IP Address shows wrong physical location

I just installed a WRT160Nv3 wireless router. Prior to that I had a 54g router from Linksys.
Prior to the install, all the websites that I visit, which show where you live (meetup.com for example) were showing me in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.. which is correct.
Suddenly with the new router it is showing me as being in Kendal, FL... which is no where near me.
What's up with that.
I know that in the past my IP address was 76.108.213.196 - now with the new router it is showing as 75.74.214.157
Why the change.. and how do I set it back to the correct Palm Beach Gardens IP address.

This often happens with Time Warner.
One way to quickly resolve the issue and get you back to your old ip address would be to clone your mac address from your old router.
I've noticed you'll get one ip address if you connect your computer directly to your modem and a completely different one when you connect another device/pc/mac or router to the modem.
Make sure you put your modem on standby before switching devices connect directly to the modem.
In most cases, if too much time has past since you had your old router connected, then the ip address may be assigned to another modem on you internet carriers network.
Time Warner Usually Reserves the assigned ip address from anywhere between 7-14 days before putting it back into the pool of reserve ip address for modems coming online.

IPhone/iPad started showing wrong gps location in home

Hello,
My wife and I have iPhone 5's and an iPad 2(wifi). All using the latest iOS. Because we don't get a strong signal in our house we have the AT&T 3G microcell to provide cell reception in house. Our broadband internet is through Comcast. We've been at this house for several years.
Everything, Apple-wise, has worked fine, then about 4 weeks ago I noticed that Apple maps, google maps, and all apps utilizing gps started showing my location in our house to be in Tallahassee FL. I live in Vero Beach, FL about 350 miles away. Both iPhones and the iPad show the exact same (address) location. If I leave our house, the location service work accurately on all devices so I know they aren't malfunctioning.
I've reset all devices, reset location services and network settings on all devices to no avail. I've even registered the mac address of our router (netgear) with Skyhook wireless thinking it would propagate back.
I've spoken to both AT&T and Comcast to no avail. Since the iPad (wifi only) is showing the same location, I don't think this relates to the 3g Microcell (it does have a gps for 911 purposes and I have reentered our correct phy. location to make sure).
Since we both have iPhones I don't know why Apple's wifi hotspot isn't updating or why it even changed to begin with.
After resetting everything-ios devices, 3g microcell, router, modem and computers- I'm baffled how to solve this.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Most of these posts are older, but the problem is the same. My GPS locator is about 600 feet off from my actual location. This is on my iPad Gen 3. The comments are varied and I'm not sure they apply. Chris says the server can be throwing the GPS off. I have a Verizon My-Fi Hotspot, so it is actually right with me and the iPad. Is this different than having a 4G built into the iPad? Apple did not think so.
Also, I have closed and reopened the app several times and the location is always off - even though it varies from about 225 feet to 650 feet and all have been outside in the open. Most of the time, my home location is off by 600+ feet and I have not tried the GPS downtown or in other locations.
Please note that I am not a novice to the use of a GPS. I have used them for years in hunting and traveling. This is, however, my first use with an iPad.

My MacBook Pro with Retina display shows wrong current location

I purchased my MacBook Pro when I was a student at a particular university in Hawaii. After I graduated, I moved back to my home country in the Philippines. When I use Google Maps or Bing Maps to show me my current location which is now in the Philippines, it still shows that I'm still at that university in Hawaii. I tried using the Find My iPhone App, it shows my iPhone's and MacBook Pro's location in Hawaii but not at my current location in the Philippines. I tried resetting the PRAM, changing region settings, and even my timezone manually, but still having that wrong location info whiich I need in case I lose my iDevices and try to locate them and they'll all point to Hawaii!

It works now with other browsers - Chrome and Firefox. They show my location, but in Safari, it still shows I'm in Hawaii and even in the Time Zone settings in Sys Preferences. This bugs me a lot. I reset Safari and still shows me I'm in Hawaii. I used Google Maps and Bing Maps to locate me at my current location but the system still shows I'm in Hawaii although Chrome and Firefox now shows that I'm in the Philippines. So I tried resetiing the CoreLocationAgent service again and got an error. It said Failed to reset the database. I tried Find My iPhone again but shows my Mac in Hawaii. I'm just concerned about this since it can't locate my Retina MacBook Pro in case it gets stolen!
I don't know if this is a bug in Mountain Lion or am I missing something?
Please help again... Really appreciate it.

Inter company STPO delivery address showing the storage location address

then delete the storage location in the PO item line.
the storage location is the most detailed information in the PO, and it has an adress. If you procure to that storage location (that has a different address to your plant adress) then it is logic and makes a lot of sense that your supplier sends the goods to this location and not to an address where the material is not needed.

Mouse rollover on bookmark shows wrong name & location text

FF 22.0, Win 7. Don't know when this started but when i hover the mouse over a bookmark (in my bookmark display) it displays the incorrect name and location text. It is displaying the info for another bookmark. It does display the correct info for the bookmarks on the Bookmarks Toolbar.

This issue can be caused by a problem with HiDPI support in current Firefox versions.
Try to set the layout.css.devPixelsPerPx pref on the <b>about:config</b> page to 1.0 (current default value is -1.0) to restore the behavior of previous Firefox versions.
If necessary adjust layout.css.devPixelsPerPx starting with 1.0 in 0.1 or 0.05 steps (1.0 or 0.9) to make icons show correctly.<br />

My apple email address shows wrong dates and emails are lost

Hello,
Today I noticed my emails shows funny dates like 11/19/1393AP and some of my emails are erased.
I think it happend after my flash was used on another computer, not sure it it is virus or malware.
I am In Tanzania now with no access to an apple store. Need help any suggestion

In azure cloud service with Location West Europe, why the IP address shows the server is locate in United States?

We have 9 projects in azure cloud service, and all are use West Europe location, but with different subscription, and we found that one of those cloud service which its IP address is United
States(Why?) and others are all in Amsterdam(this is correct)
Can someone explain why? the server which it's ip located in United
States is very slow, BTW i'm in Amsterdam.

I have saw the same problem on Brazil. There has some comments about this issue, you can refer to it:
Microsoft owns large ranges of IP addresses which are typically registered in Redmond, so usually Azure IP addresses around the world show up as being
physically located in Redmond when using these types of tools.
It's more or less an issue with the way our IP are registered. They all "belong" to Microsoft in the US and Brasil
IP locator tools like whatismyip are sometimes incorrect. Some will give the real location, some will give the location of the ISP, etc …
IP geo lookup tools typically rely on a static database of IP address range registrations.
It's a Microsoft issue in the sense that we may publish the correct location for our datacenters
(eg. Amsterdam should locate in Europe and not in Redmond…) – but it's also a 3rd party tools issue.

Iphone 4 showing wrong IP address for home wireless

2 days ago we reset our home wireless password and updated our devices (ipad, laptop, and two cell phones). Now my iphone 4 will no longer connet to the wireless. It accepts the new password to join the network but it never connects. It is showing wrong IP address. How can I change it to the correct IP ? Tried hard rest, forget network, and renew lease all trying to get it to automatically update the info. Out of ideas. Any suggestions?

I have the exact same router as you, I have Comcast, and I am having the exact same INFURIATING problem.
Comcast and Apple have no ideas. Linksys tells me I am having a router problem.
I even went so far as to buy a new router and modem from Linksys (as they claim they no longer make the router/modem combo because it doesn't work well). I still don't buy this... my PC, my PS3, my DS... all of them connect to the router perfectly.
I have the new modem and router here and planned to give that a whirl tonight but Comcast was being difficult and saying it could take 72 hours to activate my new modem. Totally unsat. I had them reconnect the WCG200 and I am still trouble shooting to no avail...
If anyone finds a fix (short of a new router and new modem)... please post!

That is a problem with the WiFi-only iPads. Location is determined by the routers "within reach" of your iPad. There apparently is a database somewhere that tracks the location of routers and that is used to determine the location of the iPad. It's been known to produce some really cockamamie results.
In my case, it was off by a reliable 200 yards for maybe the first year that I owned the iPad. Then it mysteriously began to recognize my actual location.

I moved from Cumbria to Suffolk about 6 weeks ago, maintaining my BT broadband account and Home Hub 2. When I log on to Icloud via my Wireless Network to locate my Ipad, the system reports that it has found my Ipad in Cumbria, at my previous address (even though it has never been there!). I guess that there is a database of router MAC addresses against physical locations for Wireless signals (or is is simple postal address ?). I also tried using my new Home Hub 3 (that has also never been to Cumbria!) and it still reports my old location, even though it will have a different MAC address. I have tried to resolve via Call Centres with not much luck.
Will my new home address eventually work through the system or do I need to ask somebody at BT to do something?

Hi, I recieved an e-mail as below, but not posted on this forum, so not sure if I should be posting or e-mailing to reply Anyway, I am not convinced that the advice is correct. My Ipad has never been North of Ipswich, so why would it be reporting that it lives in Cumbria? The only link is the router, which used to live in Cumbria ans now lives in Ipswich. I believe there is a database of wireless hotspots which still thinks my BT Hub lives in Cumbria!

Location services shows wrong location

I have an iPhone 5 with latest iOS. I live in Kennesaw GA. I installed xfinity Internet at my new home.
When my phone is connected to wifi, it shows the current location as charleston SC. This is for any app that uses the GPS.
My wife has an iPhone 4S with latest iOS and her current location is correct when connected to wifi.
So I find it strange that my phone shows my current location as Charleston.
When I turn off the wifi, the current location is correct.
If anyone has experienced the same problem please respond.

Improving GPS accuracy
GPS accuracy varies depending on the number of visible GPS satellites. Locating all visible satellites can take several minutes, with accuracy gradually increasing over time. Use these tips to improve GPS accuracy:

Firefox shows wrong clickable email address on yahoo mail sign in field when I type first letter. explorer gets it right.age

When I type the first letters into the sign in box on the Yahoo Mail sign in page via my latest edition Firefox browser, (on Windows Vista) my clickable Hotmail address shows in the drop down box instead of my Yahoo address, (Both begin with the same word.) so I then need to always type in my correct Yahoo address to sign in. Internet Explorer gets it right, making me think it's a browser issue.
I've tried the settings in Yahoo, and everything in Firefox Tools/Options I can think of. Thanks for any help!

I was facing the same issue with my Ipad - wifi.
I have found a simple solution for this but it needs you to have a iphone and period of one week.
if wifi router's mac address is not registered with apple's location services server, the location services on Ipad-wifi does not work, so we need to register wifi router's mac address to apple's server in first place.
If you have a iphone, then try to install 'Find my iphone' app. install it on your ipad also.
Initially when you login to this app with both iphone and ipad, only your Iphone will show location as it has GPS location. and your ipad location will not be reflected on this app.
If you continue to find your ipad using this app on you Iphone, and using your home wifi router, eventually after few days you would be able to track you ipad location, because your wifi router's mac address get registered on apple's server with its gps co-odridnates.
This has worked for my on 3 different wifi routers in last 8 months.
