IPad mini backlight issues after digitizer replacement
I recently replaced the digitizer on my 1st gen iPad mini, and after reassembly, I'm havering issues with the backlight. Please have a look at my photo and let me know what the issue may be.
Thanks a lot,
Dave
I guess I should have mentioned before that this is my second time replacing it. The first time there was a faulty digitizer and the home button wouldn't work. But the touch screen DID work. Now its flipped, my second time around fixing it the home button works fine and the touchscreen is unresponsive. I thought it might have some damage from being dropped but the touch screen worked before. So I'm not sure if it's something I'm doing wrong or if its something i can fix. Thanks

IPad mini touch unresponsive after replacing digitizer.
I just replaced an ipad mini digitizer. The home button works fine but the screen is completely unresponsive. I can get to the lockscreen but can't swipe or do anything. I tried doing the reboot by holding both buttons but same result. Please help.

IPad mini lockscreen issue, do i need to replace my iPad?
Hello,
I bought last week the iPad mini, but a few days ago I stumbled upon a lockscreen issue. When the iPad screen is off and I press the home button the screen turns on, but there is some distortion on the unlock bar, lines that quickly disappear. This happens only sometimes. I upgraded today to iOS 6.1.3 but this issue continues to occur. Please I would be grateful for any advice. Do I have to return my iPad to the seller? Or this issue is common.
Best regardsI would not say it is a common issue at all. Try this and see if it helps.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. -
Ipad mini not charging after 6.1.2 ios update
I just updated my pad to the latest ios, then what i noticed is that it can't charge anymore. Charging is is still possible through laptop though but it's TOO SLOW... this is surely because of the update... what can we do... hopefully apple fixes this SOON...
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
And this - Unplug the charger from the iPad and then replug. May resume charging.
Or - Recalibrate the battery. See link below.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. In rare instances when using the Camera Connection Kit, you may notice that iPad does not charge after using the Camera Connection Kit. Disconnecting and reconnecting the iPad from the charger will resolve this issue.

I have an iPad mini with retina display, yesterday I wanted to add some music to my iPad, I've had an iPod before so I think I am reasonably experienced with syncing using iTunes. After launching iTunes it recommended me to update to 11.1, I did so and then rebooted my laptop. Once I had logged back in again I launched iTunes. I plugged in my iPad expecting iTunes with a small bit of delay detect my device and then I would begin syncing. However after waiting a few minutes a window eventually popped up saying it was unable to connect to my device as it had "timed out". I am currently using a Home Share to listen to my music but it's a pain as I have to always have iTunes on.
Are there any tips out there that can resolve this issue???Hey, try the steps below:
1. Quit iTunes.
2. Open Finder, and go to wherever your iPhoto library is stored (usually ~/Pictures).
3. Right-click on the iPhoto Library and select “Show package contents”
4. Delete the “iPod Photo Cache” folder
5. Close the finder window
6. Open iPhoto. It might take some time for it to reload the library, but it’s ok.
7. When iPhoto finishes loading the library and you can browse your photos, close iPhoto
8. Open iTunes, goto your device’s Photo tab, and make shure the Sync photos options is UNCHECKED
9. Sync your device
10. After the sync finishes, CHECK the sync photo option. It will ask if the photos already in the device should be overwritten. I anserwered yes
11. Select which photos, events, albums or faces you want to sync,
12.- Sync your device again, and it should do it, including your photos -
Ipad mini syncing issues with itunes : (x) items could not be synced
I'm using ipad mini (non retina) 16GB with itunes 11.2.2.3. I had downloaded some games from itunes like asphalt 8, GT racing 2, infinity blade, real racing 3, dead trigger 2, and apps like garageband. When i tried to sync these games with my ipad. everything happened normally like
syncing apps to 'superhornet's ipad' (step 6 of 6)
copying 1 of 8: asphalt 8
and later 'finished syncing'
but after syncing is finished on itunes. A message appears on the ipad saying '14 items could not be synced. see itunes for more information'
there is no message in the itunes that would tell what issue happened here.
Due to this, the games i mentioned above does not get installed on my ipad. all i get is their greyed out icons which shows their name below them, when i touch any of those greyed icons they start showing 'installing' which never really completes.
I have also tried to install apps by ifunbox, but it showed some error when i tried to sync those games.
This issue doesn't happen with all the games. I had also downloaded games like 'the sandbox, ACR drift, shadow gun and they were installed without any issues.
I had never played any game on my ipad. so far i had only used it as an ebook reader, video player and internet browser. so i have no idea if this problem existed before.
and yes my computer is authorized, and i successfully sync all videos, music, ebooks with it.
my PC's specs:
AMD phenom II X4 B25
4GB RAM DDR3 133MHz
AMD radeon HD6770 1GB GDDR5
Gigabyte GA78LMT-S2P
my ipad is running iOS 7.1
and itunes version is 11.2.2.3 (updated yesterday expecting it would solve the issues)
I would appreciate if anyone could help me with thisFound another thread with a few possible solutions. The one that worked for me was to delete the ipod photo cache in the "Pictures" folder. Here's the thread: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3390697

Use iPod Touch 4th gen iTunes backup to setup a new iPad Mini 1 - issues
Hi all,
I've just used my Pod Touch 4th gen iTunes backup to setup a new iPad Mini 1 but none of the apps were installed on the iPad mini. Only the default apps are installed.
None of the photos from the camera roll were installed either, apart from a few 'screen shots' I have taken.
iPod Touch is iOS 6.1.6 and the iPad mini is 8.1
There was a warning advising that some of the apps in the iPod backup might not be compatible with the iPad.
If it makes a difference, I'm using one Apple ID for the App store and another one for iCloud. When I was prompted for the Apple ID during setup on the Mini, I entered the iCloud ID.
Interestingly, when I went into the App store on the Mini it showed the ID I use for that rather than the iCloud one, which seemed good.
Is this what I should expect to happen in this situation or am I doing something wrong ?
Many thanks. MarkI've managed to get the apps loaded without having to do it manualy !! :-)
It was a case of RTFM - I forgot to do a 'Sync' after restoring the 4G's iTunes backup into the iPad.
Transfer content from an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to a new device - Apple Support
For some unknown reason, the Camera Roll images and Videos still weren't restored to the new device.
This is not too much of an issue because I've exported them out of the 4G using the awesome 'Photo Sync' app. Despite it's name it actually does an 'export'and not a sync, which I think makes image management easier on the PC side

Brand New iPad Mini WiFi ISSUES
So I bought my iPad Mini 32gb a week ago and I've been using it eversince with my house's wifi. I recently updated it to iOS 6.1.3 and a couple of days after I started having WiFi issues. So I connect to my wifi and use it as usual, but after 5 minutes of using it the internet stops working eventhough it still shows the 3 bars of internet on the top left corner next to iPad. To fix this I have to turn off my iPad every time. I am trying to see if there is a solution or if I will have to send it to the apple repair center or change it for a new one for 40 bucks. I really need internet on it so please help. ( IT IS URGENT.)
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Ipad Mini Connection Issues on 2.4Ghz
My Ipad Mini seemed to be working fine across all wifi networks for the first week or so, but recently I've found it either won't connect at all or stay connected for long on networks running 2.4Ghz routers.
I called Apple support and took it into the Apple store, but they weren't able to tell what was wrong because it connected to their wifi right away.
I'm convinced it has to be an issue specific to 2.4gHz networks.
I have no problems with wifi connectivity on my parent's 5g network, but if I attempt to switch to the 2.4ghz I get the same "Unable to connect error" that I recieve from all the other places I'm having problems. I've read conflicting reports about what is causing this issue, but I'm just about ready to give up on this thing and take it back.
Anyone else having this problem or know of a solution?I have had the same problem with the mini ( no connectivity on 2.4 ghz, but OK on 5.0 ghz) and convinced the folks at the Apple store to replace it. The Apple store network in this area is only 5.0 ghz, and I had to use the adjoining 2.4 ghz department store network to convince them that the mini radio was at fault. We have five ipads in the family, and the mini is the only unit to display this problem. It appears to be a hardware fault, but all the advice on this forum relates to software resetting of various forms and that did not solve the problem for me. Try the Apple store again, as replacement may be the only answer.

After just 3 hour of my first activation of iPad mini 16 GB wifi
the screen gradualy go black and then completly turns black and the backlit still on
I see just a part of the status bar
I try to take a screen shoot while the issue happening (the attached photo) the photo didnt show any issue
but I also take a picture same time with my camera (also attached) notice the problem on image
I try to reboot after I guess wehere the power of slide and it still going dark
I try to touch some icons when the screen is partly appeared and nothing happened
this issue happening three times during 1 day and I wait about 30 min until its back normal
I know You will tell me to go to Apple store and return it
But I live in Iraq (Middle East) where there is no Apple store and the warranty cover just the software (As they think that software is big issue)
I wonder if that any suggestions or I forget it and pick another brand tabletbackup the device, restore it and setup as new and test - if the same thing happens it is a hardware issue - if you are still under your apple hardware coverage and this hasn't been done due to accidental damage it may be covered.

The sound in my iPad mini has gone noisy after I updated to iOS 7.0.2. Is there n issue to solve this? Anyone else facing the same problem?
There is NO NEED to reset settings nether restore the iPad.
There are some possibilities for sound problems - most of them are really simple:
http://youtu.be/SDf1LDcE95Q
(1min 36sec)
It covers the basics:
checking side-switch / mute / "Control Center"
volume all up
...and also the worst cases:
closing all apps (for rare cases when a single app might render the sound system instable)
rebooting the iPad
So, don't get desparete: try the things in the video.
There are people who reported having forgotten an audio-bluetooth connection activated with a turned-off sound-system or speakers... or forgot Air-Play turned on... so be sure you disengage bluetooth and/or airplay.
On the 'hardware side', dirty dock connector (30 pin) can make the iPad 'think' it is connected to external audio - if so, cleaning it with a dry toothbrush can fix. Also, moisture in the headphones connector can make the iPad switch to 'headphones' even without headphones connected, making it silent: check if you can hear things with headphones plugged in - if so, try gently inserting and removing headphones a few times and check if you get sound back to iPad's speakers alone. -
I have an ipad mini, running jail broken ios 7.0.4
I have it set to sleep after two minutes, but it often doesn't go to sleep. Any thoughts?I'm not making any judgment, honesty I'm not. You are free to do whatever you want to with the devices that you bought and paid for.
I'm just saying that if the device is jail broken, you're most likely not going to get any help here. First of all, because the overwhelming majority of the users here are not jailbreaking and don't have the answers, and second of all other than suggesting that you restore the device to its unjailbroken original factory settings, we are not supposed to be making suggestions as to how you can fix issues with a jailbroken device. -
