Ios6: can we go back to ios5?

The maps app from ios5 was great, but I was excited for Apple to come out with their own, because I thought it'd be better. However, businesses I need to find don't show up in searches. It's much, much worse! Is there any way to go back to iOS 5?

For networking issues, have you tried resetting network
settings and then try recconnecting? Also, try various
combinations of turning on and off of WiFi and Cell data.
Some people in other threads have said some random
combinations of that seemed to restore things.
What are your docking issues? Are they with particular
devices or any devices?
BTW, for what ever reason, some, not all, that were able to
revert to 5 still had the problems.

All you have to do to downgrade is plug in your device into iTunes and click restore. Let it do it's thing and you'll be back on 5.1.1. And if that doesn't work. Just search on google for its 5.1.1 for your device and download it. And after that shift then click on restore and browse for your the 5.1.2 firmware (for windows) and Mac use (alt) and click restore. Hope this helps cause I'm sure everybody with an apple device has done so,etching crazy like him so stop judging the man. Or woman.

I made the mistake of updating to iOS6 on its release date. Usually I wait for the dust to settle. IOS 6 is ok , nothing special on an iPad2 but Maps is very poor. Low, resolution, poor location of points of interest and a general cheap look. If I rest, can I have go back to iOS5?

Backup is your best option if you have one. Reverting software will not bring the contacts back.

You cannot downgrade the iOS. There are other Maps apps available in the App Store, you can use Googles web app as well.

It's ridiculous how the keyboard reacts to pushes after a second. Camera app loads half a minute. Why u even let this upgrade happen? 6th is too heavy for 3GS.

Editorial comment: Apple need to learn to play with others better.... I went away from Apple products once before because of this type of behavior and after receiving the iPad as a gift @ one year ago, I was feeling better about their products until this latest move which makes me weary of their anti-customer practices. Any marketing person would have learned in their first day of customer research how many iPad owners used Youtube.

My son has severe autism and loves the youtube app from 5.1.1 now that my wife upgraded to 6.0 there is no favorite tab and he doesn't have any of his shows available, plus seaching is a nightmare for him. Maunally restore it. In order to do this:
-Download the iOS 5.1.1 firmware from here http://www.redmondpie.com/download-5.1.1-ios-for-iphone-4s-4-3gs-ipad-ipod-touch -direct-official-links/
1. After downloading the firmware from the given link, open iTunes and click on your device.
2. Now press SHIFT on your keyboard and while pressing it click on "Restore".
3. A dialog box will appear.
4. Select the firmware you downloaded and click ok.
5. Done!!! Your iPhone will now be restored to 5.1.1 and if you had backed up your iPod before, then you can put all its settings afterwards.
