Ios 7 wifi issues with iphone 5 and iphone 4s

I downloaded and installed ios 7 on 3 iphones and an ipad on Thursday. initially after install all devices wouldn't connect to my homes wifi (but other devices in the home are connected and can access the internet with no issue)  I rebooted each device and was able to connect problem soved. WRONG  this has been an on going issue, most of the time my devices wont even see my wifi network and when they do, I still can't connect.  I have reset wifi settings, I have double checked passwords, I have rebooted the IOS devices and rebooted the router (which was likely not needed as my 2 apple tv's, windows 7 laptop, windows 8 laptop and 2 imacs all are connected with no problem as wel as my ps3, and sony smart tv.
So, 1) is anyone else experiencing this issue 2) have you found a way to resolve the issue 3) has anyone gotten a response from apple support i.e. is this s known issue and are they working on an update to resolve.
I guess my gut instinct to wait a few weeks to install ios was right and I should have listened to my gut
Thanks, any help would be appreciated.

I agree, Bluetooth is rubbish since 4.2 The phone won't connect properly with my carkit Parrot ck3000 evolution, when the iPhone 4 connects to the the carkit it resets the volume on the carkit to minimum volume. so every time you get in the car you have to manually set the volume!. fix this Apple and when your at it fix the wifi reception on it too its woeful! For all the mouthing Apple does on their features on the phone, it's pretty weak as a phone!

  • WiFi issues with iPhone 4S & ios 6 update

    Okay here is my issue...
I've been reading alot of issues that people have with connecting to WiFi with their new iPhone 5, iPhone 4S or other devices but I have no trouble connecting to WiFi at all. My problem is that WiFi wont 'work'. The WiFi I'm hooked up to at home doesn't let me do basically anything that requires internet.
I can get on the Facebook app fine and my newsfeed loads but I can't see Facebook notifications, upload photos or videos, read inboxes, look at photos, its very slow etc.
I can't get into the App Store or iTunes at all. It says it 'Cannot Connect to iTunes Store' when I try.
I can't upload photos onto Instagram
Currently I'm into the Simpsons Tapped Out game and I can't go onto it at all.
And there are a few other minor issues I am having.
All these things I can do with my Telstra 3G network however and it ***** because I want to use and do all these things but I have to use my 3G and I've just recently gone over my data monthly usage and been charged extra which I'm not happy about.
So is anyone else having these issues or is it just me and I'm stuffed? I'd REALLY love some help.
I've been lost with what to do because as some are having WiFi issues as well, mine isnt the same and it's hard to find answers or just other discussions.
    Please Help!
    Thankyou.

I am having the same issue since updating to iOS 6.  It has been noticeable on my iPhone 4S and a little less noticeable on my iPad 3 but I think it is happening on the iPad too.  Very annoying problem.  One way to get it to work better is to re-boot your phone.  It will work for awhile then and then eventually not be working anymore and you will need to re-boot again.
Just to be clear with everyone - the iPhone looks like it is connected to the wireless, it gets an IP address but can't transmit any data.  Device:  iPhone 4S, OS:  iOS6

  • Wifi issues with iPhone 4s/iOS7

The wifi on my iPhone 4s is not working properly. It will connect to the wifi network (full strength), but when going to a website the "progress" bar will load about 10% and then just freeze. Websites, Twitter, Facebook, none of them will load over wifi. And because it shows that it's connected to a wifi network, it won't access the cellular data to complete the download. I've tried powering off/on the phone, airplane mode, bluetooth on/off, wifi on/off, and I've successfully connected the phone to two separate networks (one at work and one at home), but cannot get any wifi data. Both networks are functional, confirmed via Kindle FIre and laptop, so unless I'm dealing with two separate routers that all of a sudden decided to block iPhone access, there's something wrong with my iPhone. I did the iOS7 upgrade when it went live, so it's not a new update (currently on iOS 7.0.4). Anybody else run into an issue like this? Any thoughts out there? Thanks in advance.

  • Wifi issues with iphone not responding

    Phone: iPhone 4s.
This issue started approximately two weeks ago. My phone initially started with the Wifi connection greyed out, I followed the appropriate steps to resolve this issue, and was successful. Now I can turn the wifi connection on without problems, but my iPhone will freeze (delay), then return me to my homescreen. Occasionally I do automatically connect to my known wifi, but then will disconnect and return to 3G. If I make an attempt to go to settings to manually reconnect, the phone again freezes. The phone seems to freeze after I click settings, then when pressing Wi-Fi, the bar turns dark bold, but freezes and doesn't open. I then have to click my home button, return to the main menu. Also if I open an app during the seldom opportunity my phone is connected to wifi, the phone will disconnect, return to 3G and freeze. I have rebooted my routers, forgot networks, reset network settings. I have thought about resetting the entire phone, but my phone will not stay connected to wifi long enough for me to back up my data to iCloud. I am thinking of stopping into my local verizon store, but I think they will redirect me to an apple store; which is 35 miles away. Of course the problem with me not connecting to Wi-Fi is my increased use of data. Now I am over 75% for my monthly usage with 2 weeks remaining, and do not see justification in possibly having to pay the overage fee. Many times when my phone freezes due to these wifi issues, or will not respond, I have to do the manual power/home reset. In conclusion, I need to figure out how to maintain my connection to Wi-fi, and stop my phone from not responding when I open my wifi settings. Thanks in advance!

My Iphone 4S is doing the same thing..  All of a sudden the WIFI button is gray and not working.  I chatted online with a Rep.  He had me call *228 and hit option 1, then call again and hit option 2.  All of a sudden the WIFI button was black.  But it could not find any network.  I shut it off and restarted it and now button gray again.  I called that number again and still gray.  I read somewhere else that a lot of people have a problem with the WIFI button.  They say it basically just stops working.  This was a replacement phone because the volume stopped working on my original phone.  I assume they gave me a refurbished one because it didn't seem new.   I'm due an upgrade in 3 months.   I'm disabled and just hate driving to the store again.  I wish there was an easier way.

  • IOS 6 battery issue with iphone 4s

My Battery is getting low in drastically

Good to see others have the same problem...  I started with 65% this mornig at 7 am - now, after some whatsapp and aprox. 5(!) minutes of gaiming I'm down to 36% at 10 am...  what's going on?
Under iOS 5 I could use it more than a day including calls, whtasapp, safari, etc etc
I already used some tips&tricks, reseted the phone - nothing helped.
    Have the 4S
I'm really a fan of Apple Products - but this aongoing battery issues with my iPhone are daisappointing me more and more... I do not want to turn of all the services that make the iPhone what it is - otherwise I could use my 6 year old HTC or something....

  • Wifi Issue With iPhone 4

I have 2 iPhone 4's (one for work one for personal use) and both are having the same issue.  Neither one will connect to my home wifi.  They used to both be connected with no problems and then within the last week or so I noticed that they weren't connected. When I go in and choose my wifi, I get an error saying unable to connect.  I have tried re-setting my phone, restarting the router, re-setting the network, nothing works.  I did the latest update (7.1) and my wii worked or maybe 5 minutes and then turned off again.  Please help!  I use my work phone all day and I need to access my wifi.

Can other devices connect? Check this first to determine if the problem is with the signal, not the phones.
Next check the phones with another wi-fi (i.e. the café down te street).
Let us know what the outcome is.

  • IOS 6.1.2 WIFI Issue with Iphone 4s

SInce I updated my phone to ios 6.1.2 my wifi gets dropped or the button itself gets greyed out. I dont know what to do. Shuld wait for ios 6.1.3 or what?
This is the first time i am facing such an issue.  Apple customer care is also not able to solve the issue? Why every now and then this happens with apple device ?
Does apple takes its users for granted by releasing its software without having proper checks?
However it is quite surprising to know that my Ipad 4th Generation is working fine with 6.1.2. software.
Please help if anyone knows the solution.

Go to settings, reset, reset network settings. As the other suggestion said.
If its greyed out here is a link below.

  • Broadcast and non-broadcast SSID issues with iPhones and iPads

We have a CIsco wireless infrastructure configured with a public broadcasted ssid and a private non-broadcast ssid that we are experiencing issues with the iPads and iPhones.  The iPad or iPhone will switch between both ssids if defined but keep the original IP address when it switches to the non-broadcast ssid making it unusable.  It shouldn't be switching at all technically.  If the non-broadcast ssid is defined only on the iPhone or iPad, the broadcast ssid pops up and starts asking for authentication information.  I have Cisco looking into this but I'm quite sure this is an Apple bug. Any other device works fine.  We are currently using version 4.3.5(8L2) on the iPads and iPhones.  I do know that if we broadcast both SSIDS, the issue goes away, but I don't want to do that.  Although it doesn't really add any more security, it just isn't advertised, so most people won't see it and avoids a lot of questions. Hopefully there's a simple solution.
    Any ideas apple guys?
Also how does one open an actual trouble ticket with apple?

Did you solve this?  Settings\Wifi\Askto join networks - OFF

  • I cannot get decent reception on my 4s from Sprint.  I understand there is a known WiFi issue with the 4s as well as antenna issues.  Is this true and is it resoved in the 5 series?

I cannot get decent reception on my 4s from Sprint.  I understand there is a known WiFi issue with the 4s as well as antenna issues.  Is this true and is it resoved in the 5 series?

I am aware that Sprint has network issues. I have learned that Apple does have reception issues with the 4s.  The 5 series has more antenna area and a different protocol. I have owned at least 6 iPhones personally and over 30 as a company.  The 4s is junk. Apple's attitude toward customer service is much more of a problem than Sprint's network.  Apple sent me your non-answer to my questions instead of anything real. I asked about the iPhone, not about Sprint.

  • My itunes account shuts down for no reason.  It wont recognize my iphone and there is an issue with network connectivity and itunes.  I have already  reinstalled itunes and did a syste restore on my computer, firewall checked and virus scan done.  Ideas??

My itunes account on windows xp shuts down for no reason.  If even try to delete something from my library it shuts down.   It wont recognize my iphone and there is an issue with network connectivity and I can't connect to the store.  I have already  reinstalled itunes and did a system restore on my computer, firewall has been checked, itunes is ok on firewall and virus scan done.  Ideas??

Same problem. I can see the itunes store so not a problem with windows firewall. The account is active on my iphone so i know i am not locked out. I can connect the PC to my iphone so i know itunes is working ok. It is just logging into itunes on this pc which doesn't work. Only thing I can think of is that the email address I use for my apple id has been offline for a while and is working again now, I'm wondering whether this has been the case for others who are having this issue?

Have a MacBook Pro running 10.5.8 Leopard.  Can I just download 10.6.8 Snow Leopard so I can wifi sync with iPhone and iPad?

    To expand on Niels post...
First you need to check that your current Mac meets the System Requirements for Snow Leopard...
    Snow Leopard Specs:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
If it does... then you need to Purchase and Install the Snow Leopard Disc,
Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard
( It should be noted that Apple will send paid MobileMe members the Mac OS X 10.6 DVD for free.)

  • Pioneer AVH-P1400DVD Compatibility Issue with iPhone 5

I have a Pioneer AVH-P1400DVD double-din receiver in my truck, that I've had for 2+ years now and shortly after I purchased it, T-Mobile finally started selling iPhones on their network, so I bought an iPhone 5. Well as many know, they're said to be compatible, and I can say, for at least a year and a half I never had any compatibility issues until recently.
After the iPhone 6 & 6 plus, as well as the iOS 8 launching, about 2 months later I realized that the constant unnecessary updates started taking away the compatibility between my head unit in my truck and my iPhone 5. Also, before the updates, I had no problem using a 3rd party 8-pin lightening charger/sync cable in my truck, which was much more durable than the lightening cable that Apple overcharges for, because it was double in thickness. Although the 3rd party cable I was using cost as much as the Apple 2ml cable, it wasn't too long and wasn't nearly as flimsy as the Apple 1ml.
I've researched a solution to my problem and haven't come up with anything, so my question is:
Does anybody know what the **** to do about the compatibility issues we're having? I, as well as many others, have spent entirely too much money for something that is said to work, something that did work, but now does work efficiently. For as expensive as these **** phones are and as expensive as the head units or any other electronic that is "compatible", there should be no reason for any change to the products after the initial purchase in regards to features of any sort.
    WHAT IS THE FIX????????

Re: Anyone still having IOS 6 wifi issues?
created by mpa9366 in Using iPad - View the full discussion
Having done a lot of reading today and having found a very good online tablet magazine (will post link tomorrow) there seems to be a few tech bods onto the problem.
The magazine I was reading identified wifi problems within hours of the ios 6 release and have been analysing since then with almost daily updates - the story seems to be:
The apple authenthication transmission is normal, it should slip through event prior to a full handshake with the host network being completed - however if not authenthicated then apple will not permit the device to connect (kills the connection) this is designed to protect apple from counterfeiting. So thats problem 1 if you dont receive a token from apple.
Problem 2 is that ios 6 only supports ipv6 (the new ip protocol) whereas outside silicon valley a large proportion of routers modems etc are still ipv4 protocol.
So youre locked into ipv6 in a world where ipv4 devices are everywhere and apple have not allowed for the ability to handle both protocols. This is like GM telling you your car requires an upgrade, everything will improve etc and as part of the upgrade fits a fuel cell motor and stays silent when their upgraded vehicles are simply parked up because they cannot get fuel.
A very basic expectation would have been dual protocol handling - we know the HW supports ipv4 as all wad fine on ios5.
So its going to be hit and miss with networks - more hit than miss in techy areas like silicon valley, but more miss in places like where I am - a small town in rural Switzerland.
Only apple can fix this with a patch to enable ipv4 protocol handling.
There you go. you just need to buy a new router, I'm sure Apple has one for sale, cause it's not there fault for sure.
Wonder why people start to migrate to other devices ?
