this is getting more & more ridiculous......and worsening by the hour. Now every click on a Pages file makes it reboot....and just trying to save some files prior to doing a total restore as not sure what gets saved in the "back up" prior to the restore. Am starting to love my 5 year old original IPad as slow as it is, even more....

@ Start-up: Stuck after chime! No Apple Logo, No Spininng Wheel! But...
OK I tried to enable front row on my old powermac. Long story short it didn't work and made my clock and search icons disappear from my menu bar. I found some info about how to restore both by by downloading an reinstalling the latest combo os update, for me was 10.4.11. Did that.
Now...
After reinstalling and restarting, I get the chime, then it goes directly to a gray screen with the NO SMOKING sign but without the cigarette.
I tried starting in safe mode, tried command V, tried resting the pram. The pram reset was the only command that was actually recognized but I'm not sure it made a difference. I tried putting the osx install disc in and holding down command C it my comp didn't even recognize the disc.
I am stuck. Can anybody please give some sort of advise or some direction on how to fix this. Fortunately I've backed up most of my projects so if worse comes to worse I can just reinstall the OS but I'd have to get my mac to even rcognize a disc first.
HELP!!!!!!OK got the disk to run. DId the archive and install method. Up and runiing 99%. I just have to reinstall a few misc. programs. Thanks for all the help.

I didn't used my iPad 2 for many months. Last week when I tried to use it, it wasn't charged. Then I put it on charging and again didn't used it for a week. Yesterday, When I tried to use it again it's saying that it is disabled for 22 million mins. I treid to restore it by connecting to iTunes but it's not restoring. Kindly Help.
Thanks for that. Much more constructive than the last comment. It's only the restriction code I can't recall, not the access passcode. So I can currently access the device, just not age restricted content. Does that's make a difference? I also wondered if anyone knew how many attempts you get to try to get it right. Now tried 21 times and so far nothing bad has happened but I am concerned I'll eventually be completely locked out of the device. That doesn't seem in the spirit of things though. Surely it's foreseeable that a child could repeatedly try to guess the code so I can't see that it would be right to lock the device down completely in that circumstance, particularly if the access code is being typed in correctly every time.

If you have restored to factory settings and started as new, there is nothing more that you can do on your own. Make an appointment at an Apple Store and ask them for help. You might have a hardware problem and the Apple Store techs will be able to determine that.

My left shift key on Macbook Pro Retina (15") is behaving like the F11 key (show/hide open windows).
The left shift key behaves the same on the laptop keyboard and on an external Apple keyboard.
This just started in last week after 6 months of use. The right shift key and other keys on the keyboard all appear to work correctly.
Suggestions greatly appreciated.I have a solution to this issue now after a discussion with Apple Support. Some where in the last few weeks, there was a change in the key that would do a Show Desktop under the Mission Control settings in the System Preferences. Even though the key sequence that was shown for the Show Desktop setting did not include the Left SHift key, by changing this first to having no key sequence and applying that and then changing it back to the F11 key, the Left SHift key issue that I was having has cleared up.
A second issue that was uncovered was that the SSD had some issues (uncovered when I ran Disk Utility using the Repair Disk key). I had to restart and use the Disk Utility through the Command R sequence to get to the stand alone Disk Utility. The SSD appears to be running better as a result as well.
Hope that this is of use to someone else in the future. -
On MacBook Pro unable to print webpage; I get a single blank page. But I can print using Safari. Started last week while using Firefox 3.6. I downloaded Firefox 5.0--same problem.
I am now able to do live broadcasts with my i-sight, but my original problem still exisits....
Unsolved Problem:I need to be able to broadcast from CamTwist as CamTwist is the only program that will allow me to do what I need to do. Justin.tv and Ustream.tv do not recognize CamTwist for reasons I can not explain. -
My iPad is not charging when I pluged in and its keep turning off and on (it just shows the apple logo). I even changed the charger so what else can I do to start my iPad?
FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY. -
im using an ipad mini and recently it started to act way wiered than i ever imagined.whenever i switch it on it would open or close apps of its choice and function without my interference.it's like auto touch.what should i do with this?
That could be a hardware problem with the screen digitizer but first try these troubleshooting steps in this order:
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds). No data will be lost.
Restore: Connect your device to iTunes on your computer, backup, and then select Restore to Factory.

I resolved both my problems. The problems with Walgreens is that my own Frontier internet connection is very slow and will allow only minimal downloads. When I used a Verizon Hot Spot to download pictures they downloaded without any problem. So I am working iwth Frontier to resolve my slow internet speed. The problem with pictures be syncronized to a gallery was resolved by using the Help column and the pictures were easily deleted by following their instructions.

Hi it started last week i thought the battery ran out once at home and the power source it came back on and stated that the battery still had charge. So then sometimes it just shuts off unless it is connected to the power source. Then after i bring it back up it states that the date/time is 2008 so i have to reset that. Is there a patch for this or is my macbook os 10.6.8 hosed up?

My ipad mini refuses to join home wifi connection. It is trying to do so continuously but with no success. I tried to reset all settings. Switched wifi off and then back on. Nothing works. The rest of devices are fine with the wifi. What shall I do next?
Maybe reboot your router. Unplug it for about 30 seconds or so and then plug it back in. Reboot your iPad while the router is powering up.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. -
how do I connect my new (purchased last week) macbook air to my samsung smart tv? I purchased the adapter at the apple store and connected to the TV via HDMI cable. The TV says "no signal. I do not see TV as an option in the display tab of system preferences. what else do I need to do?
First, make sure your TV is tuned to display the correct input signal. Most TVs have several inputs (multiple HDMIs, cable connections, RCA etc) so double-check that you're using the correct one - HDMI1, HDMI2 or whatever is written next to the port.
I assume that you have a mini-Displayport to HDMI adaptor? If you open displays preferences, first tick the box that says "show display preferences in menu bar" then locate the menu and click Detect Displays. See if that helps.

Ok so you want Apple to address the problem, but yet you don't want to take it to them just in case they can't fix it? What if they can fix it? Complaining here certainly won't fix it.
