IOS 7.1 Update problems with text and imessage

SInce I did the latest updates I've had problems with my text and iMessage. First I've never used iMessage in the past and always got my text messages and sent text just fine. Now it seems at though I can only have one or the other. If I have friends using iMessage and I have my iMesage turned off they wont get my message and if I have my iMessage turned on and I send to someone with and android they wont get my message either. It's like it can't figure out if it's and iMessage or a normal text. I have it set to send as SMS when iMessage is unavailbe but it doesnt sent as a text message.
So at this point I wont be ablet to get my messages from both iMessges and SMS..
Anyone else have this problems.

Problems with texting and calling

Hi!
I have a problem with my phone, I just got it 2:nd hand so I do not know if it worked properly earlier.
I can't call anyone, the phone just disconnects and says "beep beep beep".
People calling me goes straight to voicemail.
I can not send or receive test messages unless it is iMessage.
3G data traffic works properly though, any thoughts? I have restored the entire phone 2 times and the network settings 2 times and it is still the same problem. When I tried to use the SIM-card on my old phone (android) it works as espected.

Your second-hand phone may have been hacked or jailbroken before you got it. Ask the person you bought it from.

Login problems with facetime and Imessage

I have IPAD 2 upgraded to IOS 6.0. I am living at Alexandria EGYPT.
I didn't face any problem with both apps until the 2nd of October 2012. Since then and both apps telling me that Apple ID doesn't match with the entered password. The same password is used for app store and working with no problem, the password have been used even to log in to the support as well as Icloud.
I have tried the following actions with no result:
1- Soft reset the IPAD.
2- Time is set to automatic.
3- Set the time to USA.
4- Time set back to auto.
5- Connect using different WiFi networks.
I hope I can find a solution, I am using both apps to keep in touch with my family.

I did a total reset and start the IPAD as a new one before restore...same problem exist
after restore try again and with the same problem...
Finally I have created a new apple ID and used it only for facetime and imessages...and it works....
I can't really understand the problem....
It is not a problem with communication or IPAD settings because it worked with another apple ID
it is not a problem with server or account because I am still using my old ID with my macbook

Strange! Try to remove the battery from the phone for a while and then try again. You can also start your phone in safe mode to see if the problem may be related to any 3rd party apps installed in your phone:

10.5.5 update problems with firewall and permissions

Hello, I have a small office (4 people) with one server that has both leopard server (standard install) and filemaker server installed on it. I'm hosting our website, running ical services, file sharing and Firewall. I avoided doing any updates because everything was working well and I didn't want it to get screwed up. Well our website was hacked into so I went ahead and ran the combined update and restarted. Everything booted up fine and is working with the exception of Filemaker Server database access and webdav access to our site folder.
The Filemaker access is a firewall issue but I'm not sure about how to proceed. In order to open the appropriate port it seems I need to use server admin (instead of server prefs) and run the firewall from there. If I allow the Filemaker server service for "Any" doesn't that leave me vulnerable from the outside? if so how would I go about allowing it only to the internal file services?
For the webdav services when using Dreamweaver to upload files to our server I receive a permissions error not allowing me to upload any files. I have repaired permissions and still get the same error. My question is 2 part:
Any ideas on what to do about the permissions?
Would it be more secure to turn off webdav and create a share point ( I am local ) for the site folder with "others" read only privileges and my web designer read and write privileges?
If I continue to use webdav should I secure the folder using realms and give "Everyone" browse only privileges and my web designer Browse and Read/wright privileges?

Using the battery level meter in this manner is comparable to using your car's fuel gauge to calculate miles per gallon. The only thing that matters is the total amount of operating time from full charge to auto-shutdown.

Elsewhere, Apple elaborates and explains that two half-discharges (or four quarter-discharges, etc.) equals one full discharge.

T420 - Installed updates - problems with OSD and UltraNav

I have just reveived my T420 and installed all updates - first MS Winows 7, then Lenovo. The effect is that...
OSD is not working (I did not find any setting that would turn it on/off)
Ultranav middle button works like any mouse middle button - previously I used it for scroling, now it is just a normal mouse button
I cannot use mouse settings in windows. When I try to enter them, windows asks me to unsintall Synaptic driver for some reason. Then mouse setting window appears, but it is frozen.
Anybody had simillar problems?

The OSD-problem appears very often the last days after running System Update.
Install the hotkey-features manually
If Ultranav still does problems then remove it from Control panel - Programs and functions and install it again manually.

IOS5 update problems with iphone and ipad

I first tried to update my iphone 4, with zero success. All software updated on my macbook pro, then when i began to update the iphone, i got stuck on "contacting iphone activation server". I can still manage my iphone and eject it, but no update. This was yesterday and 24 hours later whenver i turn on my ituens, it still says "contacting iphone activation server". iTunes is mostly functional still, but it won't connect to the iTunes store. Next I tried my iPad (1) which successfully updated, but even though I synced from a backup to iTunes, none of my apps or data is on the iPad other than my email. Now when I plug in my iPad I cannot manually manage it. The screen in iTunes when I click my iPad is just a grey screen that says iPad. No info, or buttons to choose manual or automatic update. And the iTunes bar at the top still says "accessing iTunes store", "contacting iphone activation server" and also "genius accessing iTunes store". I get that I'm obviously not connnecting to sites, but why is my ipad not responding in iTunes? I dont think that being connected to iTunes is that important to managing your iPad since I've done it several times with no internet connection.
Please help! I really dont want to have to email myself all of my documents that I want on my iPad, or try to sync them over my webdav.

I found a bit of a work around that is working for me, strange but it works.
Adding the photo album sub folders 1 at a time and syncing. Then when it completes, add another one, confirm the pics are there and continue process. I now have over 35k photos and no gaps or empty albums but if I do more than 2 or 3 they show up empty.
If empty, unsync them, and add 1 at a time.

10.4.6 update problems with isync and idisk, and shutting down.

I downloaded the 10.4.6 update and my Idisk no longer mounts automatically after logging in. I can make it mount if I do a search for it, and then double click on the icon. Once it does mount, it will not sync when I add new files to it.
I have repaired permissions a couple of times, but it still doesn't work. I also can't shut down until I see an error message about "mirror agent". What should I do?

Problems with ios7 and imessage

Since I upgraded to ios7 my wife stopped receiving my texts. it was suggested that we turn off imessage which we did and it seemed to work. now today I am trying to text her and the first message went out in green, the next message went out in blue and said delivered. The next two texts have gone out in green and i dont think that she has received them.
Any ideas please?

Strange Problems With Display and Permissions Since 10.5.1 update.

Since I've done the 10.5.1 update I have been having a strange problem with my desktop and dock displays. On my desktop I have these strange lines that appear any time I log in or open any application, the lines never go away and change locations on the screen once I open an application or move a window. My dock has the reflective shelf for about half of it, the rest is a dull grey. I've also had problems with verifying and repairing my permissions. I can never actually complete either permissions task. I've used some third party apps, they always fail as well. The only time I can actually repair my permissions is by booting in to single user mode and doing a fsck -f command. When I boot back in to Leopard and try to use the Disk Utility to repair, it continues to fail.
I'm not sure if the video problem I am having stems from a permissions issue or possibly a corrupt video driver. Either way, I've done a lot research and haven't found anyone with the same problems I have been having so I thought I would give these forums a shot.
I am using a PowerMac G4 Quicksilver with dual 800Mhz, 1.5gb RAM, and a GeForce4 Ti 4600 128mb video card.

If anyone could lend some light on this issue, I would greatly appreciate it.
