Inventory Tracking & Inventory Posting for Serial number managed items

Hi,
Plase advise me to address this issue..
My scenarios is : - hand an item whih is serially managed, purchase 2qty and it serial number is 'S1' and 'S2', in a delivery document had selected 'S2" and physically issued 'S1', ineed to correct serial number at the time of inventory counting..kindly advise...

HI Raghu ,
as you are setting other properties like itemcode and warehouse, u will find batchnumber and batch qunatity(after u press Lines. ) see the sample locally at ..Program Files\SAP\SAP Business One SDK\Samples\COM DI\VB.NET\04.SerialAndBatch. , if u have )
the sample updates the batch table in loop, whereas I used to give all the required batch quntity at once.
U have to make it sure that the item is managed by batch ( if a field in oitm called 'ManBtchNum' is found 'Y' then only go ahead with defining batch number and batch quantity else , ur document will not simplly get posted and no error will be thrown)
also remember that since it is goods issue, u have to have the batch existing in the database (oibt table) with the defined batch quantity.)

Need your help regarding the error encountered during MIGO. Error M7172 "Serial Number management only allows whole number"
Based from the PO posted, Matl X has 50ea order quantity, however, the material master is maintained with a Base unit of OZ,
with this, conversion has been added to convert the EA --> OZ. and result will be 0.531OZ for the PO Qty in SKU.
Known that decimal places is not possible in conjunction to Serial Number Management.
May I just confirm if there could be settings that can be configured, so as to allow decimal values be used and assign serial number. Or is serial number should just be assigned per unit (meaning 1:1, one serial number per 1 whole value of uom)?

How to change the posting date in UD stock posting for a HU managed item?

Hi,
We are using Handling Unit managed items with QM activation. For a specific HU managed material, we wanted to post the stock on a previous date. We have created PO on a back date and made GR also on a back date. Now the problem is, the system has generated an inspection lot. Now while trying to do UD and stock posting, I do not see the "Doc" tab which we normally see in UD stock posting for normal inspection lots (non-HU managed items) for changing the date.
I don't see any other way to change the posting date for the HU managed item in UD stock posting. Anyone can help please?

New scenarion for serial number management.

hi all,
Currently during goods reciept serial no. are generated aotomatically.
for ex.when we takes the goods reciept of 100 sim cards.at the time of gr system automatically create 100 serial nos 1,2,3,4,----
to 100. now my client wants if we return this material to vendor(due to poor quality).the sim must be returned by using same serial no.and when we takes the substitute delivery,then same srial no. is used. as return.
pls reply me asap.

It is not possible . system can not create the serial no for return goods .
u only remember the serial nos of return goods and u only given the same serial nos at the time of receiving the same return goods from vendor.

Inventory Tracking / Stock Posting cannot change batch quantity

When stock taking, Item A in the system consist of :
- Batch B-01 = 10 pcs
- Batch B-02 = 10 pcs.
Actual stock has:
- Batch B-01 = 20 pcs.
Anybody knows how to fix this batch quantity, through Inventory Tracking / Stock Posting ?
Since I try it, it couldn't work.

User Exit for "Serial Number" in VL02N before "Post Goods Issue".

Hi Friends,
Current Scenario:
End User has to scan "Serial Number" for Main Unit (Item CAtegory - TAN) while doing "Outbound Delivery". But, sometimes he forget to do this activity of scanning "Serial Number". And do "Post Goods Issue" without "Serial Number".
Requirement:
When End user will click "Post Goods Issue", system should first check "Serial Number" for Main Unit (Item Category - TAN). If he will not find "Serial Number" then system should give warning message for "Serial Number".
Please suggest the suitable "User Exit" that can be used for above purpose.
Or if there is any other way then let us know.

We are implementing SAP for trading products. We have a scenario that a material has 2 or 3 unique serial numbers.
We are planning to go for serial no. management.
How can the serial number management can be extended to the scenario.
Can we used batch management and serial number management.

Your requirement is not completely clear.
I am guessing you are saying that a specific object can have 3 serial numbers, example, you are a trading company dealing with Television sets, so you will a serial number to identify a particular piece, at the same time it will have another Serial number ID from the Manufacturer ( say Samsung) and one more assigned by the Main Distributor and so on. Is that the case?
Or are you talking about A TV having a Serial number and the Cathode Ray Tube (CRT- I know it is obsolete technology- but just an example) within the TV has another Serial Number and so on.
Please clarify.
In any case I don't think you can have more than one Serial number assigned to a unique piece part. But you could use some fields within Serial Number master data- General tab- e.g. ManufSerialNo. and Inventory no to capture the 'other' serial numbers, but they will be just fields for information.
For the second case you may build a structure like an Ibase and have a hierarchy of Equipment; like TV with CRT, Tuner under it for example.
You can also use batch but batch is like a lot and signifies a set of products and not just one (usually).
Provide more info and you will have ideas coming from everyone.

User-Exit for Serial Number Profile / Equipment creation

In the Material Master Data , we have a serial number profile and at the time of
Post Good Issue , the system do generate an equipment record in the Service Module .
That is standard SAP and working very well .
For some customers (Inter-Company) customers we do not want any Equipment record in the Service Module to be created .
What standard SAP functionality or user-exit can we use in order to not create the Equipment record in the Service Module ?

In the Serial number profile, go to Serializing procedures. The EqReq field determines whether an equipment is to be created or not. For e.g. 01 in MMSL implies that equipment will not be created during GR,
Not sure whether this will satisfy your requirement. Will need more information for that...

Photoshop CC keep asking for Serial Number. Adobe has charged my credit card 5x since June, but my Photoshop CC still doesn't work.

This is also happening to me.
I've been a subscriber for the last year and a bit.
I've moved to a new computer at home and since then I've been getting this prompt even though I'm signed in, everytime I've opened photoshop. Now the trial has expired and I'm cut off from using it.
This is total BS.
I've spent the last 2.5 hours going thru every adobe support doc they've posted. Nothing works. Two hour wait on the phone, 2.5 hour wait to chat (if I'm lucky and the window manages to stay open).
Oh hey, I can see my breach notification from here too!

「Serial Number Management」 Improvement

As far as Serial Number Management, SAP Business One is designed so that serial number update is done after specifying the serial number by narrowing down on Purchase Order or Delivery. However if an Item has a large number of Serial Number such as more than 100, it requires huge work to a user and it causes bad efficiency on the useru2019s business process.
We would like to add the following functionality on SAP Business One
1. Mfr Serial Number search (specifying a record) function on u201CSerial Number Management - Updateu201D screen
2. Mfr Serial Number update function on u201CSerial Number Detailu201D screen

This question was in relation to sap note no 200231- Scrapping of Serial Numbers. I am not able to figure out how the user status can acheive this requirement and where I can change the user status?
My why not putting this question by giving reference to the sap note in the initial stage was that I wanted to figure out myself first and to avoid confusion among the community memebers.

Symptom
You can post a goods receipt again for a serial number that has been scrapped before.
Additional key words
Movement type, 551, 553, 555, available, AVLB, system status, usage decision, inspection lot, scrapping, MB1A
Cause and prerequisites
Several movements of serial numbers are grouped together for status update under goods issue (PMS8).
In addition to the reversal of a goods receipt and several consumption postings this also includes scrapping.
Solution
To prevent the usage of a scrapped serial number, you can use the user status logic.
However, the user status defined for this must either be set manually or with a subsequent (background) procedure.
If it is necessary to reverse a scrapping, you then would have to reset this user status manually again.

Movement type 317 - support serial number management?
We are using SAP ECC 6.0. and trying to create a structured material from constituent components with the WM 317. The components are using serial numbers. When we try to post the material document we get an error message:

Diagnosis
With the help of * under the business operation, the entry in table T156S used here under movement type 317 defines that no serial numbers are supported here.

Is the scenario relates to Retail ?? Movement Type 317 is used for Creation of a structured material from constituent components (Retail). Check Note 131969 - Recommendation: Store returns in SAP Retail Release 4.0

when I post goods return in qa12, the system shows movement type 124 doesn't support serial number.
Could anyone can tell me where I can set the movement type for serial number?

Unfortunately it is impossible to post a return delivery from the usage-decision for a material with serial number profile, which is in goods receipt blocked stock. This is is missing functionality
The possibility in the standard would be the following :
1. Close the inspection lot. Please do the stock-posting in a way, that you post to 'GR blocked stock'. Remark : No physical is done. This is only necessary to achieve, that status SPCO is set.
2. Post the reutrn delivery with the MM-IM-transaction (e.g. MIGO).
Please check, if this is possible.

Serial Number Management Within Plants

Hi all,
I have a doubt with the following scenerio.
X material    A plant -> Serial number management active...Serial numbers generated within REM confirmations...
X material    B plant -> Serial number management is not active...
Material X goods issue from plant A to plant B within outbound delivery with serial numbers
Material X goods receipt to plant B from plant A within outbound delivery without serial numbers...
Is it possible that a material X have serial number management in plant A and no serial number management in plant B? System checks serial number profiles must be the same between plants while goods issue from plant A to plant B.

    In transaction MM01 create a serialised material in plant YYYY, assigning the material to serial profile 0001.
    In transaction MM01, again create the same material number for plant ZZZZ and assign the material to the serial profile 0002.
    Within transaction MIGO, transfer the material from plant YYYY to plant ZZZZ using movement type 301.
    Error 'M7174 Serial number profiles different in plant YYYY & and in plant ZZZZ' is issued.
Cause
    Please refer to the SAP note 53229. At present, the program logic of the serial number management can only process one serial number profile at a time.
    The error in question E174 is hardcoded within the program 'MM07MFU0_UMLAGERMAT_PRUEFEN'.

Resolution
Please refer to the SAP note 53229.
The serial number profiles of the receiving and issuing plants must be identical.
The restriction is put in place in order to avoid inconsistencies for the material / serial numbers.
SAP do not recommend that you customise the system to by-pass this error, as this posting could lead to inconsistencies in the follow-up movements (i.e. if, for instance, you post from Plant A - having a 'must-serialization' to Plant B, where the serial number profile has been set to 'no-serialization' for material movements).

Why can't iTunes track your ipod's serial number when it is synced to iTunes?

I was wondering Why, if your iPod is stolen, iTunes cannot track your ipod's serial number when it is synced to iTunes.. I've had my iPod touch almost a year now and it is registered in my name and everything. This past weekend someone somehow got into my car while at a concert and stole my purse, my ipod, my friend's ipod and wallet. I didn't think to file a police report because I figuered there would be nothing they can do. Since, a lot of people buy and sell iPods all of the time from one another instead of from a store. I thought to let it go, but it keeps haunting me, someone has access to a lot of my person information. This hit me when at work, I was using Pandora internet radio, and someone deleted all of my radio stations and added their own. They are still using it till this day and I have no clue what to do, I've changed my password to Pandora even. I know it's being used via my iPod from my Pandora app, I regreat not downloading the new ios5 on my iPod... So, I really have no further idea of what to do. I contacted Pandora in hopes they could change my account password or delete it or something, I just hope they haven't used any thing else important. I really wish it were possible for iTunes to track an iPods Serial number when the iPod is either synced to iTunes / iTunes store.. If it were possible, I wish they could help me out and at least lock my prior iPod or hopefully delete everything from that.. I don't have much hope in this though :/

Thanks for the suggestions... tried tehm but no luck so I've taken it back. I think I'll try a Samsung (only other ones I've found with a Sleep Function) and move to Audible instead of iTunes. A shame after years of iTunes use but I shouldn't have to spend days getting a product to work. Thanks again.
