IOS8 - Music stops playing when I open Messages app

Since downloading iOS8, my music stops playing when I open the Messages app. I have to go back to the Music app to begin playing the music again once I have closed the Messages app. I assume it has something to do with the video/audio message feature. How can I get my music to continue playing when I open the messages app?

Rebooting my phone (a 5S) solved this issue, at least temporarily. I was ready to rush to the Apple Store and beg them for an iOS 7 phone; no music while texting is a definite deal breaker for me.

For all of you, the first thing to do when these things happen after an update, is to close all your open apps and reset. This will cure your ills 99.9% of the time:
Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

That doesn't make any sense. Isn't that the whole purpose of the multitasking feature, why would it close?

I would recommend steps 1, 3, 4, and 5 from our iPhone Troubleshooting Assistant found here http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/phone/. If you get to step 3, I recommend closing all the apps. Here is step 1 to get you started:
Restart iPhone
To restart iPhone, first turn iPhone off by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button until a red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider and iPhone will turn off after a few moments.
Next, turn iPhone on by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Is iPhone not responding? To reset iPhone, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least 10 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If your device does not turn on or displays a red battery icon, try recharging next.

Why does my music stop playing when I open a book in iBooks?

I have enjoyed reading books on my iPhone but since my last OS update the music fades out whenever I open a book in iBooks . Any setting I can change ?
MAC OS 10.7.2 and iTunes Version 10.5.3. Help

Ok, I just realised that this only happens if the current page in iBooks has a video on it. If the page has only text and images, there is no problem.
I still think it is a bug though. If the video is not running, I don't see why the music player should be stopped. If I choose to start the video on the page, THEN the music player should be stopped.

And you are positive the white part of the headset is flush with the body of the Nano?
Have you tried another set of headphones to see if the problem persisted? If so, it's likely that the headphone jack needs replacing.

DriveReadySeekComplete errors are either:
- IDE controler failure
- Bad cables
- Bad harddisk
Out of these 3, the last one sounds the most reasonable with nowadays harddrives. And yes, your system will hang when all your important processes are hanging while trying to do disk I/O.
What windows does is switching back to PIO mode and never report anything, until you hit the nice BSOD telling you to replace the floppydisk in drive C...

This is usually a sign that your headphones are not plugged all the way in. Make sure the white part of the headset is flush with the body of the Nano and no silver from the plug can still be seen.
If you are 100% positive that the earbuds are all the way in, double check to make sure the headphone jack is clean and clear of debris and/or damage.

Why do songs stop playing when I sleep my screen? If my screen automatically sleeps after two minutes or I sleep it with the button or iPad smart cover the music stops playing. It only started doing this after upgrading to 5.0.1. Is this just a bug with the new software?

i've had my ipod for awhile and it just started doing this - last night. it plays for about 30 seconds and stops. i press play again and it restarts where it had stopped. i had wondered if i had accidentally set it to 'sample' or something.

Music Stops Playing When Pulled From Macbook

Hi,
I have an ATV2 that allows me to push music from my PC's iTunes library as well as pull music from it using the remote and on-screen menu. It also works fine with my Macbook Pro when the Macbook is pushing to ATV; however, if I try to pull music from my Macbook by using the ATV on screen menu, I will get 2 or three songs and then it stops playing. The library is still visible, but the music stops.
I have tried restoring ATV and changing the channels in my wireless router. My wireless speeds are OK (plus it works fine when pushing/pulling from PC and pushing from Macbook).
Any suggestions?

OK....I think I have the problem. My ATV was a little to close to my wireless headset and speaker transmitters. Moving it away from them seems to have done the trick.

Dear All,
I want to use my blackberry as audio device when riding my bike. However i noticed that it just stops playing music when there is a new notification, once thats has been cleared, it just resumes playing. This is highly unusable 'cause the torch is somewhere in my jacket.
Could someone help me out here? I saw that this was a common problem and i find it very unlicky that cracking my blackberry (which i bought for 800$) is the only solution to make it work like a 20$ mp3 player.

When I want music only I set my alerts to vibrate only so it wont be interupted
Try a Battery pull please, with the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery 15 seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot device. This will clear all cache like rebooting a PC. Then try again and see if your problem persists.

XBox Music stops playing when minimized

In Build 9879, when you minimize the music app to the task bar it stops playing. You have to leave it on the desktop to keep playing the music. Doesn't do this in 8.1, what's up?
