IOS 7 exchange server problems solution with iPhone 5

Hi, after big troubles after IOS 7 update on my iphone 5 to receive and send emails I found my own simple but stupid solution.
In "mail, contact, calender" you click onto your account name and click "mail synchronisation". IMPORTANT: the choice must not
be more than 3 days. If more than 3 days like " 1 month" it won't work anymore.
Very strange. Good luck.

..-:) My individual issue refers only to the iphone 5 user , who have of course problems with emails and their exchange server. Mine also worked fine in "unlimited", but only under IOS 6. Since iOS 7 update it was not possible anmyore.

    Hi,
From your description, you have deployed Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 and Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 in a co-existence environment. After you upgrade to CU6, databases unexpectedly shut down. In your case, here is a kb for your reference.

Is iOs 7.0.4 work fine with iphone 4?

I thought it was OK on my iPhone 4 but there have been an unusually high number who felt it was slower. I've seen reports from beta users of 7.1 who report it is faster so you may want to wait for that release.

  • Mail sync with exchange server problem

I started using Apple last year but have a problem with syncing to my exchange server. My iPhone, iPad and MacBook Air all sync fine but Mail on my iMac will only sync up to 20/08/2013.
The MacBook Air runs 10.9.1 and Mail v7.1 and syncs my exchange and IMAP mail perfectly.
The iMac runs 10.9.1 and Mail v7.1 and syncs my IMAP mail accounts fine but will not sync beyond 20/08/2013.  I have tried deleting the account but keep getting messages that this will delete the account from my Macbook as they are linked via icloud.  I can disable the account on the iMac but cant see how to delete it then.
There are posts about deleting mail caches but I dont know which files these are.
    Can you help please?

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
Make sure that you have enabled auto sync under settings > auto sync and under email > menu button > settings > your account > synchronize email.
If the settings is correct, you could try with another email client from Google Play to see if you experience any difference behavior.

  • Mail with exchange server problem.

I keep getting a connection failed message asking me to chdeck the settings for my exchange account. I've done this many times and even managed to talk our administrator into checking the settings.
The error message contains the information that the host xxxx server on port 143 failed. This port may be incorrect, but how do I chage it?
I have managed to sync with my exchange account and all messages seem present, just can't send or recieve from mail, via exchange server.
    suggestions?????/

I think the problem of intermittent connections to the mail server is that it may be caused by OSX's firewall, so what I did was to go to System preferences>sharing>Firewall, I opted for a New port, I selected "other" and named it Mail and under the TCP port number I input 25 or you may input whatever you use (ssl requires a different number) or you may do several to cover all the accounts and name them mail2, mail3 etc. if you are wondering what UDP is, its the following: is a connectionless protocol that, like TCP, runs on top of IP networks. Unlike TCP/IP, UDP/IP provides very few error recovery services, offering instead a direct way to send and receive datagrams over an IP network. It's used primarily for broadcasting messages over a network, in other words if you are not sure avoid inputing a number here. So far Im trying it out for stability, I have read many articles and the solution may be as simple as this, its easy to try and non permanent, any one trying this solution please post any experiences. Thanks

  • Exchange Server problem with Tiger's Mail

I've run into a Mail problem as I'm switching over from 10.3.9 to 10.4.5. I've currently got the two systems running on different partitions on my G4 PowerBook. Everything works fine in 10.3.9. But when using the same settings in 10.4.5 I get the error:
"The server error encountered was: The server "xxxxx-exchange" refused to allow a connection on port 143."
But I'm using port 143 in the Mail app in 10.3.9. What could have changed?
My IT people are of no help, because they want us to use only the web interface and keep all messages on the server. Did anything change between Mail 1.3.11 and Mail 2.0 that would prevent the same setttings from working on the same mail server? I can bounce back to the 10.3.9 partition and mail works fine.
    Thanks!

I asked this very thing here and got no answer, but it's good to see that it's not just me. I had Tiger Mail working for a few days. Then our IS dept. did some security updates to the Exchange server and that's when everything died. I get the same error you're getting, and I'm in the same boat as our IS people simply don't understand Macs enough to be of any help.
Anyone out there have any ideas? I've had to resort to installing and using Entourage which works but is a piece of junk. I'd be happy to go back to Mail if it would work.

  • Microsoft Exchange Server Problem

I successfully added our Company email on my I-Pad using the Microsoft Exchange function. My boss has the 3G WI-FI I-Pad and I absolutely cannot get it to work for him. I'm doing exactly the same thing I did for mine, but without success. Could there be a problem with the 3G Wi-Fi model or does anyone have any suggestions? I've tried everything I can find but it keeps giving me the "unable to verify account" message. Any ideas anyone?

For what little it's worth, I have a 3G iPad and had no problems connecting it to our Exchange server, so it's not a blanket problem with the 3G model. I did the setup over a WiFi connection, though, not 3G; if you're attempting to do the setup via a 3G connection, you might try it over WiFi instead.
Also, if your boss's iPad isn't on the latest (3.2.2) version of the iPad iOS, update and then try the setup again. Exchange fixes were part of the last couple of updates, if memory serves.
    Regards.

  • Server error message with iPhone

I am getting a server unavailable message when trying to access email on yahoo. My iPhone won't let me add account. It has been working fine so far. Have been having a similar problem recently with my iPad. Have tried deleting an re adding acct and restarting phone. Anyone else had this problem?

Seems to be an Exchange 2010 issue: http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2010/09/01/3410888.aspx

  • Outlook connection to exchange server problem

We have a new domain and an existing exchange server. The problem is if i log in with a local computer account i can autodiscover and connect in cached mode to exchange no problem. If i then login with a domain user account the same computer (tried on other
workstations) will fail to auto discover, fail to connect to exchange even with manual settings. I cant find anything obvious in Group policy.
The server is setup with the latest 2013 Group policy templates with office 2013 templates
Users not logged in with the new AD server can connect to exchange
Users not logged into the domain can access exchange server
My feeling is its a local setting that is missing or needs to be changed in Group Policy but i am at a loss as to what it could be
I have disabled roaming profiles too and it makes no difference.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Steve

    Hi,
Sorry for my delay. According to your description, I summarize your issue to the following points:
    1. No problem when the user logs in Outlook with a local computer account in Cached mode.
    2. Can’t connect to Exchange from an cache mode enabled Outlook 2013 client when using a domain user account on the same computer automatically or manually.
    3. Can connect to Exchange from an online mode enabled Outlook 2013 client when using a domain user account on the same computer automatically or manually.
It is right? If I misunderstand, please feel free to point it out. Additionally, I noticed that the server is setup with the latest 2013 Group policy templates with office 2013 templates. Please confirm
if the Outlook cache mode is disabled by OTC or GPO. If there is following registry key applied on the machine:
    Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Cached Mode
Meanwhile, please try to install an Outlook 2013 with a fresh ISO file(Don’t use any template such as OCT template), see if the Cached mode Outlook can connect to Exchange server.
    Waiting for your updates.

  • Mail.app and Exchange Server Problems?

I am an Apple Mail user and my university just switched to an Exchange Server 2003 for student e-mail. The university is only supporting Entourage, but I have configured Mail to work with Exchange without any major problem. This week, I have noticed that I have a problem where Mail.app will say that I have four new e-mails in my Exchange in-box. When I click on my Exchange in-box, no new e-mail appears. After experiencing this problem for about a week, I finally logged onto our Exchange web access site for the university. I discovered that I did indeed have four new e-mails in my in-box, but these e-mails were not showing up in Mail.app. Interestingly, all of the e-mails were undeliverable e-mails that had popped back because I had the wrong address. I am wondering why these e-mails would show up in on web access, but not show up in Mail.app.
I have spoken with our university tech. support numerous times and they have been unable to figure out the problem. It seems this may be a Mail.app isse as opposed to an Exchange problem.
    Thanks,
    Joe Biedlingmaier

I use Exchange at work and have 5 Macs working with it w/o problems. The trick is to correctly specify SMPT and Outlook Web Access Server.
    Do the following:
When you create a new mail account, choose IMAP or Exchange (if it shows on the list)
for Email Address specify your exchange email address
    continue
for Incoming Mail Server: use name of the server without any prefixes such as mail. (The example shown under the box is wrong. It took me forever to figure it out)
for username and password use the same one you use when log in into exchange webmail
    continue
for outgoing email server use the name of the server, again without smtp.
you may need to use authentification in order to send mail. In that case use the same user and password as when you log into your exchange
I was doing it as I was writing this to make sure it workes. It does.

  • N8 Exchange Server Problems

I've recently got my N8 and have successfully configured the email for my private account (Virgin) but can not get my business exchange setting to work.
I also have an E72 which works well, so I've copied the settings, the problem is you can not set the server name. There is no field to enter it when setting up the exchange settings. It is displayed on the the mailbox settings screen but  it can not be changed.
    Help please

OK, this is very strange, my home G5 can log into the exchange server over VPN using the Mac mail client, however my powerbook with the exact same settings gets the error that ithe server doesn't recognize my user name or password. The two computers are set up exactly the same...
Is there a file I need to delete when I delete the old exchange account that is somehow corrupt, I have already deteled my keychain and rebuilt it....
