Internal order for AUC with cost center - 'Please Select proper plant code'

Hi All,
User is getting error 'Please Select proper plant code', while inserting 'cost center' in field 'Responsible CCtr' for new Internal order which is for AUC.
In Devlopment server also when we try to create asset through internal order we get same error.
For your information this is new Plant, profit center and cost center for which we are trying to create internal order for AUC.
If we try to post without Cost centre entry is saved. But we want to add cost center.
Please help to resolve.

Hi,
If it is a custom message then please check whether any Validation or USer exit is maintained for the IO master data. If yes, then update the cost centre accordingly.

  • Internal Order for AUC Asset not getting created Automatically

As per SAP Standard , when I create an  AUC Internal Order (KO01), and save , AUC asset is gets created automatically ted via AS01 and stores the AUC Asset in Internal Order settlement rule.
However when tried with the client Im not able to create, AUC is not getting automatically created and stored in Int Order Settlement rule.
In config I have added investment profile to Ord Type  and in OAOA ( AUC Asset class setting , Investment profile is also checked)
Kindly let me have your inputs to fix the issue
    Advance Thanks
    Sanjai

    Hi,
In order to create AUC asset automatically by the system, you need to create an investment profile in OITA.
Then assign this investment profile in the Internal order master data created through KO01 in the Investments tab.
There is no option of assigning the Investment profile in the Order type.
And in OAOA that is Asset class, select the radio button investment measure.
You can default the Asset class of AUC in the investment profile or leave it blank so that same can be filled when system prompts for AUC creation.
You cant see the AUC asset in the settlement rule once Investment order is created, but only after settlement of the balances to the AUC u can see.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Internal Order FOR AUC

    Hi,
I want to make an internal order to collect cost during the construction of AUC and settle it to the final asset number. However during my first posting of AUC cost, i want the system to create the AUC asset number automatically. How can i do that?

    Hi,
you will have to Implement Investment management through Internal orders.
make the relevant order type, settlement profile & asset class relevant for investment management. Enter the investment profile in investment tab of IO which will automaticall create the CWIP asset.

  • SD order with cost center on header still creates CO-PA document in VF02

    Hi guys,
we have 2 cases in SD, where we want not postings in CO-PA (for samples to customers):
    1. on SD order item level with internal order account assignment
    2. on SD header level with a proper order reason which allows cost center assignment on headers (OVF3)
    1. is working
    2. is not working
    here the details:
    1. order with e.g. 2 items created, one has a special item category with internl order account assignment. Goods delivery is posting with MM account determination VAY (so with cost element) and goods issue is correct on internal order.
This item is not creating a CO-PA document, which is correct and wanted.
    2. special order type in SD for samples, where a order reason allows cost center assignment on header level (cost centers on SD item level is not possible obviously). Both cases use the same billing type, and same item category. In cost center case, also goods issue is posted correctly with VAY cost element to cost center of SD order, but:
creates a CO-PA document without values, but  qty, which is not wanted.
I could reset the qty with a special billing type in KE4W, but I still want to make sure somehow, that never a CO-PA document is created and I also would like to understand, why those 2 cases behave differently.
Any idea? Please no proposal with user-exit - in this case I would own billing type prefer.

    Hi
I would prefer KE4W as the solution... I had a similar situation earlier where in I used exit COPA0005 because I had no other choice... But because you are managing with separate bill type, KE4W is the option

  • Issue with Cost center in PO and Work Order

    Dear Expert,
I am facing an issue with respect to cost center in Purchase Order and Work Order. The PO is made against a work order. There are two cost center associated with the work order. One is updated under u201CAdditional datau201D field and other is at u201Clocationu201D . So the cost center in PO should essentially be the same one mentioned under u2018locationu2019 field of work order. So the issue here is that while creating PO, the cost center is picked from the u201Cadditional datau201D field of work order not from u2018locationu2019 field of WO.
Is there any exit available that needs to be implemented for overriding the cost center in PO or any other way of solving this problem?
    Thanks in advance.
    Thanks
    Deba

    Hi,
I guess that there is already some user exit or enhancement in place, since this doesn't sound like standard SAP (picking the cost data from additional data, or even having it there).

  • Down payment against the Internal Order - for Capital Expenditure

    Dear friends
I am getting an error while making down payment against the purchase order.
The order of my entries or steps are as follows:
Created one internal order for Capital WIP with budget and availability control activation.
Created one purchase order against a vendor with reference to the above Internal Order.
When I am making the down payment to the vendor through tcode:F-48, the system throwing an error
"Define Cost Elements for Down Payments".
Can any one please explain why this error is coming. When I checked in Internal orders, there is a TCode: OKEP for Define Default Cost Elements for Down Payments.
System is asking for cost element, but where as what ever the down payment we are making is nothing but advance which is current asset. Why system is asking for cost element?
Can any one give me the guidance how to handle the issue.
    Thanks in Advance
    Kiran Kumar A

The reason is when you want the down payment for AUC to be capitalised, then you would need to create cost element for Downpayments.
Normally as per design of SAP, down payment being a Balance Sheet Account (Current Asset as you rightly mentioned) doesnot need / accept an Cost object, as a special case since down payments for AUC needs to be capitalised and hence need to be carried to Controlling (Internal Order) by creating Cost Element for Downpayments.
Go ahead and create the cost element. That would resolve your issue.

  • Best praxis for determining a  cost center for an HR org unit in PPM ?

    Hello all.
We have defined the HR Org structure directly in PPM backend. Later the intention is that an interface should transfer this data from HR.
The HR orgstructure defined works fine for the staffing process (with "resource manager via responsible organization").
We have however run into some problems with the MLC & costing part.  The intention is to use manual MLC linking tasks/phases to PS WBS-elements (task based controlling).
If we leave the org unit field blank in the cProject project project definition  we run into the message "No account assignment exists for the project defintion - no costing" and the systems rolls back from the assignment made.
If we however assign an orgunit in the project defintion we instead get the message "No cost center could be determined for org unit 123...".
<u>We therefore need to be able to determine a cost center for the Org Unit assigned to be able to proceed. How is this then best done?</u>
There is a master cost center assigned to the orgunit in HR but not in PPM backend where this option does not seem to be available.
With task based controlling the cost center does not really matter so it could possibly be hardcoded via a BADI (?) but is this really the way this should be done?
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks / Anders

Hi and thanks for the reply.
We will test with an ALE replicated structure so that the object ID becomes the same in the two systems as soon as possible.
Pending that we will try the BADI option. Here I am however not sure what it is we really expect the BADI to do.  Which field should be populated with the cost center (the fields available are mainly project characteristics)?
I also eventually found some information regarding this in the PPM 4.0 help.  I enclose info regarding this below.
    a) http://help.sap.com/saphelp_ppm400/helpdata/en/index.htm
    b) choose Collaboration projects>Accounting Integration>General Information about Accounting integration>Derivation of Organizational data.
As I read this the system derives this as follows in case of task-based or role-based costing with no resource assignment:
    1) Look for the two BADIs mentioned to derive the cost center
    2) If no result there it looks for an org unit in the cProject header (where I assume having the Org Unit with the same Object ID in backend and ERP enables this option)
    3) If no result there the system looks for a "requesting cost center" in the account assignment object (WBS element or internal order)

  • Results Analysis Settle Internal Order (from CRM) - No cost element allowed

In SPRO results analysis configuration to "Define Posting Rules for Settlement to Financial Accounting" I am not allowed to use an account with a cost element.  (Error: I get error KQ 119 G/L account ### cannot be created as a cost element.)
I configure a G/L account with no cost element.  KO88 Settlement posts to G/L account fine; however, does not post to the internal order because the config mentioned on first line does not allow me to use an account with a cost element.
Problem: I am unable to see settlement in KOB1 report because settlement goes to GL Account, but does not post to the internal order.
Failed solution:  I tried to use OKC9 substitution at KO88 to substitute the internal order number.  The problem is that table AUFKV is empty when the substitution runs at KO88 settlement.  I am not able to substitute the order number because the order number isn't even available in the substitution at internal order settlement.
I put a break manual break point in program GBTACCOB at the call to the substitution rule I defined.  The breakpoint stops at the substitution when I run KO88 settlement; however, fields are blank. I am unable to do substitution.  I know this works because I have a similar substitution on the same internal order for accounting indicator when doing an MB1A goods issue to an internal order.  The break point stops there and the AUFKV data is available for substitution rule.
    Question:
Any suggested solutions to to have internal order update into KO88 settlement after KKA1 results analysis would be helpfull.

It is more of a reporting issue really.
The problem is that internal order settlement with settlement profile instead of results analysis does post the settlement to the internal order and does use a cost element.  This is the business process the users currently have.  Our users have a requirement to settle the orders weekly.  This helps them find issues earlier and speeds up the month end close.
In the past we could use KOB1 and see the current balance of an internal order and see the settlement.  Now that report no longer shows the settlement.  How can I see what has been settled on an order and what hasn't now?

  • Exchange Rate Difference in PO with cost center assignment

    Hi All,
In case of exchange rate difference in a PO with a cost center assignment the system Do not post the difference in the exchange rate difference account (maintained under transaction type - KDM - in T-code OBYC). However if the PO is a normal material PO it posts the exchange rate difference to the exchange rate difference account.
I want the exchange rate difference to be posted to the exchange rate difference accout for PO's with cost center assigned as well.
I have searched for SAP notes and found that note # 980402 & 1102481 provides a solution for this issue - but it seems both the notes are valid for 4.6 and 6 release only. We are on ECC 5.0
I have also checked note # 1136145 for this and implemented in the system successfully without any luck.
Can some one please help me with a solution for this issue.
    Thanks and regards,
    Ankur

Even I have implemented this note in our 4.6C system for account assigned POs, but no luck. Please let me know if are successful.
    Thanks

  • Error when changing a Company Code for a given Cost Center

    Hello Friends ,
I'm trying to modify a company code value for a given cost center in KS02 and I get the below error. The error message receommends to change the analysis period ( not sure what it is..) but when I click edit > Analysis period from tool bar I  still get the below message , is there way to get over come this issue ?
    Thanks in advance ,
Field change Company Code is not possible (transaction data already exists)
    Message no. KS134
    Diagnosis
To ensure the consistency of existing data, you can only change object Company Code if no transaction data exists in the change period; that is, neither plan data nor actual data has been posted.
As transaction data already exists, it is not possible to change objects in this time period.
    Procedure
If you still want to change the object, select a suitable change interval by choosing "Edit -> Analysis period...".

Thank you Vishal . I have 3 cost centers with 2 having validity period ( from 01/01/1950 to 12/31/9999) and third one had 2 records 12/30/2004 to 12/26/2009 and 12/27/2009 to 12/31/9999 ) for the third one it did allow to change the validty period and I could change the comapny code for my profit center . But for first 2 somehow it doesnt allow to change the validity periods. And when I run some reports against these 2 cost centers to see if there is any activity I dont see any data .
Could you please give your ideas ?
    Thanks alot .

  • Internal order for DC

    Hi,
We want to create an internal order for a project we are going to start in one of the Distribution centers. Since the DC is not associated with a plant, can we create an internal order exclusively for the DC? I created a new order type and in the field selection I hide Plant and set the location field required. However, when I was creating a new Internal order it says location/plant. If internal order can be created only for plant then how can we track the activities of the work done in a DC? Please share your ideas.
    Thanks

    Hi
The Location field used by you seems to be related to a Location in a Plant and hence the dependency of the Plant.
You can hide this Location field and  use some other Text field for Keying in values pertaining to Location ( As per your requirement).

  • Internal Orders - Alliance Partners tracking costs

    Hi
The questions relate to tracking costs whcih are significant in detail for an Alliance Partner. We are in the latter stages of implemenatation of SAP All in One -
    1. In the legacy system intelligence is built into the GL account code allowing us one character in the GL code to be allocated to the Alliance Partners costs, a different letter for the different Alliance Partners. We could therefore analyse a Depts cost separating the total cost, then the Alliance Costs, then provididing the non Alliance costs, we could do this for a Dept / Cost Centre and also analyse per the GL account say "hire costs" within the Cost Centre all via Pivot Tables etc
We accrue the costs due to timing of costs being received ie in middle of month end process because of significance wait for Alliance Partners estimate and post to a clearing GL account via General Journal. We do not do a detailed PO with all the expense lines as PO would be huge  and the expense lines are not fully known when PO is created. When the actual PO is received, the costs are offset against the clearing account, if accrual and PO receipt and invoice agree then clearing account is nil. The accrual is not reversed.
The suggestion per SAP consultants is to create an Internal Order for each Cost Centre for the different Alliance Partners we expect Costs. I had thought this was a reasonable solution but the issues I see are
    A. It provides total costs for the Cost Centre, total Costs for the Alliance Partner for each Cost Centre but does not provide total non Alliance Costs without dumping the data into pivot tables and analysing.
    B. It does not provide analysis of the Alliance Partner costs v non Alliance Partner costs by GL
I know if we used the full functionality of MM ie raise a PO etc with detail GL lines would allow reporting via MM but due to timing of receipt of costs and the number of GL accounts it is currently not parctical / political to receipt a detailed PO.
    Kind Regards
    John

How do I obtain a report which shows Actual + Plan
    1. Total Cost Centre Cost with GL etc.
    2. The relevant Internal Order Costs for the Alliance Partner with GL etc.
    3. Non Alliance Partner costs
Is this a report I can obtain directly from SAP or will I have to download the two separate reports from SAP to analyse the Alliance Partner costs v Non Alliance Partner costs by Cost Centre and GL.
Sorry for being such a dummy but we have yet to be shown all the reports, we are designing a system without the benefit of the relevant training on SAP !!!
