Internet Explorer 9 crashes with webutil

Hi, i installed webutil kit on windows vista 32 bits business editions. The installation was successful. Jacob sign was ok too.
I have forms 10g 10.1.2.3.0
Installed pacth 7384879 and was ok
Forms and Reports 10g work nice on internet explorer 9 and until now have a problem with webutil
Regards

Forms 10 is not supported for use with IE9. That said, generally when a browser crashes while running a plug-in (Java plugin in this case), the issue is a problem with the plugin and not the application running within it. Also, to use WebUtil with Forms in Vista or newer, the user will need to have Administrator permissions (Windows). If not, an error or crash will occur. This is because WebUtil will attempt to write into the Program Files directory which is not permitted unless you are an Admin. This restriction can be overcome if you install a newer version of the Forms Bundle patch then change the configuration so that writing to the restricted directory no longer occurs (redirect writing to a permitted directory).
Refer to Patch ID 9593176 (requires Jacob 1.10.1) and the follow MyOracleSupport note:

  • Internet Explorer 9 crashes with the Flash player 10.2

Compatibility of Flash player 10.2 with Nvidia optimus graphic card used in Sandy Bridge processors:
There are multiple things that we need to consider. I have a similar problem with the IE 9. As soon as I downloaded the new Adobe flash player 10.2 the problem started.
The problem lies in the interaction of Adobe flash. 10.2 hardware acceleration with the new Nvidia optimus graphics. The new Nvidia graphic cards are used with new Sandy Bridge processor form intel.
As soon as you update the flash player 10.2 the IE 9 crashes it is not a 64 or 32 bit problem rather the problem lies in interaction between Adobe flash player 10.2 and Nvidia graphic card.
If you want to check that it makes sense. Put a checkmark in options in IE 9 to deactivate the hardware acceleration. IE 9 will play all flash videos without a hitch. Unfortunately you cannot play them full-screen.
The way to completely fix this problem, download the older edition of flash player that's 10.1 which is compatible with Nvidia graphics. Problem solved.
I'm posting this solution to Adobe forums to make sure that they can fix the problem in 10.3 version of flash player.

    Hi,
The process of clearing IE 9 Crashing issues is very simple.
Run IE 9 without any plug-in, add-ons or other extension.
That is, if the software is yet to be installed.
If it has already been installed then disable the add-ons.
It is important to check what are the add ons that cause the crashing if that is the case; this can be done by clicking on ‘Start’, then on ‘All programs’, then on ‘Accessories’, then on ‘System tools’.
Click on Internet explorer again and again click on the ‘Tools’ option.
Follow this by clicking on ‘Manage add-ons’.
There will be an option under show: all add ons.
Open the option and click on any add on and press the ‘CTRL + A’ on the keyboard.
That should help select all the add ons; once that is done simply disable all the add ons and click ‘Close’.
Finally close Internet Explorer and open it again.
At this stage if it continues to open and work correctly then the add-on enabled manually will work properly and will stay! The constant problems of the browser crashing can be avoided.

  • Internet Explorer 11 Crash with FlashPLayer 14

    Hello everyone,
This is my first post because I need your help with my next issue:
I'm working with Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 and with Internet Explorer 9 with all necessary updates. But when try to open Youtube, send me a message about not have installed Flash Player. So I go to the official page for Flash Player and donwloaded

lots of known issues with InfoPath browser forms and newer versions of IE... example: http://www.sbrickey.com/Tech/Blog/Post/InfoPath_forms_and_Internet_Explorer_11_Critical_Error
the reason is because Microsoft (in their infinite wisdom) tells the browser to "use the latest and greatest rendering and JS engine", based on the assumption that the browser improvements will be better... but as it turns out, newer versions of IE don't
    handle backwards compatibility very well.
There is a fix, to adjust the masterpage within SP, to tell browsers (IE in particular) to use IE8 compatibility mode. Chances are, this is what you want.

  • Internet Explorer is crashing when opening application

Internet Explorer is crashing when opening application.
    Internet Explorer 7.0.5730.11
    Oracle JInitiator 1.3.1.22

I was having similar issues turned out to be a problem with the Jinitiator proxy setting. If you go into Win->control panel->Jinitiator Then Proxies and UNCHECKE the 'Use browser settings' option it may fix the problem.
    My Setup: Winxp SP3, IE7.0.5730.11CO, Jinitiator 1.3.1.26
I was able to open Apps using Firefox3 fine, but IE was crashing everytime Jinitiator started. Turns out it's because of how the proxies in IE versus FF were setup, so it could open via the FF browser Proxy setting but not via the IE7 proxy settings. Telling Jinitiator to NOT use the browser setting enabled me to use both IE7 and FF3
Note: My company uses a automated proxy configuration script (proxy.pac) so if you have a similar setup to this it may help.

  • Internet Explorer Lock-up with Sun Java 1.4.2_03

I apologize immediately if this is a repeat question.
I have a few users all using Windows 2000 Professional. When they were using a 1.3 version of Sun Java with Internet Explorer (5.5+), everything worked fine. But as soon as I required them to download and upgrade to the latest Sun Java 1.4.2_03, the Internet Explorer locks up instantly when an applet is loading. Although I have not checked the Console for specific information, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Are found anything about internet explorer not responding with JAVA 1.4.2? I have the same problem then you and I found nothing on the web.
    Thank you

  • Explorer keeps crashing with ntdll.dll, verifier.dll, msvcrt.dll and combase.dll errors

    Hi all,
I just bought my laptop a few weeks ago. Initially explorer only crashed (with the ntdll.dll error) when I had a lot of folders open, or when I was transferring stuff. But now I cannot open any folders at all without it crashing with the verifier.dll error.
This doesn't happen in safe mode.

  • Internet Explorer 10 compatibility with Moss 2007.

Hello , We are facing issue with MOSS 2007 and Internet Explorer 10.There are few out of box fields are not working at all with IE 10.
Lookup field – with more that 20 items in it.
    Date and Time
These fields do not work at all.
I know there is workaround of switching to compatibility mode, however looking for some permanent solution
Based on the following article I installed hotfixes of .net framework which didn’t help. Though I noticed same issues I had with IE 11 are resolve .
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/88505e15-d453-4336-995d-12c010c5ad49/internet-explorer-10-compatibility-with-sharepoint-2010-sp-2007-interface
    Thanks in advance.

SharePoint 2007 is fully supported with the following browsers, from Plan browser support (Office SharePoint Server):
Level 1 Web browsers for Office SharePoint Server 2007 with SP2 are as follows:
    Windows Internet Explorer 6.x (32-bit)
    Windows Internet Explorer 7.x (32-bit)
Windows Internet Explorer 8.x (32-bit) (includes running in compatibility mode)
Windows Internet Explorer 9.x (32-bit) (includes running in compatibility mode)
Level 1 Web browsers for Office SharePoint Server 2007 original release and Service Pack 1 (SP1) are as follows:
    Internet Explorer 6.x (32-bit)
    Internet Explorer 7.x (32-bit)
As well, IE 7, 8 , and 9 64-bit, Firefox 3.x and Safari 3.x are supported with limitations. If you don't have SP2 or newer installed you could throw on your nostalgia hat and also use Firefox 1.5, Mozilla 1.7, Netscape Navigator (!) 7.2 and 8.1, or Safari
    2.0 again with limited functionality.
I'm afraid IE 10 isn't on the list so you will need a work around. It sounds like compatibility mode works for you, how about setting up a
Group Policy Object that sets the compatibility settings for your SharePoint URLs in all your users's browsers?

While attempting to lonin to Skype I get an error report since my Skype used to link with the Internet explorer.
How can I chamge that to link withFirefox?

I would first try unplugging All the USB devices plugged into your computer, and then plug back in just the iPhone and see if that is recognized.  Also, do you have the latest version of iTunes for Windows installed on your PC, as you need to?
    Hope this helps

To troubleshoot this problem, follow these steps:
Click to go online and run the Flash Player uninstaller

Click to go online and install the Flash Player update
Additional information for 64-bit browser users

    Hi Guys,
We are experiencing the same issue and currently have a call logged with SAP that has now been raised to HIGH.  This is causing real issues to our business users, who are now refusing to let us recreate their local profiles as a workaround.  This is the only temporary fix we have.
We are on Windows XP using IE 8.  When the user browses to SRM -> Employee Self-Service tab, the session completely hangs.  The same issue also happen in Confirmations.
    System Status for SRM Production:
    SAP_ABA          701                  0008
    SAP_BASIS          701                  0008
    PI_BASIS          701                 0008
    ST-PI          2008_1_700         0003
    SAP_BS_FND    701                       0009

    SAP_AP          700                 0022
    SRM_PLUS          700                 0010
We have also cleared an individual's browser cache which did not resolve the problem.  We patched SRM in September and to my knowledge we did not have this issue before.
The problem is returning to some users after we have already recreated their windows profile.
Any help/suggestions on how this can be resolved or indeed how it has been resolved previously would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.  We are in the process of raising our support call to URGENT and are getting desperate!

  • Internet explorer 11 crashes

I am having problems with Internet Explorer 11 constantly crashing. I just purchased this computer in November 2013 it's an HP product# H5P37AA3ABA. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it, but does not help.
    This question was solved.

    Hello again Silverbell,
Thank you for the update on the status of your issue. What I would like you to do next is to download and install a different browser. There are several available on the net for you to download such as Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome. If these run and do not crash I would recommend Download Internet Explorer 11 and re-install it.
Please re-post if you require additional support. Thank you for posting again on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • Flash and Silverlight don't work at all in Beta 34.0, when Internet Explorer properly works with these; happened immediately with update to Beta 34.0.

    Hello!
Immediately upon updating to Beta 34.0, Silverlight and Flash, completely stopped working in Firefox. I am running Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 2.
They work fine in Internet Explorer.
This happens in any website I go to.
For example, I can go to Youtube, and the page will show a black box where the video should be, but there are no play controls, or any way to enable the video. Clicking within the black box does nothing.
On the music play site, Grooveshark, the site does not recognize Flash as being installed at all. (If you don't have Flash installed, this site pops up a message every time. Grooveshark correctly recognizes that Internet Explorer has Flash installed.)
I updated the Flash plugin to the current version, which also did nothing.
I have not reinstalled Firefox, or done a System Restore, yet.
I just bought a new computer that I was going to migrate to, and retire this computer, so I was not going to do heroic efforts to fix this. I was reporting this more on the order of a bug report.
    Thanks.
    Karl

This happened to me as well with Windows 7 32 bit (which I did as as upgrade from Vista Home Premium - if that might foul things up a bit) and affects Firefox 34.1 and IE. I did a system restore which took me back to Firefox 33 and Flash was fine. Later in the day Firefox updated back to 34.1 and I lost Flash again.

  • Why does my Web Handler work with Internet Explorer, but not with Firefox

I am trying to develop a web page that uses the Simile Timeline (http://code.google.com/p/simile-widgets/wiki/Timeline) with data from SQL Server.
In initial testing of my timeline I tested it with Example.xml, a static XML file in the correct format to be event data. I wrote the following in the appropriate place within mytimeline's Javascript: -
    var WebHandler = "Example.xml"
    tl.loadXML(WebHandler, function (xml, url) { eventSourceFamily.loadXML(xml, url) });
This worked fine with both Firefox and Internet Explorer. I then changed the assignment to
    var WebHandler = "GDBTimeline.ashx?Type=Family&Userid=" + getControlValue("input", "hdnUser");
so that invoked a web handler that could look up the SQL database and return the XML that I wanted, and wrote this web handler.
This works perfectly with Internet Explorer, but with FireFox the timeline band is blank. Yet when I examine the http traffic with Fiddler2 (http://www.fiddler2.com/fiddler2/) I see that with either browser there is a response from URL
    /GDB_pages/GDBTimeline.ashx?Type=Family&Userid=robertb
that returns the XML that it is supposed to.
I have previously used web handlers with Firefox before, with no problems. The Fiddler results conclusively show that the web handler is invoked, and returns the appropriate XML, and this XML is identical to the XML from the static test with Example.xml.
Where do I start looking for answers? I don't even know if this is a Simile problem, a Firefox problem, or an ASP.NET problem.
    Thank you, Robert.

Problem solved. The issue: Content Type was not correct.
Visual Studio creates the web handler with dummy code like this: -
Public Sub ProcessRequest(ByVal context As HttpContext) Implements IHttpHandler.ProcessRequest
    context.Response.ContentType = "text/plain"
    context.Response.Write("Hello World")
    End Sub
I wrote a database query that set a string variable to the XML I wanted: -
Public Sub ProcessRequest(ByVal context As HttpContext) Implements IHttpHandler.ProcessRequest
    Dim Outstring as string
' my logic to fill Outstring with XML
    context.Response.ContentType = "text/plain"
    context.Response.Write(Outstring)
    End Sub
This works with Internet Explorer. However it's not strictly correct: to make it work with other browsers as well,
    context.Response.ContentType = "text/plain"
    should be
    context.Response.ContentType = "text/xml"
It now works with IE, FF, and Chrome, and presumably all others.
