IPad 2 constantly asks for Apple ID

My iPad constantly asks for my Apple ID.  It started doing this after I updated to 5.0.1. Also, it seems random.

that is for extra security
in case if you lose your device, whoever is using it cannot misuse your apple id
as it will keep prompting for password

    Hi there Mullin1!
I have a couple of articles here that can help you troubleshoot and resolve this issue. This first article will help walk you through some basic troubleshooting steps for FaceTime, and it can be found here:
    iOS: Troubleshooting FaceTime

After going through those steps, if you are still having issues with your Wi-Fi connection, then you will want to reference the further steps located in this article:

  • Constantly asking for Apple ID password?

Is anyone else's iPhone only, not my iPod touch, is constantly asking for you to enter your Apple ID password besides when downloading an app?  If so, did you find something that helped?  PLEASE HELP!  It's only been 2 or 3 days, I believe  I have not changed any settings, at least purposefully, so I'm unsure why it started at of a sudden.

I had the same problem, and was able to pin-point one of my app called "LINE" by Naver was causing this issue. So for those of you who have this same issue and also have LINE, here is the solution from LINE support, which resolved my issue.
[1] Please update your LINE app from here:
    https://itunes.apple.com/en/app/line/id443904275?mt=8
(If you have already got the most recent version please follow the steps below.)
[2] Please try the following steps:
    1) Tap your iPhone [Settings]
    2) Tap [Store] (On iOS6 this will be shown as [ iTunes Store/App Store]
    3) Tap the box that starts with [Apple ID: ] at the bottom
    4) Tap [Sign Out]
    5) Start up LINE without signing in again and tap [More] on LINE’s main menu.
    6) Tap [Settings] > [Stickers] > Purchase History]
    7) Tap [Restore Sticker Purchases]
    6) When required, enter your Apple ID and password at the pop-up window and tap [OK]
** Don't worry about lossing stickers that you purchased, I completed above process and all the purcahsed stickers are still there **

  • Ipad 2 is asking for apple id after restoring

I work for a school and we handed out several ipad 2 ,3 and airs over the years. It has come to my attention that I cannot go into recovery mode and restore an ipad any longer with out it asking for an apple id after restored. The problem is that several if not all are asking for staffs own apple ids. Is their a way to change this or can apple change this for me. Our school has purchased all of these from apple. The other big question is how did their ID become paired up with that ipad?

    Hi bgs47,
Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like iPads that have been restored are prompting for the previous user's Apple ID. This feature is called Activation Lock, and occurs when the user has signed in to the device with their iCloud account and turned on Find my iPhone:
With iOS 7 or later, Find My iPhone includes a feature called Activation Lock, which is turned on automatically when you set up Find My iPhone. Activation Lock makes it harder for anyone to use or sell your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch if it’s ever lost or stolen.
With Activation Lock, your Apple ID and password are required before anyone can:
Turn off Find My iPhone on your device
Sign out of iCloud on your device
    Erase and reactivate your device
    From:
    iCloud: Activation Lock
If the user is not available to enter their information into the device, they can remove it from their iCloud account by following these steps:
Contact the previous owner and ask them to follow these steps to remove the device from their account:
Sign in to their iCloud account at www.icloud.com/find.
Click All Devices to open a list of devices linked to their account, then select the device to be removed. It should show a gray dot or the word “Offline” next to the device name.
Click "Remove from Account" to remove the device from their account.
After the device is removed from the previous owner’s account, turn the device off by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button located on the top-right side of the device. Then restart your device and proceed with device setup as you would normally.
You can find these steps and more information about Activation Lock here:
Find My iPhone Activation Lock: Removing a device from a previous owner’s account - Apple Support
    Best Regards,
    Jeremy

  • IPad is frequently asking for Apple ID

My wife's iPad has suddenly started asking for her Apple ID almost everytime she uses it...especially after charging it.  How do we eliminate this?

I would try rebooting the iPad and see if that fixes it.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If that doesn't work, have her sign out in Settings>iTunes and App stores>Apple ID. Tap the ID and then tap sign out. Restart the iPad, sign in again and see how it goes.

We are fellow users here on these forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple. I don't know where you originally posted this question, but it's only just appeared in the Using iPad forum.
If you can't remember your password then you can reset it via http://iforgot.apple.com
If you can't get it reset via that site then you will have to contact Support in your country, they should be able to reset it for you (they can also reset your security questions if you've forgotten their answers).

If your country isn't on that page then try this form to contact Support : https://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html

  • My ipad mini is not usable because it constantly asks for iCloud password. It also will not connect to network. Does anyone have any suggestions?

My son's ipad mini has become not usable because it asks for constantly asks for iCloud password. It says that it is not the correct password and the screen reappears. I know the password is correct because I can login to the website via another PC.
Part of the issue is that it appears not be connected to the network. It appears to be trying to then gets interuptted by the iCloud password request.
I tried to restore from iTunes when connected to PC, however, it says it cannot do this because Find My Phone has been activated on the ipad. To deactiviate I need to turn it off on the ipad which required my iCloud password (seems I am in a catch 22).
Any suggestions on how to proceed?
    Thanks.

Hopefully this will me get you back up.

i updated my ipad to ios 8 and now my ipad is locked asking for activation when i put it doesnt accept my apple id do you have a solution?

Did you by this iPad new? Or used? If it was a used iPad, you'll need the Apple ID login for the original owner. If you bought it new, contact AppleCare with proof that you are the original owner and they may be able to help you.

  • I want to get a new app for my ipad , but it first asked for apple ID and then asked for verify payment, what should i do?

I want to get a new app for my ipad , but it first asked for apple ID and then asked for verify payment, what should i do?

The iTunes Store needs the 3-digit security code from your credit card on the account.  The iPad will display the account information so you can enter this information.  Once you enter the information, purchase the app and it will download.  Sounds like the Apple ID and payment information is not yours (your parents), so discuss this with the account holder.

  • Why does my iPad constantly ask for a keychain security access code?

Why does my iPad constantly ask for a keychain security access code?

You might have some app updates or other itmes that are trying to download.

  • Why does my itouch constantly ask for my Apple ID password after updating to OS 5.1 even when I just leave it alone?

Ever since I updated to OS 5.1 my itouch has been asking me for my Apple ID password roughly about 6 times a day when I just leave it alone, like I'm not even downloading anything for it to even ask for my password so what is the deal? I've already tried doing a hard reset, still the same. And no I have not done a factory restore that's just a last step I'll ever do, it's just annoying to be constantly asked for my password.

  • IPad continuously asking for Apple iD

iPad continuously asks for apple iD password even when entered correctly

Try typing password really slow make sure there are a capital letter and a number somewhere in your password
If that doesn't work try changing your password to something easier.

  • IPad startup asks for apple id that is an email

iPad startup asks for apple id that is an email but my existing apple id is not an email address.  When I try to change my existing apple id to my email, the system won't change it so I'm stuck.  I can't complete the iPad startup without entering my apple id but I can't change it to an email address like the iPad expects.  Any suggestions?

To be honest i'm not sure but i think the apple id is always an email address and you can't use anything else try putting @me.com after the apple id you have
