IPad Mini loses iCloud settings

I have a iPad Mini (iOS 7.0.3) and a MacBook Pro Retina (Mavericks). Recently, from time to time, my iCloud account on the iPad loses the all the settings, i.e. it shows with only the "Find my iPad" feature activated, and all the rest is deactivated.
I don't lose any information, beacuse I (re)turn Contacts, Photos, Notes, etc... on and after a while, my iPad downloads everything from the cloud; however, it's quite annoying to have this happening with some regularity. Besides, since synching is not instantaneous, it takes a while to get all 1.500 contacts back to my iPad when I most need them (which is usually what triggers me to discover that something is missing).
I've can't still reproduce the error, but it seems it's related to the context where my iPad is connected to my Mac via the Lightning cable and I shutdown my Mac.
Any suggestion on how to avoid this?

    My ipad mini loses Internet connection every time it automatically locks. I have to re-establish the connection but sometimes it would take too long for the Internet to be connected. I'm using a wireless connection

    just browsing around I found this question. Also on my mini retina I fight with this problem. After a lot of searching I found that the only solution is to switch to

  • My (wife's) iPad Mini loses included email photo images

    My (wife's) iPad Mini loses some included photo images when emails are sent to her.  We use a GMail server and iOS 8.1.2 .
    The email structure and text content are fine, but a series of imbedded images shows some images correctly, while some are shown as blank image shapes.
    I have been able to gain access to all images in the email by going online to the GMail server and forwarding it to a Microsoft PC.  Any help will be appreciated as it looks as though this might be an iPad Mini problem !!

    Thanks - but this is confirmed as the setting which was already "On".  But thanks for trying to help.

  • Hi I reset my Ipad mini to factory settings and before doing it i deleted my apple Id account which is linked to my ipad .. now I am not allowed to go ahead with thr resetting process aim stuck

    hi
    Iam Using Ipad Mini, I reset it toFactory Settings ad now iam not able to go ahead with the reset process for my pad mini. Before performing ipad reset i deleted my apple Id.Please help me with this issue

    OK, so he needs to go to Manage your Apple ID, and click on Reset Password for the old Apple ID: Apple - My Apple ID
    If he doesn't remember the Security Questions, then he can contact Apple Support and they will reset them for him:
    ACCOUNT SECURITY CONTACT NUMBERS
    Once you get the password reset, he can then type in that new password when the prompt comes up, and it should allow him to sign out of his old iCloud account.

    So I forgot the password to my ipad mini, I tried about 9 times to remember the code but each time I tried it kept locking up on me. So finally it disabled itself. NOW, I have logged into my icloud account and I see the " erase device" option if I erase the device can I restore my passcode?

    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
  • What will happen to my ipad and apple phone if I reset daughters ipad mini to factory settings, we are getting each others messages and mail
    Hi   I have my laptop, ipad and apple 4 phone.  Youngest daughter has ipad mini which I connected to my laptop to download free games, music and photos, now the ipadmini thinks its me and we are getting each others messages etc.     If I reset the ipadmini to factory settings, will this delete and/of effect my Ipad, Apple phone, I don't want everything DELETED on my devices.  HELP
    Thanks
    Yes it would be her device you remove your account from, but she would need an email address to have an Apple ID.
    I guess if it's only messages that you want her to use, you could create an iCloud email address alias and let her use that for messaging.
    First you'd need to create an alias for your iCloud address, you can do this at iCloud.com > mail, click on the gear icon in the bottom left corner and select preferences, then choose the accounts tab. The alias could be her name.
    After creating an alias you will need to add it to her device as an ID for messages, go to settings > messages > send & receive > Add another email.
    While you are there make sure she only sends and receives messages from that address, you also need to ensure the same settings on your devices use anything but that address.
  • Ipad Mini loses wifi connection
    Ipad mini, 64 GB, wifi only, brand new...I enable the internet sharing from my Mac to connect.  All was fine for two weeks then today the Mini keeps dropping my wifi connection. I have reset the network settings, turned it off and on, airplane mode off/on, wifi off/on, "forgot this network" then connected again, also renewed lease.  It will connect for a few minutes, then disconnect. Seems a lot of people are having this issue. Anybody have another fix? Please help this is so frustrating. Before this I was streaming Netflix with no problem.
    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button
  • Iphone 5C and Ipad Mini Retina icloud tabs do not sync?
    I have icloud for safari turned on on my iphone 5c and my ipad mini.  When I open a website on my iphone 5c I can not see that website on my ipad mini when I hit the icloud icon.  Also when I open a website on my ipad mini in safari it wont show that website on my 5c but instead show a website that I opened on my ipad mini a week ago.  I tried rebooting the iphone and ipad, I tried signing out of icloud on both devices and signing back in, I turned off icloud and then turned it back on on both devices and nothing seems to be working to get them to sync.  Is this a common problem with the new iOS update or am I just going crazy over something stupid?
    If you are talking about iCloud tabs, check to make sure you haven't inadvertently turned on private browsing on one or both of your devices.  When you do, they will stop syncing iCloud tabs until private browsing is turned off again.
  • Since updating to Ios7 I can't download films on my iPad mini, also iCloud seems to turn itself off. My other iPads are fine, as the mini was under warranty, they have given me a new one. However the problem is still there.
    Since updating to IOS 7 I can't download purchased movies, I think the problem is iCloud, as that also keeps turning itself off.
    I've been given a new iPad by my local apple store as it was under warranty, but I'm still having exactly the same, so it's not the pad, also my other pads are ok
    If you are completely confident that you didn't hide it, then you purchased those with different apple id. If you completely confident that you purchases with same apple id then you have hidden it. One of the other or you are speaking about a miracle. While miracles are possible they are not very likely.   • My ipad mini's icloud keeps turning off so what should I do?
    I need it as i have school work that keeps disapearing everytime icloud turns off and I have tried all the suggestions on all the forums and nothing has worked.
    Reset your device:
    Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)
    1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.
    2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
    3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally.
    <Edited by Host>
    Hey best99,
    Thanks for the question. After you change your Apple ID, you’ll want to follow these directions for updating the iCloud account on iOS devices:
    Apple ID: What to do after you change your Apple ID
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5796
    iCloud
    iOS 6 and later: Go to Settings > iCloud.
    - If you signed out before changing your Apple ID, enter your current Apple ID to sign in. The data from your iCloud account will download to your device.
    - If you're still signed in with your previous Apple ID:
    1. Scroll down and tap Delete Account. Depending on what iCloud options are turned on, you'll be asked to confirm that you want to delete data from your device. To confirm, tap Delete. (If you're using iOS 7 and have Find My iPhone turned on, you'll be asked to enter the password for your previous Apple ID. Enter the password, then tap Turn Off.) The data will be deleted from your device, but not from iCloud.
    2. Enter your current Apple ID to sign in. The data from your iCloud account will download again to your device.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.
