Mavericks has killed my battery!!
Come on Apple, you've really dropped the ball on this one and you're silence is deafening!
I have a mid 2009 Macbook Pro. I installed a new genuine battery about six months ago and could use my Macbook all day without having to plug it in. Since 'upgrading' to Mavericks my battery life has dropped to only a couple of hours at most and that is on a good day! The battery monitor will say 100%, 10mins later it'll say 60%, 10mins later it's back up to 80%! What the **** is going on Apple? It's probably a good thing you didn't charge for Mavericks I suppose!
I have tried all the suggestions on the other threads about the same problem but the issue persists.
Is Apple working on a solution? If they are they're keeping very quiet on the subject....Try this discussion...

IOS 5.0.1 has killed my battery life
My battery life was just fine with iOS 5.0, but the annoying little notification to update my iphone annoyed me enough to do it... now my battery life is literally draining before my eyes and I have every feature turned off, min brightness and its on airplane mode. I will go from 100% to 80% in less than an hour!
This is bullcrap, Why would Apple deny us the possibility to downgrade our iphones to previous firmware versions? I feel like I was led into a trap. I can barely use my phone, 'coz it drains dead half-way through the day.
Apple: Please resign previous versions!! at least until 5.02 is out (If that even fixes it). -
Battery dies and computer shuts down
Up until about a week or two ago my MacBook was working fine. Yet now the battery is all messed up. Whenever the battery dies the whole system shuts down instead of going into safe sleep mode. I tried resetting the SMS, it worked at first, but then it just stopped going into safe sleep mode again. System profiler says that the battery is fine. I don't understand why it won't go into safe sleep mode, any help?

I am about to go get my 4th iphone 4s since November! Up in the left corner where it shows your signal strength, it goes into searching mode and stays there. Kills my battery. While in searching, no calls can be made/recieved, no internet, etc. This one has lasted the longest-I got it December 23. Any ideas out there?
Both. The first two, I did use my itunes. The guy at the apple store said that could be the problem. The last time they gave me a new phone and SIM card, and the tech said it wouldnt be the itunes. Just to be safe, I never connected this phone to the itunes until last night-after it started searching- to save everything since I'm sure they will be replacing the phone today. But hey, thanks for the suggestions. I'm about at my wits end with Apple!! Especially since i added a third line to my account just so I could get an iphone back.

My network symbol keeps working on my home page even when I'm not doing anything, I know there has been problems in the past with this so has it come back, help it's killing my battery!
Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss) -

I have a MacBook Pro made in mid 2009. A fully recharged battery dies in about 2 hours. Is this a systems issue or do I have to replace the battery? The battery has about 100 cycles on it.
Try a SMC reset:
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295
If this is an original battery, even with a low cycle count, it is old and probably should be replaced.

Calendar Notifications / Alerts / Reminders killing my battery
I haven't found any comments on this specifically....
I have noticed that if I leave a calendar notification/reminder on the screen, my battery dies very rapidly. With the phone in airplane mode, a notification on the screen seems to kill the battery in 6-8 hours (maybe less). If I disable notifications and leave the phone in airplane mode, the battery drops only ~ 5-10% in 6-8 hours.
It looks like pulseaudio, mediaserver, and LunaSysMgr are all pretty active while the notificaiton is on the screen. (I left top running before a notification appeared so I could see what was going on.)
Has anyone else seen this? Perhaps it is well-known and I am missing it in my searches.
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)I saw this before the most recent update. I had noticed that my battery life was generally better on weekends than during the week. It has always been that way. One big difference is that I tend to have a lot of calendar appointments during the work day, and I don't always dismiss them.
In the process of looking at possible improvements (kernels, etc.), I happened to leave Govnah open and noticed that the CPU was running at the higher/max frequency all the time when I had the "on demand" governer enabled when I turned on my phone and there was a notification/reminder on the screen. As soon as I dismissed it, the frequency went down.
So, I went back to the default config and left top running and noticed pulseaudio was running, etc.. With the "normal" / default kernel running, I see the same behavior -- my battery dies very quickly if I leave notifications on the screen (even with the phone in airplane mode).
To clarify... airplane mode is not required to see the issue. I only enabled that as a debug step to eliminate differences due to being connected to a network, etc.. This issuce occurs in airplane mode or when connected to 3G, etc.. -
3rd 4s since Aug '12. My battery dies by the second. Just unlocking it, brings the % down. Was @ Apple Sat & going back today. Haven't upgraded to the ios7. Apps are all closed, light is turned down...I've done & do it all. This is the "new" (refurbished) phone from Sat & I can't even use it because the battery dies simply by unlockng. SO OVER Apple. Make a flippin product that works...that's what we pay for !! Can anyone help ?
Hello,
If you're in a country where there's an apple shop (unfortunately not mine), go check it and ask the employee about it: he's gonna check your Iphone on a "device"
I've got an iphone 5 and it's working very well with me but I have to admit that its battery lasts (slower) than my Ipad 2.
Still i can help with some tips that may improve your iohone's battery by an hour in addition (hopefully):
- close all apps by multitasking....
- do NOT keep the brightness to the max
Believe me you're gonna regret changing your phone to a samsung
Hope i've helped and sorry for my bad english (has english as 3rd language) -
I have the latest ipod nano (7th gen, 16gb) and I use it mostly on bluetooth. When the battery dies during use with the Bluetooth it doesn't take a charge, the battery doesn't turn on and of course the computer doesn't even acknowledge that it's plugged in. This is my second nano in just over a month, the same thing happen with the first one. I just want to know if their is a way to fix this so I don't have to keep sending it in? Or maybe pay the difference to upgrade to a touch?
If the battery has been completely depleted on the Nano (not really a good idea) then it is going to take 15 to 30 minutes before your computer can see it. Same thing will happen with an iPod Touch.

Help!! - Yosemite/FileVault Disaster Killing my Battery
How do I stop FileVault after enabling it during Yosemite installation? It is saying it will take a YEAR to encrypt my files. I have 220 GB of content, apps etc included, on my computer.
Looks like the process has stalled but it keeps trying to proceed with the result that my battery is overheating and drains down very quickly. FileVault is literally killing my battery.
Having reviewed some posts here, I tried the Command-Option-P-R technique to reset RAM during restart (to no avail), and Disk Utility cannot switch off the encryption (option to do so is grayed out).
Looking at Activity Monitor, I see that something called SystemUIServer is using 60% of CPU.
MY QUESTIONS: Is there anything I can "Force Quit" to stop FileVault? If not, can I reinstall Yosemite without enabling FileVault? If so, how do I do that? (I upgraded to Yosemite via the Mac App Store.)If not, can I reinstall Yosemite without enabling FileVault? If so, how do I do that? (I upgraded to Yosemite via the Mac App Store.)
You do not have to enable File Vault. Do a backup. Boot to the Recovery Volume (command - R on a restart or hold down the option key during a restart and select Recovery Volume). Run Disk Utility Verify/Repair and Repair Permissions until you get no errors. Then re-install the OS.

Ipod freezes on syncing and won't unfreeze until battery dies
hello,
my friend has an 80 gig ipod classic that freezes when she plugs it into her computer to sync it. when she unplugs the ipod, it says "corrupted" and is completely frozen. She has to wait until the battery dies and then charge it again to be able to use it.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!Have You tried the restart...when it freezes up. that might help. its two buttons Menu and the centre, press them at the same time...Try Restarting the ipod before you connect it other than that you might want to consult your closest apple store geek. There is a disk mode and try restarting then pressing Centre and Play/Pause button when it shows the apple sign might work. I had one that did that, but thats because i washed it in the washer machine three times. now it works great. but dont go do that. Or it may be your computer USB cable. just holla back if you still cant figure it out- oh and if you want to take it outta disk mode, just restart again. and it should work. other than that consult a geek.
But if you need some advise, it (ipod) might need to be restored and you can do that on your itunes. just click the ipod when it comes up and there should be a button that says "Restore". i hope she has all her music and movies on her hard drive. -
