Interactive reporting in a single client
Hello,
I want to implement the interactive reporting in the same client in which the CRM is running (I know that it is recommended to use a different client).
When I come to the point where I have to create the source system, I get an error:
I go to transaction RSA1, on the left hand navigation I chose Modelling -> Source Systems
There the source system for the BI has been added automatically. When I want to create this for the folder SAP, I right click on the folder and chose create. In the appearing window I chose the RFC connection created for the BI access (2 different RFC Connections pointing to the same client), enter the password for the ALEREMOTE.
I then have to logon to the system and confirm the upcoming pop ups. In the end I get the error message: "Source System already exists" and no system has been assigned to the SAP folder.
Do you have a solution how to add the source system?
Thanks a lot in advance!
Cheers
Thorsten
Hi!
In the case that you want to have CRM and BI in the same client, you must use the Myself RFC connection that is already available in transaction RSA1. This is because of technical reasons -- the Myself connecition must be there for BI to work, and you cannot connect the same client (i.e. the same system) again, like you already noticed.
This means that you must configure the Myself connection as described in note 538052, i.e. it should be basically an empty frame containing almost no entries (system, user name, password, client, language etc. are all empty). When you use this RFC connection to actually remotely logon, it will just connect you with your current user to the current client of the same system, which is exactly what you want if your source and target system are identical.
Having said that, it is not necessary to connect the source system again with another RFC connection. Just run transaction /CRMBW/CONFIG_WIZARD in your combined CRM/BI client and follow the steps. The RFC connection from CRM to BI client as well as the other way round is the same as the Myself connection.
Best regards,

Possible to exclude interactive report column from single row display?
hi -- I have an interactive report that I've added a column to (in addition to the table columns that are selected).
The added column is a link to a form for editing a single row. This column/link is in addition to the default link
that goes to a single row view. So, a row of the report has 1) the single row view link, 2) the Edit link,
3) the columns in the table.
The edit link column is named "Edit" (so Edit appears above the "pencil" link icon). Problem is that when the
user goes to the single row view, the Edit column is displayed. (I've set the label in the view to a blank space,
and the value is null (displayed as "-" in the single row view)... but it's generally ugly, and adds that nonsensical
line to the single row view.
Is there any way to never display that column in the single row view, but always display it in the report?
I've considered putting the edit link on the first column of the table... but I don't like that the link will move
if the user changes the column order. It seems it should always be at the left of the row, like the single row view
link.
Thanks,
CarolPlease disregard this thread. I see a flaw in the design of what I was attempting to do! Creating the link for Editing as a column means the user could inadvertently not display it, or move it, or... any number of problematic scenarios.
Thanks,

Interactive report: Can I exclude a particular column from single row view?
Hi -- I posted on this yesterday (Possible to exclude interactive report column from single row display?
a bit anxious for suggestions, I guess!
I've added a column with edit-link functionality to my interactive report query (that is, the link
is not attached to the database data... it's an additional column and shows an icon). It's also
in addition to the default single row view link. (We need both.)
Unfortunately, the Edit link column shows up in the single row view. I've pared it down as much
as I can: the label is empty, and the null value shows as "-". But an extra row with "-" is pretty
ugly. Is there a way to always, completely exclude this column from the single row view?
I know I could put the edit link on a data column, but:
1) I want the link to always be to the left of the data (and the user can re-order columns)
2) when the user doesn't have edit privileges, the link will need to be disabled or just not
be displayed, and I think that would be a problem if the link were on the data. (true?)
Thanks,
CarolPlease disregard this thread, and the one it refers back to. I see a flaw in the design of what I was attempting to do! Creating the link for Editing as a column means the user could inadvertently not display it, or move it, or... any number of problematic scenarios.

CRM Interactive reporting, error while running RSA1
Hello Experts,
I had configured CRM 7 with BI 7 system for reporting. Now I am trying to implement CRM interactive reporting using a different client (as reporting client) of the same CRM system.
While my CRM - BI scenario is working perfect, I am not able to configure the CRM interactive reporting using 2 different clients of the same system, When I am trying to run tx RSA1 from CRM reporting client, I get error "Logical system name has been changed".
Can anyone help me in this?Hi Vicky,
There must be some error in your logical system assignment.
I request you to run these reports Z_OLTP_CONFIG_CHECK ( In CRM Client ) and Z_OLTP_CONFIG_CHECK_BI( Reporting Client) in order to resolve the errors. These reports will clearly point out the errors.
Have a look at Note 1263075 - CRM Interactive Reporting Configuration Check for the reports.

CRM - BI Interactive Reports in CRM
Hi,
I have some questions regarding BI Interactive Reports. Can anyone help me?
1. Can we access the BI Interactive reports in the CRM client itself through CRM_UI transaction or do we need to login into the
BI client separately?
2. If we don't maintain the users in the Central User Administration, What will be the impact?
Thanks

Interactive report Several series within same chart?
Hi
I'm about to develop a Chart-report showing several series within same chart
ex
serie1: Product A , amounts, dates
serie2: Product B , amounts, dates
etc.
It would be nice to use IntractiveReports in this case but is it possible?
Thanks for any tips & hints
Regards GASonHi Gunnar,
It's not actually possible to create a multiple-series chart using the Actions menu for an Interactive Report. Only single series charts can be generated using that option. You will need to generate a separate chart to handle your requirements, which you could obviously position on the same page as your Interactive Report. The advantage of generating a separate chart means that you can choose from a wider range of Flash chart types exposed via the Create wizards. We only support the generation of 4 chart types (Horizontal Bar, Column, Line, Pie) via the Charts Action menu on Interactive Reports, but we support 26 chart types (ranging from 2D Column to Gantt charts) via the Create wizards. You might find it useful to take a look at my sample application (http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=36648), and also the AnyChart online documentation (http://anychart.com/products/anychart/overview/) and chart gallery, for further information on charts.
I hope this helps.

Hi,
The following error is rised when i was trying to get a report.
Source system DM1CLNT100 does not exist Details
Error reading the data of InfoProvider /CRMBW/CRM_C04I Details
Error while reading data; navigation is possible
Online analytical processing: query execution aborted Details
Value "<ENTER LOGSYS>" is too long for variable /CRMBW/V_LOGSYS
Specify reference currency; default is EUR
Can any one suggest a possible solution to rectify these error.
With Regards,
Selvam THi,
Interactive reporting uses a BI client installed within the same system of CRM. Check the logical system settings and it's name along with your Basis and or BI consultant, he would be able to rectify it. Hope it helps.

Interactive Reporting Web Client on Apple Mac: Intelligence iServer?
Hi All,
I just installed EPM release 11.1.1.1 along with Interactive Reporting. We were led to believe that Macintosh was supported as long as FireFox was used as a browser. Everything seems to work fine except when I try to create a new Interactive Reporting Web Client document, I get the error message:
Viewing and analysis with Interactive Reporting Web Client is supported in Windows only.
For other platforms, use the Intelligence iServer option: ihtml servlet icon
Contact your system administrator if this option is not available.
I cannot seem to find much information on this "Intelligence iServer". Does this exist and will it let FireFox clients use Interactive Reporting Web Client? Is it an option that can be installed on the server?
Thanks for
any insight.
RandyHi,
I have some knowledge about this Intelligence iServer, which I would like to share with you.
In Version 8(HPSu 8.5), Hyperion has 5 servers, which we need to install-
Hyperion Foundation server
Hyperion SQR server
Hyperion SQR iserver
Hyperion Intelligence Server
Hyperion Intelligence iserver
Each server had its own specific work and foundation server was base of all other servers.
Hyperion Intelligence iserver supports the user to access the BQY in ihtml client. It helps user to perform some feature (like drill down-drill up) in html view.
Later Hyperion Came with System 9 and integrated the entire server into a single bundle (internally I don't know what happened).
This EPM 111.1.1 is Hyperion System 9.5 only.
I would like to advice you to log this case to Oracle support (metalink3) and ask more information about this.
It may be that, EPM 11 doesn't support Web Client in Macintosh environment
Thanks & Regards,

Interactive Report's Column Definition - Single Row View Label Bug?
Hello,
I have an Interactive report that I've added a Blue background to certain column headings (done by giving Column Heading a background color), this works fine except for the Single Row view - it displays the <....> code I used to get the background color and the column heading. I've tried to change the Single Row View Label by unchecking the 'Use Same Text for Single Row View' on the Column Definition and giving a different label, it just ignores whatever I put in and shows the Column Heading with the < .... > code. Is this a Bug or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks,
AnnaHi Anna,
I believe that it is a bug.
If the 'Use Same Text for Single Row View' checkbox is unticked and some text is entered in the 'Single Row View Label' field it gets ignored completely when viewed in the single row view and the existing value in 'Column Heading' is used.
I wanted to do something similar to you, colouring some of the Interactive Report column headers, and it works fine in the IR report itself but shows the code (span style:color etc) in the single row query. I am using Apex 3.1.1 and the Sand Theme.
I created a simple application on apex.oracle.com using the red theme and in single row view it still ignores the 'Single Row View Label' but interestingly shows the Column Heading text without the code. This indicates that there could be a work-around by altering the theme.

Single Client Access Name for Weblogic Forms and Reports.
I have a 2 node clustered system:
Windows 2008 R2 64-bit
Weblogic 10.3.3 (on each node)
Weblogic Forms and Reports 11.1.1.3 (on each node)
Database 11gR2 RAC 11.2.0.1 (on each node)
The forms and reports are clustered and I can connect to each from each of the two servers and the cluster is working well.
The database uses Single Client Access Name (SCAN) to present the database as if it were one server called dbserver1.
I was wondering if there was a similar thing for Weblogic and what everyone else uses to present their application as a single name to the user.
I tried using Windows Network Load Balancing, but this stops the database scan listeners from working.
Thanks.Dear,
Did you find an answer to your question back in 2009?
We are facing the same installation architecture, but we do not find any concrete information regarding SCAN with Oracle Forms 11g

Hyperion Interactive Reporting Web Client Installation in Linux.
Hi everybody,
Is there any official documentation of how to install Hyperion Interactive Reporting WEB Client in Linux environments ?
I checked Oracle Documentation and I found information about the HIR Desktop Client. But not about the web client.
Note: I need official documentation because of a discussion with security admins.
Any Help ?
Regards,
Gustavo. The information required to automate (silent) the Insight/Plugin Installation is as follows:
Before going for the Silent Installation of 11.1.1.3 IR Web Client, we need create a Response File and moved the response file to Installer location to automate the Install.
Please follow the below procedure to accomplish the same:
1. Record a response file use the command "setup /ieinstall -r" (or "setup /ff install -r" if you use Firefox).
2. The above command will then create a setup.iss file in the <C:\Windows> directory.
3. Then move that <C:\Windows\Setup.iss> file to the Insight folder, so to resides with the setup.exe.
4. Then to launch the silent installation, use the command "setup /ieinstall -s" and it will use the options you choose when creating the response file.
5. You can create a batch file with the command line script as mentioned in Step 4 and keep in the same folder. So that the end user can use the same to automate the install. -
Interactive reporting using web client in Hyperion Workspace
Hi all,
I was trying to create a new interactive report using following process:
1)Logon to Workspace using browser
2)File -> New -> document
3)select the option: "Create interactive reporting document"
4)Browse for .oce file
5)Click finish, once the .oce file is selected.
After these steps:
Initially I was getting message regarding checking web client status...
this was taking lots of time so I cancelled the process and restarted from step 1.
Now, after step 5, I am getting a file save option showing source of file as server of the Workspace.I am working on a local machine and accessing the workspace product through web browser.
If I save this file in local machine I don't get an option to open this file from workspace using :
File -> open -> document.
and alternatively if try to open this locally from the machine I don't have proper application on my local machine.
I am badly trapped in this viscious circle.... Kindly help.
Also, it will be gr8 if somebody could suggest some link for understanding the process of creating a new interactive report , using web client on workspace.
Thanks in advance..
Edited by: user12973893 on May 5, 2010 3:40 AMHi all,
I got to know that import and export option is available with "user->reports" and "file in report folder" respectively, when we go for Explore option.
So storing to local machine and retrieving it back is no more a problem.
But still I have hardly any idea as to how to start with interactive reporting in Workspace using web client.
If any of you come across any such tutorial on interactive reporting using web client on workspace please tell.
I come to know that Interactive reporting studio is available for interactive reporting purpose: any of you please tell me if "reporting and analysis client.." available on oracle edelivery is sufficient for interactive reporting studio or we need to install something specific for working with Interactive reporting studio. -
CRM Interactive Reports - CRM and BI Reporting client same
Hello all,
I am setting up CRM Interactive reports in CRM 7.0 wherein the CRM client and the BI Reporting client are both the same. I know it is not recommended by SAP, but our requirement is very less.
I am following the steps as mentioned in the Best Practices C41. But, when I am trying to set up a source SAP system in RSA1(Section 4.14 of C41), i get an error saying that 'Source system XXXCLNTYYY already exists'. This is the same system which has already come under the BI node in RSA1.
Since we are using the same client for both the systems, how do I rectify this error?
Please help!
Regards
DebolinaDear Srinivas,
One of the purposes of CRM Interactive reporting is quick-enablement of frequently used reports. Ofcourse these differ in all aspects with BI reports. These are faster and accurate when the data population is small.
It is not suggested to use dedicated BI server for Interactive reporting.
Anyways we can use both Interactive and BI reports simultaneously as per your client's requirement.
Hope it helps.
Thanks
