Internet is getting disconnected...

The connection with the internet have been weird in my MacBook Air. It keeps disconnecting itself from the internet. I know it's not my router or home internet because all my other devices like mobiles and other laptops have a consistent connection. The WiFi icon has a full bar. When i Switch off and on the WiFi it connect back to the internet, and get disconnected in few seconds later.  Out of desperation, I figured I do a clean install of OS! The problem is still there, the Macbook is updated to Version 10.9.4. Can someone help please? Is it my network settings? Is anyone else having this problem?

Have you tried the wireless diagnostics which are built in??
About Wireless Diagnostics
You could also do a hardware diagnostic to see if the wireless card is ok.
OS X Mavericks: Use Apple Diagnostics or Apple Hardware Test
After that I guess I would try using static IP and gateway with a general google DNS for instance.
It does sound like the air alone is having issues which points the finger at something in the air is not right.

  • 13" MBP internet connection gets disconnected when too many wifi connection's available

I just notice this a couple of nights ago... Im using a 13" MBP I bought last June 9.  At night, when there are plenty of wifi connections being broadcast in our condominium bldg, my internet connection is very slow.  Also, the signal strength is reduced to half.  Sometimes I even get disconnected and the MBP wifi has difficulty reconnecting my wifi.  But when morning comes, signal strength is at full.  I ask my friend who also connects to the same wifi if ever he has difficulty connecting at night, but unfortunately its just me.  He is using windows, by the way.  I'm wondering if this is a known issue and have a fix already? or it's just me?
    Please help... Thanks.

I use my 15" MBP this way with no problems at all and I have Mountain Lion installed.  So we need to look elsewhere for the problem, it's not possible to link this to the OS without further investigation (but it could be a system setting).
I  know that other folks are complaining that Mountain Lion broke WIFI.  But if that were the case we would all have problems.  I, along with many others, have no problems at all.  I think there is something else going on.
What is the signal strength with the lid open vs. closed?
When you say that Safari does not work, are you getting a timeout message or a message like "You are not connected to the Internet."?  Of course this is the English version of the message, yours will be different.

  • Internet Keep Getting Disconnected

I have a Linksys Router(WRT300N) and my macbook is connected to the router wirelessly, I have bootcamp installed on my Macbook, when while using Windows XP to surf the net, i find that i kept getting (page could not be found) on the internet explorer and even my MSN is trying to reconnect after a few mins.
And every time this happens, i got to reconnect t my router and this happens quite usually. The wireless connection states that it's running at 300mbps.
Can somebody help me with this, thanks.

I actually got this solved. Now i don't get intermittent connection on my Windows anymore.
    What i did:
I downloaded atheros 6.0.3.85 driver for my Atheros AR5008 Wireless Network Adapter, update it and it works perfectly.
    See if it helps!

  • My linkeys e2000 gets disconnect each time someone connects wirelessly

This is happening all the time and my isp does not have a solution for it so hear I go.
My internet connection seems alright when I'm the only person using it but when family or guess comes over and wants to use it my whole internet connection gets disconnected and I have to wait about 20 minutes to if it's connected. Yes I time it because this has been happening all the time.
I've tried disconnecting the router and modem, waited 5 minutes and still no connection.
My software is up to date.
I tried pressing the center butten for a few seconds, nothing.
All I could think of has been done and no results. The only thing is that I had to wait thats it.
at times I would feel that when people connect it disrupts the wifi or modem.
Does anyone know why this is happening and a solution to fix this?

Make sure channel width is set to 20MHz only. Set it to a fix channel (1, 6, 9, or 11). Customize the advanced wireless settings, set beacon interval to 50, fragmentation threshold to 2306 and RTS threshold to 2307. If you have the same issue after doing these steps, don’t forget to update the router’s firmware to the latest. You can download it here http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/support/routers/E2000. After the router upgrade, reset and reconfigure.

,but that is not helping.kindly provide me the guidance.
when i searched in internet i am able to see many people are struggling with this same issue .

    Hi,
You can refer to this blog, and try to roll back to the older version of network adapter driver to check the results. Other suggestions can also be used to troubleshoot your issue.
Windows 8.1 Wifi showing "limited" or "No Internet Access"

Meanwhile, please check with the manufacturer of your router to update the firmware.
If the issue persists, please help to collect following information for further research:
    1)            Enable RAS Tracing on the client.
    -              Over an Administrative command prompt.
    -              C:\> netsh ras set tracing * enabled
    2)            On the client enable the following log as well:
    -              Over an Administrative command prompt.
    -              C:\> netsh trace start scenario=netconnection capture=yes tracefile=c:\net.etl
    3)            Now, turn off Wireless adapter on the client and Turn it back ON for making it to authenticate. Once it fails to connect to the Wireless network, proceed to the next step.
    4)            Disable RAS Tracing on the client.
    -              Over an Administrative command prompt.
    -              C:\> netsh ras set tracing * disabled

  • Non-proctored test - what happens if internet gets disconnected?

    Hi,
I am thinking of giving Oracle SQL Certification (1Z0-051) online as the test center is too far from my residence. Moreover, the internet on a given day gets disconnected for 2-5 seconds and then comes back again (sometimes requires a modem restart).
Just wondering, what happens when internet get disconnected while giving the test. Can I resume my test or has $125 gone down the drain?
    Thanks for your help.

  • What is isp and why i keep getting disconnected from the internet every 10mins?

my internet keeps failing on me, and the isp is red then the rest is yellow only the 3 top wifi settings are green. i solve the problem by clicking on diagnostic but can only stay on the internet for less than 10 mins then get disconnected again. can anyone help me fix this problem permanently?

Connect your Ethernet cable from your modem to your computer, power the modem off/30 seconds/on and wait until it's powered up, then turn on your computer.
If you get kicked off again like that by your IPS at regular time frames (and WiFi is good), it usually means there is a problem on your end.
    1: Malware
2: Excessive or exceeding monthly bandwidth allotment (it is Oct 26th)
    3: Unpaid bills
4: Insecure network (others doing bad things, malware)
5: P2P files sharing, illegal device online
6: Important ISP email wating your attention for something important
7: Broken device (like a defective router) or another issue. Could be a lose wire blowing in the wind and disconnecting.
Process of elimination, calling your IPS resolves many of them, get a new router/modem, then you focus on if it's your computer, the router or lines from your house to the pole. If all that's clear, and others are reporting the same issue, then the ISP will come take a look at the wires in the neighborhood, send a tech to your house to check the lines/connections.

  • Wifi gets disconnected after sometime while watching youtube on iPod Touch.

When I'm watching video on youtube, the wifi network suddenly gets disconnected after some time.
Even when I goto settings->wifi, I'm unable to find the wifi network.
However, at the same time I can find the wifi network and am able to browse internet on my laptop and mobile phone. I get the wifi network back, on when I switch off wifi and switch it after some 2mins of time.

    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router.
    - Reset networks settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - Does it happen with other networks?
    - Next would be to restore the iPod.

  • Getting disconnected

I keep getting disconnected on iChat AV with this Error :
2006-01-18 16:50:45 +0100: No data has been received for the last 10 seconds.
Audio channel info: local machine using 80.121.52.13:16386, expecting remote machine to send to 80.121.52.13:16386
Video channel info: local machine using 80.121.52.13:16384, expecting remote machine to send to 80.121.52.13:16384
I am video chatting with 4 Mac users and only with one of them I have this problem. He tells me it's the same for him : he has no problem with the other 3 but with me.
    Would appreciate some insight.

    Hi OVozeh,
You should check the connection speed at both ends
    http://www.auditmypc.com/internet-speed-test.asp
Ask if they have added a router to their connection.
Get then to post their Error message as the ports are right at your end. (And your modem is set to Bridge mode)
Before the !0 sec error do you get any Bitrate or Frame Rate info before the connection is lost ?
Check at both ends that System Preferences > Quicktime > Streaming tab is set to match the download speeds.
Check in iChat > preferences > Video section > Bandwidth Limit drop down is set to NONE.
Check what applications they have open that use the internet. Downloads will effect this.
This is most lilely one of these things.
1a) Their Connection is not fast enough
    b) or is capped in Quicktime or iChat.
    c) Or they are losing out to other Apps.
    2) They have added a router and it is not routing as iChat wants.

  • Qosmio X500: Lan/Internet connection get lost after period of time

    Hi all,.
I got the qosmio x500 for about half a year now...
I got this problem where after about 5 hours or less the lan/internet connection get lost.
I disabled the wireless connection and is using only the wired connnection now.
When it get disconnected... all devices seems to work seemlessly, no problem can be found. I checked the win7 network adaptor --and it seems to be connected properly.
I haven't got a slightest idea how to fix that.... Only a reset of the system and reloading the os results with a valid connection.
It is even stranger,. When using it for a piriod of time (listeding to audio streams from the web)... when getting back to the machine the audio connection seems to work properly.... but when trying to access other sites, or other machines in the homegroup, or network (under explorer). It result faulty.
Please guide me somehow how to fix the issue, it is bugging me a lot (all these resets to the machine probably doesn't do it any good as well).
    thanks in advance,.

    Hi,
It could be the energy saving feature of your network card.
Right click Network Icon on the status bar, choose 'Open Network Center and Sharing', Click on 'Connection', Click on 'Properties' (low left button), you'll see the tab with your Network Properties. Click 'Configure' (Upper right button), choose 'Power Management' (last right tab).
Uncheck 'Allow computer to shut down this device to save energy'. Probably your problem will now be solved.
If the names I write aren't exactly right, I'm on a French language computer so my translations can be slightly wrong.
    Bye,
