IPad Air Apps keep crashing after iOS 7.1 Update
Hi, I just upgraded to ios 7.1 on my ipad air. Everything was working fine before the update. But after, everytime I try to open any app, it attempts to start, but then immediately crashes. Even when I download an app from the app store, it still crashes. I have tried everything (restart, reset, hard reset, etc.) and I can't think of anything else to do but replace it which I don't want to do.
Hello jscott1997,
It sounds like all your apps are closing when you open them, even new apps are doing the same thing. I recommend starting by closing all the open apps on the phone:
iOS: Force an app to close
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that and restart the phone and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If it persists, I would next backup your device to iTunes with this article:
iOS: How to back up and restore your content
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
And restore it from your backup with the steps in the following article. These steps will erase, and re install the iOS software, so that when you restore from the back up it is not restoring on top of the previous iOS installation:
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
All the very best,
Sterling

My apps keep crashing after the 7.1 update. Help, please?
After the update, I have noticed that my apps keep crashing even after I have updated the said apps. It's getting worse and, frankly, very annoying. How do I resolve this issue? Please help.

IPad Air - no ringer sounds after ios 8.3 update
since updating to ios 8.3, my iPad Air has no notification or ringer sounds on apps. eg I'm unable to use the Alarmed app as there's no sound. The volume works ok on music and movies.
For 2 days after the update, the home screen showed the Ringer icon flashing On and Off on the home screen when I woke the iPad up. (it's stopped this although the fault remains).
I have held the home and power button and rebooted, but this doesn't solve the issue.
Any suggestions please?
I only updated from iOS 7 recently as was trying to avoid the dreaded update bugs....iOS 7 crashed. So does 8.3.I'm not 100% sure that I know what you mean by "reset/restore." If it has NEVER been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures:
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again. Also, read this. -

What exactly do you mean by "crashing" and is it occuring on a specific app or under specific circumstances?

My iPad air either keeps crashing, gets blue screen or reboots itself. It does not seem to matter which program I am using or process I am involved with. Never had this program with my 3. I have the latest software loaded. Any help would be appreciated.

My iPhoto keeps crashing after installing the latest update, can't do anything!
My iPhoto keeps crashing after installing the latest update, can't do anything! It used to crash when importing but now I'm at the point where I open the software and after 2 seconds it crashes (nothing connected either). What to do? Can't access any photos
Try this: launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists. If you can create a new library and import some test photos then the problem lies with your original library.
If that's the case make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
If iPhoto crashes while trying to create a new library then try this:
Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
If that fails to help a reinstall of iPhoto is indicated. To do so you'll have to delete the current application and all files with "iPhoto" in the file name with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder and from the /var/db/receipts/ folder,
Then install iPhoto from the disk it came on originally and apply all relavant updaters.
P.S. If you're still running Tiger, 10.4.6, then the above may not apply. If you're running a newer system you should update your profile so we have a better idea of where you're at.

Apps keep crashing after upgrade to ios 7 ipad2
After upgrading to ios 7 most of my apps keep crashing on ipad2 why? Do i need to re-install them? Please help
i am having the same experience (as well as several other problems) since installing iOS7 on my iPad2. The apps briefly appear to open when I tap their icons, but then disappear. double tapping the Home key to bring up the multi-tasking view idicates that the apps are running in the background but, I cannot access them.
This fiasco began because I was unable to login to my One-to-One account after the iOS7 update. I spent 4 hrs on the phone last night, with 4 different people from Apple support, restoring the iPad to factory settings & then restoring the image from my iCloud backup, only to end up with the situation described above. And I still can't login to my One-to-One account, plus I amnow also unable to access the iTunes store. I am sure there are other problems that I have yet to discover.
This has been such a "Windows" experience that I find myself wondering if Apple truly has lost its mojo & mystique. Are their pretty products worth their premium prices? More importantly, are they worth the frustration I experience, & the time that lost from my life, in trying to resolve problems with their"improvements". If asked today, my answer would be a very loud & resounding "NO"!!!!! -
i have a 16 GB iPhone 4 with IOS 6.1.3.
The official Apple Podccast app keeps crashing with seconds of starting playing any downloaded podcast.
I have re-installed and reset the phone a number of times to no avail.
Other download apps such as iPlayer and Tune In radio work fine.Hello there, Pellingh.
A great iPhone Troubleshooting Assistant that will help make sure you've covered all your bases is the following:

Mail app keeps crashing after Yosemite update
I just bought a new MB Pro a couple of months ago. Hardly any apps installed.
After the upgrade to Yosemite the mail app keeps crashing when I launch it. I have read a lot of other topics but I can't find a solution.
Anybody out there who can help me? Or should I just wait on an update for this?
Regards
RobDid a clean install of Yosemite after issues with constant crashes on a mid-2010 MacBook Pro. Then tried Migration Assistant which hung up forever (12 hours) at 7 minutes to go. Forced quit and rebooted. I tried this after the initial reinstall transferring files from the worthless non-function software rouse called "Time Machine" which should be renamed "Waste of Time Machine". So I have spent endless hours on various Apple support forums on Time Machine, Migration Assistant, and Apple Mail forums, with dozens of users with similar or the very same issues. The most striking thing in all these forums is that there are no "this solved my problem" posts, and any response from any Apple support person or employee is 100% absent. I have used nothing but Macs since 1987. In the last few weeks I've spent more time trying to solve Mac computer OS issues than using my Macs. The Tim Cook era is starting to mirror the Ken Scully era when Apple was the company you loved to hate. Lovely hardware designs -- crappy worthless software. No mail, no 8000 image iPhoto library (despite two levels of backups) - no way to recovery that I can discover. Spaceship buildings, silly watches (which I predict will go the way of the of the Newton), daft Siri, and complete lack of focus on software that actually functions with the pretty hardware. I love my iPad and iPhone, but I see Windows and Android in my future, after 27 years of blind, and in retrospect, misplaced Apple loyalty. The Apple Titanic has an iceberg dead ahead of it that it is too blind to see.

4G iPod touch KEEPS CRASHING AFTER 6.1.3 UPDATE
Okay, so I live in an area with rural internet. Because of this I have only just downloaded the 6.1.3 iOS update this week for my 4G iPod touch. I have only just discovered how bad an idea that was.
Safari crashes every half-minute, the iPod is now INCREDIBLY slow, Twitter, YouTube and almost every app I have keeps crashing after a minute or so...
I have gone over all the 'fixes' that google has presented to me.
Clearing the multitasking bar doesn't change jack and I can't roll back my iPod to the backup on iTunes because I just got a new computer. And the first thing I did was move all my music over and SYNC THE IPOD AFTER IT HAD BEEN UPDATED.
So what am I supposed to do? My iPod is USELESS to me now as an internet-capable device OR music player, and no matter where I look the only help anyone can offer is "Apple doesn't support downgrading"???
So Apple updates the OS with a faulty patch and I have to deal with the failure?
Is there anyone who can actually HELP me? What do I do? Jailbreak the **** thing? I've never jailbroken anything before, but surely it can't render my iPod any more useless than it already is! It's not like the thing is covered under warranty anymore! (Really convinient, that...)
Can some please help me get my iPod WORKING again?! I paid $300 dollars for a music player with internet access, not a paperweight!
Either way, I'm officially done with Apple devices after this nonsense. I hear Galaxy Tabs actually work! Imagine!Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

IPhone 5 apps keeps crashing after 7.1 update
I've updated my iPhone 5 to latest release yesterday.
Since then whenever I open Facebook, it closes streight away, the same is for majority of apps.
When I receive a phone call, it crashes after about 1-2 minutes.
I've tried soft reset (holding power+home) hoping that will clean up some mess after update, but everything still keeps crashing.
Any help on how to fix this, or if not, how can I downgrade back to previous version?
Thanks.I have hit the same issue..
I updated to 7.1 a couple of days ago and my Iphone 5 hasnt stopped crashing since. I have soft reset it many times, only to find that it keeps failing in opening up unless I leave it for an hour at least.
Last night I linked it up on my mac and tried restore to factory settings, knowing I have a backup from before my upgrade.
But it failed the restore first with error 2006 and after update of Itunes security settings, with error 9.
Now the phone wont start and I cant get it to finish restore either - any advise? -
