IOS 5.0 - Problems with the feature "Mail"

Gentleman,
I installed the new iOS 5.0 and suddenly two problems appeared in my "mail" featured. I have a google mail count in my iPhone:
- Appeared 2 Inboxs for the same mail, and both inbosx received the same messages. I could not delete this second mail box.
- The messages in my Inbox does not show "from", just "to" and I can not put the message to "unread" or change anything. The most strange that the messages that I received become messages that I can send to others.
I tried to restart the mail in the configuration, I tried to restart all the iPhone to return to factory configuration and the software return to iOS 5.0 and with the same problem.
Anyone have the same problem? Any toughts?

Im having the same issue. It didnt happen right after the update. I updated at 1pm and it happened at 9pm. My memory is still there for them when i plug it into iTunes but the memory is now under "other" instead of apps.

I had this same problem with both my imac and mac book pro using hotmail via mac mail with bt as my internet provider. Suddenly 4 months ago out of nowhere i could receive emails but could not send them. I scoured all the threads followed all the fixes none of them worked. However I just phoned apple support and fixed it in a matter of minutes. I am SO happy. This is what the technician advised me:
Go to your apple icon and scroll down to system preferences. Then dependant on what machine you have it is different for my imac and mac book pro click on either air port/wifi then the advanced tab in the bottom right hand corner. Then click on the DNS tab. Hit the + sign on the left hand side and type in 8.8.8.8 then hit the + sign again on the left hand side it will create a new line underneathe and type 8.8.4.4 then hit okay on the bottom right and then hit apply, again on the bottom right. Then send a test email to check but it should be fixed.
Had to share this. Its been driving me mad for months.

IOS 6.1 problem with the phone not ringing

Anyone having a problem after updating to IOS 6.1 on their iPhone 4s. The phone no longer rings when a call comes in. I tried restarting the phone which I have seen on a few post on the Internet but that did not correct the issues. My wife and I both have an iPhone 4s 32gb with Verizon and we both ran the update last night. My phone was a little slow so I restarted the phone and that seemed to resolve the issue. However on my wife's phone it will not ring. You call the number and you can see the call coming in but the phone will not ring. We have tried restarting the phone with no success. Has anyone else had this issue and what did you do to resolve.
PS: I am also one of the Administrators for the Messaging team and I have had several of my users with iPhones call me regarding the same issue. Looking for a solution for myself and others.

We definitely need to get to the bottom of this. Receiving calls, and being aware of them is totally important. Is it with every call? Did you check Alert Settings to ensure you have it set to Ring?
There is a Setting called Interruptions; this may interfere with all notifications when an App is open. It's in Sound and Notification.

Problems with the e-mails SKY send collapsing my Microsoft Outlook

I have been forced to unsubscribe from SKY's e-mails as they collapse my Microsoft Outlook multiple times and I have to keep closing and re-opening it at least 6 or 7 times in order to get it into my delete box and delete it. This has happened the last 4 or 5 times I have received the weekly e-mail from them and I said if it happened again I would unsubscribe. It has just happended and I have. They never used to do this so why am I having this problem now? Does anyone else have this problem? A good way to get all your subscribers to refuse to receive your offerings. All large organisations make it impossible to contact them, so no way to let them know other than here. If they sort it out they can let me know and I'll resubscribe, but not until. They suggest I keep up with everything on Facebook or Twitter, except I do not and have no intention of using said platforms. I have subscribed for nearly 25 years, mostly the full package. I despair.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Maybe you should test these things before calling people out, because these settings do function perfectly well.
iCloud is not supported on Snow Leopard or lower, why bother to mention it?
The OP has an iCloud account, and that can not be opened without Lion or Mountain Lion (on a Mac), IOS5 or 6 (on an iPhone/iPad)

Yes. I don't have the version you pay for. I also tried the free version

I got my iphone 5 3 weeks ago and the battery life is very short. It drains out very fast. Does anyone know if it's a problem with the iOS or with my phone? Because I'm a bit concerned

It sounds like you have an app that is incorrectly continuously using data and power... from normal use the phone should NOT be getting that warm... only constant video playing via data like Netflix for example would result in that...
I'd say that you should remove all apps in the recent app tray... tunr phone off... then once you power back on...
Hold BOTH home and sleep wake buttons together until you see a white apple symbol... then release both buttons...
This will ensure you have no apps running...
I've experienced a hang up with mail while out and about that has resulted in this on my iPhone as well... Once I performed these steps it was fixed... it seemed like it got stuck and that's what caused the warm phone and battery drain...
I notived that when it gets stuck (mail app that is) I will see the text connecting at the bottom and it never changes to "updated" like it should... this is my trigger that it's gotten stuck.
Have not really figured out what causes mail app to get stuck yet...

Have you attempted an iTunes restore and setting up as a new device? Sometimes battery life issues can be caused by corrupted iOS software.

Also if I go to system preferences accounts and re-enter the password it fixes the glitch sometimes.

This isn't an issue. Notice the screen prior to the one that shows usage has an iCloud section and a Manage Storage button. For this button to activate ios needs to download a few kb from icloud. Switching back to this screen forces ios to download those few kb.
