IPad signature disppears when sending attachment

Every time I send an attachment from Pages, Keynote, or GoodReader, my default signature appearsin the email as I create it but disappears when I send it. I contacted GoodReader and they told me that it is a known issue with iPad mail and referred me to Apple support. Before I call, I would like to know if anyone else has encountered this problem and has a fix. Thanks!

The logo is an attachment. Anything in an email message that is not text must be sent as an attachment in order to be compliant with email protocols. But many modern email programs will automatically display the contents of some attachments. Apple Mail will display JPEGs and single-page PDFs. Presumably your correspondents are using an application that displays JPEGs but not PDFs.
Some email programs expect attachments to come at the end of the message, not intermixed with the other contents of the message. Such an app may treat everything after the first attachment as attachments. That might cause the different behavior when additional attachments are included before the attachment in your signature.

In the Mail app, open the help menu. You will find your answer under "add attachments"

How to stop my iPad from freezing when sending photos?

My iPad is frozen.
This is the third time it's has happened in four days. The first two times were accidents; the third time was induced.
What happens is when I attach three images from iPhoto to an email and hit send, Mail freezes.
The only way I've discovered to get out of this is to hold the Home button and the Off button until it re-starts and tells you to plug it back into another computer and re-load everything.
I have a 1 on 1 at the Apple Store in the AM but wondered if anyone else had similar experience, and if so how did you fix the problem?
I bought the iPad as a light weight alternative to take to Italy this summer. I can't have this happen there, for I'll have no way to re-load everything because I'll only have the 'dead' iPad.

Email doesn't work on Z10 when sending attachment after software update on Telus, Gmail but works on live.ca

Having my Telus email refusing to send attachment (one meg picture), without attachment everything is OK, can receive attachments. Weird thing is my live.ca account works perfectly. All that happens is the clock and sending icon would alternate (left it for a couple of hours - still the same). Same result using Wi-Fi or LTE, 4G. So called tech support @ Telus and they have no solution and have two Z10 with same problem sending attachment but on Gmail account. They are sending a ticket to Blackberry to see if problem can be resolved.
Emails were working perfectly before software ugrade three days ago. Anyone else having these issues? Ideas to resolve?

FINALLY, after TWO full months of waiting and checking every day, the problem has been resolved. I'm disappointed that Blackberry took so long to fix, but happy that my email can finally send attachments. Also disappointed that I was not notified of the fix by my provider Telus (which they said they would). Hopefully the problem is permanently resolved and won't re-appear after another software update.

Signatures disappear when sending file attachment in iPad Mail

Whenever I send an attachment from GoodReader or Pages the file appears at the bottom of the message and my default signature disappears. How can I send files with a signature?

Attachment Content is not Mandatory to enter unless you wish to override the Attachment Property.
Basically we use this content along with Encoded Image Property like chart, spc and image loader action block.
If you are loading file from system using Proper path in Attachment Section then no need to use Attachment Content section.
Ensure that you have set the Attachment Content Type to "application/pdf" to send pdf files and a valid File path in Attachment section.

Default signature missing when sending pdf Keynote presentation from ipad

I use my ipad quite a lot to create and send presentations and updates to my clients. However, I have noticed that these e-mails (pdf) do not have my default signature in them when received at the other end.
When creating the email from Keynote, the signature is present, but is removed when viewed in Outlook or any other system than iOS.
In the sent folder on both Iphone and iPad, the signature is still present.
Anyone else experienced this?

So I sent an email from iBooks to myself and my signature came through just fine. Not sure how you might solve your missing signature. Are you running iOS 5.0.1?
You might try a reboot of your iPad. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart.
This seems to correct numerous problems on the iPad maybe it will help you.

Apple Mail and gmail bug when sending attachment?

And now for my own Mail question. Wondering if others have run into this bug?
Mac OS 10.5 MacBook Pro.
There seems to be a bug when trying to send Mail with an attachment (via a gmail account).
Over and over, Mail just hangs there.
But it works when:
1. Using Mail, the same email can be sent when I Remove the attachment.
2. Skipping Mail, and using gmail itself, the email and attachment are sent within seconds.
2. Email with attachment can also be sent from another email service (such as Earthlink).
Only when I am using Apple Mail, sending via gmail, With an attachment, is there a hitch.

Perhaps this problem is confined to Mail 3.0 and later, and Leopard. I cannot send attachments using gmail as the smtp server. I can log in to my gmail account, download an attachment, and send, with no problem as Ross has experienced. I get an eternal hang when trying to send the same message with an attachment from Mail. Any solutions yet? Thanks!

Mail crashes in iPad and iPhone when sending reply

A very odd thing keeps happening this morning - I am trying to respond to an email, and every time I hit send, the mail app crashes. I attempted to respond to the same email on my iPhone, and the same thing happened. I tried sending a test email to myself, and that worked. Any ideas on what the problem could be and how I could fix it?

Try "resetting" the devices...
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Then try again. If that didn't help, on one device tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. If that helped, do the same for the other device.

Only Apple Account Security could help at this point. You can try calling Apple Support in Canada - you'll have to find one of the several ways, such as Skype, to call an 800 number from outside of the relevant country - and ask for Account Security and see if they can help. Or you can find a friend who speaks Chinese and ask them to help you talk to Apple Support in China. There are really no other options that I know of.
Note, by the way, that these are user-to-user support forums. You aren't speaking with Apple when you post here.

The recipent of the email will not see the signature in the body of the email. It appears like a text file in the form of an attachment. Is there a fix or work around to this?

Did you try what was suggested on that page i.e. disconnecting the iPad from your computer and turning the iPad off (press and hold the sleep/wake button until the red 'slide to power off' appears on screen and slide that) and then back on ?
And if the backup doesn't work after that then try a soft-reset instead of the off and on : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Attachments versus signature when sending to Outlook

Based upon my research, I imagine people will say the problem is on the Outlook end of things -- but I still want to know if there's a way to solve my "attachment vs. signature" problem better than the wonky workaround I've developed.
FYI: we're running Mac OS X 10.6.6, and therefore have Mail 4.4.
I recently switched a number of my users from Entourage to Mail. Now when they send messages with attachments to Outlook users (tested both Outlook 2003 and 2010), the images appear inline instead of as attachments. I've determined this is because they are sending in HTML or RTF format. Plain text makes the files show up as attachments on the other end -- however, it also converts their signature from body copy into a TXT attachment, even if there's no formatting at all in the signature.
So I'm left with two options right now:
1. Send in RTF or HTML format -- makes the signature show up right on the other end, but attachments appear embedded in the body. If you right-click on the image file and choose "save picture as", the save dialog box not only doesn't remember the original file name, but it also automatically defaults to BMP format, even if the original attachment was a JPG -- very bad!
2. Send in plain text -- makes the attachments show up as actual attachments on the other end, but even a plain-text signature is converted into an attachment, which looks pretty stupid.
The only solution I can find that works 100% of the time is a pain to do.
1. Write your message.
2. Select all the copy (including your signature) and cut.
3. Make sure the message is in plain text format (if it wasn't already).
4. Click in the now-empty body and paste -- this combines the message you wrote and your text signature into one chunk of text with no "signature" attached.
5. Click after the end of the message (also after the signature).
6. Attach your images.
7. Send.
I don't mind forcing my users to use plain text format all the time if it'll make attachments appear correct on the other end -- but having the signature converted into an attachment too is a hiccup I shouldn't have to also make them deal with. Does anyone know a better way around this?

I have a jpeg signature for a signature in Mail account. When I attach another file to the email and se nd it to a Windows -operated recipient, my signature becomes an attachment as well and only the body of the email message is left.

I have a jpeg I have added for a profeesional look to my signature in my Mail acount. When I attach other files to the message and send the message to a Widows-user recipient, the signature is no no seen as a signature and simply becomes an attachment with the email.
What can I do to stop this happening. Thanks

File menu "Attach Files..." then Tick off "Windows-friendly Attachment".
