Into clause of the explain_plan

hello,
does anybody know if the "into" clause of the explain_plan(the plan_table parameter ) is editable on sql developer ?

Not through the preferences (but maybe reverse-engineering).
You can always add this as feature request at the SQL Developer Exchange, so other users can vote to add weight for possible future implementation.

    i think you should have placed your SELECT statement in a cursor variables since you
    are using a date range instead of the INTO clause. this is to avoid too many rows error.

  • Issue while using SUBPARTITION clause in the MERGE statement in PLSQL Code

    I am using the below code to update specific sub-partition data using oracle merge statements.
    I am getting the sub-partition name and passing this as a string to the sub-partition clause.
    The Merge statement is failing stating that the specified sub-partition does not exist. But the sub-partition do exists for the table.
    We are using Oracle 11gr2 database.

  • Using a select clause in the column formula in an Analysis

    Hi all,
    Is there a function or syntax that I can use to simulate a "SELECT" clause in the column formula of an Analysis? What I am trying to achieve is displaying a measure from a specific fact record into the current record. For example, if the current record displays "Region","position", and "salary", I would like to add an additional column called "compared to" in which I can display the "salary" measure from another specific fact record whose attributes I know.
    Is there a function/statement that I can use to achieve this?

    Add SQL filter in that column then follow blow steps
    Convert this filter to SQL
    i.e : add more option to sql here u can write SQL query in that column

  • Creating a where clause in the LOV query box

    Hi guys is any able to help me with this one
    i have a page in my app where there is a LOV drop down now the values for this drop down comes from a table that looks like this
    users_for _form_TBL
    E_MAIL

    So my syntax for the LOV i mentioned looks like this

    so if [email protected] logs onto the app and has to make a selection on the LOV it would only display the vendors relative to his E_MAIL like oracle ,sap, IBM then he hits the submit button on the page then the vendor that he selected is inserted into another table .What i did on the insert table was create a trigger that after a vendor is inserted the trigger inserts a 1 into a column called assessed .
    What i did after this was add a select in the where clause of the LOV so that it would check in the insert table if that vendor had been chosen before and not display it again to be selected  my syntax the second time around in the SQL query box was
    select VENDOR as display_value, VENDOR as return_value
      from users_for _form_TBL where E_MAIL = :APP_USER
    and (select 'vendor' , 'ASSESSD' from inserted _tbl_imp is null);
    order by 1 ;
    But im getting an error any ideas guys .Thank you

  • Procedure failed while using bulk collect into clause and works with cursor

    I am using "BULK collect into" clause in my procedure and it is failing after 21 minutes and gives the error "end of file communication channel".

    I agree with Billy.
    Why are you not using an INSERT..SELECT ?
    Also, what are you trying to achieve by
    - incremental commits?
    - copying data from one table to another (using expensive I/O)?
    - using dynamic DML?
    Most of these approaches are typically wrong - and not recommended for scalable and performant Oracle applications.I could see you using a CURSOR FOR LOOP if you were changing the data being inserted in such a way that you couldn't encapsulate the changes in a query, but you are doing a straight insert into the table from your Cursor. A much more efficient way would be to use the following modifications I made to your code example:

    I am running the below PL/SQL block but getting the below error. From what I know, the INTO clause can only be used when a single row will be returned. In this case, I know it returns multiple rows, so why is it asking to use the INTO clause?

  • Where Clause in the Forms doesn't work

    Hi,
    I am trying to execute a query in base table block. The block property 'Query allowed' is TRUE and WHere clause is null;
    I used 'SET_BLOCK_PROPERTY' and set the where clause. Did a GO_BLOCK and EXECUTE_QUERY;
    The block brings all records as if there is no where clause. TO make sure I put up a message 'GET_BLOCK_PROPERTY' to see the where clause. It showed correct where clause.

    Setting the where clause the way you did usually works, and it worked fine for me several times.
    Yet, a couple of days ago I ran into something that defies my logic:
    1) when using the "=" operator, it fetched me several records that satisfied the condition
    2) when using the "<=" or ">=" operator it fetched only one of the records that satisfied the condition: the one that is strictly equal.
    I tried using the pre-query trigger, but to no avail.

  • Why do I have to use SELECT INTO clause in a Stored Proc ?

    Hi,
    I'm new to oracle. I've bought Oracle Database 10g SQL and Oracle Database 10 A beginner's Guide, two books from Oracle press but I can't find any answer for that.
    Why when I'm writing a Stored Procedure with a SELECT statement do I have to use an INTO clause ?? And why when the select returns more than one row do I have to use a cursor ? By the way is this the only way to return more than one row from a stored procedure ?

    Sounds like you may have some experience with other databases (SQL Server, maybe?) which allow you to create stored procedures which implicitly return result sets simply by embedding select statements.
    In Oracle, the correct way to do this is using ref cursors.

    Not really of common use, I think, but WITH CHECK OPTION option could be one reason for using that. Let's see an example :
