IOS 7 iMessage and FaceTime unable to activate

Every since the upgrade I have not been able o uset iMessage or FaceTime. They are both turned on both indicates needs activation and prompts me to enter Apple ID. However, no matter how many times I try to utilize this function it states iMessage activity ion could not sign in. Please check network connection and try again. This has been the message since I upgrades on last week. Tech support had the nerves to tell me he sang sure what I should do to wait a few days and try again that apples serves might be busy. Help

To activate you need to be able to send SMS and in some cases that is an international SMS. The SMS is hidden and goes to a numbe rin the UK starting with +44. Are you able to send international SMS? Check with your carrier. Read http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4268

I just activated a new iphone 4s and restored from a backup of my former iphone 3gs - had the same problem - Waiting for Activation on both facetime and imessage. I tried all the usual fixes, reset all, hard reset, turn facetime/imessage on and off, and on and on. 2 hours on phone with tech support to no avail.
I just found the fix on my own - no clue if it will work for everyone. But it's ridiculously easy and worth a shot so you don't waste hours and hours resetting/synching as I did.
All I did was go into settings>phone>my number - erase it by touching the ">". Then re-enter it making sure to input with the "+" and country code. For example in the US: +1(508) 569-9901
No hard reset necessary. I went into settings>facetime and imessage, immediately after inputting my phone number again and the dreaded "waiting for activation" message was gone. I tested sending a message - came thru to the other party fine and facetiming another device (my mom's ipad some distance away) and it rang thru with everything working properly i.e., video/audio.

HT5934 after downloading iso7 my imessage and FaceTime will not activate. it says to sign in with apple id then after trying to do that imassage says could not sign in please check network connection. i need message!! can anyone help?

So you have no cellular service but are on Wi-Fi yet iMessage and Facetime are waiting for activation.

Yes, that's why. You must take the machine to an Apple Store or another authorized service provider to have the problem corrected.

I own an iPhone 4s and recently updated my phone to iOS 8. Before, I was able to freely iMessage and FaceTime people without any problems. go to settings, general, reset, reset all settings. this causes the phone to reset and finishes installing certain iOS 8 features and should fix any glitches you're having. i have not met someone yet where this did not work.

IOS 8 iMessage and FaceTime "Waiting for Activation"

I just upgraded my iPhone 5 and iPad to iOS 8 and now I can't get my iMessage and FaceTime to work. When I try to send messages (sms or iMessage) from my phone I get a "Not Delivered" message. I've tried resetting my network settings, I've also messed with toggling on and off the iMessage and FaceTime buttons in settings, and I've also tried setting up my iMessage and FaceTime when on wifi, airplane mode (with wifi) and using my cellular network.
Even though my phone is not registering these changes, I'm getting a popup message on my laptop saying "Email Addresses Added to 'iPhone,'" so it seems like the laptop is recognizing that I'm getting hooked up to iMessage but my phone just work. Anyone else having iMessage or FaceTime problems? do I need to downgrade back to iOs 7?

If you still got this issue, I just solved it on my wife's 5s. After reading a different blog that suggested turning off FT from the Phone settings and then reset. But my wife's phone didn't even had the FT option under settings > Phone so I just did step 2 and it worked.
Step 1) Goto: Settings > FaceTime and turn off
Step 2) Goto: Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
After the phone has restarted, search for FaceTime and have fun.
Remember that apple would prefer you are connected to a WIFI source.

Got my iPhone 5 unlocked from England but I'm sure what it was locked to though. I'm from a Caribbean country and when I try to activate them they take my calling credit but do not activate. It keeps telling me activation unsuccessful. I've tried every option possible like signing out and signing in again, tried activating them through wifi with airplane mode on, tried to restore the phone but nothing works.

Hi guys.
Here's the story.
I had an Unlocked iPhone 4, bought in Brazil and using a brazilian carrier, till recently, and both iMessage and Facetime worked normally, using my apple ID or my phone number.
After I was robbed, I got an iPhone 4S, factory unlocked, bought in the United States, and started using it with my brazilian carrier sim.
I restored my iPhone 4 backup, to maintain all my notes, calendar, photos, etc.
But now I noticed that facetime and imessage are not working with my phone number. They just keep shoping the message "Waiting for activation" or something like that, with my phone status as "Verifying".
I tried removing and re-inserting the sim, rebooting the phone, activating and deactivating imessage and facetime, but they just won't verify my number...
Also, when I check my phone on iTunes, the "Phone Number" field states "N/A". With my former phone the number would show on the iTunes screen.
Can someone help me? I am running on iOS 5.0.1., no jailbreak and using my brazilian Apple ID.
Hope someone can help, I tried several online tutorials, such as the timezone one, or the DNS router, and none worked.
