IOS 8.1 Photos and/or Messages cursor issue

I select a photo within the Photos app on my iPhone 5s or my iPad2
Then click the little 'share arrow' and choose Messages app as the sharing method
The photo selected does show up in the Messages 'message composition' window
However the cursor, instead of being to the right of "To:" shows up to the left of "To:". Happens every time.
Submitted to Apple as a bug however I am open to ideas to fix the issue.

I just replied on a similar thread. I also have this issue. When I either compose a new message or text a photo, my cursor is to the left of the "To:" field, but types in the appropriate area and sends without problems. It doesn't seem to affect texting capabilities, but it is annoying that the cursor is not perfectly aligned after the "To:" field.
I tried quitting the text application by swiping out of range, and resetting my device but to no avail. I called Apple Support and am expecting a call back from them in a few hours, when it is more convenient for me to have them try to isolate the problem.
It appears that others are having the same issue. It seems that whenever a new software update is downloaded, more problems or problems where there were none occur.

You don't, unless you have a backup of that device. If you have a backup of that device when the photos and messages were on it, then you would need some 3rd party software to examine the bakups.

So, I backed up my iphone 4. Set up my iphone 5, pressed sync and it did its job. However, its seems to have synced everything except my photos and text messages. Basically the most things I use on my phone! You do not sync text messages.
Did you restore the iPhone 5 from a backup of your old phone?
If not, do so to put everything back. This is assuming you want/need you sms messages.
Pictures should already be on the computer, then they can be synced to the device.

Lost all my photos and txt messages during last update- HELP PLEASE

During the last IPhone update my phone went into restore mode and when it recovered all my photos, videos, and txt messages were gone. I went to restore through old ITunes restore points, but they were gone too- all I have is one from 2011 and the one with nothing on it, and I have synced my phone hundreds of times since 2011. Is there anything I can do? I have a Mac, could I use Time Machine to go back to an old date, and possibly the ITunes restore points will be there? Any help will be much appreciated!!!

Did you fail to backup the device prior to attempting the update? If so, any content between the last backup and when the update apparently failed will be gone.
If the device has been used as designed, contact would be synced to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service. Simply sync them back.
Pictures and videos taken with the device are designed to be copied to a computer regularly. Only a fool would expect a device so easily lost/stolen or damaged to be sole storage of their "important" pictures.

After updating to iOS 8 lost photos and phone hangs frequently 5-6 times a day n have to restart. What a headache!

If you have backup the photos, you can get them up by restoring.
At present, iOS 8.0.0 and iOS 8.0.1 have many issues, you can wait until Apple solve it or downgrade to iOS 7.

When I opened Itunes and connected my new phone...it said I can't sync my photos because I needed to update my itunes...but I have the most recent updated version of itunes on my computer..I checked. Can anyone help?

Will syncing my iPhone 4 to a new computer erase all of my photos and text messages?

I recently got a new laptop and didn't transfer my iTunes over from the old one. Now if I sync my iPhone to the new iTunes library, I'm afraid all of my pictures and text messages will be deleted. I don't care if my apps and music are deleted, I can redownload them. I just need to know will my pictures and messages be gone as well?

Help with Touch photo and movie copy/paste issues

I recently moved all of my photos and movies from my Touch to a USB drive, and now I want to put them back but the Touch won't let me - how do I replace them?? My ultimate destination for the files is the Cloud, which I've just loaded.

It sounds like the poster tried to paste the photos into the DCIM folder in My Computer since that is how you can get photos taken by or saved to the iPod into your computer. However the reverse does not work for moving photos from computer to iPod.

IPad2 and iPhone4 upgrade to iOS 5.0.1 and iCloud-- duplicate app issues

I upgraded my MacBook Pro to lion a while back (have had lots of problems ever since, but that's another story). Recently synced and upgraded my iPad 2 and iPhone 4 to iOS 5.0.1 and iCloud. This has resulted in some of my apps on both devices seeming to have duplicates. How can I determine if these are true duplicates and which can be eliminated? How do I get rid of apps I don't want?

The easiest way is in iTunes.
In your iTunes Library, clickApps on the left hand side. That'll give you the full list, so the first thing you can see is whether you have duplicates in iTunes. I suggest you show the Version and release Date columns (right click a column header and choose them from the list) so you can see whether you have multiple versions.
If you have 2 the same, one might be for iPad and one for iPhone - not all apps are Universal.
Once you're happy that list is straight, connect the devices to iTunes, go to the Apps tab for each device, and uncheck the ones you don't want on that device

Photo to messages cursor issue

Hi,
Just updating to iOS 8 on my iPhone 5 (yes, some regrets) and I've noticed this odd little issue. If I take a picture and select it for a message the cursor for the To: field is to the left of the T or not to the right of the : as you would expect. | To: is how it looks, not To: | . Also, this only seems to occur for new photos, not photos that were taken a few minutes ago.
I'm not sure if others have had this issue, it isn't a problem as when text is entered the cursor goes to the right spot, it's just one of those little things that doesn't look great for a big rollout.

I accidently synced my phone to my dads itunes account, so when he went to 'backup' his phone, he got all of my photos and text messages. How do I get his text messages and photos back?

When I first got an iPhone, I didnt have my own iTunes account. So in turn i used my Dads. Well being unaware of what i was doing, I synced my iPhone to his account. Well a couple of months ago, i started using my moms apple ID to buy things in the app store, and i started recieving her text messages. Now my dad, has plugged his phone into his itunes account and has synced it and has all of my photos, his contacts are still there, but he has all of my apps, all of my text messages and has all of my photos. What can i do to get his things back? And stop getting my moms text messages. I really would like some help on this please Thanks!!!

Does your father have a recent backup of his phone? If so restore his phone from that. Please not that everythign created on th ephone since the backup was made will be lost

The pictures I'm trying to transfer from my camera are just a gray photo and a message says they are in an unrecogized format.I have version 8.1.2 Iphoto '09 any solutions?

As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?
