INVALID REGION(S) CHANGED!!!!!!!!Help

Since two weeks....sometime when I open some sessions a window say "invalid region(s)changed".....result: some audio tracks lost! (definitively lost also in the audio window!!)...or some tracks move or change position.
I can find a solution....it did not happened since several years as a Logic user.
What can I do?...maybe my new external U.S.B. Packard Bell hard disk (500gyga) don't work well with mac?
Help

That sounds like a very good idea — but make sure everything is backed-up first (since of course when you re-format a disc you lose all the data on it).
I'm surprised you were able to record to the disc in the first place! Perhaps you didn't use it to record onto, but simply copied the files onto it from somewhere else?

  • Invalid Region(s) Changed !!!

I am trying to share Garageband sessions with my musician Buddy via mobile me (iDisk). He'll upload a project, archived and compressed, no bigger than 30 mb. I'll then copy & paste it to my drive, open it in GB, maybe add a track or two, save it under a different name archived & compressed then when I try to copy and paste it to my iDisk I get (Error - 36) something about certain files cannot be read or written. That's one issue.
    Here's my main problem.
I will work on a New GB project w/ several tracks involved. Save it to my drive, not archived or compressed, open it later and work a little more with no problems. I will then save a version for my buddy, archived and compressed under a different name to be uploaded to my iDisk for him to download. Before i even attempt uploading, I will reopen that archived version immediatly and receive a warning that "3 invalid region(s) have been change." He gets this message after he downloads it and opens it. Then he is unable to upload his version due to what I discussed prior. (ERROR - 36) What is that?! I've been doing this for sometime now prior to Leopard. Could it be Leopard?

  • Please help.....error message "4 invalid region(s) changed!"

i received this message when i opened a song i was working on in garageband. the last time i worked on it i saved my changes like i always do and everthing was fine. then i open it today and get this message. when i click ok and the file opens many of the tracks are in the wrong spot and/or on the wrong channels...any help would be greatly appreciated....thanks

I only experienced this once, a couple of years ago, on a project where I really pushed things (basically it was three separate projects pieced together into a fourth).
I spent several days trying to track down the cause/fix, and after three days admitted defeat and salvaged what I could from previous iterations and re-did what I had to.

  • What is this "6 invalid region(s) changed!" crap?

and why is deleting my track and replacing it with bits and pieces of another one? and why when i try to re-copy the same track from somewhere else and pasted it does it paste something completely different from what i copied, and is actually bits and pieces of something from somewhere else? what bunk.

I get this and its very annoying. If you change an audio file within one project, say in one .ISO and then save as a different .ISO, just the .ISO is changed but both .ISO's are still getting their audio from the same folder. Hence, if you change an audio file within one song, it'll change it in the other and you get that messsage. The workaround is to save the audio as a copy. That way, you can alter one version without affecting the other. Definitely not efficient.

  • Invalid Region Changes??

I've been trying to load a song I recorded and saved, but for some reason I get an error message during the load that says "2 invalid region(s) changed." When the song opens two of the instruments are missing. The actual tracks and all the settings are still there, but the recordings are not. I've searched everywhere on my computer, but I can't find them. I'm very disappointed because everything was sounding so good. Please help me figure out what went wrong and how I can get these recordings back. Thanks.

See if you can recover the recordings from the project package:

  • Invalid Regions Changed

    Hi all,
Any help here would be appreciated. I have a song that when I open it now I get the error message, "23 invalid regions changed". When I play that song I don't get my original audio clips but they have been replaced by other audio clips from a different song.
Any advice on how to get my original clips back?
    Thanks.

Something's terribly messed up with these two songs. Your first thing to try is to recover the audio files from the original song:

(Hope you didn't save the song in the meantime!)

  • ORA-06502 on "Help Text" region when changing pages on a tabular form

    Hello everybody,
We are developing an application on Apex 4.1.0.00.32. This application have some pages with tabular forms and these pages uses a page zero as template. In this page zero, we have added two sidebar regions: a list region to navigate on the application and a help text to describe how to use our application.
The problem occurs when the tabular split the records into pages (since it has more records that it can show on a single page). When the user clicks to change to another page, Apex raises an ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error as described below:
Erro ao renderizar a região "Ajuda". ORA-06502: PL/SQL: erro: erro de conversão de caractere em número numérico ou de valor

Obs: Our database is in Brazilian Portuguese, so I guess it will be hard for some people to understand the first two lines! :)
We have tried to change the pagination style of the tabular form and change the region model of the help text but the problem still happens.
Does anyone an ideia about what this may be?
    Thanks in advance!

I am getting the exact same message, to the line number, also in APEX 4.1.0.0.32.

  • One invalid regions changed! what does this alert mean?

when I open one of my sessions I get an alert saying "1 invalid regions changed!" then i have to click ok to get rid of it. I also get other ones saying audio files missing and i have to click ok to continue. Im just wondering how to get rid of these and what understand what they mean.

It means between quitting your project and opening it again something has changed about your audio files. You may have edited or renamed or relocated them, or renamed the folder they were in, or renamed the disk they are on etc., or OSX may have renamed longer-than-31-characters-filenames to something usercryptic.
Or the Logic Song is becoming corrupted.
    regards, Erik.

  • Invalid regions

Hi all ...here's a new one ( at least for me ...)
Opened a project folder and 143 invalid regions were moved ( that' the actual message text in lp7.1..).So instead of the drums ( 5 audio tracks .... 4 were spared ) an exact copy of the voice and guitar are playing back now...offset of course .
ALL Other tracks remained unchanged. Only the top 5 changed.
    Any thoughts ?
Everything was saved on a single folder with audio files in it ( they are still there...) .
Nothing strange was done to my project, no power loss, only a couple of force quits but not with this project open, another one was open and it appears to be fine.
I replaced the audio files, saved the project under xxx2.iso and when I opened it for the second time ... AGAIN ...65 invalid regions were moved ....
I have no Idea what I might have done this time ...
    Any help is appreciated Thanks
    Sergio

hi sergio i ran into the same problem couple times with different songs never had as many invalid regions changed as in your case but i had like 2 or 4 or max at 6 . this was very annoying where a different part played in place of that region and i had to re record some parts. I looked in the audio recordpath folder for that song and the audio file was never there to be found. you were lucky you still had the audio files . mine just vanished . i did not erase them in another song because i never deleted audio files in the first place. But i am getting nervous to work with Logic express 7.1. if it keeps saying invalid regions changed after a day when it was fine the day before and i have'nt done anything weird with the disks. If you got anyideas or work arounds. it would be very helpful.. of course now i am saving projects and copying everything and renaming any new audio files going in to songs.

  • I've just found the keyboard shortcut in Garageband for 'copy region' had changed from cmdC to ctrlC. I went to Preferences and clicked Restore Defaults for shortcuts. Now its altC . How can I get it back to the original commands.

When I use find file http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/30073/find-file (which does tend to find files that "Finder" can't), it's not coming up with any other itunes library files that have been modified in the past week, which I know it would have been - unfortunately, I don't have a very recent backup of the hard drive.  It would be a few months old so it wouldn't have the complete library on it....any ideas?  I'm wondering if restarting the computer might help but have been afraid to do so in case it would make it harder to recover anything...I was looking at this thread https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4211589?start=0&tstart=0 in the hopes that it might have a helpful suggestion but it's definitely a different scenario.

  • I just bought iWorks Serial Number Key over the internet. When I use the key, iWorks tells me the key is invalid!! Please help. (I bought this iWorks from someone in Singapore. I am using it in Malaysia)

I just bought iWorks Serial Number Key over the internet. When I use the key, iWorks keep telling me the key is invalid!! Please help. (I bought this iWorks from someone in Singapore. I am using it in Malaysia.). Thanks

Downloaded the Trial version. It still says the serial number key is invalid. On the iWork page where I am suppose to enter the serial number key, the "Go Back" button is always BOLD, but the "Continue" button remains GREY all the time. The "Continue" button remains grey even after I have completed the key entry. I have to type the "Return" key on my keyboard to force enter the key. The message I get is still "Invalid key".
I have called Apple. The first person helped by asking me to delete certain items in some Folders and it still did not work. I was then connected to a senior person, but I heard over the recording that there were 15 persons waiting on the line. I had to end the call because the wait will take too long.

  • Invalid Number Error Please help Urgent

    Hi,
I am trying to create a report in discoverer where in I get an invalid number error for the statement
    ,DECODE(final.TYP,'Sales',to_char(final.future_supplpy),'B/O','B/O') sale_type.
We have the requirement that when TYP is Sales i need to display future supply and when the TYP is B/O i need to display B/O.
The query runs perfectly fine in TOAD but in Discoverer Desktop when i run the report i get an error message
    invalid number.
    Please help its urgent
    Thanks
    Ashwini

    Hi Ashwani
First of all, your statement appears to not be handling anything other than Sales or B/O. Is that deliberate? If not, you need a default, catch all value at the end like this:
    DECODE(final.TYP,'Sales',NVL(final.future_supply,to_char(final.future_supply),'B/O','B/O', default_value) sale_type
You also might want to make sure there aren't any NULL values in future_supply or in TYP and if there are you might want to consider using an NVL for these, like this:
    DECODE(final.TYP,'Sales',NVL(to_char(final.future_supply,NULL),'B/O','B/O', default_value) sale_type
Also, when using DECODE you don't always need to use TO_CHAR as the DECODE conversion to a string typically takes place automatically. CASE is different as it insists that all results are of the same data type.
    Hope this helps
    Best wishes
    Michael

i am facing problem zooming and in slide as i think there is some general setting got changed help to rectify.

If the screen appears zoomed in then try double-tapping the screen with 3 fingers (with zoom 'on' you need to use 3 fingers to drag around the screen), and then go into Settings > General > Accessibility and turn Zoom 'off', and possibly also change what Triple-Click Home is set to.
