boost: N/A
I feel like there is something very wrong here. Anyone know what's going on?

Froggy: Yes, brought it over from a Gigabyte board with an i7-860 (I do a lot of video editing and moving from the 860 to the 4770k cut down the time it takes to render an effects heavy video by more than half! Getting turbo working shaved another few minutes off of the render time. For the video I used as a benchmark, the render time is down from 60 minutes to 24 minutes ) Honestly I don't remember if the Gigabyte board had AHCI enabled or not, but since Windows won't boot with it on now I'm guessing it wasn't on before.
Bernhard: There is a very simple registry change you can make in Windows 7 to enable AHCI: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/922976?wa=wsignin1.0  I tried the Fix-It tool and manually verified the registry change, but it still isn't booting.
More specifically, the system hangs at the Windows logo. This also happens when trying to boot into safe mode. It always stops after loading the same file, which I looked up and found was an Avast file, but I tried uninstalling Avast and it just hangs after a different file. I installed the Intel chipset drivers that came with the motherboard (which appear to be the latest ones) but don't see any AHCI driver listed under device manager. There is an Intel Rapid Storage Technology download on the MSI page for this motherboard (http://www.msi.com/product/mb/Z87-G45-GAMING.html) but it is for 7-series boards and won't install on my system (I'm not sure the RST driver is even what I need, as it seems more targeted towards RAID, but it came up searching AHCI). The latest RST driver from Intel's download page won't install either ("Platform not supported").
I can't find any other AHCI drivers on the MSI CD. I'm not sure whether they would even show up in the device manager while the mobo is in IDE mode, or only in AHCI mode. If you guys happen to know anything else I should install I'd appreciate it.

  • Z77a-gd65 intel i5 2500k intel turbo boost

    I have just upgraded to z77a-gd65 for my Intel I5 2500 k
    16 gb corsair vengeance ram
    120 SSD
Be quiet dark rock cooler pro
    Seagate HDD 2tb
    Tx 750 PSU
    MSI r7950 twin f
The problem is the Intel turbo boost is acting strange it is shooting up to 8. GHz which can't be possible.
The other thing is my 12 volt is saying it down to 11.889 ish never had any of these problems with the last motherboard which was a p67a-gd65 b3
And no overclock want to just use oc genie but worried with it saying 8. GHz

I can't remember what the + or - voltage variation is for +12V, but I don't think it is anything to be concerned about. Try a couple other utilities to check the CPU speed and temp/voltages. CPUID's CPU-Z and H/W Monitor are good ones.

  • Mobo not allowing Intel Turbo Boost

    Hey,
I build my own pc like 2 month ago and I'm experiencing problems with Turbo Boost. It was enabled when I got it and after a few days it was gone. The whole option wasn't there in the bios. Later i flashed the bios cause i messed something up and it was available again! So I enabled it again and now It isn't available anymore. Do any of you guys have an idea how to fix this?

    Nope it won't.
Leave voltages etc at Auto as CPU should handle this without modifications.
However if you're running stock cooler, run an Intel Burn Test once you change the clock to see if it doesn't go too high than it does with the stock speed.
I am running my non-k i5 4670 at 3.8ghz and I had to manually change the speed, as there was nothing like Intel Turbo Boost
On 3.5 ghz i reach max 90 degrees while stressing :/
So I don't think 3.9 is reachable on stock cooler right?

  • Locking Intel Turbo Boost on an i7-2670QM?

    Hi,
My HP Envy 15-3040nr has an Intel i7-2670QM processor, which works with Turbo Boost just fine. My laptop goes to a maximum of 3.0 GHz when under full load (I render heavy gameplay videos), and underclocks just fine when in energy saver mode.
However, I want to know if it is possible to LOCK the processor's clock rate at a consistently high rate, say, something like 2.9 (or an unrealistic 3.1 GHz, the rated turbo high) GHz, assuming that heat is not an issue (yes, it obviously will be an issue, but let's just say it isn't).

    In simple word NO,
It is a dynamic overclocking rather than a static overclocking, here is more:

I have downloaded and installed the intel turbo boost monitor widget while running loads of applications at once and still turbo boost does not start or work :S,
There is no feature to enable this in the bios which I have the latest version 2.60,
    I would like help thanks.

    Hey,
As Akuma wrote, Intel turbo boost will only be activated if its really necessary and the application requires more CPU power. Otherwise the notebook will still run with lower CPU speed.
So test it with a high CPU usage application again!

like i said, that's the only app i know about.   if it doesn't work with xeon processors then i can only suggest contacting intel and requesting an update.
to me, knowing what turbo boost is doing at all times would be like installing a tachometer on a toaster.   it'll be entertaining for the first few pieces of bread but eventually you'll get tired of watching your toast pop up.

It depends on whether the CPU that you use, not all of them have Turbo Boost. Looking though the manual it does show setting for Turbo Boost. (enabled/disabled)
I use i5 4570 and it has support for sure.

turbo boost is just enabled unless disabled in the BIOS. There is no way to overclock your laptop. You can install this little app to track the turbo boost and be sure it is working:

  • H77MA-G43 Intel Turbo boost question.

    Hi,
so I've recently bought a MSI H77MA-G43 board to fit in my Intel i7 3770 (non K).
My question is that when I use some hw monitor to show which frequency my CPU is running, it is almost always running all 4 cores at 3.7Ghz. Even when I put load just on 1 core, all 4 cores rise up to 3.7Ghz. AFAIK if I run single threaded app it should turbo boost one core to 3.9Ghz right? Is it a problem or is this normal?
    Thank you

Might be, here is the answer from Martin (creator of HWiNFO) about my CPU.

So here is a monitor that will tell you when the Turbo Boost kicks in....http://www.intel.com/support/processors/sb/CS-031038.htm
On the HP consumer notebooks it will be on by default...plus we have not given any option to toggle that feature on/off..
But you have to remember few things about Turboboost...It works only under constrains of CPU Load, power Consumption of the CPU and Temperature...
