Several weeks ago, I began to have some very strange internet connection issues. All the lights on my modem stay on and my computer shows full wi-fi signal, but I suddenly I won't be able to load any pages. Other times, I'll be able to load pages from one site, but not another. It's not the same sites all the time though.... sometimes I'll be able to load pages from one site and not another, and then 5 minutes later it'll switch and I'll be able to load pages from the site I previously couldn't and I won't be able to load pages from the site I previously could. A lot of pages are coming up just text with no pics... and then 5 mintues later that site will load normally and another site will come up just text. It does the same thing whether I'm connecting wirelessly or via an ethernet cable. It also doesn't matter which browser I use (I've tried Safari, Chrome, and Firefox). Although, once in a while when using chrome, I get a DNS error page instead of the usual 'cannot find server'. I contacted my service provider and I'm not losing speed or dropping packets. According to them, the problem I'm having is very strange since diagnostic tests show no problems at all. Perhaps someone has run into this before and has a suggestion?

Then if you have tried all the browsers try connecting the system to yoour router with an Ethernet cable and turn WiFi off. If you have the same problem then it more then likely after your computer, Router or modem or connection from your ISP.
If you get good browsing with the Ethernet cable then it is either the WiFi card in your Mac or the WiFi system in your router.

First use JPanel not Panel.
Panel panels[]=new Panel[4];becomes

Apple changed the save behaviour several times in the past few versions of MacOsX - there is a good article about this:

The trouble is, you should (I know, not much of a help to you at this point) always create backups AND work with versions. So save many versions (x1, x1a, x2, x2a, etc), because when you work within one master file you run the risk of these type of accidents and there is always a tiny change your file becomes corrupt for some external reason. You never know. Disk space is cheap, losing your work is often a real hassle, and can become very problematic when dealing with clients.
So, save many versions, and make backups of your work. And never NEVER open your original files in any other software - always use a duplicate. You never know what that software might do to your files.
Anyway, have you tried searching for the file name on your mac? Maybe, just maybe there is a duplicate lying around somewhere with the layers intact.

When electricity turned off, my computer shut down then I turned on it and opened the PSD again but there was only one locked layer filled in black and no other layers. The CrashIDs are what is needed. Do not attempt to attach or paste the reports.

So you are saying it works ok as long as you avoid certain pages such as this Forum. That makes me wonder if it could be malware that is blocking access to assistance.Run malwarescans with multipe and up-to-date tools.

How do I delete photos from my daughter's ipod that showed up on there when she got music from her aunt's itunes? Also how do I make sure none of my iphone pics show up on her ipod in the future (we use the same itunes account and I think same icloud).

I'm totally new to iphone/ipod. I need help with the following:
1) How do I get rid of a folder of photos that showed up on my daughter's ipod touch when she received some songs from her aunt's itunes? After she got some songs from that itunes a folder of pictures showed up with no delete option. Does she need to reconnect to that itunes/computer and if so what do we need to do to remove this folder of pics from her ipod?
2) Also, my daughter uses same itunes as myself, how do I make sure any pics I have on my iphone & icloud (itunes) don't show up on her ipod? I shut off my photostream so perhaps this is the solution. But I noticed that a message I sent from her ipod to my sister (an iphone user) later showed up on my iphone (as if I had sent it from my iphone)! That was really odd. I'd like to keep our itunes account together simply so I can monitor her downloads, etc so I don't want to open up her own itunes to avoid automatic syncing.
I only want to share music between our devices. I don't want her pics nor my pics to go to icloud/itunes.

Yes, you have to connect the iPod to that computer and go to the Photos pane for the iPod in iTunes and uncheck sync photos and the click on synce/apply. In the future do not check sync photos.

Create a NEW account for using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.

- Settings>Messages>Send and receive and sign out your ID and sign into hers. Make sure that only her ID email address is listed.

- Settings>iCloud and sign out and sign in with hers
Contnue to use the commpn ID/account for Settings>iTunes and App stores.

All current versions of firefox (4-6) only open about 70% of the web pages I go to some are sites that I know work but firefox 4-6 will not open it. How Come?

when I try to open certain pages like newegg.com or the like it will hang and the entire page will go black. then when I go to close the browser I can't close it in the normal fashion I have to end the task in windows task manager. This only happens when I have installed Firefox Versions 4,5 and 6. I am still using Mozilla Firefox 3.6.20 due to the web page instability that I have experienced with the newest versions. Also this will happen when I visit the Mozilla Main page as well.

I have had to go back to 3.6 because 4 - 6 will not work on half the web sites I go to. I also have the same problem with newer versions of IE. There is some thing missing in newer versions or needs to be turned on.

I have a request from a end-user to setup a four page PDF in Adobe Acroat 9 PDF to only allow printing of one specific page of the four page PDF.
The end-user will abe able to view the four pages in the PDF - however - the PDF would only allow printing of one page. The PDF would need to be pre-set for the end-user. Is there a setting Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro to allow this type of specific pre-set printing.

Exporting all art boards from a document with only one art board adds -01 to filename in cs4!!! GRRR

I love the new multiple art boards feature but where is the logic when you only have one art board? It gets re-named with an -01.
picture.png becomes picture-01.png
This is really frustrating because the old crop marks system is gone and oh well it is just frustrating.
Any ideas?

There are easier ways to access photos in iPhoto, then to reveal them in the Finder. It is risky to use the files in iPhotos "Originals" and "Previews" folders to share them from there. Other programs might modify these files and corrupt your library.
Saver ways are to drag the thumbnails from iPhoto to the Desktop, to use the Media Browser, to export the versions. See Terence Devlin's User Tip:

iPhoto stores the images in its Library by the date of the import. You cannot do much about that.

I have iphone 4, uploaded iOS7. Only some of my emails are transmitted to my phone. They all show up on my computer but only some show up on the phone. Sometimes the emails on the phone delete before I can even read them. Any thoughts?

I have iphone 4 , updated to iOS 7 and had to reset phone, lost many contacts. Fixed a duplication problem on contacts. Now the problem is with email, I have a cox account, icloud account. I can send myself a test message and I always get it on the phone. I do not consistently obtain other emails, yet all the emails show up on my home computer. Do I have my settings messed up?

OK, I did the following:
I read and then deleted ALL the messages waiting for me at the Tiscali server using their webmail option.
This left my Tiscali in box completely empty.
To be on the safe side, I deleted all my Email Accounts on my Mac and loaded just one, the [email protected] - i.e. my Tiscali email address. I also reset and then changed the password.
I then got Tiscali tech support to reset my mailbox.
I then crossed my fingers!
I then sent myself a number of test emails, some from the Tiscali server webmail option, some from my PC laptop and some from Mail on my beloved Mac.
I can now confirm that I can send emails from my Mac using Mail but cannot download any. All that happens when I click "Get Mail" on Mail is that the program looks at the pop3 mail server at Tiscali but doesn't see the test emails that are waiting there for me to download.
Any suggestions???

How can I utilize text variable in my book which only uses data merge on the first chapter?

Hey ladies and gents, I'm trying to automate a process here and running into trouble. I have the first chapter of a book with several data merge fields (legal documents etc), and want the later chapters to pick up from what I have already merged via text variables or SOMETHING. From what I've tried, the options available to me are limited and buggy.
Using the running header with character styles almost worked, but it removes all visual tracking in text around it (I assume this is a bug) and it only works for the first/last instance of the style. I need something that will fill in all instances.
Here is an example of what I'm doing. In the ch1 document of my book I data merge the Name, Age and Occupation of a person. In chapter two I want to have a variable that takes the name that was merged in ch1. Any ideas? Doesn't seem possible!

I need some solution that references live text, specifically different fields that have been data merged. This solution needs to work between documents, so your cross-reference suggestion was in the right direction. If I data merge 'Plan Name' from a CSV file into my first document and mark it with something (character style, paragraph style, text anchor etc), I want to have places in my other documents that pull that exact text from the first.
If document 1 says 'the plan is XXXX', document 2 will copy that name, i.e. 'According to plan XXXX'. Whatever solution this is it's what I'm looking for.

Your backlight is out, it's a hardware problem and you'd be best served to take it in for an estimate. Or you could purchase an external display and use it as a desktop computer. You'll have to decide if repairing a 6 year old computer is worth it.

Only Apple Account Security could help at this point. You can try calling Apple Support in Canada - you'll have to find one of the several ways, such as Skype, to call an 800 number from outside of the relevant country - and ask for Account Security and see if they can help. Or you can find a friend who speaks Chinese and ask them to help you talk to Apple Support in China. There are really no other options that I know of.
Note, by the way, that these are user-to-user support forums. You aren't speaking with Apple when you post here.
