International changes from British to US after system sleep

Hi,
The International menu flag chages from British to US after my system has been asleep. Any ideas as to how I may be able to stop this from happening?

Welcome to Discussions Andyli-
Have you looked at System Prefs>International>Formats and made sure that you have the UK selected as your region? Also, make sure under Input Menu you have British checked, and not US.
You may need to restart to make sure the settings hold,
please post back and let us know how you made out,

When finalizing it changes from 1080p to 720p after approx 1 hour. I have tried it twice. Does anyone else have this problem or know why.
Using IMovie 9 (11) all clips are 1080.

As AppleMan says, Finalize renders your movie in every available size.
If you only want one particular size then instead use Share > Export Movie.. and choose your size there.

Why does the light on my battery charger change from green to orange after a few seconds?

Why does the light on my battery charger cable change from green to orange? The battery continues to accept a charge when light turns orange.

Green = not charging.
Orange = charging.
Note that if your laptop is pulling enough power (using CPU and GPU heavily) the light will turn green because the power adapter cannot provide enough power to charge your batteries in addition to keeping the system going.
In fact, you can drain your batteries even with the adapter plugged in with the 17 inch Macbook Pro if you push it hard enough, although I have not noticed this problem with my Retina Macbook Pro.

OSMF self start playback after system sleep

Hi,
We've found an issue with OSMF player: in case you load a page with video, then send system to sleep - after system wakeup playback starts itself. This is valid if you are using f4m file or rtmp stream. Those issues are visible on OSMF demos: here http://www.osmf.org/dev/1.6gm/StrobeMediaPlayback.html there are no issues, but here http://www.osmf.org/dev/1.6gm/debug.html video starts itself after system wakeup. Changing source to flv allows to get rid of the issue.
Also, if you load page, than start it and pause it - the issue will not reproduce as well.
Control bar behaves also very strange: playback time and scrollbar are updated according to actual playback, but play button (not pause) is presented. on case i push play - video restarts.
Systems: MacOS (10.7.5, build 11G63), Firefox 20, Chrome 26, Flash (11.7.700.169); Windows 7: Firefox 17, Flash (11.6.602.180); our cluents also mentioned they have same issues on Win8 under Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome.

Partition changed from 2 to 1 after downgrade to XP

Hi, I have a question about the changing of the partition after switching to XP. I got my T61 today (finally!) which is very exciting. I got it with Vista Business just because I want to be able to downgrade it to XP to use many softwares that are not supported by Vista. After I finished downgrading to XP, I realized that the system has automatically changed the original 2 partitions (C and D drive) to only 1 (C drive). I really hope to change it back to two partitions for computer safety purpose. I know there probably isn't a way to do it unless I re-format the entire harddrive and start from beginning. My concern is since I don't really have the real XP disc, but the recovery disc from Lenovo, is it safe to format the hard drive? Is there a safe way to reboot from the recovery disc while in the process I can re-partition the harddrive, so I won't damage the "hidden partition" and the recovery function? I haven't upload anything else on the computer yet so I have no file or program to lose.
Also, my hard drive (100G) kind of "shrank" to 86G after the downgrade. Some other posts have talked about the hidden disc and the different calculation method of the hard drive. I guess this is why the hard drive shrank?

I would go get something like partedmagic and use it to resize the C:\ partition and create a new D:\ partition. It is similar in use to Partition Magic but free.
By any chance did you make a set of recovery discs for Vista in case you want to go back someday?

UME change from ABAP to other ABAP system

I want to change UME to ABAP system QAS. 
 
So, I go to NWA -> Administration -> Identity Management . 
 
Under the ABAP system tab, I change necessary info such as servername, user SAPJSF, password and client to my QAS system. I then click on TEST connection which works well. I am asked to restart cluster to activate changes.

Ok, so something is wrong in my entries even if test connection works fine. 
 
Becasue JAVA stack does not start anymore, I need to go to configtool. Everything that I changed is active, I can see everything. Still, I do not know which parameters is causing all this.

I found the problem.
in configtool, in parameter ume.login.guest_user.uniqueids, value was set to J2EE_GST_QAJ.
user J2EE_GST_QAJ did not exist in ABAP system QAS. I created it as a service user and gave it role SAP_J2EE_GUEST.
I also increased values for ume.r3.connection..master.poolmaxsize and ume.r3.connection..master.poolmaxwait
after Java stack restart, system works fine again.

Can we change from ARCH to LGWR after Dataguard is life ?

After the dataguard is setup and running, can we change the log transmission method from ARCH to LGWR, without reinstalling the whole thing ?

Hi,
Ya it can be done. But in which mode are u running.
For max protection it should be LGWR SYNC AFFRIM should be there.
If you're going to be in Max Availability or Max Perfromance you can change it at any time. Just change in parameter file and restart the database or just execute "ALTER SYSTEM" command to change it.

Large_pool value changed from 0 to 8388608 after Oracle Patch 10g Release 2

10g Release 2 (10.2.0.4) Patch Set 3 for HP-UX Itanium
Recently we upgrade Oracle software with patch set 6810189.
and upgraded database using dbua.
earlier we set large_pool to 0 and after database upgrade, this large_pool changed to 8388608 bytes. Is this normal with DBUA?
also dbua keeps backup of spfile in same location

This is a way I used to do it too. I am not sure whether it is the official way, but it works nevertheless.
Do make sure you run autoconfig afterwards, which will create a new environment file for you. Then stop listener and database, source the new environment file and restart listener and database.
I found some other procedure in order for you to recreate the environment file:
1. On the application tier, Execute $AD_TOP/bin/admkappsutil.pl to generate appsutil.zip for the database tier.
2. Copy this appsutil.zip to the database tier and unzip it into the ORACLE_HOME
3. Set the following environment variables:
ORACLE_HOME =<10g ORACLE_HOME>
LD_LIBRARY_PATH = <10g ORACLE_HOME/lib, 10g ORACLE_HOME/ctx/lib>
ORACLE_SID = instance name running on this database node.
PATH= $PATH:$ORACLE_HOME/bin;
TNS_ADMIN = $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin/<context_name> 4. Edit the $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin/tnsnames.ora file. Change the aliases for SID=<new RAC instance name>
5. Modify the listener.ora. Change the instance name and Oracle Home to match environment
6. Start the listener.
7. From the 10g ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/bin directory, create an instance-specific XML context file by executing the command:
adbldxml.pl tier=db appsuser=<APPSuser> appspasswd=<APPSpwd>8. De-register the current configuration using the command:
perl $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/bin/adgentns.pl appspass=apps contextfile=$CONTEXT_FILE -removeserver9. Rename $ORACLE_HOME/dbs/init<rac instance>.ora , to a new name (i.e. init<rac instance>.ora.old in order to allow AutoConfig to regenerate the file using the RAC specific parameters.
10. From the 10g ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/bin directory, execute AutoConfig on the database tier by running the adconfig.pl script.
Now you should have the officially created environment file.

Transferring data from my time machine after system software update, but my computer seems to be stuck on "create your account"

Have just been uploading snow leopard as the pre step to getting lion and have been transferring data from my time machine, but my computer seems to be stuck on "create your account"

I found a solution!
Perhaps this is just temporary, but I have my display up and working again.
Although the symptoms are different were a bit different, the solution here worked:

As I was able to connect to my HD via an external monitor, in the finder, I went to:
1. Macintosh HD --> System --> Library --> Extensions
2. From there I moved all of the files that started with ADM and ATI (19 in total for me) to a folder on my desktop. (You will need to enter your admin password for this)
3. Next was a restart.
4. Then my display started working again.
5. After that, I transferred the files back into my Extensions folder.
6. I then did another restart with my fingers crossed and breath held. It worked.
Also... During the last few days of trying to find a fix, I restored a Mavericks backup to my computer away from Yosemite.
I'm very sure this problem occurred when I put my MBP to sleep, disconnected the power in its sleep, while something was connected to a USB port and unplugging the USB device (for me an iPhone charger) while the MBP was closed.
I hope this helps the next person.

Why do I get "The system has recovered from a serious error" after system shut down

Every time when start/restarting the computer using the attached .vi I get a window with "The system has recovered from a serious error." Although this does not seems to have any effect on application and I am able to use the test equipment but could someone explain why this is happening?

Why not just connect errorcode directly with BundleByName? You don't need the Select function here...

HTML Report Viewer width changes from percent to pixel after postback

Because of the page layout that the report needs to fit into I need to have the ReportViewer width set to 100% (that is 100% of a table cell, embedded within a complex web page). When you first view the page it looks fine, the ReportViewer is correctly set to 100% and fill the space it should. When you then hit the next page button it causes the page to refresh but this time the ReportViewer width is not set correctly. Looking at the code I can see that the relevant line in the HTML is: <div id="cridcontainerCrystalReportsViewer" style="width: 100%; height: 712px; position:relative">and is correct when you first load the page. However after the Postback it is changed to: <div id="cridcontainerCrystalReportsViewer" style="width: 100px; height: 408px; position:relative">and hence the page does not display as it should.Even if I force that value to be set in code every time the page is shown it still does not work if it is set to a percentage. If I force it to be set to 500 pixels it works as expected and the viewer is set to 500 pixels wide both before and after the postback. <div id="cridcontainerCrystalReportsViewer" style="width: 500px; height: 408px; position:relative"> However that is not what I need to make the page look as it should. Anyone got any ideas? Is this a bug in the Viewer?Cheers Mike

You talking here only about textboxes, what about the other controls in your form(dropdownlists, checboxes....)? How you will be validating the data on these forms? What if you want to implement server side functionality behind?. I'm asking these question
just to see if you planned well for your idea. I guess you're going into this because you want to runaway of generating many forms via asp.net, is this correct?.
Another options can be:
Create forms that are generated on runtime based on your datasource, I've done this before but there was a specific DB design for that. Here you can read your DB and based on you can create the different types of asp.net controls, in addition to calling
sever side controls and validation.
The second option is to have a look at the InfoPath product, its mainly used for Sharepoint but not sure for asp.net.

Change Object Server in SLD after system copy and SLD move?

Hello,
we did the following:
- we migrated the SLD to the production system in our landscape
- we copied the NWDI to a new system
- the old object server was named sapsrv88 (object server attribute in the SLD) which was the hostname of the old SLD server
Do I have to change the object server attribute to the new hostname of the SLD? Does this have any influence on the software components that we allready developed?

Hello Jens,
you can rename the object server - details you'll find in SAP note 935245
When you rename it, the ID of the objects in the SLD is changed to the new ID, so normally you shouldn't have any problems with that.
If you're unsure about it, you can backup your SLD content using "Administration => Content => Backup => All Instances" - that backs up everything under /sld/active
or backup the software components you devoped using http://<hostname>:5<instance-no.>00/SCD/SCDownload

Sound Output changes from headphones to HDMI after waking from sleep

My late 2013 Retina MBP has had this issue since I purchased it last year, but I'm hoping there's a solution.
When I'm working at my desk, I have an external monitor connected via HDMI (and a 2nd via Thunderbolt). The Monitor connected via HDMI has (crappy) speakers. Even though I have headphones plugged in, when I wake the machine from sleep, the audio device will revert to HDMI.
Any ideas how to prevent this?

For some installing the > OS X Mountain Lion Update v10.8.5 (Combo) over the top of the current 10.8.5 version solved the problem.

Weather icon changed from 23 to 73 after restore

Is this a way of apple knowing which customers have restored thier phones if they send them back?
Or what's the point?

Mine has always said 73. Sounds like maybe your weather icon was just showing Celsius before and is now showing Fahrenheit.

Live Cam Voice requires restart after system sleep under Vista

I have attached my Live Cam Voice to my brandnew Vaio Notebook which runs Windows Vista Home Premium and installed the latest drivers from the Creative website. The cam works fine, until I put the laptop to sleep mode and waking it up again. After waking the PC up, the cam is not recognized anymore and I need to restart the computer.
Anybody experienced similar problems and (hopefully) has a solution? Thx.

Did you ever solve this problem? I have a similar problem on my desk top running Vista Home. I couldn't get the Vista driver (download from this wesite) to load so resorted to trying the XP dri've. This seemed to work until Vista put the machine into "Sleep" mode. After coming out of Sleep mode I eith have to restart the computer or disconnect and reconnect the webcam.
