Internal number range for SP

Hi All,
Please help to find out why system does not assign continuous running number for new sold-to-party account group.Why Internal number range of sold-to-party assigned by system not in running sequence.

Go to OVT0 and select the sold to party account grp and and in that details you can see the number range field ,there you can check what number range has been assigned to the account group. Another way is go to OBD2 and check the sold to party account grp which number range has been assigned

Internal number ranges for accounting documents are not updating

Dear Experts,
We are existing user of SAP 4.6 C , are facing probelm while posting accounting document , the accounting document number ranges are not getting updated.
When I post first document it got alloted first number from the interval when i post another document the system showing message Document Number XXXXXXX is already assigned to other document.
And we have checked through T.C FBN1 and checked the number ranges where first document didn't showing in the alloted number range status.
Early reply can be highly appreciated.

hi Rajesh,
check if any document exists with that number in table BKPF. Also check: the number (current number) you see in FBN1 should be the highest existing document number in BKPF (inside the range).

Internal HU number range for 2 different plants

Hi,
I have one plant with WM-HUM and internal number range for HU is 1.
Now implementation for a second plant (same controling area but different company codes), with his own WH number, is going to use WM-HUM.
I'm wondering what internal number range should be used for plant 2:
- same number range than P1 then no need to create new packaging material types. Just check if both plants accept to share numbers
- different number range to fastly identify which plant belongs to the HU number (without using HUMO)? But need to create new packaging material types.
Are there other SAP impacts of these solutions?
I have to precise there will be stock transport orders with deliveries between both plants.

Internal Number range:Issue

Hi,
I am using the internal number range for the employee number creation.
Scenario:
Suppose I have created 13 employee in the organization so far.By mistake I created the wrong employee record(Employee number 00000013).
Now when I delete any existing employee (say "John" with the employee number as 00000013) using the Tcode PU00, I face the following issue:
I am able to delete the record (all the associated infotypes) successfully.
Now when I try to re-create the employee using tcode PA40, it always creates the employee wtih the next number (00000014) and not with 00000013.
I want the new correct employee to have the employee number as 00000013.
Can you please advise?

Click the Status Delete 0000014 Current Number make it as 000013 and hire

Either you can use the existing number by assigning your category to the available group or create your own group and assign the plan category in T code IP20
in IP20 select the group in change mode ,select your PM category and tick mark the available group and press the element/group button
or from the menu Group>Insert maintian your own and assign your category

CIN - Excise Internal Number Range

Hello,
We have four excise group.
I want to maintain internal number range for each excise group in J_1IINTNUM with difference number range series. I can able to maintain number range for each excise group but same not being captured at the time of posting. System takes default number range maintained in "01".
Kindly suggest how to captured the number range from respective excise group.

Check the table entries through NRIV table all, the number ranges are correct.

Ragrding internal number ranges fro BP

Hi,
i want to use the internal no ranges[BP] for SAP CRM and EXternal system not like internal no range for one system and another one external number ranges.
Can you anyone how to setup both system internal no ranges and wht are the things are required to map the BP number ranges?.

Hi Geetha,
What I understand is you wish to maintain only internal number ranges for the business partners created in CRM as well as coming from R/3 system like R/3.
1. First create an internal number range in Transaction BUCF.
2. Assign grouping to the number ranges.
SAP Implementation Guide -> Cross-Application Components -> SAP Business Partner -> Business Partner -> Basic Settings -> Number Ranges and Groupings -> Define Groupings and Assign Number Ranges.
Here u can mark ur number range as Internal standard grouping.
3. For the external system, eg. R/3, maintain setting in transaction PIDE of R/3 system.
But generally it is advisable to go for an external number range, when external systems are involved, so that we can retain the same number of the business partner in both the systems.
eg. CUST-111 in one system will be called CUST-111 in CRM as well, but keeping the number range internal will change the number of business partner in CRM like 3434 etc.

Defining Internal Number Ranges

Hi,
I am looking for a good solution for internal number ranges generation in MDM, I haven't find any solution for this number ranges in any of SAP MDM ref. guides and any other SAP standard documentation.
Business requirement:
1)Based on Account Group we have different internal number ranges for Business Partner.
2)Once the user select a Acct. Grp for Business Partner in MDM corresponding sequential number range should generate and assign to that BP.
3) the solution should work in both Data manager and in Portal.

I need a solution for the internal number range generation for any new BP or Material creation within MDM and there is no data model provided by standard SAP MDM on this.
- I am wondering how all other clients are implementing this kind of requirement?

You can maintain num range internal and external independently with out any customization or development if you run batch management PLANT level.
Where plant level batch mgmt., the batch number is only known in the plant in which it was created if the stock is transferred to another plant, the batch is unknown in the recipient plant and the system does not adopt any data
And you can define independent number range for each plant.
If planned at client level need to customize using the userexits avaliable.

Lsmw - Internal number range

Dear Gurus,
I have an issue with LSMW.
Initially for our client, we used to generate material codes with Exernal number ranges.
Now, the client needs internal number ranges for the material (ROH) created.
I removed the Filed MATNR (material number) from the list in "Maintain Source fields".
And in "Maintain Field Mapping and Conversion Rules", i made MATNR as initial. After running the LSMW, i am getting the material code as !000000.
please advice.

Error in J1INCHLN for internal number range

Dear Experts,
I am getting the below error when I am executing J1INCHLN. I checked J1INUMBER but of no use. Number range for 2008 is maintained. I am not able to maintain number range for 2009. Kindly guide.

Diagnosis
Number range object 'J_1ICHLNNO' is not maintained fully.
System response
There is an error in the number range object and a new internal number can not be generated.
Procedure
Check if the number range object exists in your system and also check if number ranges for the number group is maintained for the current year. Maintain the number range object and then start this transaction. The transaction code for the number range maintenance is 'J1INUMBER'.

**some time you have to update the table so go SM30 and update J_1IEWTNUM , J_1IEWTNUMGR and J_1IEWTNUMGR_1 tables

External Alphanumeric Number Range for Internal Orders

Hello,
I am trying to create external number range for Internal Order Type. I want to create internal orders which will have internal order number as alphanumeric and some will be in only numbers.
How should be the range look like, so that I have flexibility to enter Internal Order number as whatever format I want i.e. T123, 12MP, 1234, ABCD etc.

Internal and external number range for a deivce

Hi Experts..
We have a client requirement where in we need to have both external and internal number ranges defined for the device.
But while creating a device it always takes external number range and never takes internal number range.
What is the possible reason for it and how can i rectify it.
