IPAD confusion
I am trying to download some TV shows from my IMAC to y IPAD . I keep getting a message that says I can't sync my IPAD because my "itunes library" is full. It says to go to "setup to manage it" . Very confused

With an iOS device, the “Other” space in iTunes is used to store things like documents, settings, caches, and a few other important items. If you sync lots of documents to apps like GoodReader, DropCopy, or anything else that reads external files, your storage use can skyrocket. With iOS 5/6/7, you can see exactly which applications are taking up the most space. Just head to Settings > General > Usage, and tap the button labeled Show All Apps. The storage section will show you the app and how much storage space it is taking up. Tap on the app name to get a description of the additional storage space being used by the app’s documents and data. You can remove the storage-hogging application and all of its data directly from this screen, or manually remove the data by opening the app. Some applications, especially those designed by Apple, will allow you to remove stored data by swiping from left to right on the item to reveal a Delete button.

ITunes window in iPad, confused
I am trying to help a friend with his new iPad configure iTunes 10. I'm confused as to how to make iTunes look like a normal iTunes window with music folders and options to your left, then songs and albums located to the right. All I am seeing is advertisements to purchase music, no normal iTunes window. Please advise.
The iTunes app on the iPad is basically the iTunes store The links to various parts are on the bottom of the window.
The iPod app on the iPad is where the music is
iTunes 10 on the Mac (or PC) is where you set up apps, books, music movies and everything else for the iPad. -
I can't remember at which point Rosetta was removed from OSX. Was it taken out of Snow Leopard? Or not until Lion/ML?
Asking because I have a couple of games that I still want to play with, (my system is for fun, not work) and TBH, apart from Messages, I can live without most of what came with ML (and since I have an iPhone and iPad... meh). The point becomes moot if it was not in Snow Leopard either, and I will acquire an older mini or somesuch in order to access these games.
Thanks in anticipation for info.I looked at parallels, VMware *and* virtualbox and none of them want to run anything except OSX servers in a VM so I gave up. I have a standard Leopard install, and I have 10.8 on my MBP, but installing Leopard was fraught... so as I say, I gave up. I was contemplating kicking back to Snow (which is what the MBP came with) but then I'd lose the ML advantages of iCloud which I do use to a small degree: calendar and contact syncing and documents in Pages, and Messages... though I guess I can live without all of those if it came down to it... it just got me, my phone, and my ipad confused though, last time I did downgrade. I think it would be easier to find someone to sell me an old server and install that, than to downgrade. Or buy an old Mini
Oh..yeah... the games arent graphics or anything else intensive. just some early bigfish hidden object games, and a word game called word slinger which I love.
[edit] And having typed all of that above... there doesnt seem to be any reason not to install Leopard to an external drive (I have a few spares) and run it from there. I wonder if it will work, given the machine itself came with Snow. OR if I could install the original Snow to the ext drive... hmmmm... experimentation coming up. -
I cannot connect to my outgoing email server on my macBook pro, yet I can, for the same email account on my iPad. Also I can send emails from the other email account I have on my MacBook...really confused can anyone help?
Sometimes deleting the account and then re-creating it can solve this issue
Write down all the information in accounts before doing this
Highlight the account on the left and click the minus button
Then click the plus button to add the new account and follow the prompts -
I am confused about something. How do I read a book on my MacBook Pro? I can't find the iBook app anywhere, which is what I use on my iPad. The book I want to read is in my iTunes but I can't click on it. Some of my iBooks show up in my iTunes but they are "grayed" out. The only books that respond in iTunes are audiobooks and that's not what I'm looking for. Is this a stupid question?
Nevermind - I answered my own question, which is I CAN"T READ ANY BOOKS I purchased in iBooks on my MacBook Pro. If I want to read on my mac I have to use Kindle or Nook. Which means any book I've already purchased through iBooks has to be read on my iPad. Kind of a drag because there are times when it's more convenient for me to read while I'm sitting with my Mac.

First, your husband can create his own Apple ID via the web, computer, or iPad, if he hasn't already:

I have recently bought an Ipad but have forgotten my gmail password that I use on my Mac. I have used this email as my apple ID. If I now set up a new email account on my Ipad, do I have to change my apple ID as well as my apple password! HELP A VERY CONFUSED NOVICE!!!
On your Mac, try to access your gmail account. There should be a link you click for "Forgot My Password". Click it and try to retrieve your password.

I am very confused. When I wanna to update my apps in app store, it shows the account which is my iPhone one is not my iPad one. how can I reset to my iPad account?
And I am very confused by your query. Your iTunes account is the same on all devices - unless of course you have multiple accounts to begin with.
If you do have another Apple ID that you use for the iPad purchases, you can sign out of the account that is on the iPad in Settings>Store.
Perhaps a few more details from you could clear up the confusion??? -
My Ipad did work on my wireless at home and works on other wireless but no longer at home. My IPhone works at home and others can use the wireless> Confused that it did work and now does not?

Additional things to try.
Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
On your iPad go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings and see if that enables you to connect.

I have installed the new up to date itunes which i can open on my PC, however when i connect my ipad or iphone i get an error saying i cannot use the device as the require software isn't installed?? I'm very confused please help......
Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.) -
I want to swap my 3rd generation 64gb 3G ipad, for the same as a mini. However cellular is confusing me, can I get 3G on a cellular ipad? Please help. Want to put the sim I take out of the ipad into the mini. On the apple shop website, the cellular model is £100 more expensive then the 3G one, however in currys it only sells cellular. I do not want to make a mistake it's a lot of money.
3G and cellular are different ways of referring to the same thing, they can use the mobile networks for data. The cellular/3G models are £100 more than the wifi-only version.
The 3rd gen iPad uses a micro-sim card, the Mini iPads use smaller nano-sim cards, so you won't ba able to use the same sim card.

Help !! ios 6,iphone,Two ipods & and ipad totally confused !!

I have an iphone 4 and an ipad, both my boys have an ipod and everything runs under my apple account.
My first problem is that neither of the children can face time or message. Have set them both up with gmail accounts but neither ipod will accept the associated passwords despite being re set to ensure they are correct.
They cant receive messages from me, which is what i wanted for them, do i need to give them each an apple id? and if so how do i regulate their app store purchases?
and when they are given an app store voucher, whos id does it go on?
My second problem is that since upgrading to ios6 one of the boys is getting all my text messages showing up on his ipod and the other still cant open his messages.
I have messed around with the settings on both ipods but to no avial and I am now totally confused.
All I want is for someone to explain how the boys can face time/message, how my messages stop from appearing on their ipods and as for my ipad well i give up!!
please surely it cant be this difficult?You have to set them each up with their own Apple ID, then log out from your Apple ID on their devices and log in with theirs. Make sure that Facetime and Messages are set to receive calls/messages on their Apple IDs, not yours.

Why did iTunes confuse my existing iPad and my new iPad?
I synced my new iPad to my Mac and specified that I didn't want music to sync. That appeared to work ok. I then synched my existing iPod Touch to the the mac and iTunes deleted music. I ultimately reloaded it all but now I'm concerned about syncing again. How can I prevent this confusion from happening? I also just upgrade iTunes but haven't yet installed IOS5 on the other devices.
I guess I should have included a little more info:
1. I only have 1 appleID
2. I only have 1 apple device (the one iphone, nothing else)
3. I only sync on one computer (VERY annoying you cant use more than 1!!)
4. I never have any other problems during syncing and don't change any settings
5. I downloaded the app again so it is back.
I am not asking how to get the app back, I just want to know WHY itunes deleted this app. This is the second or 3rd time it has happened and it is really annoying.
I also would like to get my files back. So again, I'd like to know why itunes deleted the app and if it deleted my files as well.
The most important part of this is to find out WHY this happened so that it wont happen again. It seems to be a pretty simple operation: Plug the iphone in, itunes opens and does a sync. It almost always works perfectly, I never change any settings. Yet every once in a while it deletes a newly installed app so obviously something is wrong. If I can find out what I did wrong, then I can avoid it in the future.

I am so confused about iCloud. My husband says he never set it up but all is information is on both his iPad and iPhone. How can that be and do I have to have iTunes Match?
"All his information" may or may not include things customarily stored in iCloud. Perhaps all the information is on both devices because they were both recently synced using the same iTunes sync.
Do you have to have iTunes Match? No. Many folks do not have iTunes Match. The music purchased from iTunes is always available to the purchaser. Other music is stored in iTunes on the person's computer. -
