IPad not listed correctly in Devices

If you look at your account page in iTunes and the iTunes Store there is a section for "Manage Devices". I have an iPad, the new 3rd Gen, and it shows up as an iPad2 under my devices. I think this may cause issues when syncing, downloading and playing content, or installing new apps since they are different model devices.
I only have one iPad and never had an iPad2, but I did buy one for my Dad a while back but he lives in a different city and it has never been synced with my itunes account or library. Has anyone else ever ran into this situation? And how do I correct my device list to show the correct model iPad? Thank you for any input on this.

I just had a strange conversation with applecare senior advisor. He said he had never heard of the itunes store account section for "Manage Devices" and wanted to know if I had done a google search to solve the problem and even wanted to know which specific search phrase I had used. At any rate he said he had never heard of this issue and would need to submit the issue to engineering for a resolution and wanted to know the knickname I used to setup the ipad. Stay tuned.

Homeshare iPad TV Shows now not listing correctly on device (Impossible to select anything)

I have a major issue (Since the last iPad (2nd Gen) Firmware Update 3 days ago) - I have around 389 TV Shows (7,858 Episodes) all worked fine until 3 days ago. I can now only see (visible) 6 Shows on my iPad using Homeshare, and 99.8% of my TV episodes are nowALL listed under the first Icon. i.e. A list of around 7,800 episodes all in one huge list !!!
My iTunes library is perfect, and I take every care to ensure it is always correct. My Movie collection is fine (1,700 of them) - This is incedibly frustrating as it took Apple around 3 years to sort a similar historic problem, which was only resolved with IOS 8.0.
It also now takes twice as long to load the library !
Running all of the latest iPad firmware and iTunes versions (Windows 7)

How do you get this to work. I have tried everything I can think of but my iPad will not list within the devices panel. My iPhone is fine and by mac is listed but never shows as being on line.
Any ideas how to fix this????

Yes. I have checked through all the iCloud settings and everything is "on". Location services are on as well
My iCloud account works fine as I get all the photo stream images updated.

Ipad backup not listed in itunes device backups but is on drive

I am trying to help a friend who upgraded their iPad mini to iOS7 but lost all the notes.
They did a backup but it now not listed in itunes device backups but I fount the folder on the hard drive with 8 other listed backups.
How do I add the original backup into itunes and restore from it?

Move them into folders that is listed below and iTunes should recognize it. Look in the Back up your backup sections to see the location.

Aperture 3 not syncing correctly to devices

Aperture 3 is not syncing correctly with my iPhone/iPad. All the albums sync, but they contain some images that arn't in the actual Aperture folders. This is very frustrating when I go to show someone my portfolio and images I dont want in the folders show up. I've rebuilt the Aperture Database, deleted all previews and updated all previews and Reprocessed all masters and ran disk utility. I've removed all the photos from the iphone/ipad and resynced and still the issue occurs. All the software is up to date. This only occurs in Aperture, syncing from iPhoto to my devices is correct (I'm fazing out iPhoto, so using that isn't an option).

Ipad not listed find iPhone

Our family has 2 iPads, 2 iPhones and 1 iPod touch. One of the iPads is not listed in devices in find my iPhone app. This app is on all devices we own. In the app on my phone it lists "this device" but on the ipad that's missing the "this device" is not there. How do I add this ipad?

ALl devices are on same account. I checked the settings as suggested and this is already on. Wondering if my wife named her iPad the same as mine. Can that be changed somewhere? Doesn't make sense tho since mine is the newer iPad. Ie I would expect it to overwrite the old if they shared the same name.

2nd hand ipad not showing as associated device on itunes

Hi All,
I bought a 2nd hand Ipad a couple of weeks ago from a shop (all legit). As I'm pretty useless with all things tech they synced most of my pics/vids and music from my Iphone using their computer in-store. As my Iphone has more space than the I pad, I bought extra ICloud storage (not realising that this wouldn't create more space in the Ipad - told you I'm stupid when it comes to tech stuff!).
Anyway, after spending saving my pics,vids and music to an external hard drive via Itunes, I then synced my favourites to my Ipad to give me more space. I first noticed that there was a problem when trying to play some of my songs, it would say "this device is already associated an an apple I.d.. if you download past purchases with your id you cannot automatically download past purchases with a different id for 90 days".
Two issues with this.. The first being that the songs it is saying this for were NEVER purchased from Itunes - they were ripped from c.d's onto my Itunes library (and have always played ok on my Iphone and Ipod shuffle). Secondly, I have only ever had/used one apple i.d for my computer, Iphone, Ipod shuffle and now this Ipad. The Ipad has been fine using my apple i.d for everything else.. ie, apps, Itunes store and also buying extra i.cloud storage, so I'm not sure why it is viewing it as a different i.d?
After looking on my Itunes account I noticed that under "manage devices" it is only showing my Iphone and computer as an associated device (I'm not too bothered that it doesn't show my Ipod shuffle because I only sync my music occasionally on that). Is this because it's second hand, and if so what can I do about it? Although I bought this primarily so I can view my pics and home vids on a larger screen than my phone, I don't want to worry about losing music from Itunes if it's viewing my Ipad as belonging to someone else, or an authorised device etc. By the way, the shop I bought the Ipad from is legit, they ask for proof of ownership before buying anything - this Ipad was one someone received free as part of a phone upgrade before selling it so it can't be an issue with being blocked etc.

I just tried that - still no difference. Ipad not showing up as an associated device on itunes, and on my Ipad when I try to turn automatic downloads on it comes up with the same message.. already associated with an apple ID.. 90 days etc etc.
It makes no sense as the extra icloud storage (and the money they've taken from me to pay for it) has been done using this ipad, my usual apple id and payment details and has been synced to my itunes account (which is associated with my id and authorised). If you have any other ideas (or alternatively know which dept I should contact in Apple) I'd really appreciate it.

MOV files from Ipad not playing correctly in 2010 Windows PPT presentation

I inserted .mov files taken from Ipad 2 into a.ppt on my work PC. I saved these files to the folder containing all of the videos I am showing in the ppt-- the same folder where the .ppt is located as well. Then I inserted them as I do all videos (I create ppts often for work) -- and the clips that are horizontal play fine but the vertical ones do not play correctly- audio and video not in sync. any remedies? (using ppt 2010, converted files to wmv, didn't work either). I should add that when I viewed these files on my PC (by just clicking the file) they play fine, but they are not rotated correctly. This must have been my fault when I took the videos. However, when I insert them they are rotated correctly but just don't play right - looks like a Japanese movie. please help!

Your page code doesn't give instructions to any browser plug-in and uses the out of date "embed" tag:

Burner not listed in output devices

Just bought a new PowerMac with a factory installed PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-112D. While running DVDSP 4.0.3, I only have hard drive listed under output devices. I'm guessing the burner is compatible since it shipped with the computer...any suggestions or any similar experiences? Thanks in advance.

I am having the same issue, as are several other people (search the form for "burner" and you'll see several reports of this problem on the first page). My Mac Pro is two weeks old, and the burner does show up in the "more info" report - but not in DVD Studio Pro, even after rebooting.

Fingerprint reader not listed in Biometric Devices

Hello. The HP Notebook I'm currently using with Windows 7 Ultimate is the Pavilion dv4-1225ee Entertainment PC (FZ248EA#ABV). It's got a built-in fingerprint reader (Validity Sensor's VFS201), which works only with DigitalPersona.
Now the problem I'm encountering is quite minor: If I go to Biometric Devices in Control Panel, I get the message "Windows did not find any biometric device on this computer. You might need to attach your device or install device drivers", even though the reader is listed under Biometric Devices in Device Manager ;
